» Back on here
has got a little something he want to
[0:13]
share with us about the
uh
[0:17]
it's uh I mentioned it to you guys a
couple months ago about the uh
[0:23]
new water uh leader system.
So Cameron Okay.
[0:28]
» Okay. So you guys can take a look at
that as well.
[0:31]
» Yeah. Uh, hi there. My name is Cameron.
I'm with Metron here out of uh, Boulder,
[0:38]
Colorado. Um, I had actually give Joe a
call a couple months ago. I don't know
[0:42]
where to like stay.
Um, I gave a call a couple months ago
[0:47]
just to come by just to see what your
guys' meter system looked like. Um, so
[0:50]
we sat down for about 20 minutes and I
just kind of went over um, our software,
[0:55]
our meters and kind of what we do. So um
Metron car has been around for 30 plus
[0:59]
years. Um what we do is we have cellular
water meters. So very very similar to
[1:03]
what Badger uh does. The difference
between our meters and anyone else in
[1:08]
the market is we provide one minute
data. So you get 1440 reads per day
[1:14]
that's sent directly to uh water scope
which is and this was the platform and
[1:18]
software I wanted to show you. I wish I
was able to throw it up on there but I
[1:21]
did not come.
Um, some of the customers that we
[1:25]
currently service here in Indiana are
Campbellburg, Scottsburg, uh, city of
[1:30]
Bristol. I also talking with obviously
you guys. Uh, I chatted with Reville
[1:35]
Water last week and as well as I went up
to Tiffan earlier this morning. Um,
[1:40]
what's nice about this is this will give
you a leak determination. So, it will
[1:45]
tell you all your previous reads from
the day before cuz our register kicks on
[1:49]
at midnight and gives you every read
from midnight to 11:59 p.m. Um, what's
[1:54]
really nice about that is this will
actually help with with increasing with
[1:57]
customer service. So, if you ever have
somebody call say, "Hey, we have an
[2:01]
issue with our meter or with our water
bill like it's too high." You're able to
[2:05]
give this software to your consumers so
they can actually see where that meter
[2:09]
where that actually occurred. So what's
nice about that is everyone here I'm
[2:14]
assuming has snowbirds. So like chopped
out in Florida cuz they don't want to be
[2:17]
here for the winter months. Sometimes
that bottom that basement um toilet gets
[2:22]
flushed and that flat valve gets stuck
and then that it just continues to run.
[2:26]
Right. This will give you an alert down
to the exact minute of when that
[2:29]
actually happens. Um and like I said
what's nice about that is battery life
[2:33]
on here is 23 years. Um we have a
warranty on it for uh 20. It's prorated
[2:38]
after 10 years and it goes through
Verizon AT&T. Um, and then if you guys
[2:43]
have any trouble spots for some of their
service, we have easy fixes for that as
[2:46]
well. Now, on the meter itself, which
comes with our register, that's nice.
[2:51]
But if you guys also just want the water
scope data, we can retrofit 95% of our
[2:56]
registers on to what you guys are using
now. And I think you mentioned is a
[2:59]
census or two.
>> Nebu. Um the other thing too uh the old
[3:05]
CEO of Census is actually on our board
because when he left Census he firmly
[3:10]
believed that we are eventually going to
be the top market and I think that that
[3:14]
speaks volumes for just who we are. So
that's all I got for you.
[3:20]
» Any questions answer
and you're talking about this register
[3:24]
right here comes off.
[3:30]
» Yep. And what's nice too is not only do
you get um the meter or register, you
[3:35]
get uh 10 years of Verizon or AT&T
service plan that goes on top of that so
[3:40]
that you're not paying Verizon or AT&T
separately cuz and that's why we that's
[3:45]
the reason we're really good is we deal
with them so it doesn't make your guys
[3:49]
bill overly expensive and the software
doesn't come with any cost you
[3:53]
» everything comes with the price of the
meter. Yep. We're not going to charge
[3:57]
you guys a service fee annually. We are
not going to say, "Oh, by the way, you
[4:00]
have to pay X amount." Is here's a
meter, here's a register, that's what
[4:04]
the cost is. And what's nice, too, is
once they're in the ground, it's
[4:08]
installed today, read tomorrow. So, if
we were to put this on any of your guys'
[4:11]
houses, we would get a read, right? If
everything got installed right now at
[4:15]
6:00, we'd have read from 6:00 p.m. to
midnight and then it just continues.
[4:22]
So
without look at that like is there any
[4:26]
apps or future apps?
>> Yep. So we actually are working on our
[4:31]
water scope and utility app too. Um we
have the number one just came out right
[4:35]
now but you can actually have that as
well. So if Joe's out like looking at
[4:38]
it, he can have all that access right on
his phone. And same thing for the
[4:41]
consumer as well.
[4:46]
» I'd love to ask a question. Sure.
So, we're looking at a lot of houses go
[4:52]
out community in 10 years. That'd be one
hell of an excessive bill on cell
[4:57]
phones.
Is there a way to transfer this over to
[5:01]
something better? Is there a better deal
with Verizon or AT&T where this is not
[5:06]
where we're paying $60 per meter? That
that is a ridiculous.
[5:11]
» Oh, that's outrageous. Absolutely. Yeah.
you would go back for us, have it react
[5:14]
up for us because then we can get that
plan back on once you date you're about
[5:18]
10 years in one day.
>> So 10 years we're hoping you guys are
[5:21]
still going to be around us or you can
keep going.
[5:24]
» Yep.
>> Yep.
[5:27]
» So when those meters freeze
>> um there they can as anything can once
[5:32]
you get below 32 degrees. We do have
meter jacks as well. Um but the other
[5:36]
thing with the water scope is it
actually tells you the temperature of
[5:39]
the meter in of itself. So if you feel
like you're going to have any one that's
[5:42]
going to freeze you're going to be
trouble, you can actually get ahead of
[5:44]
the game by looking on water scope and
then taking action that way.
[5:49]
» So you can't replace the bottom of me.
>> You can't push the bottom of the meters
[5:56]
up chest. You can flip it over and take
four bolts out,
[5:59]
» pull the cap off of it and put it on.
>> Yeah. With with this, if you have meter
[6:04]
freeze, send it back to us. So we need a
warranty still.
[6:07]
» So we're sending back to Boulder
Colorado.
[6:10]
And you're looking at four to six weeks.
>> Uh 3 to four weeks as of right now. Um
[6:15]
if it's anything like that, I'm out here
every two weeks traveling the entire
[6:19]
state of Indiana. Um I dropped off 20
pitbound antennas to this morning. So I
[6:25]
don't mind hand delivering it if I
absolutely need to. If I can put it in
[6:28]
my check bag, I'll bring it to you. But
yes, three or four most of the time.
[6:32]
» Do you recommend that a certain number
be stock replacements? So that's really
[6:37]
up to you guys and how you guys want to
do that. I would always recommend having
[6:41]
a couple extra on hand just in case
because it's better to have it and need
[6:44]
it than need it and not have it.
