[1:50] my way to work I travel through many of the local towns around here and our

[1:54] public works department is right on top of the snow and I would just like to

[2:10] Madame mayor uh just a few things for economic development um bam as you know

[2:14] has been under construction for a while now we're happy to report that probably

[2:19] by the end of January they will be up and uh functioning a a great deal of

[2:24] work is uh being completed there so we're looking forward to that um I don't

[2:28] know if you are at the last meeting and heard the mayor announce about popping

[2:33] plates uh but that is a new business that is going into where uh Warsaw Inn

[2:39] was um and Warsaw Inn uh as you know was in the the village of Lynwood for a

[2:45] number of years um the lady just uh retired and left the uh business for

[2:50] sale and it is recently or in the process of being um purchased and

[2:55] utilized and it's going to add a great deal of value to the Village of Lynwood

[2:59] because of all of the creative opportunities um that they are going to

[3:03] uh bring to that location um the the last thing I want to say is that uh

[3:09] popping plates as well as um what is it um um Dollar General uh the equestrian

[3:19] University uh the car wash what am I forgetting manh dunin

[3:24] donut Fresh Market uh Dunkin Donuts um I have responsibility of Economic

[3:32] Development however the first the person that oversees and that spearheads all of

[3:38] the economic development for this Village is the is Mayor Curry mayor

[3:42] Curry is in each one of those meetings she's negotiating each one of those uh

[3:47] contracts each one of those um deals and I just wanted to make sure that the

[3:51] entire Village understands that mayor Curry since she's been in office has

[3:57] spearheaded all of the economic development that we have seen in this

[4:01] Village over the last um four years and for that I want to say thank

[4:08] you thank you that's it for uh a Economic Development can I move over

[4:13] move on to Community Affairs yes okay Community Affairs just have a few things

[4:18] uh coffee with cops I'm pretty sure um the chief is going to speak about this

[4:23] but that's going to be on January 24th that's going to take place at Duncan

[4:27] Donuts um from 9:00 a.m. until 11 11:00 a.m. um Valentine senior Bingo is going

[4:34] to happen on February 14th right here in this room and that's going to be from

[4:39] noon until 2: p.m. um the next District 172 school board meeting is happening

[4:46] this Thursday at 6:00 pm. at San rid school if you can uh make it to that uh

[4:51] meeting we would encourage you to do so and then also the district 171

[4:57] Sunnybrook school board meeting is happening on Monday January

[5:02] 27th at 6:00 p.m. um the last thing that I have is a community alert of sorts

[5:08] there have been a rash of Tire flattenings um throughout the uh

[5:13] throughout the village if your tire has been flattened I would encourage you to

[5:17] get in touch with the uh Chief and let him know that because there's been a

[5:22] pattern um and we want to make sure that we are on top of that okay thank you

[6:19] had uptick in interest within the Village from Mobile Food vendors to uh

[6:24] to have a license in the past you've done it under your uh uh business

[6:28] license uh uh portion of your current ordinance manual this streamlines the

[6:33] process makes it a bit more specific to the Mobile Food vendor business thank

[9:01] uh in the youth 12 months to 17 years old neuroi has also an uptic this is

[9:08] spread by contact hand to hand eating after a person drinking after a person

[9:13] so please wash your hands and and not share Foods um pneumonia this is the

[9:19] pneumonia season but there are a large number of children now being affected by

[9:23] pneumonia so please get your children their Pneumonia shots and adults get

[9:27] yours as well especially if you have comob disas like COPD or asthma other

[9:32] than that have a wonderful happy and safe 2025 the windchills are expected to

[9:37] reach minus 9us 10 degrees in the coming days warming centers are open throughout

[11:57] on to our department report reports uh beginning with our Police Department uh

[12:02] Chief thank you madam mayor um our stats since we last met uh December 10th we

[12:09] 352 traffic stops 29 arrests 10 guns recovered 830 uh building checks 39

[12:16] domestic incidents 303 ordinance violations and a total of uh 2,143 calls

[12:23] for service um I want to also extend the invitation to

[12:29] um our citizens to uh meet with us on January 24th at Dunkin Donuts um from 9

[12:36] to 11: um to have coffee with with a cop so certainly please uh make that a part

[12:42] of your your schedule your morning schedule uh we would certainly like to

[12:47] meet and greet our residents when you come through and uh we'll be there with

[12:50] smiles and warm welcomes um also Madam mayor took the privilege of uh doing

[12:56] some statistics and before I give these statistics I just want to speak volumes

[13:01] to uh your leadership and uh your legislative body um this is an era where

[13:07] um quite honestly you don't see this type of support in law enforcement um

[13:12] but the the support from your legislative body and yourself has

[13:16] allowed us to um police this community and make this community one of the

[13:21] safest communities in Illinois um so with that being said um under your

[13:26] leadership um and your support uh we were able to implement the uh Deca

[13:31] program in our uh Records Division this has allowed us to uh streamline and

[13:36] speed up the uh process with our tickets um we have increased our Police

[13:41] Department by 36% so there's more officers on the streets um more

[13:45] presentence um quicker response times uh we have reduced our violent crime index

[13:50] by 22.5% and we have reduced our property

[13:54] crime index by 18% and there's an increase in our traffic enforcement by

[14:01] 44.6% needless to say uh Lynwood is the very Place safe to live um it's an honor

