[0:14] we all set to start
[0:15] J I'd like to the order thank you all
[0:19] for
[0:20] coming appreciate that okay so could you
[0:25] establish a CL please absolutely we will
[0:28] go ahead and start with commissioner
[0:30] Gallagher Thompson oh
[0:32] here chair Olsen here chair Cohen here
[0:37] and uh commissioner trapnel here we do
[0:41] have a quorum of four Commissioners
[0:43] present thank
[0:45] you
[0:55] regions to the flag the United States of
[0:58] America and the Republic for which it
[1:01] stands one nation under God indivisible
[1:05] with liberty and justice for
[1:11] all any public comments we have not
[1:15] received any cards at this
[1:20] time consider
[1:36] have a motion to
[1:38] approve minutes thank you
[1:40] [Music]
[1:42] second all favor say
[1:45] I
[1:48] oppos
[1:53] abens thank you okay the next item is a
[1:59] report about the um city council joint
[2:03] meeting and there's a little note it's
[2:07] agenda item two in your
[2:15] packet me wrote a little thing and we're
[2:18] gonna do a little mini report right yes
[2:24] correct that part I am not sure um but
[2:28] we can go ahead um so everything was um
[2:32] approved as the senior commission
[2:34] submitted um and it was a very um nice
[2:38] conversation that um the Commissioners
[2:41] had uh with city council um those that
[2:44] were present can definitely share about
[2:46] the conversation um the uh
[2:49] representative shared about past
[2:51] accomplishments um the current proposed
[2:54] work plan which ultimately again council
[2:57] did approve um so I will turn it back
[3:00] over to you um chair Cohen for some
[3:02] additional um comments and
[3:07] feedback I thought it was very um good
[3:11] meeting um certainly no push back um I
[3:16] thought they had good
[3:18] comments um you know some to suggest to
[3:21] Res maybe a slight change or
[3:27] addition anyway it was
[3:31] accepted we're good to go yeah I thought
[3:35] it was really you know very a very
[3:37] friendly meeting and actually mayor who
[3:41] actually thanked us for getting our city
[3:44] recertified so that really felt right
[3:48] yeah was and and we had we had really a
[3:51] tiny amount of time because we start
[3:53] they started a little late so they could
[3:55] be at 11
[3:56] minutes and um little
[4:00] as much as we can but we didn't get
[4:02] anything in about any kind of
[4:04] suggestions that they might have or any
[4:06] anything that you know sometimes they
[4:09] open up and say is there anything El is
[4:11] there anything we can do for you and
[4:13] there wasn't really time for any of that
[4:15] so we didn't have any of that back and
[4:16] forth then but it was very um very
[4:21] friendly and it wasn't adversarial at
[4:24] all very good so thank you all thank you
[4:27] for supporting us no I absolutely and so
[4:31] um the the two events um your work plan
[4:34] has been approved so that is with the
[4:37] focus on the two events that the uh
[4:41] senior commission is planning to go
[4:43] forward and host which is the uh senior
[4:47] health fair and the uh collaboration
[4:50] with Club 55 for the fall FL so that um
[4:54] is um approved but I thought it was a
[4:57] very nice um
[5:00] balance um with uh the discussion
[5:04] between what the commission had
[5:06] accomplished what the plan is going
[5:08] forward and some of the other
[5:11] information in regards to being
[5:12] certified so want to thank um noi and um
[5:17] Jane and uh for representing the senior
[5:21] commission during that
[5:25] conversation getting report on the do
[5:28] you want to add any comment remember but
[5:30] from your point of view did you think it
[5:32] went well what do you I did think it
[5:35] went well I mean it seemed like Council
[5:37] was in a good mood they were pleased
[5:39] with um with what everyone had to say
[5:44] and it was a very clear plan so it was
[5:48] really no big questions not all the
[5:52] plans are as clear oh that was good I
[5:56] think it went really well
[5:59] the support and kind of setting the
[6:02] stage for you know that time to approve
[6:05] it well I you know I don't think Council
[6:08] has historically been so good at that so
[6:10] I wanted to be sure that we had that on
[6:14] the record so yeah good we thank you
[6:18] thank
[6:20] you okay so we're moving on now to three
[6:24] the work plan
[6:30] does anyone have any ideas or
[6:33] suggestions for any changes or
[6:36] enhancements or anything about
[6:40] the know me yeah one thing that I think
[6:44] I found
[6:52] out one thing since I have access to
[6:55] hundreds of seniors where I live now
[6:58] they are no very much about the 50 plus
[7:01] program I've actually done a um old
[7:06] resident meeting where the director gave
[7:09] me time and I presented all the things
[7:11] that are available and they were all
[7:13] shock shocked really so I I think that
[7:19] we need to do maybe a little more I
[7:22] don't know
[7:23] PR and I think um one of the U council
[7:28] members
[7:30] Larry brought up the fact that you know
[7:33] they're very isolated seniors when he
[7:35] went around
[7:37] getting boats that you know most of them
[7:42] just don't have any anything to do with
[7:45] any other people they just isolated in
[7:48] their houses so I thought it might be
[7:50] good for us to do a little bit of PR
[7:53] maybe a something in the town fire about
[7:58] you know what the what program is all
[8:01] about um so that was my only thing that
[8:06] I been
[8:07] out yeah I mean we talked about where do
[8:10] they congregate but there wasn't any
[8:12] place really somebody suggested um the
[8:16] coffee shop but you know it's not like
[8:19] they all hang out I think in the health
[8:21] facilities would be the most likely
[8:25] M go Kiser and go anyway but I just saw
[8:29] maybe I don't know maybe a little car
[8:32] you could get out or couple articles do
[8:36] you think we should adverti bring like
[8:38] our activity guide over there a stack of
[8:41] our activity
[8:44] guides put it in the various
[8:47] um uh centers like for example we're at
[8:51] Bridge Point but there's also the um ter
[8:56] teres
[8:58] the so now they it only applies of
[9:01] course to people that live in Los Sal or
[9:04] Los
[9:06] Hills
[9:15] been
[9:21] is yeah there's another one
[9:30] oh The Forum The Forum but I think
[9:32] that's a group of
[9:35] two doesn't
[9:40] me any and it doesn't exclude it doesn't
[9:43] exclude people
[9:54] no that we do about well I thought that
[9:57] at a minimum
[10:00] um something in town you know they're
[10:04] always looking for subjects anyway
[10:07] and you know happy to write something
[10:10] that they'll take it or tell them give
[10:12] them the information and have them write
[10:17] it I'm sorry I was
[10:21] saying sorry about
[10:24] that oh yeah you just volunteered you
[10:28] know Jim
[10:30] to Bridge Point on the Terrace is to
[10:32] give a little talk yeah I mean when you
[10:35] wrote ra your
[10:37] hand whatever they may be yeah that's
[10:40] fine thank
[10:42] you any something like that little cars
[10:46] you give out or you know a couple
[10:49] articles in the town
[10:52] CER or because I am
[10:56] wish tell any time they'll give it to
[11:00] especially since I'm I'm not going to be
[11:02] on the
[11:10] board well we're to do commission as
[11:14] out I would highly recommend having
[11:17] Chris come because he's in charge and
[11:19] brid of coming along with those disc
[11:21] sessions and being a
[11:34] mention talked about social isolation
[11:38] that's a continuing problem that we've
[11:39] been working on you know since before
[11:41] the
[11:43] pmic yeah but I mean it's still notable
[11:47] people are just suffering they're not
[11:49] coming out and how to how to get to them
[11:52] that's what I think
[11:54] so is it appropriate for us to talk to
[11:57] council and go
[11:59] ask
[12:01] them he might have ideas of how to reach
[12:05] these socially isolated fol I don't know
[12:09] [Music]
[12:13] that need to do that so my suggestion um
[12:18] and this is something that uh I reviewed
[12:21] during our um age friendly
[12:24] recertification process there are a
[12:27] number and I will just say regular
[12:29] Outlets that the city and the various
[12:32] departments including our department
[12:34] utilizes to get information out and then
[12:38] on top of that if there are other
[12:41] suggestions um even as an example when
[12:43] we were doing the AARP survey the senior
[12:48] commission signed up to do a number of
[12:50] different um outreaches on top of what
[12:54] the city and the departments were
[12:56] already doing uh so if there are suggest
[12:59] questions um to both uh commissioner
[13:02] chop Mill and to uh Vice chair olsson's
[13:04] suggestion if there are specific
[13:08] discussions at maybe some of the senior
[13:10] facilities or having um I know in the
[13:14] past one of our former Commissioners
[13:15] that commissioner Naga um took it upon
[13:18] herself to take information and flyers
[13:22] to any of the um local places that had
[13:25] Community boards where information could
[13:28] be posted so all of those options if you
[13:32] have those types of suggestions I think
[13:34] it would be good to forward those ideas
[13:37] to staff because then we can look at um
[13:41] how to it and obviously how to maybe
[13:44] Implement some of those ideas or we
[13:46] could come back and possibly get the uh
[13:49] senior commission's um assistance on
[13:51] some of those things um whether it's a
[13:55] presentation at Bridgepoint or some of
[13:57] the other uh places Loc Al that is
[14:00] something that we can absolutely do in
[14:02] regards
[14:04] to um uh what's it called ads in the
[14:08] town crier our department actually
[14:10] regularly places um ads in the town
[14:13] crier we could potentially look at doing
[14:16] a general one to just advertise what our
[14:19] adult 50 plus program does but it is
[14:22] usually a little bit more pointed um
[14:25] marketing so if there is a specific
[14:28] event or specific program that we're
[14:30] trying to get more information out about
[14:34] as an example um which we'll talk about
[14:37] a little bit later we will have multiple
[14:39] ads about our town Tri or um our summer
[14:42] concerts um you will probably see other