>> When we got units that are not being
[6:49]
used, can they can the sell services be
put on hold or not being charged for it?
[6:54]
» See the problem is with holding meters
in a box and the meter if it's 2025 the
[7:00]
meter can be used at 2128. That meter's
2 years old. So you've already lost two
[7:04]
years your warranty. You don't really
want a whole bunch of
[7:07]
» Yeah, I would say 20 maybe a box four
table maximum like and if you're having
[7:12]
that while we wouldn't be in business.
[7:20]
» Any other questions I can answer for you
guys?
[7:22]
» Do do we have a number of communities
that we could reach out to and ask how
[7:26]
this perform you have these installed?
>> Yeah, absolutely.
[7:29]
» For how many years now? Um, I believe
that a couple of us, uh, Togo Lake has
[7:33]
been on board with us since 2021. Um,
I'd have to go back back through and
[7:38]
look. I think a couple of my customers
have been with us since 2019. And I'll
[7:41]
be very honest with you, I started with
the company just in April of this year,
[7:44]
but I my dad works in Waterworks for
Corn Main. So, my joke is like I've been
[7:48]
around the water business since I was
six.
[7:51]
» So,
>> yeah. I mean, hearing how they're
[7:55]
performing in installations, we've been
there several years, but
[8:00]
Yeah, I can get references through Lake,
Campbellburg, Scatsburg, Gibson Water,
[8:05]
Pat Gibson, uh, Water Authority, uh,
Bristol as well. Um, and then obviously
[8:10]
Connorsville right now they're doing a
pilot with us. So they just got 10
[8:13]
meters in the ground this week and then
I'm going to follow up in 30 60 90 days
[8:17]
just to see how the beers are performing
and what they want to do from there.
[8:23]
» Do you have a demo program where you
where we can test out?
[8:27]
» Um, potentially. Yeah. So, what I was
telling Joe is look at doing a pilot
[8:31]
program. So, 10 m or a box a box is 20
and we'll do a year of sell service on
[8:37]
those so you guys can try them out. And
what I do is I knock the cost down from
[8:41]
our normal 395. I quoted Joe 380 on
them. But if you guys wanted to try the
[8:46]
pilot out, I could do $300 for it with a
year of service. And then again, same
[8:50]
thing follow up from there. That's what
Conorville is doing right now.
[9:01]
All right. Any additional questions?
Awesome. Well, I just really appreciate
[9:06]
you guys' time. Thanks for letting me
present. Thank you. Thank you.
[9:19]
» All right. Some new towns hall. Well,
they started today. Did they?
[9:25]
» Yeah, they started doing the concrete
work today. And uh let's see. There was
[9:32]
a couple things on there. Uh the
additional table.
[9:38]
Uh I think it probably be a good time if
we're going to do that to add it in
[9:43]
before we get too much further. You
know, they want usual
[9:49]
cost.
But are you talking about that being a
[9:53]
part of this contract or just a separate
contract? It's going to be a separate at
[9:57]
the same time.
>> Yeah, but at the same time extra so to
[10:01]
speak. I think the price was quoted was
$17,200
[10:07]
for that or 17,400.
>> It's in the minutes.
[10:11]
» And uh
[10:17]
» I guess it isn't.
>> Yes. Uh, you guys want to consider that?
[10:23]
» 17,400.
>> Yeah. 17,400. Yeah.
[10:29]
Uh, it'd be a good time probably to do
that.
[10:33]
» And I noticed the exterior painting
didn't get included in as well.
[10:41]
And I think the we okay did the the
painting for $15,000 is going it be an
[10:49]
extra ticket contract
because it wasn't part of that the
[10:54]
original bid and it wasn't actually part
of the scope of work in the on the plans
[11:01]
» the windows we we didn't took care of
that that's that's in contract
[11:05]
» well but but you would make the painting
part of the contract with roads
[11:09]
» yes
>> the paving you just have a ping
[11:11]
contractor do that separate?
>> Uh, well, we actually I got to price the
[11:15]
rubbish for that, you know, extra. I
told you to get right to the contractor,
[11:19]
see what it cost us extra from that.
>> Okay.
[11:23]
» So,
uh, I guess you know the council
[11:29]
uh, do we need to reapprove these 15,000
for the painting?
[11:33]
» I think you need to authorize it.
>> Authorize the exchange order.
[11:36]
» Yeah.
>> Okay. So, is that what you guys like to
[11:39]
do? authorize a change order for 15,000
for the painting
[11:42]
» and and authorize you to go ahead and
sign it.
[11:44]
» Yeah. Authorize me to sign that and uh
also how about you guys?
[11:52]
» I think we should just because you know
snow removal. Um
[11:58]
» easy access into the back of the
building.
[12:02]
That's my thoughts. I think we should do
it too.
[12:07]
» While we're while we're doing it, we
probably should do it or probably will
[12:11]
not get done.
>> Probably will.
[12:18]
Does anybody want to make a motion to
approve the painting? Oh, the the
[12:21]
painting for 17,400
motion.
[12:24]
» I'll second.
>> All in favor say I. I.
[12:29]
» Are you combining those? So you you're
approving the painting of 15,000 and
[12:33]
paying 174,
>> right?
[12:35]
» And authorizing a change order for both
>> for both
[12:38]
» and authorizing you to sign.
>> Yes. Is that what Yes. Yep.
[12:43]
» Okay.
>> Okay. Let's see. What else is involved?
[12:49]
Oh, we had a
a pay application for mobilization
[12:55]
here
and then the amount
[13:00]
this will be probably the materials and
the startup cost of the job. It's going
[13:05]
to be $16,3110
[13:10]
and we'll be paying for that the our our
portion of of what the town hall I think
[13:16]
we decided up to 90,000.
U so we'll be paying for that initially
[13:22]
from that.
So I need the council to make a motion
[13:27]
to approve
>> and that that is the signature of the
[13:30]
architect down there.
>> Yes, it is. And
[13:33]
» I don't know who that is, but
>> huh.
[13:36]
» Yeah.
>> Okay. Yeah.
[13:37]
» That's the Miller or March Miller.
>> Yeah.
[13:39]
» Okay.
[13:43]
» Now, do we got to run all these pay
applications through the architect? Is
[13:46]
that part of that?
>> Well, I think that's part of what
[13:48]
they're doing for us. Yeah.
>> Okay. Okay.
[13:51]
» And it always feels good to know that
they were going to change.
[13:56]
» Well, I I would ask them to just because
they'll keep using the AIA forms.
[14:00]
» Okay.
>> And they did the personal for us. So,
[14:02]
» okay, that sounds good. I didn't know,
>> you know, because by doing this, we have
[14:06]
a way of keeping the running total and
the adjusted contract sum and
[14:10]
» right,
>> it is a way to kind of keep the contract
[14:14]
in order.
>> In order.
[14:15]
» Yeah. Okay. I wasn't sure about that.