[14:07] uh you have made it easy uh to be the police in this town and thank you again

[14:11] for your leadership and your support that ends my

[14:26] over there I am fully staffed as well um so

[14:32] fire department stats 133 ambulance calls uh six accident with injuries two

[14:37] accident without injuries one vehicle fire uh 20 uh inel assists 12 smoke

[14:45] alarm and fire alarm malfunctions one mutual a station coverage uh two CO2

[14:51] calls uh four service calls and three dispatch the route calls making a total

[14:56] of 184 calls for service for the fire

[14:59] department and that ends my report thank you may I have a question for the for

[15:04] the chief chief Austin um it is my understanding just correct me if I'm

[15:09] wrong prior to this Administration coming into office and you taking that

[15:14] position how many ambulances did the village of lywood have uh zero it was

[15:19] contracted out to a a private Ambulance Service and how many years was it

[15:22] contracted out do you have any idea um we're trying to track that down

[15:28] but probably uh weim approximately 45 40 45 years but now in those two ambulances

[15:36] that you have now um that were approved and sanctioned by mayor Curry um those

[15:42] are Revenue generating correct correct okay thank you very

[15:47] much standing there thank you

[15:52] Chief director Garcia thank you madam mayor I don't have ambulance

[15:59] leave that to them that's they're the professionals lean into the snow remot

[16:05] I'll take care of the snow keep it clean um two Automan brakes to repair one

[16:10] sanitary sewer uh to repair one water serice is repaired we've just finished

[16:15] our lead and copper inventory report that has not been done before luckily

[16:20] we've been able to uh update everything for us we don't have any lead in town

[16:24] we're one of those only towns or maybe one other town that we're all 100%

[16:28] copper um we've been approved by the EPA that

[16:31] our inventory is up to up to date Nows um we had four call outs due to the

[16:37] snowfall and I want to thank my crew for coming out day and night working um

[16:41] through those hard evenings and nights and into early

[16:44] mornings and also I want to just remind the residents to please refrain from

[16:49] putting any of the snow into the streets um that snow eventually turns into ice

[16:54] and it becomes very dangerous for all of our drivers um and anybody walking

[16:57] really so we just please just push it into the parkway or into your yard that

[18:12] working with our engineer to secure these grants and our grant writers thank

[18:23] mayor can I turn it off okay um just an update on the fiscal

[18:29] year 2023 audit uh talk with the Auditors they are gearing up to come out

[18:34] on in February to start our 2023 audit um and then uh the game plan for the

[18:41] fiscal year 24 audit will start in May so we should be in compliance with our

[18:45] audits this year and that ISS my report thank

[18:51] you building director Miss Hurley the number of permits issued from December

[18:56] the 11th 2024 to January 14th today 2025 was 25 permits with a total of $

[19:04] 29,257 um that's in my ends my

[19:09] report thank you attorney Bole uh no report Madame clerk I have no

[19:16] report it just leaves me I have two things for you uh the first uh being I

[19:22] want to offer condolences to Cassandra Alon she is the thoron township assessor

[19:29] her husband recently passed away and we were able to support her at her funeral

[19:34] she is a good public servant to the South land uh and so if you happen to

[19:39] see her give her a hug because she is um dealing with a tremendous loss for her

[19:44] life partner I also want to express condolences to the family of Tanisha

[19:50] Harden she is a Lynnwood resident um who uh recently passed away her service is

[19:57] on Friday I will be attending that she was a very active mom with the

[20:02] lywood little league her husband is one of the coaches on lywood little league

[20:07] and so the Little League family is grieving those parents are grieving the

[20:12] kids are grieving so once again if you see any of them please offer your

[20:16] support and condolences last but not least I want to

[20:19] express my condolences to our Public Works director uh Sam Garcia on the

[20:24] recent passing um of his uncle we have good public servants here here in

[20:29] Lynwood because he buried his uncle today and he is here at this board

[20:32] meeting serving you all and that is to be applaud

[20:37] at I uh lastly want to share with you as I always do a uh beginning of the year

[20:44] message I took a little bit of a different route um because I had a

[20:49] little bit of a different Focus uh so we are at a point on this journey where

[20:54] it's important to look back and forward in order to assess where we have been

[20:59] where we are and where we are headed these last couple of years have taught

[21:04] me many things the most important being that there is still work to do we have

[21:09] spent our time focusing on fiscal responsibility Economic Development

[21:14] Public Safety Community engagement and fixing our

[21:18] infrastructure all of which are major tasks that continue to be Works in

[21:23] progress while these things remain in the Forefront of my mind I do want to

[21:28] shift my focus today to you as an individual as we step into this new year

[21:35] let's not just see it as another calendar page Turner but as a blank

[21:41] canvas a fresh start a chance to paint our dreams into

[21:46] reality today we are not bound by the past we are empowered by the potential

[21:52] of our future look within and not back reflect

[21:57] on your journey ackn the challenges you've overcome and learn from your

[22:01] mistakes this isn't about dwelling on what could have been but about

[22:06] harnessing that experience to propel you forward challenge

[22:11] yourself every new goal every challenge you choose to tackle is an opportunity

[22:16] for growth set audacious goals do not settle

[22:21] for small dreams aim high set goals that stretch you beyond your comfort zone and

[22:28] and believe in your ability to achieve them remember the only limits are the