[14:46] uh ads uh also in regards to some of our
[14:49] other events too but that is something
[14:52] that we will always be open and take
[14:54] information um suggestions on to enhance
[14:58] what we are already cre do we test on on
[15:01] the work plan we absolutely could so if
[15:04] there maybe that is something that we
[15:06] could do a refresher um with the
[15:08] commission at the next um and that
[15:10] actually might be a good leadin for the
[15:12] two events that the senior commission is
[15:15] hosting um staff can do a brief
[15:18] presentation on all of the different
[15:20] Outlets that we regularly do and then
[15:23] the commission can take a look at what
[15:26] other um suggestions that we can
[15:29] supplement on that for even that just
[15:32] the upcoming events and or programs for
[15:34] adult 50 plus um that might be a good so
[15:38] that um we're not duplicating efforts
[15:40] and we can look at how to enhance what
[15:43] we're currently
[15:45] doing add to that so I guess I need the
[15:48] microphone right you can't hear me with
[15:51] the mask yeah right okay so we deal with
[15:55] isolated seniors a lot in the programs
[15:57] that I'm working in and one of the
[15:59] issues is part of why they're isolated
[16:02] is they absolutely don't know how to use
[16:05] technology and so if we had and we don't
[16:09] have as far as I understand it many
[16:11] programs that are offered over
[16:13] technology that are offered put a closer
[16:16] no 50 plus has just like you're eating
[16:19] ice cream has a technology help
[16:23] sign what I'm what I'm saying is that
[16:26] programs that are offered over or some
[16:29] other kind of Technology are a way a
[16:33] research and documented way to reach
[16:37] Elders who are lonely and isolated
[16:40] rather than expecting them to come to
[16:43] some to them we by offering it over Zoom
[16:48] so I am wondering if I didn't see it
[16:52] that particularly stressed in the work
[16:54] plan about isolation and addressing
[16:56] loneliness that's something I wanted
[16:59] bring up before so I think if we're
[17:01] going to do any modification of the work
[17:03] plan we really want to include thinking
[17:06] about and figuring out how we could do
[17:09] that who would do it how would we do it
[17:11] what would we offer it's another type of
[17:14] Outreach but it is an effective way to
[17:17] reach people who are lonely and isolated
[17:20] just like friendly visitors so people
[17:22] who actually go and visit people who are
[17:25] lonely and isolated that's a way to
[17:28] bring them out and help engage them so
[17:32] there are other ways than adver simply
[17:35] advertising advertising is a good start
[17:38] for those who might be you know on the
[17:40] fence or a little more likely to step
[17:42] out but for those who are really lonely
[17:44] in isolated it's not going to reach them
[17:47] we need to be more um we need to put
[17:50] more effort into it question do we still
[17:53] have
[17:55] uh do we still have the uh Block action
[17:58] plan place for or
[18:02] not so my or my recollection for the
[18:07] Block action teams I know the Community
[18:09] Foundation um had a program that had a
[18:13] few um I'm not as familiar with that
[18:16] particular program um so I would have to
[18:19] get more information to potentially
[18:21] bring that back reason I'm saying that
[18:23] is this would be a fantastic leverage
[18:26] that we could pull that use Block action
[18:30] uh teams to essentially reach out to
[18:32] that's the purpose of the block team to
[18:34] reach people um
[18:36] or for purely for purpose of AG so any
[18:41] something you might want to consider
[18:43] again I think we need to be system
[18:45] systematic about this to more or less
[18:48] categorize every every type of Outreach
[18:51] that we can undertake to reach seniors
[18:54] be it theer be it the um direct uh
[19:00] direct communication or be it leveraging
[19:03] from the existing mechanism that might
[19:05] be in place somebody has to work on that
[19:08] and make it very systematic so that way
[19:10] we don't have to constantly review the
[19:12] whole thing over again yeah sorry yeah
[19:15] and and a good example of that is aanus
[19:17] Village they do a terrific job offering
[19:20] things over Zoom that are really
[19:22] interesting you know like singing guitar
[19:24] lessons you know exercise programs a lot
[19:28] of things that they reach a large
[19:32] [Music]
[19:34] audience they're two things but they
[19:37] both have a lot of programming along
[19:39] these lines so even if we don't want to
[19:41] do our own programming we could that we
[19:44] could link people to that existing
[19:47] network of programs which there is a fee
[19:50] you have to be a member of aus in order
[19:52] to use the programs but the fee is
[19:54] pretty minimal and it doesn't matter
[19:56] where you live you can move that work so
[19:59] those would be we could leverage what's
[20:01] already out there rather than creating
[20:04] our own if we didn't want I think it's
[20:05] really end up being some of all you have
[20:07] to go all of them
[20:10] yeah but mainly I think the 50 plus was
[20:14] really good I I did a pretty good review
[20:17] of it because I had to present it and
[20:20] just letting people know you know never
[20:22] heard of it and they have you know tax
[20:26] he you can have tax help you can have
[20:30] technology help you can have we taxi
[20:35] they can take you
[20:37] to it's pretty
[20:40] good I think 50 plus is pretty popular
[20:44] and pretty well known throughout the
[20:46] community that's my my my take on that
[20:49] [Music]
[20:53] yeah not not the group I'm in oh
[20:56] really oh yeah that's not quite no I
[21:00] it's I think it's it's it has room to be
[21:05] yeah yeah everything you know everything
[21:07] has room to improve oh yeah but that
[21:09] being said I think there are some
[21:11] baseline stuff that I think Community as
[21:13] a whole is pretty well aware of but if
[21:16] you want to expand the awareness beyond
[21:18] what what it is today we have to do some
[21:21] work I think we have to be systematic
[21:23] about it we can't just every time review
[21:27] one of these things come out we say okay
[21:29] what do we do now I mean to me
[21:34] that's that's not
[21:36] sufficient people thinking
[21:40] anything augmenting the plan or Chang
[21:48] anything I like the idea the plan I
[21:53] think because that goes along with
[21:56] community
[21:59] uh it handles a lot of what the
[22:04] A out is what what our seniors are
[22:08] interested in uh going over adding to
[22:12] how we get the information out
[22:15] there my suggestion would be because
[22:19] there uh obviously the work plan has all
[22:22] of the different domains that are based
[22:24] upon um age friendly and um what our
[22:27] recertification was um given that city
[22:31] council kind of approved the the kind of
[22:33] the direction and the two plans I think
[22:36] it might be good to focus on those two
[22:38] areas and obviously um communication and
[22:41] marketing can fall under components of
[22:43] those two events um but not wanting to
[22:48] deviate too much because again the two
[22:50] events that we have are going to take a
[22:53] decent amount of planning and
[22:55] preparation maybe in that next year
[22:58] maybe there is a focus on um and that is
[23:01] one of the components that I know um not
[23:04] to get too far ahead but the isolation
[23:07] and loneliness that was um included in
[23:09] some of the uh subcommittee reports that
[23:12] was part of the um some of the focus
[23:15] that I think um the health there wanted
[23:18] to kind of bring a springboard to some
[23:21] of those
[23:22] conversations so it might be good to do
[23:25] some of the focus on that and then maybe
[23:27] as you go through that process maybe it
[23:30] is looking at maybe focusing on that for
[23:33] the the next work plan so that we can
[23:35] have a slightly larger conversation on
[23:38] that and obviously there's there are
[23:40] components that will come with the two
[23:43] events that you're planning but um when
[23:46] you start to add a lot of other pieces
[23:52] um it it's and it it I feel weird saying
[23:55] this but it's March already
[23:58] um and time is definitely going pretty
[24:01] quickly um the the events are going to
[24:04] come sooner be before we know it so um
[24:09] to add a lot of additional things on top
[24:11] of that might be a lot for the
[24:13] commission to take on at least at this
[24:15] point with two events that need to be
[24:17] worked on as well so that would be my
[24:20] suggestion is to put some of those
[24:22] pieces as subsets because they
[24:25] absolutely relate to the two events that
[24:28] the commission is going to be planning
[24:30] and then maybe we can look at
[24:32] highlighting some of those other um
[24:34] pieces more in depth um after the
[24:38] events those ideas that were mentioned
[24:41] today they can go under the notes column
[24:43] and we can add some
[24:45] suggestion are so we want to make some
[24:47] things explicit and not let them go so
[24:51] we could just add them in that area not
[24:53] any of the big categories we're going to
[24:55] keep with the domains and and add the
[24:57] emergency prepar
[24:59] we so I think all ideas are great but I
[25:03] think we should get written down in the
[25:05] notes section so if you could maybe I
[25:09] don't know write them down and hand them
[25:11] in and we
[25:13] can
[25:16] because WR them to you send them to me
[25:22] to Jamie and she could compile it yes
[25:24] and that will be included yes
[25:28] in our minds like we don't want to
[25:30] forget anything
[25:32] um because I remember when I was the one
[25:35] that gave the community surveys to
[25:37] Bridgepoint and to the
[25:39] teres and um so at bridg point it was
[25:44] fine they didn't have any problem with
[25:46] it but they were concerned that they
[25:47] didn't have enough residents that would
[25:49] be able to
[25:51] participate a large percentage of their
[25:53] residents are um quite ill or whatever
[25:57] and so but they willingly took them and
[26:00] then when we only got a few back I
[26:02] talked to the director and um I I said