>> All right.
[14:25]
» You second.
>> All in favor say I.
[14:29]
» I.
Then behind that we've got uh a free
[14:34]
service job free service. We already
okay this in in the last meeting. This
[14:40]
is just his uh invoice for the payment.
>> It's very vague. I'm sorry.
[14:45]
» It's very It's not a very good copy. I'm
sorry. But
[14:48]
» No, it's not a very good copy. $600 on
there.
[14:52]
» Yeah.
>> Can't really tell. It's a little light.
[14:54]
That's the amount.
So the emotions go pretty bad.
[15:00]
[Applause]
motion.
[15:03]
All
>> say I
[15:07]
uh Okay.
[15:11]
Uh Lori Laura Elliot, we got her here.
>> Yes, she did.
[15:20]
That
>> we don't have it in our back. This
[15:25]
little one here.
And then we got two. So this is what you
[15:30]
had asked for
the last meeting.
[15:35]
I can't do that.
Um but I but what I did what I did see
[15:41]
is that it started back in um
the August the 26th of 2023.
[15:50]
So these are a lot of these are just
small amounts of time hours.
[15:56]
So it is it is
um so it's not like it's once a year
[16:03]
it's she continues it on till we use all
our time and we were actually
[16:08]
and needed to do some work but we had to
wait till this meeting because if you're
[16:12]
not using the contract hours
[Applause]
[16:19]
and so I looked over these hours we you
know we take the amount of money divided
[16:25]
by the amount of time she gives us. It's
And since she's going to she's going to
[16:32]
carry it over, I I think we should
choose the more hours because it's going
[16:37]
to be for a lot less
per hour.
[16:46]
2480
is going to be
[17:00]
you know, and and I wanted to mention
too, I I think that
[17:06]
I mean, if we didn't go with if we
didn't stay with this, we would have to
[17:10]
scrap the whole web page and website and
start over. So, we obviously want to
[17:16]
keep going because we've already got it
established. But I I wanted to let
[17:20]
everybody know that Laura um I think she
goes over and she goes out to business
[17:29]
locations and takes pictures and a lot
of I can't say a lot but some of the
[17:36]
stuff she does she doesn't charge us
for.
[17:44]
» Tell me last. I didn't have
>> two years.
[17:49]
» Yeah.
>> Two years almost to the day.
[17:57]
» I think 80 hours or so.
[18:02]
» Yeah. What do you think, Jeremy?
[18:08]
I want to make a motion that
motion.
[18:15]
» All in favor say I.
>> All right.
[18:21]
Let's see here. Next we got
invoices from police and Frank.
[18:32]
Let's see what the first one we got here
is. This is uh
[18:40]
professional services of the engineering
final. So what we got here is the
[18:48]
bidding pro bidding contract
administration
[18:54]
and the project RPR
uh total $4,000
[19:02]
on the first invoice
and one right behind that. This one is
[19:09]
for contract administration,
$5,500.
[19:14]
And the one in the very back, this is
for the consumer report
[19:19]
uh paperwork they did for us
that should be coming out in the water.
[19:25]
Pretty good.
[19:28]
So, anybody want to make a motion to
approve uh the $4,000
[19:34]
invoice?
>> Okay. All in favor say I.
[19:39]
» I.
>> Anybody want to make a motion for the
[19:41]
$5,500 invoice?
>> I'll make a motion. Second.
[19:46]
» All in favor say I.
>> I.
[19:49]
» And the consumer report for 5335.
[19:55]
Second.
>> All in favor say I.
[19:58]
» I.
Okay.
[20:03]
Now this is going to be the pay
application from science.
[20:15]
[Music]
[20:18]
» Yeah. 14,365.
[20:33]
14,775
14
[20:38]
it's a total 14,3645
payment that you got your retain
[20:44]
withheld 73875
[20:49]
motion,775.
[20:54]
» All in favor say I. I. 14,362.51,451
[20:59]
[Applause]
[21:13]
minus the retaining $1,7029.
[21:22]
I'll make a motion that be approved to
pay out $20,3542.
[21:28]
[Applause]
>> Say I
[21:37]
see
[21:41]
uh
course everybody knows David Johnson
[21:46]
fire
and Jeremy has agreed to take up that
[21:50]
position.
Uh, we need to officially appoint Jeremy
[21:55]
to the fire territory board.
>> I'll make a motion we approve.
[22:02]
» All in favor say I. I
[22:08]
donation applied. Congratulations.
Congratulations. Congratulations.
[22:13]
[Music]
[22:16]
Thank you. Uh,
as usual, the council
[22:22]
uh usually contributes a little bit of
money to the colonel day colonel water
[22:26]
day committee. And I'm going to ask him
once again uh for $500 donation
[22:32]
to the Colonel Water for the promotion
of the town. And that's how we'll be
[22:37]
paying for it out of the town's
promotional funds.
[22:42]
So, anybody want to make a motion to
donate $500 to the current owner
[22:46]
committee? I'll make a motion.
>> I'll second.
[22:50]
» All in favor say I.
>> I.
[22:54]
» Property line survey of new town hall.
Uh
[22:59]
I guess we may want to get that the
property survey down there. I say it's
[23:04]
probably March.
It is
[23:15]
» I did a survey over a while back
for Walker and
[23:22]
Meredith.
>> Okay.
[23:26]
» We may be able to get a copy of that
survey.
[23:28]
» Everything's recorded.
>> Okay. It may be recorded down there's
[23:33]
office. I can check on that. Okay. Well,
let's uh let's look at that before we uh
[23:39]
jump the gun on that. One thing though
is I've been in contract with David
[23:44]
Johnson's property on you know they to
one of his markers in that project and
[23:48]
we all agreed to get him surveyed. I I
called that guy. He said he'd give me a
[23:53]
price and he never did. I left a message
with him again and he hasn't responded.
[24:00]
So, I'm gonna try to leave you one more
message and I said if you don't respond
[24:04]
in a week or so, maybe we can try and
find somebody else.
[24:08]
» Yeah. So, you guys ain't got a problem.
>> I don't have a problem if I need to.
[24:12]
Okay.
>> If he doesn't get back to
[24:17]
» Okay. Yeah. what we need to do.
Um
[24:23]
[Music]
[24:26]
the old town hall, I think. Uh yeah. Are
we are we thinking about selling that
[24:33]
and put the proceeds towards the new
town hall? Cuz if we are, we're probably
[24:37]
going to need to get some bids on some
appraisals
[24:41]
and start that process. It probably
wouldn't be too early to start that
[24:44]
process, you know, cuz that takes some
time. Probably have to get another three
[24:49]
or four appraisers like we did last
time. Pick the two best and it's going
[24:54]
to be the average of the two, right? Is
that how that work?
[25:00]
» We got to put that out for seal bids. Is
that the way that would work?
[25:04]
» Yeah, you can you can employ an
auctioneer if you decided to do that
[25:07]
instead, but I don't know whether you
gain anything that way or not.