[26:08] well maybe do you think it would be
[26:09] possible I know that some of the clients
[26:11] can't fill it out but they might be able
[26:13] to work this in do you think their their
[26:16] family member could fill it out on their
[26:18] behalf and they said they would try that
[26:20] and we get them like 14 or 16 more so
[26:24] that so you know they they didn't think
[26:26] of that so it was kind of a it's
[26:28] important to show your face and I
[26:31] brought little little gift things to and
[26:35] anyway but I want to point out the
[26:37] difference when I went to The
[26:38] Terraces um the reception it was a week
[26:42] later the reception didn't know what I
[26:44] was talking about you know she didn't
[26:46] know what to do with these things so I
[26:48] said why don't you take them and then
[26:49] I'll talk to the director again and then
[26:52] maybe you can figure out she will let
[26:55] you know you know how to proceed it
[26:57] turns out that they we wanted them we
[26:59] knew that everyone had a mailbox that
[27:01] was internal not from the post office so
[27:04] a box that people could just pick up
[27:05] their stuff and we wanted them just put
[27:07] in there so it turns out that um that
[27:11] the Terrace's required a letter of
[27:14] endorsement um in order to do that they
[27:17] couldn't just stick things in the boxes
[27:19] so that's the first thing first time we
[27:22] had heard of it and also Janie we you
[27:25] know we didn't know we had to do that
[27:26] and so it was kind of too late at that
[27:29] point to figure out like who do we what
[27:30] do we do that what do we say and and we
[27:33] just thought it was kind of a barrier to
[27:35] giving good service to their clients
[27:36] because they have the most independent
[27:38] people over there vast majority anyway
[27:42] so so we didn't get very many from the
[27:44] terroristes actually and I think we
[27:48] would have gotten a lot more if they had
[27:51] access to our stuff you know they would
[27:52] have participated so we have to you know those nuances so having that
[27:57] example then we we don't do that again
[27:59] you know we get the letter of
[28:00] endorsement whatever it's going to be if
[28:02] we want to go in there or make a talk or
[28:04] do something like that even though I
[28:06] knew people from the inside they weren't
[28:07] able to move mountains for me so yeah
[28:12] maybe if you were there it would have
[28:15] been okay so anyway if you could just
[28:17] email your suggestions to Jamie that
[28:19] would be great and then I was wondering
[28:22] I saw a little bit of a conflict I just
[28:24] want to point out I don't know where it
[28:26] is maybe maybe you guys know but you
[28:28] know we speak about this speaker series
[28:30] but I don't see it explicitly in here in
[28:33] the work plan do does anybody know where
[28:35] it
[28:37] is it was proposed as part of the
[28:42] socializing um social participation
[28:46] right but I just don't see it at the
[28:47] work plan do you do you see it I don't
[28:50] see it because it was just mentioned and
[28:51] we were going to discuss it later so I
[28:55] guess we can discuss it right now
[28:58] and I think put it in however that would
[29:01] become another event we already have two
[29:03] events with it I mean that's I thought
[29:06] that's what bill was working on forood
[29:08] well wasn't it we were thinking it would
[29:10] be an outgrowth of the health fair right
[29:14] it's to we try to get that organized and
[29:17] but the speakers would then there'll be
[29:19] many topics that will not be covered
[29:21] adequately at the health fair so we
[29:23] thought that would provide the basis for
[29:26] developing the speaker youring
[29:28] so speaker series will something that
[29:31] happens after the that's the way I saw
[29:34] it but it's just not not here at all and
[29:35] I thought it was kind of a really
[29:37] important thing that we wanted to do
[29:38] going we were going to be working with
[29:41] Chris so Clarity on that
[29:44] um the the presentations were a
[29:47] component of the health fair so the
[29:50] health fair is already listed um there
[29:53] is an item on our agenda so that we can
[29:55] provide additional information on how
[29:58] speakers and the series have um
[30:01] historically been done through our adult
[30:03] 50 plus program if that is something um
[30:07] that the senior commission would like to
[30:09] add after that and as um commissioner
[30:12] gallager Thompson mentioned um it
[30:16] is the starting point was supposed to be
[30:20] with the health fair and to hopefully
[30:22] then lead into some additional program
[30:25] uh program elements so that is is if
[30:28] that is something that after we get to
[30:31] that um part if we do want to expand
[30:35] that or if there is a specific topic or
[30:38] area that the commission wants to cover
[30:40] we can absolutely um add that that is
[30:43] item number six which we'll get to but I
[30:45] thought if if it's an outshoot or growth
[30:48] of of the healthare which is the way it
[30:50] was originally invisioned actually we'
[30:52] going have speakers or or a panel in
[30:54] another room at the healthare as one
[30:57] option and then the speakers was going
[30:59] to come out I just think we should um
[31:01] just like we did the other topic that we
[31:04] should put it in the notes that it you
[31:07] know somehow get in writing there
[31:08] because it's not it's not on the work
[31:10] plan at
[31:11] all so we
[31:14] and one suggestion and so I know that is
[31:19] and we will definitely do our best to
[31:21] get the high Lev pieces um but the just
[31:26] similar to our minutes as as well it's
[31:28] not necessarily a line item detail of
[31:31] everything that we're going to be doing
[31:35] that would be a lot of recordkeeping so
[31:37] again the work plan is supposed to be
[31:39] the the the generalized Direction um as
[31:42] an example for events you can get as
[31:45] granular as there's the layout there's
[31:48] the marketing there's the presentations
[31:51] all of those pieces so again the idea
[31:54] behind each of those pieces is the
[31:57] highlevel piece pieces versus each
[32:00] individual segment we can do some uh
[32:04] summaries so that the commission
[32:07] understands what each of those pieces
[32:09] and what goes into those events but it's
[32:12] not going to be an all exhaustive
[32:14] listing of all ev Everything um that
[32:18] goes into each of those events if the
[32:21] commission again that's how we've
[32:24] generally handled um the the work plan
[32:26] minutes
[32:28] those types of
[32:30] things I think we are going to need
[32:32] notes for the for the health fair
[32:35] because there's so many moving parts
[32:41] thator thank
[32:45] you I think we
[32:47] are
[32:50] Pages there are lots of moving parts and
[32:53] different aspects of coordination that
[32:56] we should go on so I don't know if
[32:58] that's something that we should be doing
[33:00] should we be keeping those that Detail
[33:03] no absolutely so Clarity on that is uh
[33:07] because the com the comments were
[33:10] specifically to the work plan the work
[33:13] plan is not going to be an all-inclusive
[33:15] list now I'm not that's not to say that
[33:18] the subcommittee and working with staff
[33:21] absolutely there's going to be and M the
[33:25] um what the subcommittee has submitted
[33:28] um even two for their um ad hoc
[33:31] subcommittee reports those are going to
[33:33] be coming forward to the commission but
[33:36] all of those notes are not going to be
[33:39] individually listed in the work plan I
[33:41] think that's what I'm trying to convey
[33:44] is that this is not necessarily going to
[33:47] be the the main place where you're going
[33:50] to reference all of those individual
[33:53] notes so by no means am I saying don't
[33:56] take notes um obviously for some of
[33:58] those events that is going to be helpful
[34:01] but in regards to the work plan it's not
[34:04] going to be individually listed but we
[34:07] can do basic summaries to help identify
[34:11] some of those things going along with
[34:12] the events that we're going on I don't
[34:15] need I have a loud voice so um can I
[34:19] propose that simple solution if we would
[34:22] like to have notes and we will
[34:24] increasingly need those notes whoever is
[34:27] making the notes send them to Jamie she
[34:31] can send it to all of us and we keep
[34:34] those notes because we are the ones who
[34:36] are going to need that she doesn't need
[34:37] to put them on the work plan they won't
[34:40] right but the adop committees or the
[34:42] working cars to take notes about their
[34:45] discussions and yes but it doesn't reach
[34:47] all
[34:49] of that's go yes so process wise um and
[34:55] that's again the benefit of
[34:59] the the different components so again
[35:02] when things need to come back to the
[35:04] full commission the sub the ad hoc
[35:06] subcommittee usually provides or I
[35:09] include that in the report that goes
[35:11] along with that agenda item all of that
[35:14] information is included in the packet
[35:16] and is sent out to the full commission
[35:19] now individually I cannot send ad hoc
[35:23] committee notes to everyone in between
[35:26] all the meetings because that again if
[35:28] it's to the full commission it needs to
[35:30] be a part of the packet where the full
[35:32] commission gets that again that's the
[35:34] benefit of why ad hoc committees are
[35:37] created or working pairs are created so
[35:40] it makes the commission a little bit
[35:42] more M to do very specific tasks related
[35:46] to the events or the topics that you're
[35:49] working on So within the subcommittee or
[35:51] your working pair you can work on that
[35:54] information obviously in conjunction or
[35:56] collaboration
[35:58] staff but it it has to be specific to
[36:02] those tasks obviously what the full
[36:04] commission needs to get will be included
[36:06] in those packets for those regular
[36:08] meetings special meetings um but
[36:12] everything won't go to
[36:16] everyone um I I know it seems a little
[36:18] bit specific but again it's to make sure
[36:23] that we are
[36:24] not um making a little bit of