[25:12]
But we still have to have appraised. The
first step in the process is
[25:17]
to to have the two appraisals done. And
uh
[25:24]
it can be you know an appraiser or some
uh a real a licensed real estate broker
[25:32]
or it can be an employee of the town
who's knowledgeable about the values of
[25:35]
the property.
[25:39]
And we, you know, I think if it's
something that is just property unload
[25:45]
that has really insignificant value, you
can kind of get away with that. Save the
[25:48]
money crazy. But I think here you
probably want to be pretty precise on
[25:53]
what that what it's fair market value is
to guide you on, you know, what is a
[25:59]
good price for it. So if we find an
appraisal, it's not going to charge a
[26:04]
whole lot. It's not a sophisticated
appraisal. And I think Joe, we don't
[26:07]
need
I mean, I I'd almost ask for like an
[26:11]
opinion and value, right? Rather than a
full-blown
[26:15]
appraisal with an appraisal report.
And sometimes the appraisers, if they're
[26:20]
simply writing an opinion value, will
charge a good deal less because they
[26:24]
don't have the work in the report
itself.
[26:28]
Um, I before we like go any further with
that, I'd like to talk with Michelle
[26:34]
Remax because she actually took extra
classes for that. She probably can't say
[26:40]
she'll do it for free, but it probably
work.
[26:43]
» Well, if she do it even for less, uh,
that would be helpful.
[26:48]
» But yeah, if you know some, I'm happy to
do that, too. I I think if we could
[26:52]
identify a couple and get them to kind
of commit ahead of time what the cost is
[26:56]
going to be then those are the two you
want to use.
[26:58]
» So that
>> I guess tonight you're just trying to
[27:02]
figure out whether the council's ready
to move forward, right?
[27:04]
» Yeah. If you guys want to move forward
with that and uh if you do, we'll pursue
[27:09]
uh get some some pricing on that.
>> I do. I think it would open up for more
[27:14]
businesses downtown. I'm off for that.
>> Okay.
[27:19]
Well, I don't think we want to do that.
I'll just try to get most of you or you
[27:25]
want me to I I can we both can, but I
I'll I'll see if I can get get some
[27:32]
» Okay.
>> Yeah, I'll be happy to I'll let you know
[27:35]
what I find out.
>> Okay.
[27:36]
» And I'll talk to Michelle.
>> All right. uh
[27:42]
deep employment policy comp time 30
minute lunch break
[27:48]
for example the water a lot
something I think uh table
[27:56]
» yeah we're going to table that we're
going to table that to future meeting
[28:03]
lunch
[28:08]
Yeah. Um
>> what's that for?
[28:11]
» Well, um right now we're waiting on
closing out a grant with community
[28:16]
foundation. We got to get a water
fountain put in
[28:20]
and um and the trail is starting to look
a little rough. Um we've got I've got a
[28:28]
meeting this week. Me and Suzanne on
parkour. We're going to be meeting with
[28:32]
um Jill and she's going and we're going
to call actually we're going to be
[28:36]
meeting with Jill and we're going to
have DNR on the phone with us. We're
[28:40]
going to be talking about um getting
started on the grant, what we can use
[28:45]
that we've already put into the trail to
maybe go against our portion of the
[28:49]
grant. So, I'll know more about that
next meeting. And then this past month,
[28:54]
um the park board did not have a
meeting. Um, their meeting is tomorrow
[28:59]
night at the park on Brent Street at
6:30.
[29:04]
That's all I got.
[Music]
[29:12]
Take care of the
[29:19]
men. Have I open the m
[29:34]
All f say
[Applause]
[29:42]
[Applause]
[Music]
[29:52]
and we Yeah.
[29:56]
» Dated August.
[Music]
[30:02]
» All in favor say I.
>> I
[30:07]
make reconciliation.
[30:14]
All say
[30:20]
[Applause]
[30:24]
this transers
[30:30]
[Applause]
in here.
[30:33]
» I think I
[30:37]
did.
So it's actually resolution
[30:42]
20.5-8.
[30:46]
» Yes.
>> And
[30:50]
these were some miscellaneous trans uh
transfers to
[30:56]
bring everything to a balance. Um
[31:02]
like we transfer money to the payload
and a little bit in the garage motor
[31:17]
pretty much squaring up above
[31:27]
water
is due to
[31:32]
the
budget. We had a little walk.
[31:39]
So maybe next year be a little better.
Anybody want to make a motion to approve
[31:44]
2025 cash
transfer?
[31:49]
Second.
>> All in favor say I.
[32:07]
[Music]
[32:12]
budget request here.
[32:20]
And uh you guys got this one table next
to me.
[32:25]
» Budget request.
>> Okay.
[32:28]
» Well, our public hearing is next.
>> You need to share it.
[32:32]
» Our public hearing is next month. I've
heard you entered it in gateway.
[32:39]
» I mean, just
>> if you just want to look at it.
[32:46]
Awesome,
[32:59]
man.
[33:10]
recent.
[33:17]
» All right.
[33:23]
» And I think I
went through quite a bit of trouble and
[33:30]
try to get this all balanced out. U
[33:37]
he's asked to for increase for the
full-time police officer and u he's he's
[33:43]
also asked for the corresponding
reductions in the department budget
[33:49]
to help me make up for that pay increase
[33:57]
down here at the bottom he he lays it
out just the way we did it to and the
[34:03]
total amount required is to fund
proposed 4% raise of full-time police
[34:07]
officers is $7,196.
[34:11]
The amount will be fully covered by
reallocating the funds for existing
[34:16]
budget line items. Specifically, $3,000
will come from the eliminating the
[34:20]
overtime budget line item, which as of
today's date has not had any expenditure
[34:27]
in troop in in 2025, and the additional
3,900 will be taken from the police
[34:32]
equipment uniforms line and cate which I
believe have consistently returned
[34:37]
unused funds, the general fund for each
year.
[34:43]
And that's basically where he's getting
the thoughts.
[34:49]
» It makes sense.
[34:56]
» Anybody want to make a motion to approve
this?
[35:00]
» Yeah.
>> Okay.
[35:05]
And uh
[35:17]
well I don't fill this out.
I don't I don't know. We got three
[35:24]
health three personnel right now.
Uh
[35:30]
K didn't ask for a 3% raise. I put this
down there. Uh Kyle, was you asking for
[35:36]
a raise for your department?
>> Yes.
[35:41]
» I checked the budget and it's it's well
within the water rate budget and the
[35:46]
sewer rate budget. It's only since they
only make up 1% of that rate increase.
[35:52]
Um
[35:56]
any plan on purchasing new vehicles?
There was a plan on purchasing a dump
[36:01]
trailer
about $15,000. Plan on paying for that
[36:06]
pretty much if you sell the dump truck.
>> Mhm.
[36:09]
» And get it down to almost nothing. We
did manage to get the dump truck fixed
[36:13]
today.
>> Yes.