[36:28] uh messiness with um with the the brown
[36:32] act
[36:35] yes both clear on that I know it's clear
[36:38] as mud but if there's if there are more
[36:42] questions um I I can I can help navigate
[36:46] those but again um similar to today's
[36:49] agenda things that need to go to the
[36:52] full commission were included in today's
[36:55] packet um the ad hoc committee the
[36:57] working pairs can absolutely send you
[37:01] know within those specific groups on the
[37:03] tasks that they've been assigned you can
[37:06] create those notes work together on
[37:09] those different elements what needs to
[37:11] be brought forward if you have questions
[37:13] on that we staff can assist with
[37:16] bringing that forward to the full
[37:19] commission does that
[37:25] help okay moving along
[37:28] well to the senior
[37:37] healthare so what you have um included
[37:40] here for the senior health fair um there
[37:45] have been some really good um meetings
[37:48] um and uh once I go over a little bit
[37:52] that was a portion of the presentation
[37:55] that also came forward during the The
[37:57] Joint meeting with city council as well
[37:59] and again as the commission um
[38:02] Representatives mentioned a lot of
[38:04] support um also included the ad hoc
[38:07] subcommittee report which has elements
[38:10] of what was presented to city council um
[38:13] addition to a few others but I will turn
[38:15] it over to um commissioner Gallagher
[38:18] Thompson if you wanted uh because there
[38:20] are some specific things that the uh ad
[38:23] hoc subcommittee wanted to get feedback
[38:26] from the full commission on
[38:29] yeah thank you yeah so we're very
[38:32] excited about this it seems like a great
[38:34] opportunity and really happy to be um at
[38:39] this point because I think we a really
[38:41] good point in the planning process we
[38:44] haven't contacted any speakers yet we
[38:47] haven't gotten into any of any of the weeds because had to be approved by
[38:53] the city council and now we have the
[38:55] opportunity to get your your all
[38:57] feedback so I think one of the key
[39:01] issues ising of speakers how are going
[39:05] to divide up the time and what should be
[39:08] the focus in in the way of content so I
[39:12] think that's an important discussion
[39:14] item we have put things into two big
[39:17] buckets you might say which is promoting
[39:19] mental health wellness and promoting
[39:22] physical health and well-being and we
[39:25] thought under each of those there would
[39:27] a keynote
[39:28] speaker who would give
[39:34] highlights because in 45 minutes you
[39:37] can't do much more than that you can
[39:39] give you know kind of the vi 30,000 feet
[39:42] and that's where this series hopefully
[39:46] develop to go into more depth you know
[39:49] for example on brain health we have a
[39:53] great deal of research now that have
[39:55] very specific recommendations for people
[39:58] there's a list of them uh and if we do
[40:00] these things we might prevent dementia
[40:02] in ourselves or we might delay the
[40:05] progression if we have a relative with
[40:07] dementia that seems pretty important for
[40:10] older people to know about but what you
[40:12] can do in 45 minutes is mention these
[40:15] things but you can't really go into much
[40:17] detail about how do you do these things
[40:20] how do you make these lifestyle Ked so
[40:23] and what are some of the obstacles
[40:25] you're going to face so um we have Bill
[40:30] and I have volunteer to generate the
[40:33] speakers and what Jim is going to do is
[40:36] to help us figure out the topics within
[40:38] the subtopics within the speakers so
[40:42] these know Bo network of people they can
[40:46] talk about a 100 topics under mental
[40:49] health you know and another 150 under
[40:52] physical health and wellness right so we
[40:53] have to narrow it down to what do we
[40:56] think is the most
[40:57] seems going to fit right right so
[41:00] thought getting your feedback what do
[41:02] you think is the most relevant so we can
[41:05] choose the speaker better um is a very
[41:09] important topic for discussion a second
[41:11] topic for discussion has to do with the
[41:14] um setting up the working pairs uh we
[41:17] really need to do that we really need
[41:20] the help of working Pairs and we have
[41:22] several topics there that you see that
[41:24] were uh suggested uh like Refreshments
[41:28] vendors giveaways what goes on the flyer
[41:34] um so that's important for today and the
[41:37] third thing that I think is very
[41:39] important that relates to all of this is
[41:41] the structure how are we going to
[41:43] structure it uh are we going to have for
[41:47] example two keynote speakers where each
[41:50] of them talks for about 45 minutes then
[41:53] there's a 15minute Q&A and in between
[41:56] times people go to the various
[41:59] vendors that's one way to structure it
[42:02] another way to structure it is to have
[42:04] panels so instead of focusing on one
[42:08] main speaker for each topic area you
[42:10] could have three or four that delve into
[42:14] their particular area of expertise right
[42:16] so on the mental health mental health
[42:19] and wellness you could have somebody who
[42:21] talks about depression somebody who
[42:23] knows something about anxiety somebody
[42:25] else who talks about family stress so
[42:28] you could have several speakers on a
[42:30] panel taking up roughly the same amount
[42:33] of time maybe a little bit longer time
[42:36] um and that might be more
[42:38] interesting another thought on structure
[42:41] was to have um choices for people to
[42:45] have choices rather than have everyone
[42:48] sitting in a room listening to one
[42:50] speaker or a panel of speakers maybe
[42:53] people would prefer to have choices as
[42:56] to what they would go to and so it would
[42:58] be perhaps good to have shorter times
[43:02] multiple speakers multiple topics but
[43:04] shorter
[43:06] times those are the three big options we
[43:09] talked about and I would say amongst Jim
[43:11] and Bill and I and Jamie we and Bridget
[43:15] was there yeah and Chris was there too
[43:17] and I don't think we came to any
[43:19] conclusion I think we came to the to the
[43:22] conclusion that you all needed to direct
[43:24] us as to how to structure it so that
[43:27] will determine then the choice of the
[43:29] speakers it will also help with the
[43:32] vendors because we want the vendors to
[43:34] relate to the topics the speakers are
[43:36] talking
[43:37] about um so I hope that's helpful to
[43:42] give this kind of a frame of vers to get
[43:44] started so yeah so one of the things
[43:47] that I had in my mind when I very very
[43:51] initially thought about this topic was
[43:53] that we would have a time from about
[43:57] 10:30 in the morning till 2:00 in the
[44:00] afternoon which makes us have quite a
[44:03] lot of time to have several
[44:05] speakers um I had also talked with Los
[44:08] alos Hill at that point Kavita tanka was
[44:11] somebody I could speak with and I asked
[44:14] if she could provide a meal because
[44:18] there's not much participation from Los
[44:20] alos Hills and Jim and I are from there
[44:23] and so let her give us food and she had
[44:25] said yes we can explore it so I don't
[44:27] know how far whether that is a good ask
[44:30] or not but I thought maybe lunchtime can
[44:33] be sponsored from Los Altos Hill that
[44:36] gives us a break because Los Altos is
[44:38] giving us space who braks people yes and
[44:42] then uh to have it in different rooms
[44:45] I'm not sure if we have so much space at
[44:47] the center I don't know if we have just
[44:49] one room or what the facilities are that
[44:52] are available that would determine what
[44:54] we can do there are multiple things
[44:59] available so prority on that um
[45:04] the here at the center we have multiple
[45:07] spaces reserved on both of the days
[45:09] depending on um obviously the the first
[45:13] uh I should say first priority Choice
[45:16] was the date in September just because
[45:19] the fall fling is planned for October so
[45:21] having two backtack events might be a
[45:23] little bit um stressful uh to do things
[45:28] um all in one month um but that backup
[45:31] date in October for the health there is
[45:34] there so space is not an option or space
[45:37] is not an issue um here at the community
[45:40] center for the health fair we do have
[45:42] multiple spaces which includes this room
[45:45] um Manzanita across the way um the large
[45:48] space Grand Oak um and addition to um I
[45:52] think apricot which is also off of the
[45:55] um the court yard in regards to time
[45:59] frame um the original time that uh the
[46:02] commission had discussed was noon to 3
[46:06] but it still kind of covers that
[46:07] lunchtime time frame um so the current
[46:11] time frame um can be expanded a little
[46:14] bit um although the longer uh time
[46:17] frames it kind of spreads out um our
[46:20] experience in Recreation is that
[46:23] sometimes when you give too much time it
[46:26] spreads out and getting vendors to
[46:29] commit to that amount of time um can be
[46:32] a little bit more challenging so a
[46:35] condensed time um you might get a better
[46:38] turnout um as well um one other
[46:41] suggestion and this is open the
[46:43] commission can provide feedback to the
[46:46] ad hoc subcommittee as far as what the
[46:49] um setup might be for the presentations
[46:54] uh you might have different opinions but
[46:57] uh the at least
[46:59] staff simple is tends to be a little bit
[47:03] better especially for first time um as
[47:06] you work to plan events sometimes when
[47:10] it gets overly complicated um the public
[47:14] may get confused so my suggestion would
[47:17] definitely be to air on the side of
[47:20] Simplicity just to make the messaging a
[47:22] little bit easier to the public but uh
[47:27] whatever feedback um you would like to
[47:30] uh share with the subcommittee just
[47:32] wanted to share those additional um my
[47:35] pieces of
[47:38] information I'm was wondering I just it
[47:40] just came my mind that another way to do
[47:43] it would be like from 12: to 1 or
[47:46] whatever time either I thought we could
[47:48] maybe start the whole thing out with the
[47:50] panel because it's going to take a lot
[47:52] of people to have multiple speakers in
[47:55] different rooms and be very if it's
[47:58] simultaneous with all the vendors so if
[48:01] we separated out the panel if that's the
[48:04] way it's going to be like 122 or
[48:07] whatever and then the um the exhibits
[48:10] will be a some two-hour block because
[48:13] they I think that's enough time two two
[48:15] and a half I don't know what the timing
[48:16] is exactly but gr Road I think was three
[48:19] hours total not sure anyway it was just
[48:23] another idea of how to make it maybe
[48:26] simp a little
[48:28] bit Grant Park was two hours total Jane
[48:32] I'm not quite understanding what you
[48:34] mean by a panel if we talking about
[48:35] different speakers so they'd be talking
[48:38] on different topics well that's one one
[48:41] thing we also discussed the panel I see
[48:44] that it was two different I see two
[48:46] different things okay so let me just
[48:48] finish what I was saying earlier since
[48:50] Jamie gave some of the answers so the
[48:52] idea in my mind was that we would have
[48:55] in one room some some either posters or
[49:00] self-paced
[49:02] learning things so that we don't have
[49:05] everyone
[49:07] attending everything at once so if they
[49:10] don't want to attend let's say Dementia
[49:11] or fall prevention they've learned about
[49:13] fall prevention they don't attend there
[49:15] they come and look at some other posters
[49:18] or some interactive
[49:21] vendors and so I was thinking just maybe
[49:24] of two rooms so lectures in one that
[49:26] would be staggered one time uh one the
[49:29] other time another we would have vendors
[49:31] coming in at different time so we don't
[49:33] take up their time and people have a
[49:35] choice to attend something or not and
[49:37] have no more than two or three topics we
[49:40] can have several but it's too much
[49:43] nobody will say it's not a
[49:47] conference that's
[49:49] it so Jim in the past you've had
[49:52] somebody you've had
[49:54] events how many are we talking you know
[49:58] if you're doing
[50:00] space and
[50:03] then it could be split up so many
[50:08] differents
[50:12] ands adult 50 offers more of a space so
[50:16] that way we could do a um
[50:19] educational sign up that type of thing
[50:22] and many
[50:25] vendors I mean so they're not slashed
[50:28] by the event that was held down at Grant
[50:32] Park there were probably about 30 there
[50:36] were probably about 30 vendors that
[50:38] could um comfortably fit in the Grant
[50:43] Park multi-purpose room that that
[50:46] particular event was 2 hours and it was
[50:49] just vendors there was not a
[50:52] presentation or Workshop component so
[50:56] that that the space um that I would
[50:59] suggest is to have the vendors located
[51:02] in the grand oak because that will be um
[51:05] the easiest fit for where the vendors
[51:07] Could Happen um for those that might
[51:11] have heard about our open house this
[51:13] past uh weekend um recreation parks and
[51:17] recreation actually hosted and it was
[51:19] obviously not specific to um a senior
[51:22] health fair but it was um a compilation
[51:26] of what our department and the the city
[51:30] um potentially offers whether it was
[51:32] through classes through our contract
[51:34] instructors or Community organizations
[51:37] like the Los Altos Stage Company or the
[51:41] history museum we had um roughly 25
[51:45] vendors um here in the community center
[51:48] and our layout was a little bit
[51:50] different um we had the vendors in the
[51:53] lobby and some of the different spaces
[51:56] so depending on what the um consensus
[51:59] the commission would like to do um we
[52:02] obviously the grand oak space is a very
[52:05] large space that can accommodate much
[52:08] more than um 30 vendors um we could
[52:11] easily do that depending on the the
[52:14] focus of topics that the commission
[52:16] would like to specify for the event um
[52:21] in regards to spaces again this space um
[52:25] Manzanita and some of of the uh and um
[52:28] apricot are available so if you wanted
[52:31] depending on the direction the
[52:33] commission wanted if you want to do uh
[52:37] again one two to three topics um so that
[52:40] you have different spaces my one
[52:43] suggestion is that um the event is
[52:46] currently planned from noon to 3 3 hours
[52:50] is uh is a decent it is a decent amount
[52:54] of time and you will have some that some
[52:57] members of the community that may just
[52:59] want to see the vendors you may have
[53:02] some that will come specifically for the
[53:04] speakers that you potentially plan but
[53:08] you will want to probably plan for both
[53:11] of those options um because you may and
[53:13] then you will have some that want to
[53:15] participate in both um that both will be
[53:18] a draw so you'll just want to make sure
[53:21] that you provide opportunities for the public if they want to do one or the
[53:27] other or both um as the commission kind
[53:30] of determines what structure and f um
[53:35] topics you want to focus
[53:38] on one thing I forgot to mention and I
[53:41] apologize for this was that what Bill
[53:44] had what bill would like to do is
[53:46] present conceptual framework so he
[53:49] envisioned this as being from about like
[53:52] 1210 to 12:30 20 minutes he would do an
[53:56] overview what is healthy aging what do
[53:58] we mean by that and how so we mean
[54:02] physical health Mental Health social um
[54:05] and Technology awareness and all that
[54:08] environment excuse me so he would talk
[54:10] about all the various components of
[54:13] healthy aging how do we promote that and
[54:16] then the choice of the the panelist we
[54:19] have three p three people on the panel
[54:22] they would give a brief overview of
[54:24] their topic let's say it was
[54:27] uh mental health and next person talks
[54:29] about physical health next person talks
[54:31] about brain health then those three
[54:34] speakers let's pretend for a moment
[54:37] those three speakers then go to the
[54:38] three breakout rooms the three large
[54:40] rooms additional rooms and do their oneh
[54:44] hour talk where they go in more depth on
[54:47] that
[54:48] topic so the vendors are happening in
[54:50] the O in the grand oak room and in the
[54:54] other three rooms you'd have a speaker
[54:56] but the public has been introduced to
[54:58] the talk of the speaker by these little
[55:00] bites that they've done in their
[55:02] panel so some speaker might get only a
[55:05] few people and another speaker will get
[55:07] an awful lot because they're more
[55:09] interested so that was how uh he thought
[55:12] to kick it off with a with a keynote on
[55:15] healthy aging what is that and then the
[55:18] panel um giving the bites the sound bit
[55:21] so to speak and then the three in depth
[55:23] presentations in three different rooms
[55:26] so so they would have a choice of any
[55:28] attending one of those three probably
[55:32] people will get up and walk around and
[55:34] mo around and we going spend 50 minutes
[55:37] in one and sometime in another and then
[55:39] they'll go to the vendor so we we saw it
[55:42] as an opportunity to kind of showcase
[55:44] the knowledge in this area about healthy
[55:48] aging and to bring to people's attention
[55:51] the the different dimensions of it we're
[55:53] all aware because we're this is what we
[55:55] do right this life but for the average
[55:59] person that they may not be so aware so
[56:02] I think that was part of our part of our
[56:05] thinking so I apologize that I didn't
[56:07] present that properly at the
[56:09] beginning thank you does anyone want to
[56:12] add more any suggestions any other
[56:14] suggestions for the ad hoc committee yes
[56:18] you I just wanted to say in
[56:21] consideration period is open from 12: to
[56:23] 3 it's people be coming in at two at one
[56:28] and they're going to miss that so I
[56:30] don't I think we need to consider how
[56:32] it's set up how it's marketed and during
[56:36] that whole time and keep in mind we also
[56:39] want educate the public but also give
[56:42] them the opportunity to talk to the
[56:45] vendors and then find out where the
[56:48] which then
[56:51] speak quick question do we have any uh
[56:55] data from the
[56:58] we have do we have any information from
[57:00] the grant uh Park program about how many
[57:05] people went to how many vendors a how
[57:08] many which vendors did you have and
[57:11] which were popular do we have that yes
[57:15] all the vendor list that was utilized
[57:18] for um the Grant Park event in October
[57:21] last year was shared with the full
[57:24] commission so we do have those vendor
[57:27] names and contacts and that is I think a
[57:30] good starting point template that we can
[57:33] then start to build off of depending on
[57:36] um maybe the next conversation could be
[57:39] what Focus topics um can be for those um
[57:44] the presentations that are given at the
[57:47] health fair and again it's not a a
[57:50] limited list but it could be you know if
[57:53] it we can't quite get a speaker for that
[57:55] particular day as Cher Cohen mentioned
[57:58] it could potentially spring board spring
[58:00] board into um some other um speaker
[58:04] series later on down the the line for
[58:07] the adult 50 plus program um Can might
[58:11] tell us what was most popular so that can be our
[58:15] current uh you know speakers on no I was
[58:19] there quite a while so staff and I don't
[58:23] know I think I'm not sure who else went
[58:25] but it was we I don't think you guys
[58:28] counted how many people actually came
[58:29] but it was crowded and people it was it
[58:32] was full from beginning to end
[58:34] practically and I went in there and
[58:36] there was a lot of good energy in there
[58:39] you know it was a nice it was the right
[58:41] amount of exhibits for the number of
[58:44] vendors I mean for the number of it was
[58:47] match between the residents that came
[58:49] people and then but I think I I just
[58:52] agree a little with Jamie I thought it
[58:54] was very I thought it was too small of a
[58:57] room there wasn't any breathing space
[58:59] when it was really it was got quite busy