[36:15]
» Except the old
>> Yes.
[36:19]
So, uh uh you haven't looked at that yet
on No. Trying to get it all done for
[36:27]
you.
So, there's no other equipment. Uh, we
[36:33]
have planned on building a new utility
building up here for the last couple
[36:38]
years.
We ask that the council maybe look at
[36:42]
that and next year's budget and uh try
to prove that. I did get a portion of
[36:49]
that money put into the new water rates.
Uh, the water department's portion of
[36:53]
that would be already accounted for.
uh
[37:00]
we
would have to look at uh other ways to
[37:05]
pay for the rest of it. Maybe we could
finance it
[37:11]
or
[37:14]
and most likely that's what we have to
do because it's it's not going to be in
[37:18]
the pursuit study have.
So,
[37:27]
and the mini road roller. I think the
thought is there is maybe we can do some
[37:32]
of our own patching around here. We can
order we can get the uh hot patch and
[37:38]
put it in the trailer and
take care of some of this patch. We have
[37:46]
whatever we're trying to get done this
year. What
[37:49]
» was that contractor we we hired?
to come in and do patching
[37:56]
» walls. They haven't got to be here this
week. Yeah, he said last week Friday or
[38:02]
something, but they never showed up. So,
we should be seeing the same. And the
[38:08]
salt budget was already done. 3600 bucks
for a year.
[38:14]
This is remember this is just a a uh
a budget proposal.
[38:22]
Anybody got any problems with this?
[38:27]
» No.
>> Okay.
[38:38]
Um
right. you got anything?
[38:44]
» Um, just the pictures that you guys have
of the of the crash. Um,
[38:50]
I've got a couple copies of a of an
estate
[38:56]
well the body shop here in town.
It ended up being a little different
[39:02]
than what we talked about originally,
but um
[39:08]
Jared um ran into a deer the other
evening.
[39:13]
Um and and there's also um some repairs
on that quote that um that the council
[39:19]
actually previously um approved this fix
and we just never got around to it due
[39:23]
the vehicle issues, the hole in the
floorboard.
[39:26]
Um there are a couple errors in this
quote. he has tax on it, so that would
[39:31]
need to be adjusted. But my first
question would be with that total, do we
[39:37]
want to uh turn it in on the town's
$1,000 deductible or just pay that out
[39:42]
of pocket?
And then also,
[39:46]
if I could go ahead and get the approval
to go ahead and get this fixed done with
[39:50]
Danny,
just be a little bit more convenient to
[39:53]
keep it here in town.
Yeah. So,
[39:58]
» correct.
>> 15333.
[40:03]
And I
[40:06]
» Yeah. And then I I also think it it
would be fair to say minus the 200 for
[40:10]
the hole in the floor, too, cuz that
wasn't caused by the
[40:14]
» Okay.
>> It's just simpler for her to to fix it
[40:17]
all while he was here or why it's there.
It also has a door hinge issue that he
[40:23]
uh he forgot to put on this quote and
when we reached out to him, he said that
[40:26]
it was his fault. He would just take
care of it free of charge. So, for not
[40:30]
including it,
>> I think we should avoid.
[40:45]
So, if it's all right with you guys, he
said that he would actually start it
[40:48]
this upcoming weekend and get it fixed
over the weekend for us.
[40:52]
» Okay.
[40:55]
1500.
>> I'll make a motion.
[40:59]
All
>> favor say I.
[41:02]
» All right.
[41:05]
How much is it?
[41:12]
» Yeah. Um,
we don't have any power at the eent
[41:18]
meter. Um, be close to get that fixed.
It's about $5,000.
[41:27]
That's new wire from the building up to
the dock
[41:31]
and
[41:35]
that roof
generator.
[41:40]
» Yeah. So, what happened? Our wires got
cut somewhere on the other end and we
[41:45]
don't know where it's at. And uh
>> we got no power down there.
[41:51]
» And that comes all the waste water.
>> Yeah. All my waste water.
[41:57]
» Was there do you remember there was
nothing in budget for something like
[42:03]
that? Do you know just
having to get another
[42:08]
» Yeah, the waste water's in fairly good
shape.
[42:17]
You know,
>> we do have
[42:20]
repairs.
>> Yeah. I mean, it is repair and we have
[42:25]
had a whole actually we have had a
little bit of sewer repair this year
[42:31]
up there and it cost us a little bit.
[42:40]
You know, our operating right now are
about
[42:45]
99,000
[42:48]
835.
[42:56]
So,
[43:00]
you know, something like question
got. I mean, we could try to find
[43:08]
somebody to do it cheaper, but I mean,
it's got to be time.
[43:14]
» I can always move money around
[43:19]
if there isn't enough
>> in
[43:23]
$5,000. $4,955.
He didn't give me He didn't really give
[43:27]
me a quote. I'm sorry. He just texted to
me. So, it's very electric.
[43:36]
» Yeah.
>> Station.
[43:38]
Yeah.
>> So, I guess we just need to get luxury
[43:41]
to go through it.
>> You don't think anyone else would be
[43:44]
cheaper?
>> I don't really. I mean, the wire is the
[43:49]
most expensive part. The wires that I
sell right now. So yeah,
[43:55]
» where would you normally take something
like that out? Which one of the funds?
[44:00]
» Repair and maintenance contractual.
>> Yeah, contraction.
[44:12]
» It's 1361.
It should be 620
[44:18]
1 1361.
[Music]
[44:22]
around that.
But like I said, if there's not enough
[44:26]
money in there, I can always move it
from something else.
[44:39]
Or we could we also can if it wasn't
enough in there cuz I was just like
[44:44]
trying to keep up with this like we're
budgeting for next year. If we did do
[44:48]
something like this out of this, can we
can we negative can we negative a
[44:53]
balance and and and leave it like that
till the end of the year and at the end
[44:58]
of the year we figure out where to move
the money so that uh so we know how to
[45:03]
like budget that for next year.
>> Well, that's what those transfers are
[45:08]
that I do,
>> moving money around. And I want I'm
[45:13]
trying to keep it all in the positive as
much as possible.
[45:23]
How much does it show that's in there?
[45:31]
[Applause]
[45:44]
Uh, there's not much left.
$58,158.
[45:49]
[Music]
[45:54]
» Yes.
[45:57]
» So, we're going to have So, I'll have to
find it. Uh, but I see that in other
[46:01]
services and charges we've got $11,512.
[46:07]
So I could move money from there to
that.
[46:11]
» What are some Do you know where I am
now? What are some of the charges we
[46:15]
use? Is that for the other
>> anything that's unusual?
[46:20]
» Okay.
>> That is not normally a monthly.
[46:24]
» Okay.
>> Expense.
[46:26]
» Okay. I just I think this budget is a
really good idea. Something Morgan
[46:31]
Town's never had. I think it's good
because then we can really um we can
[46:36]
really narrow things down and see how
much you're spending and everything
[46:42]
in the utilities.