[59:01] actually so we're going to have a much
[59:03] bigger room and um and we'll probably
[59:07] have more vendors but we don't want to
[59:09] overdo it with the vendors so yeah and
[59:13] but it was so popular really was and if
[59:15] you see that open that list on your
[59:17] email we can send it out again it was
[59:20] very it was very diverse and and
[59:23] comprehensive so we'll just have that as
[59:25] a starting I me you you guys SW
[59:28] so I have another question um I know it
[59:32] is popular for events uh for Health Fair
[59:35] events for
[59:37] Indians um to have a nurse on the
[59:40] premisis who would measure your blood
[59:43] pressure and can we have that or it's
[59:45] not they didn't have it but we could add
[59:47] that that would be great
[59:51] that would a nurse come we would get
[59:54] someone yeah who get nurses or Public
[59:57] Health Department yeah I think that
[59:59] would be easy to get nurses do that it's they like to volunteer and do stuff
[1:00:03] like that but anyway I mean that's just
[1:00:06] my I think it would be a good addition
[1:00:08] for all cultures you know because that's
[1:00:10] like laying on the hands you know they
[1:00:12] like that and some places do blood
[1:00:14] sugars and other stuff like that but
[1:00:16] blood pressures are the easiest they're
[1:00:18] not invasive and people like to do that
[1:00:21] you a great idea they go to the drug
[1:00:23] stores they their arms in the the
[1:00:25] machine they love it
[1:00:26] yeah that's a draw I
[1:00:33] think thank you okay so you have enough
[1:00:35] like things to add to so you can have
[1:00:38] another committee and like maybe think take some of the stuff for a
[1:00:44] proposal yeah what I would like though
[1:00:47] to get some working pairs going because
[1:00:50] um I think we need to get started you
[1:00:52] know the vendors oh sorry again yeah
[1:00:56] then I think we need to get the working
[1:00:58] pairs started for example we're talking
[1:01:00] about May or more that a lot
[1:01:05] of do that sort of thing you
[1:01:13] know overall you
[1:01:16] know but vendors the other uh
[1:01:20] Refreshments you mentioned about the
[1:01:22] possability but I seem like some IDE how
[1:01:26] many people would show up and it
[1:01:28] wouldn't be just lunch it would be
[1:01:30] drinks and you know healthy snacks and
[1:01:33] so it wouldn't be lunch yeah since we're
[1:01:35] meeting at noon like grab go it's got to
[1:01:38] be but I can help to work on that I can
[1:01:40] talk to the uh talk to Jamie and get
[1:01:44] information I have I don't have a
[1:01:47] problem and to call does working with
[1:01:50] vendors means calling them and giving
[1:01:52] them an idea of when I can help with
[1:01:54] that I think we have a form letter also
[1:01:56] that was
[1:01:57] developed you know go ahead so when
[1:02:02] determining the vendors I think to
[1:02:05] coordinate with who the speakers are so
[1:02:07] that way it's a it's a you're adding to
[1:02:11] each other if you want to say and we're
[1:02:13] not doing a
[1:02:16] particular where you hits and Miss
[1:02:18] they're all pretty much in the same area
[1:02:21] whether it's brain health whether it's
[1:02:24] isolation or what ever it is so
[1:02:26] coordinate so who the speakers are going
[1:02:29] to be I think will also lead into who
[1:02:34] the vendors we go
[1:02:36] for this will be a continued um topic uh
[1:02:41] for the the next commission meeting in
[1:02:44] April so maybe a good starting point
[1:02:47] commissioner gets it is to start with
[1:02:50] the template list that we had for the
[1:02:52] event in October and then once sub
[1:02:56] committee from the um discussion that
[1:02:59] heard the def that the commission shared
[1:03:01] at this meeting as the ad hoc committee
[1:03:04] fine tunes the um the speakers at the
[1:03:08] next meeting you can share kind of what
[1:03:10] that direction is and then we can
[1:03:11] continue to enhance the vendor list from
[1:03:15] there can I ask a
[1:03:18] question well I'm just saying you've got
[1:03:21] if you have the gr vote way over there
[1:03:23] you're talking about this particular one
[1:03:27] apricot yes so we have grand oak we have
[1:03:31] this space the one across the way which
[1:03:33] is Manzanita and then we also have um
[1:03:37] apricot which is the space closest to
[1:03:41] the uh
[1:03:42] playground I'm just thinking of the flow
[1:03:45] of if you have people that are in the
[1:03:48] vendors thinking of the flow I know
[1:03:50] you've said you've had fendors in the
[1:03:53] hallways rather than separate everybody
[1:03:57] out regarding things to be able to I I'm
[1:04:02] just wondering if you're gonna have
[1:04:03] speakers do you have the vendors in the
[1:04:06] hallway here as well as over there just
[1:04:10] consideration better
[1:04:12] FL your
[1:04:15] notes all the suggestions and then that
[1:04:17] this ad hoc committee can get
[1:04:25] I'm gonna break my own Rule and say
[1:04:28] something
[1:04:32] here I think it's it's on yeah um so the
[1:04:35] reason I want to speak is partly because
[1:04:38] this was I worked in health and and part
[1:04:41] my mych for a long time um and and the
[1:04:45] city doesn't work in hell so when I
[1:04:50] think particularly as you think about
[1:04:53] the speaker
[1:04:54] program um the city this event we going to be
[1:05:01] brokering
[1:05:03] opportunities for people to learn about
[1:05:06] health care providers vendors Etc and
[1:05:09] the speakers are speaking from their
[1:05:12] area of expertise it should not be the
[1:05:16] city saying this is what we say is
[1:05:19] healthy for you it should be Dr XYZ so
[1:05:23] um and I you know this is something
[1:05:24] Jamie you may want to talk
[1:05:26] gave and our City attorney so I think
[1:05:28] it's very important that the city does
[1:05:31] not offer Health advice I think that
[1:05:34] might mean that commissioner now bu
[1:05:38] maybe doesn't
[1:05:39] speak so um I I just think we have to
[1:05:43] keep in mind the separation of what
[1:05:45] we're doing we're brokering information
[1:05:48] we're not sponsoring it and particularly
[1:05:50] in this day of age of Mis health
[1:05:53] information
[1:05:55] we're just broking opportunities to
[1:05:58] learn more so I I would really like the
[1:06:01] ad hoc committee to focus
[1:06:05] on would having a nurse kind of thing
[1:06:09] also yeah would having one of those also
[1:06:12] become a problem because you have no no
[1:06:14] the the nurse will be from some Health
[1:06:16] Service the vendors will be representing
[1:06:18] the vendors the speaker should have a
[1:06:21] resume from an organization or whatever
[1:06:24] that they're representing so everyone is
[1:06:26] representing themselves and a Health
[1:06:29] Service or whatever but if someone you
[1:06:33] know if a commissioner is speaking about
[1:06:36] what's important medically that's not
[1:06:38] what the city does so I I just was
[1:06:41] getting increasingly ansy and so sorry I
[1:06:44] wanted
[1:06:48] okay thank you very good good
[1:06:50] clarification thank you thank you okay
[1:06:54] so are we move gone go ahead thank you
[1:06:58] um do you have all the um feedback that
[1:07:01] you wanted to to get
[1:07:04] uh any more pairs oh yeah refreshment oh
[1:07:08] we don't talk about that I'm sorry
[1:07:10] giveaway a giveaway some kind of bling
[1:07:13] something you know to uh besides what
[1:07:16] they'll pick up from the vendors they
[1:07:18] vendors usually have things that they
[1:07:19] give away so do we need giveaway we'
[1:07:23] talked about that as possibly
[1:07:26] for example vendors everything they
[1:07:29] wanted they had tons of stuff we were
[1:07:31] thinking a bag um try think
[1:07:36] Jamie add on the vendors had them and so
[1:07:39] everyone had an armful of tote bags so
[1:07:42] we're good with that but I mean if you
[1:07:44] can think of something that's free or
[1:07:46] super cheap we don't have a big
[1:07:49] budget and um yeah so anyway if you you
[1:07:53] know your next meeting perhaps you could
[1:07:55] think of you know this all the little
[1:07:58] sub topics that you want and then we
[1:08:01] will zoom into the working pairs at the
[1:08:03] next meeting would that be in time
[1:08:05] enough I think so we need marketing too
[1:08:08] flyer marketing advertising for this
[1:08:10] thing this event yeah do you folks do
[1:08:14] the Flyers yes um if they're and that
[1:08:17] can be based upon what the um what the
[1:08:22] ad hoc subcommittee comes up with as far
[1:08:25] as the specific topics um and as chair
[1:08:28] Cohen mentioned that could be
[1:08:30] potentially fine-tuned I think the the
[1:08:32] biggest part is the Outreach to the
[1:08:34] vendors which um it looks like we do
[1:08:37] have um a a volunteer through
[1:08:40] commissioner Dixit um and
[1:08:49] then it thank you so much everybody for
[1:08:51] your comments we appreciate them very
[1:08:54] much he the next thing is the B
[1:08:58] bling we have a little we going to do
[1:09:01] that we have there's also a handout that
[1:09:04] came in the packet it's item number five
[1:09:07] page 11 right
[1:09:12] okay everybody read this because it's so
[1:09:19] important uh so we had a wonderful
[1:09:22] meeting with staff cities providing a
[1:09:26] lot of different things which is
[1:09:29] wonderful um I've also talked with cl 55
[1:09:32] and they're so appreciative of that they
[1:09:35] also would like the opportunity to
[1:09:38] utilize the Jingo corn hole the games
[1:09:42] during the other evening uh events
[1:09:46] throughout the year and I'll still try
[1:09:47] it out see how they
[1:09:49] work um entertainment we all have we
[1:09:53] have set thank you very much Bridget
[1:09:56] uh food question that's TB TBD prices
[1:10:01] we're going to those that's on the list
[1:10:04] of things to do I think the first thing
[1:10:07] that needs to be done is the flyer come
[1:10:10] out so that what they're hoping for is
[1:10:12] to be able to get the information so
[1:10:14] that way the Club 55 they can get it on
[1:10:19] the on their calendar as
[1:10:22] well is this a clarifying question um
[1:10:27] because I know there has been um one
[1:10:29] flyer for all of the events and then um