[Music]
[46:47]
» Motion to approve the 4,955.
[46:54]
» Second. I'll second. All in favor say I.
One more thing.
[47:01]
Um,
you guys had a hard time with $5,000.
[47:06]
Our perfusion pumps at the lagoon two
area went bad. 12 year 12 years of use.
[47:14]
Um, get those rebuilt
and um $20,500.
[47:21]
Yeah. So I think we'll be able to do one
of those a quarter. So what we should
[47:27]
say here?
>> Yeah. I told him that I think we could
[47:31]
do that.
>> Yeah. That's just get the ones out of
[47:34]
balance mix right
>> you know to do them all at once it would
[47:40]
really deplete the money. But if if he
tried to do one a quarter
[47:45]
» or at least
>> every 3 months. Um I we they've got our
[47:51]
pumps
>> repaired.
[47:54]
» Not really.
>> They got our pumps.
[47:55]
» They have our pumps.
>> They have Yeah.
[47:58]
» Right. Um I didn't didn't ask.
>> So what we down to two?
[48:05]
» We have one in cell one and one in cell
two.
[48:09]
» Yeah.
>> It's kind of noticeably showing our
[48:14]
sampling. Yeah. We're not getting the
information that we need.
[48:20]
» Yeah. Not something that we thought
would happen, but after 12 years and now
[48:25]
I'm, you know, continuously running
just
[48:32]
» my thoughts on it are, you know, just
looking at the different funds that the
[48:37]
state buses have. I I just I think our
bills for now for water and everything
[48:44]
there are. I know we can use some
infrastructure funds. I don't know if
[48:48]
nobody's a big fan of it,
you know, because the water company has
[48:52]
to stand on its own feet. People in town
don't realize that that water company is
[48:57]
a totally separate business. They really
don't understand this.
[49:01]
» They don't.
>> And I understand I mean here they are in
[49:04]
town and they have this one town and
they think it's all together, but it's
[49:08]
very separate.
>> It's a hard thing to get people to
[49:10]
grasp. and our our infrastructure has
fallen apart and here we are. You know,
[49:15]
we don't
>> and we do got some excessive sludge
[49:18]
build up in the pond which is not
helping
[49:24]
we've got I talked to Lori about it. So,
>> I was going to ask that because you know
[49:28]
back it wasn't it wasn't Lori and Jill
and it was Wesler I think but
[49:34]
» those were crucial they call them the
bubblers or or whatever those things
[49:38]
were at the time but Were
you sending that? You weren't.
[49:44]
» Well, they had for these air raators in
the lagoon and the lagoon was it was
[49:49]
pretty crucial that
because of the sludge build up that um
[49:56]
we were going to lose that, you know,
the risk being that there was going to
[49:59]
have to be significant dating done and
ultimately then if the lagoons failed,
[50:04]
we'd have to go to a conventional plant
which you absolutely cannot to do,
[50:08]
» right? And I'm shocked to hear that even
one of them is not working because they
[50:14]
expected to have four and we got a great
result when we fired those things up and
[50:18]
started moving that water and they're
radiating better and I'm surprised that
[50:22]
the lagoon can maintain a healthy level
if there's not all four running all the
[50:26]
time.
>> Well, it's just that those levels are
[50:29]
going down. I mean,
>> well, that would be consistent with what
[50:32]
we were told back then.
>> Yeah. But I would think that that
[50:35]
getting those fixed would just almost be
an emergency.
[50:39]
» And I'm I don't I'm not I'm not I'm not
I'm not trying to be a waste water
[50:43]
engineer. I'm I'm sharing with you the
conversation was had back 12 years ago
[50:48]
when these things were purchased. Just
to give you some history
[50:53]
and say we don't have air movement that
water is going to make the it's going to
[50:57]
turn into a system.
>> Yep.
[51:00]
» We can't have that.
>> Yeah. And that's, you know, it is pretty
[51:04]
critical to get them back up. And, you
know,
[51:07]
» we have 99,000 and and we could do it
>> and we could pay for that 20,500.
[51:17]
The monthly payment for the SRF is about
17,000.
[51:23]
Um,
but we have this month's income to get
[51:28]
built back up again. Is it that is it
some of this money though like that we
[51:33]
have we did that last grade study is
some of that for um the next time we
[51:40]
have to do a project
>> and I asked Sharon so Sharon's going to
[51:45]
try to get that u last wastewater study
that we did so because it has been a
[51:52]
couple years now and I want to make sure
I compare that we have to what that
[51:56]
study called for to make sure what
happened that
[51:59]
» yeah we
>> well there be a replacement fund right
[52:03]
as part of your liability
>> there is in the rate study I'm sure
[52:07]
there was but it it actually and I don't
think we have set aside in on the
[52:12]
appropriation
>> so that would be under probably the
[52:16]
construction
>> portion right there
[52:19]
» but you know we uh
>> well but if it was factored into the
[52:22]
rates
>> you ought to be collecting that money
[52:25]
» it ought to be building up someplace
Yeah, it is built and that's probably
[52:28]
why we got a higher balance
>> and if the rate consult did it right
[52:32]
that these
these assets
[52:36]
» should be factored into yes
>> the long-term assets that will need to
[52:40]
be replaced
[52:44]
» well how much does the new one
>> amount for the
[52:48]
» how much does a new one cost a fusion
pump I mean this
[52:53]
» if this is fusion pumps There's pumps in
the last 20 years instead of 10 as well.
[53:00]
» Yeah.
>> Are these things out there in the water?
[53:04]
Yeah.
>> Just get it done. We have the money that
[53:09]
we can just let it replenish.
>> That's what we need to do.
[53:16]
» Yeah. I guess that's what we're waiting
on in God to give us to give a word so
[53:21]
we can pay back out there.
You might want to make a motion to
[53:25]
approve the air ticket of 20,500 bucks.
>> I'll make a motion.
[53:35]
» All say I
[53:41]
» vote
[53:46]
I
fine
[53:49]
» for now. I think $20,000.
[53:55]
» All right.
[53:58]
Anything else?
[54:03]
» I just want to say one thing. Um I
wanted to let the council know that we
[54:08]
had an issue with the sprinkling credit.
Um
[54:12]
and that um we discovered it. We had
someone come in and say that they didn't
[54:18]
they didn't think they got it this month
when they received their bill. And so
[54:23]
looking back at first we thought it
didn't happen originally like in in
[54:27]
June, but it did. We did have the
sprinkling credit for June. It was on
[54:34]
the June bill, but it was not on the
July bill. and we don't know what
[54:38]
happened because that's something that
you
[54:43]
click in there and it stays until you
take it off. Um,
[54:48]
so, um, I just wanted to let everyone
know that there's like
[54:53]
she's got it down to 113 people that
have this earthling credit and she has
[55:00]
eliminated uh there was 134, but she
eliminated uh the the difference because
[55:07]
of people were had moved out or
whatever. And so, um, not everybody gets
[55:14]
the sprinkling credit even though they
may sign up for it because you have it's
[55:20]
the average of the winter months,
um, is how they how it is, um,
[55:26]
calculated in the system. And so, uh,
you have to go over that average.
[55:34]
So, I just wanted to let everybody know
that Becky is working on that. she has
[55:38]
the formula on how to figure and she's
going to have to manually figure. Now,
[55:43]
the next bill that comes out will be
fine. It's just for this July bill.
[55:50]
And I have a suggestion with that. Um,
you know, the people that are getting
[55:56]
this, they could have been on this for
10 years. They may not even use that
[56:01]
service anymore, but yet they're still
getting all these places. This is
[56:04]
actually
it's costing us money because Becky's
[56:07]
had to work, you know, over time to try
to figure all this cuz something
[56:11]
happened to the system which wasn't our
fault. Um, but I think it's a good idea
[56:17]
that it says something in there by May
the 1st that you you have to be in in
[56:23]
order to get this, but then once you
sign up, it's like it's a forever pass.
[56:27]
I think they just have to come in and
sign up every year by May 1st if they're
[56:32]
really going to need this credit.
>> It seems to be a seasonal
[56:36]
» Yeah, it's just from May to like the end
of September or something like that in
[56:40]
our ordinance.
>> Yes,
[56:42]
» it should expire in September.
>> I I think it should.
[56:46]
» And they would have to reapply for that
year.
[56:48]
» Yeah. And what that does in the system,
so Becky when they would come in in May,
[56:53]
they fill that out. she go in the system
and there go a block where you put a
[56:57]
number code and by that number code
>> um you know she's only probably going to
[57:03]
have a handful probably to 100 or 100
plus
[57:08]
» there's people that have asked well I
didn't get it but they were signed up
[57:12]
for it well if they don't go over their
average
[57:16]
» you don't get it
>> you don't get it
[57:18]
» and um so
um I just wanted you to be aware
[57:25]
that that has happened and
we're fixing it.
[57:30]
» Is that something that that um
I mean I don't know if we do it tonight.
[57:38]
We could get on the schedule for next
month or whatever to look at that and
[57:42]
maybe make that one change.
>> Well, we would need to amend the rate
[57:45]
ordinance to make that change. You can
certainly make the decision tonight and
[57:49]
adopt an ordinance at the next meeting
or we could you could you could table it
[57:53]
for discussion at the next meeting.
We've got we've got some time
[57:57]
» cuz you know it won't really affect
anybody until next year.
[58:02]
» Yeah.
>> And and and I and I think I I get your
[58:06]
point dude. you know, you sign up once
you get it forever. But but I think
[58:13]
um pe people won't like having to do it
every year. What why that will work well
[58:19]
with utilities is a lot of people will
forget, but then they're going to be
[58:22]
angry because they're not getting it
anymore.
[58:24]
» But that is one way to limit it and make
sure people are thinking and making it a
[58:29]
point to ask for it every year, not that
it gets set and it's just there. Another
[58:34]
option I think would be to
shorten the term of it.
[58:39]
» You know, I don't Does it start in June
or May?
[58:42]
» It starts in May for June's billing.
>> For June's billing,
[58:46]
» it's May's uh
>> but it's the June billing that you first
[58:49]
get the credit, right? Right.
>> I mean, I guess you could shorten the
[58:52]
term of it or you could cap the credit
>> and you could do all of those things.
[58:57]
You can see you got to come in May 1st
of every year to get it. The credit
[59:00]
won't exceed this amount. so that
they're not getting as big a credit as
[59:05]
they're getting now,
>> right? Um, and you could also set the
[59:11]
eligibility uh threshold differently
than it is now, too, to say if you're
[59:16]
not, you know, if you're not exceeding
your bill by something greater than what
[59:21]
it is now, then you don't get it. So,
there there, you know, three or four
[59:25]
different moving parts that you could
look at to get at this problem if you
[59:28]
want to. Not not just not just that they
have to do it every year,
[59:33]
» but but there are other things you can
do to get at it too if you want.
[59:36]
» Do it and I'll just I'll look at it, see
what I think. You guys can share it or
[59:42]
whatever and look at it. I just kind of
feel like it's just ran on and it's
[59:46]
grown to, you know, a large people.
>> Yeah, it's a lot of money.
[59:50]
» It's a lot of money.
>> Yeah, it is.
[59:54]
» 60 people. One person I think was like
$70.
[59:59]
» And I I I don't mean to make this bigger
than it is, but here's the other problem
[1:00:03]
with the credit, too. Is
>> I think they get it because
[1:00:08]
Is it a water credit and sewer or just
sewer?
[1:00:11]
» It's just
>> It's just water.
[1:00:12]
» It's just No, it's just sewer.
>> Oh.
[1:00:14]
» Oh, yeah.
>> Yes, it is sewer. It's a town sewage
[1:00:17]
work.
>> Okay. Then that didn't make any sense.
[1:00:20]
Okay.
>> Yeah.
[1:00:23]
» But but like when she went through that
like There's a lot of people they sold
[1:00:27]
the home, moved out, somebody's in
there, they're getting the correct, you
[1:00:30]
know, it just so it's not being really
kept up with, looked at.
[1:00:33]
» Yeah.
Yeah. Okay.
[1:00:39]
» See,
pointless, we got to get a unsafe
[1:00:45]
building authority together.
And uh I've talked to a couple people
[1:00:51]
and I've got a couple people that dream
to do it.
[1:00:55]
Um,
so I I tried to get him to burn just to
[1:01:00]
make sure that he was willing to do it.
He told me he was. So, uh, Burn Snider,
[1:01:07]
Chad Buts, and the third person would be
me.
[1:01:12]
So, uh,
we we really can't move forward from
[1:01:17]
where we're at until we make these
appointments,
[1:01:21]
uh, and we get this, uh, hearing
authority into place.
[1:01:26]
So, I would make the recommendation that
we point these three individuals to the
[1:01:30]
unsafe building authority
and as long as council locate them.
[1:01:41]
Okay.
Good. Okay.
[1:01:45]
» We forgot
prices.
[1:01:50]
» Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:01:54]
Go ahead and do that one.
And we table that from last time we was
[1:01:59]
here. Jane asked for water credit.
And uh you know we I reviewed the
[1:02:08]
ordinance
uh and the ordinance is pretty clear on
[1:02:16]
whether or not this particular
uh bill would be eligible for a
[1:02:27]
a adjustment.
The ordinance uh
[1:02:33]
says it's not and the council has the
ability to do everything.
[1:02:40]
[Music]
>> Let's see.
[1:02:43]
» Is that enough?
>> Yeah.
[1:02:48]
[Applause]
[1:02:51]
This is the way it is.
It has to be an unusually large field.
[1:02:57]
In other words, it has to be a field. It
has to be sliced in normal
[1:03:01]
» bill. Yeah.
>> And this is my
[1:03:05]
» build.