[1:10:33] there probably should be one that is
[1:10:35] specific to the um the enhanced one in
[1:10:39] October um so that is something that we
[1:10:42] can um staff usually assist in create in
[1:10:45] that okay so they for sure wanted to be
[1:10:50] able to get it on the
[1:10:52] all-in-one okay great thank you
[1:10:56] and then on the in hands so that'll be
[1:10:59] super
[1:11:05] okay uh I will say the marketing will be
[1:11:09] an important aspect of it getting a
[1:11:12] writer
[1:11:13] for prior article which I think would
[1:11:17] also benefit for the senior
[1:11:21] healthare
[1:11:23] um and
[1:11:26] I mean the the
[1:11:28] details still working together
[1:11:31] decorations are going to be figuring
[1:11:32] that out use some of of what is already
[1:11:35] out there
[1:11:41] so it's on its way I would say the
[1:11:46] marketing figuring out the decorations
[1:11:49] and getting the word out is really
[1:11:53] what's
[1:11:56] the date what
[1:11:59] that oh the date is October 17th we have
[1:12:07] that and so be last so they will be
[1:12:16] also the idea of amplifying whatever
[1:12:20] marketing
[1:12:21] is we so so yeah so the Flint is October
[1:12:28] yes 17 yes and health fair is September
[1:12:31] yes
[1:12:41] what what can we do what do you need us
[1:12:45] to love that would love the writing of
[1:12:51] article the getting together figuring
[1:12:54] out to
[1:12:56] folks um we have a limit of I think 180
[1:13:00] people in the no how many people can so
[1:13:05] the the room itself can host more um but
[1:13:09] in regards to seating um part of the
[1:13:12] conversation because there was going to
[1:13:14] be music so a small open area where
[1:13:16] people wanted to dance or move around
[1:13:20] but the banquet style is but that's
[1:13:24] taking up the whole Space um is 180 so
[1:13:28] it might be a little bit less but you
[1:13:31] will probably within the three-hour time
[1:13:33] frame we'll have people come and go so
[1:13:37] um the event itself can probably host
[1:13:39] more but at any one given time seaing
[1:13:43] wise probably around 150 with uh
[1:13:46] probably at
[1:13:48] least because some people will just
[1:13:50] mingle correct will just mingle and not
[1:13:53] necessarily sit correct
[1:13:55] in the grand dop room
[1:14:02] yes correct it'll follow along the same Avenue as all other events
[1:14:08] where you pay $10 and you bring a bottle
[1:14:11] wine okay I didn't know
[1:14:14] that and so that way the thought was
[1:14:18] making it free but then I was told
[1:14:21] they're trained everybody's trained so
[1:14:24] don't change
[1:14:34] Co joint there and
[1:14:41] adult
[1:14:47] details I think the marketing and
[1:14:50] getting a theme going it is Halloween
[1:14:52] theme we wanted to get
[1:14:56] and you're talking about little trophies
[1:14:59] that type of thing would be an
[1:15:01] additional
[1:15:03] [Music]
[1:15:10] fun is that fill in now yes it's a
[1:15:14] Halloween thing I read the thing I
[1:15:16] didn't never been to it
[1:15:20] before joint but you oh right
[1:15:25] that's been going on for a while yes CL
[1:15:27] 55 is like every month from May through
[1:15:31] October every month so hopefully our
[1:15:35] commissioners will come and visit the uh
[1:15:38] spring or the club 55s on the third
[1:15:41] Friday of the month starting in
[1:15:45] May um is anybody a good writer I
[1:15:50] pretend that I
[1:15:52] am everything can be edited don't worry
[1:15:55] right would you help me on that
[1:15:59] sure be great so can you do the same
[1:16:03] thing then the dolores's ad is going to
[1:16:06] do come up with subsets of things that
[1:16:09] you want exact tasks that we can
[1:16:11] volunteer to be the working cars for
[1:16:14] yeah for the next meeting and then we
[1:16:16] could know list them up there get let's
[1:16:19] send them out ahead of time so people
[1:16:20] can be thinking get the packet yes you
[1:16:23] know get dores you to get your thing in
[1:16:26] the packet if you could you know so it
[1:16:28] goes out so it goes out um the Thursday
[1:16:31] before and that would really be helpful
[1:16:33] that will make our meeting more
[1:16:35] efficient and we can think of what we
[1:16:37] want get your first second and third
[1:16:39] choice and you might have to do two but
[1:16:41] we'll see
[1:16:44] okay okay thank you all very much is
[1:16:47] that okay CHR do okay moving on so our
[1:16:52] next thing is the speaker series and I
[1:16:54] think we really
[1:16:56] a little bit so this is more
[1:16:59] informational so this is just um uh
[1:17:03] receiving of the report so at the last
[1:17:06] meeting the commission asked for
[1:17:08] additional information on speaker series
[1:17:11] and so what we have provided in the
[1:17:14] report is some information on how um
[1:17:20] speaker series are put together um
[1:17:23] through our adult 50 plus program um so
[1:17:26] if there are um more granular questions
[1:17:30] um Chris um our Recreation coordinator
[1:17:34] um who manages our adult 50 plus program
[1:17:36] Pro can provide some additional context
[1:17:39] um but it is a variety sometimes um
[1:17:42] given feedback by the um members or the
[1:17:46] community um staff sometimes reach out
[1:17:49] to find vendors or um if there is um an
[1:17:53] organization in the community
[1:17:55] sometimes they reach out directly to
[1:17:57] staff saying that we have um information
[1:18:00] and uh that can be coordinated through
[1:18:02] our staff depending on um the placement
[1:18:07] uh occasionally the speakers uh are
[1:18:10] usually after not always but it is
[1:18:14] somewhat of a built-in audience we
[1:18:16] sometimes connect it to the monthly
[1:18:19] lunch either at Grant Park or the
[1:18:21] community center so that it follows the
[1:18:25] uh lunch occasionally we do host um
[1:18:29] speaker uh series on other days besides
[1:18:32] the lunch day um but that is sometimes
[1:18:35] in connection with that particular event
[1:18:38] um they happen both down at Grant Park
[1:18:41] and here at the community center um at
[1:18:44] both locations we have a variety of
[1:18:46] different resources that they can use
[1:18:48] sometimes it is just um speaking or they
[1:18:51] may need access to audiovisual equipment
[1:18:54] so whether it is here um in the grand
[1:18:57] oak room or down at Grant Park there is
[1:19:00] um a
[1:19:02] portable um monitor that uh sometimes
[1:19:05] speakers utilize as well too um most
[1:19:08] recent and we've listed some of the ones
[1:19:11] that have happened recently we had the
[1:19:14] um the chief of police um provide a a
[1:19:19] presentation um there was a travel
[1:19:21] presentation by Dr Scott Katy um and
[1:19:24] then obviously other local resources and
[1:19:27] services and then there is one planned
[1:19:30] um for March 5th which is this week um
[1:19:33] Wednesday I believe right um and uh city
[1:19:36] manager Gabe England will be providing
[1:19:39] that um presentation as well so it is a
[1:19:44] variety and we're always looking for
[1:19:46] suggestions so if there are other topics
[1:19:49] or other organizations that would be
[1:19:52] beneficial for the program to explore
[1:19:55] that is something that you could work um
[1:19:57] or make those suggestions directly to
[1:20:00] staff but we thought that this would be
[1:20:02] helpful um given the connection with the
[1:20:06] health fair and then potentially uh
[1:20:08] future series as well so um staff is
[1:20:12] available to answer any questions that
[1:20:14] you might have but again it is um in
[1:20:17] coordination with staff that sometimes
[1:20:19] we reach out to find a specific um
[1:20:23] vendor that might be able to provide the
[1:20:25] information and resource to the
[1:20:27] community or we do sometimes have um
[1:20:31] organizations re reach out to us and
[1:20:33] then stop for that opportunity
[1:20:38] I had to do with Mex uh Mexico
[1:20:44] and travel ones they're not health
[1:20:46] related no no no no but this was more
[1:20:52] historical Mexico
[1:20:55] yeah monuma and Cortez and all the
[1:20:59] Spanish
[1:21:00] fistes if that part of travel I guess
[1:21:04] you can travel in
[1:21:07] time had a question um proly what uh uh
[1:21:12] intervals have you had these and what
[1:21:14] was the duration of each talk usually
[1:21:17] the um the presentation is on average
[1:21:21] about an hour um as we've kind of
[1:21:24] discussed it is um you know when we put
[1:21:26] it in connection with an event um having
[1:21:30] people dedicate a longer period of time
[1:21:33] is harder so usually the presentation is
[1:21:37] um condensed um to be between 45 minutes
[1:21:41] to an hour I would say that's a a good
[1:21:44] average um and then it can sometimes go
[1:21:48] a little bit longer um if it's a more
[1:21:50] indepth presentation or it's kept to the
[1:21:54] hour but it could be done in series so
[1:21:56] it's done one is done um one month and
[1:21:59] then the following month if there's a
[1:22:01] followup um as an example the the travel
[1:22:04] one um it was not necessarily all
[1:22:06] condensed into one um as an example but
[1:22:10] in a year how many would you
[1:22:13] have that's a good question almost every
[1:22:16] month almost just
[1:22:20] almost right after the
[1:22:23] lunch here
[1:22:27] okay yeah I would say and there's been
[1:22:30] more outside of that as well so again
[1:22:33] it's not just the the lunch tends to
[1:22:37] have a built-in audience then if it um
[1:22:41] we offer a programmatic element that um
[1:22:44] encourages people to stay um that now
[1:22:47] not everyone chooses to stay sometimes
[1:22:50] they move on to other things but there
[1:22:53] are sometimes a good participation after
[1:22:57] people are already there um but again as
[1:22:59] I mentioned it's not just on the lunch
[1:23:01] days we do provide other speakers at
[1:23:06] other times that's a great point for us
[1:23:08] to remember we were
[1:23:10] planning it's it's in your handouts on
[1:23:13] it's agenda item six page 13 if you want
[1:23:16] to look it up
[1:23:17] later okay thank you very much let's see
[1:23:21] informational items there's fers that
[1:23:24] we're going to I want to point out one I
[1:23:25] don't know what order you're going to go
[1:23:26] in but hoero is having a senior center I
[1:23:31] mean a Health Care at senior center I
[1:23:33] went to that last year to see how it was
[1:23:37] before I went to ours and they made
[1:23:40] theirs was fabulous it was fantastic and
[1:23:44] um it was just it was different they
[1:23:46] even had a little Jitney like a a longer
[1:23:50] golf cart from the parking lot bringing
[1:23:53] people up to the door was so nice but I
[1:23:56] mean they have that they had that and
[1:23:58] they're parking is way out but anyway so
[1:24:01] um it's it's in your packet it's they'll
[1:24:03] probably mention it Live Well age well
[1:24:05] health Expo Meetup it's May 9th it's on
[1:24:08] a Friday from 10: to 1:30 so there's
[1:24:11] going to be two hours three hours three and a half hours and they
[1:24:16] have all kinds of stuff going on so it
[1:24:18] was fantastic lure did anyone here
[1:24:21] go okay I I know l went but there was
[1:24:25] another staff person it might have been
[1:24:26] Chris Chris yeah and I went late so I I
[1:24:30] missed some of the stuff like the hand
[1:24:32] they all they always run under the
[1:24:34] handouts and um so and they had food
[1:24:37] sale it was just very festive and it was very nice so they they put on a
[1:24:42] good event and they're very um good at
[1:24:44] it because they do it all the time so go
[1:24:47] ahead okay so now um so we up to se or
[1:24:52] reports now um so there are a number of
[1:24:57] Flyers um and I will just do brief
[1:25:00] highlights um at this point we are
[1:25:03] prepping um although we're just at the
[1:25:05] start of March it is already summer in
[1:25:08] parks and recreations Minds so we are
[1:25:12] doing a lot of Summer Prep we are
[1:25:14] currently hiring for our Summer Staff so
[1:25:17] if you know your neighbors or family
[1:25:20] friends that might be interested if you
[1:25:22] have high schoolers or um individuals
[1:25:25] that are coming back from college that
[1:25:27] might be interested in seasonal work we
[1:25:29] are looking for those to help us with
[1:25:32] our summer camps um in addition to other
[1:25:35] program areas we're still hiring for our
[1:25:38] adult 50 plus program our indoor pickle
[1:25:40] ball program out at Egan um and also our
[1:25:44] drop in teen center so we are um looking
[1:25:47] for part-time staff to help us support
[1:25:49] us in those areas and then we have a
[1:25:52] number of events um Family Fund days um
[1:25:57] the last one in February 22nd was very
[1:26:00] well attended we probably had about 350
[1:26:03] um to 400 people come out to the event
[1:26:06] on that day but we have one coming up on
[1:26:09] April 5th um in just about a month and
[1:26:12] the theme will be Eco
[1:26:15] explorers um for those that are not
[1:26:17] quite old enough to be employed by us
[1:26:20] which is our minimum age is 16 um those
[1:26:24] uh that want to get some volunteer hours
[1:26:27] we do have our counselor in training
[1:26:29] program and more information is on the
[1:26:31] flyer in on our City website our youth
[1:26:35] commission is going to be highlighting
[1:26:37] an open mic night that is their event um
[1:26:41] this month actually on Friday March 21st
[1:26:44] 1 from 6:00 to 9: sorry my words are not
[1:26:48] quite coming out very well um and that
[1:26:52] will be coming up we also have our
[1:26:55] spring egg hunt um in April which will
[1:26:58] be Saturday April 19th here on the
[1:27:02] Hillview soccer field um there's the
[1:27:04] flyer that's inside um and then we also
[1:27:08] have our specific camp programs our most
[1:27:12] uh traditionally well-loved um Redwood
[1:27:15] Grove summer camp which happens out at
[1:27:17] Redwood Grove uh our activity guide
[1:27:21] which if you um we did mail it out
[1:27:23] hopefully got it in your mailboxes but
[1:27:26] if you did not we have that here um
[1:27:29] registration is now open for lost Altos
[1:27:32] residents so those that would like to
[1:27:34] register for Rood grow summer camp they
[1:27:37] can go ahead and do so we also have Camp
[1:27:40] Jelly Bean for our younger preschooler
[1:27:42] ages that happens out at San Antonio
[1:27:45] Club um so with that um Chris I'll turn
[1:27:48] it over to you for the more specific
[1:27:50] adult 50 plus and then I I'll also turn
[1:27:53] it over to minina who is the alop HS
[1:27:56] representation but I'll turn it over to
[1:27:58] Chris thanks Jamie yeah as Jane
[1:28:01] commissioner Co already mentioned the
[1:28:02] health Expo meet up is an adult 50 plus
[1:28:05] program where you can register today if
[1:28:09] you're so inclined we're going to meet
[1:28:10] up in cerino I believe it's the Memorial
[1:28:13] Park picnic grounds which
[1:28:16] is essentially at the same location as
[1:28:20] the copertino senior center where we'll
[1:28:21] meet up and have some snacks have some
[1:28:24] socialization Community um where
[1:28:27] participants can kind of freely explore
[1:28:29] the Expo and as the Expo gets closer
[1:28:31] we'll start sharing more as they start
[1:28:34] publicize their e exhibits their events
[1:28:37] their activities that are part of the
[1:28:39] Meetup but more or less participants are independent to freely explore the uh
[1:28:44] Expo but also know that the 50 plus will
[1:28:47] be there at the picnic Center so I
[1:28:48] didn't encourage you to consider going
[1:28:51] like Jan Jane also put in a pretty good
[1:28:53] plug for that
[1:28:57] Expo your plus Community as well if you
[1:29:00] want to come with us uh the other flyer
[1:29:03] is the uh 15 plus program mailing list
[1:29:06] this is the the best way assuming
[1:29:09] someone has adequate technal
[1:29:12] technological skills open an email um
[1:29:16] you can stay really current with all the
[1:29:17] activities programs events community
[1:29:19] services that ad 50 plus is delivering
[1:29:22] so I just bring te those to out for your
[1:29:26] attention and then with that um Amina
[1:29:28] would you like to go over the Flyers
[1:29:30] specific to Los Alto Hills yes
[1:29:33] absolutely um hello everyone so I'm not
[1:29:37] sure what order you have the flyers in I
[1:29:39] think you have hopping Hounds in front
[1:29:41] of you yes um so the hopping hounds
[1:29:45] event is happening on April 19th and
[1:29:48] that is basically an event where you can
[1:29:50] bring out your dog and um we put out
[1:29:54] biscuits out in the burn Preserve at the
[1:29:55] Westwind Barn for your dog to find the
[1:29:58] good trees um this
[1:30:01] event this event is $10 but all the
[1:30:04] proceeds go to pets in need um
[1:30:07] supporting animals in our local
[1:30:09] community um and then after that we have
[1:30:14] the drive-thru shred event which is oh
[1:30:17] no okay you have the pathways run um the
[1:30:21] pathways run is an annual event um
[1:30:24] it's a great way to showcase our
[1:30:26] Pathways and it's open to Runners as
[1:30:29] well as Walkers and um this event is a
[1:30:32] 5K 10K or one mile so um it's it can be
[1:30:37] whatever you want it to be um
[1:30:39] registration is done online and the
[1:30:43] event will take place on May
[1:30:47] 10th and then um lastly coming up on
[1:30:50] March 22nd we have our um annual Drive
[1:30:54] through shred event uh this event is
[1:30:56] held from 8:00 a.m. to 11: and
[1:30:59] unfortunately it is exclusive to L alos
[1:31:02] Hills residents
[1:31:05] only and I believe that's all I
[1:31:10] have
[1:31:12] question I just want to share a piece of
[1:31:20] information you want to say something
[1:31:22] yes I wanted to share go ahead um that
[1:31:25] uh we celebrated the Chinese year of the
[1:31:30] snake with with the all the the solar
[1:31:35] group and uh they made these crochet
[1:31:38] snakes the long snakes we went and put
[1:31:42] them in an exhibit in Sunny Veil
[1:31:44] library and they were there for the
[1:31:47] whole month of January so we had five
[1:31:49] snakes that were kept there they
[1:31:51] diligently did all the crochet to part
[1:31:54] because I told them Sola is not doing
[1:31:56] any cultural exchange we've sometimes
[1:31:59] we've had other people come in who are
[1:32:01] not indians but they leave because
[1:32:03] majority are Indian and they sometimes
[1:32:05] just enjoy the food and go away but this
[1:32:09] was our cultural exchange so that was
[1:32:11] nice and I have yes and so now I have
[1:32:14] these five snakes which I
[1:32:17] want so some somewhere decorate
[1:32:20] somewhere and hopefully the adult 50
[1:32:23] plus program CH say yes and put them up
[1:32:26] there do you want are you going to sell
[1:32:28] them for no them I don't well maybe I
[1:32:34] don't know I lost I I
[1:32:41] return
[1:32:44] fun okay next item our future agenda
[1:32:48] items and there are three things listed
[1:32:50] the work plan the healthare and the fall
[1:32:52] fling
[1:32:54] and do we want to add anything what
[1:32:57] about that speakers thing is that just
[1:32:59] going to be part of that's just going to
[1:33:01] be part of the health okay for right now
[1:33:04] we'll be okay anything else that we need
[1:33:06] to put
[1:33:09] on I can't think of
[1:33:11] anything okay do you have something to
[1:33:13] add on no I thought we were going to put
[1:33:15] together a little PR plan that we would
[1:33:18] send you
[1:33:19] ideas uh yes so at the the next one um what we can go ahead and do is at
[1:33:25] least St can provide background similar
[1:33:29] to the information you put in the report
[1:33:31] on the speaker series so that the
[1:33:33] commission can understand how that
[1:33:35] Dynamic Works um we will put together
[1:33:38] something on what our regular Avenues of
[1:33:41] marketing are so that that's clear for
[1:33:44] the commission and then as the
[1:33:47] commission works on the two varying
[1:33:50] events um the commission can then work
[1:33:52] and look at what other marketing
[1:33:55] elements or Outreach can help supplement
[1:33:57] that but staff can go ahead and make
[1:33:59] sure that that information is available
[1:34:01] at the next
[1:34:08] meeting yes that can be um it will be
[1:34:10] included as an informational
[1:34:13] item thank you anything else okay let's
[1:34:18] adjourn the meeting thank you all for
[1:34:20] coming very much I it's early a
[1:34:24] dinner get keep