And the it has to be visible or
[1:03:11]
detectable on the customer premises only
except upon excavation.
[1:03:17]
» Yes.
>> Or some other disturbance of the
[1:03:19]
property and the result of the act of
the customer or any agent or contractor
[1:03:26]
hired by the customer. So in other
words, they had to make some form of
[1:03:30]
excavation to find the leak. It it can't
be a leaking toilet. That's right.
[1:03:36]
» A leaking toilet. We both pay for the
water treatment in the toilet and we pay
[1:03:41]
for it going down the drain of the
toilet.
[1:03:43]
» All it is is this.
>> So
[1:03:45]
» all it is is this.
>> It's my opinion that Shane is not
[1:03:49]
entitled to a adjustment on this
>> and this is for a water adjustment. This
[1:03:56]
is for a water and a sewer. Is that
correct?
[1:04:00]
» I mean, you can adjust the sewer,
>> but water.
[1:04:09]
» Okay.
>> I think she figured it for waste water
[1:04:12]
» and
[Music]
[1:04:16]
that's right. Water and the waste water
as well. You know, we did treat it. It
[1:04:21]
wouldn't have a sewer. You know, it's
not like it was a a leak somewhere else.
[1:04:27]
It just went into the yard like a garden
or something like that. It actually went
[1:04:31]
down the sewer and we had to treat the
water.
[1:04:39]
Yeah.
[Applause]
[1:04:48]
» And and you know, here's kind of my take
on it is that um
[1:04:55]
you know, I would not want to pay this
either. I mean, you can see why he's
[1:04:59]
upset with it because I think it was
like $300
[1:05:05]
more, you know, what he wanted to pay.
So, there's four tenants in the whole
[1:05:10]
building and I think the water leak was
downstairs in I I think the water leak
[1:05:17]
was downstairs before they do the flower
arrangements. Um, but it leaked so you
[1:05:24]
know I wanted to mention this in the
meeting just so that people know. So if
[1:05:28]
you have if you have one meter and
you're
[1:05:33]
if you have one meter with more than one
person on that meter and you get a
[1:05:39]
minimum bill which you usually get so
say you got four tenants every month you
[1:05:44]
pay 483. Well before he was using a 41
he was consuming 4,100 gallons. So in in
[1:05:54]
June, he had used double that. But see,
our office is not going to be able to
[1:06:00]
catch that because his bill was the same
as the previous month.
[1:06:03]
» Still,
>> it's still a minimum bill because you
[1:06:06]
get the minimum rate for each one of
those tenants. So if you don't go over
[1:06:09]
that total, you still get the same bill.
So it did not throw up a fight cuz Becky
[1:06:14]
in the office, she literally goes
through all these pages and every single
[1:06:18]
one of these bills looking for that so
she can help people. Well, she didn't
[1:06:22]
catch it, but the next month in July, it
had already been leaking in July, it
[1:06:28]
used 27,500.
By saw that, so she called. So, that
[1:06:33]
went up about an additional $300 cost.
But, you know, the only reason I feel
[1:06:41]
like the only reason I feel like the
ordinance is fair
[1:06:45]
because I have tenants and my tenants
left the pool running. I I don't I don't
[1:06:51]
really feel like it would be fair for
the people to take to have to pay for
[1:06:56]
that. And at the end of the day, they do
because if I'm not paying for it,
[1:07:00]
everybody else is pay for it. That's how
I feel. I may be wrong if I am. I
[1:07:06]
somebody needs to correct me. But that's
how I feel about it.
[1:07:10]
» Yeah. In the past, this is exactly how
we enforce that adjustment ordinance.
[1:07:16]
This is the qualification we set for and
we didn't make this ordinance but I
[1:07:20]
thought it was fair.
>> It was back in 2005
[1:07:24]
» reasonable
[Music]
[1:07:28]
decision.
>> Is it is everybody online with that
[1:07:33]
adjustment or is anybody take the chance
to get the adjustment? I mean go ahead.
[1:07:40]
I don't know what I read. It wasn't this
we can do it if it falls. It says
[1:07:46]
pursuant to the code and it says
>> how we can do it.
[1:07:51]
[Music]
[1:08:00]
Okay.
All right. I guess that's adjustment
[1:08:06]
tonight.
The uh
[1:08:12]
the Christmas tree that we kind of
talking with last year at the at the uh
[1:08:20]
new town hall. Does anybody want to
pursue that? I talked to to David
[1:08:25]
Johnson's father-in-law a little bit
about it and I might ask you guys if you
[1:08:30]
want to pursue that I get back with you.
You know last year we run out of time. I
[1:08:35]
thought maybe if we start while still we
can get it done
[1:08:39]
but it's up to you guys. We had some
donation money come through and um um
[1:08:46]
actually
we bought some stuff but Sharon didn't
[1:08:50]
actually use those funds to buy what she
bought what was bought last year. So we
[1:08:55]
actually have the funds available and
could put it towards that if that's what
[1:09:00]
we want to do. Or we could use those
funds just to maybe dress up the town,
[1:09:05]
you know, downtown and wait on the trees
till we're done getting moved in the
[1:09:09]
building and look at it next next year
and maybe Sharon could put a small tree
[1:09:14]
in in the new town hall if we get the
town hall. So, we got options.
[1:09:20]
We should wait until dinner. That's kind
of what I Okay.
[1:09:28]
All right.
uh
[1:09:33]
microphones. Uh we had a little trouble
with the last video. We're hoping this
[1:09:37]
video turns out better. Uh if these
microphones don't work, uh we had to
[1:09:43]
enhance the audio on the last video to
even make it where you can hear it. So,
[1:09:49]
I'm hoping these microphones do better.
If not, we may have to try to get some
[1:09:54]
good microphones.
It's up there.
[1:10:04]
» But yeah,
and that's it.
[1:10:08]
» And Jeremy Abrams, we got that
straightened out,
[1:10:11]
» right? Exactly. Have a look at your back
with me. Yeah. Yes, we do.
[1:10:15]
» Okay.
[1:10:19]
Okay.
[1:10:23]
» Well, I thought we'd wait to see what
the video quality was and then you know
[1:10:28]
like
it's going to cost us between about 275
[1:10:33]
to around 500. Of course, you can spend
as much money as you want, but I thought
[1:10:39]
somewhere around there I found some
pretty decent ones for 275. I think you
[1:10:45]
step up a little bit about 350 and the
next step is about 500
[1:10:51]
or so like that. So we'll see how this
turn out and we'll see where we're at.
[1:10:58]
Anybody else got anything other
comments?
[1:11:02]
» Yeah, I'm with Brian here. He's with V3
Engineering down in Bartville.
[1:11:07]
» Okay.
>> And I plan too. Just thought I'd bring
[1:11:12]
him over and introduce himself. I take
care of all the
[1:11:18]
speak for yourself.
[1:11:24]
» You're not doing any favors.
[1:11:28]
» Greg worked for me one point in time,
but uh
[1:11:33]
he he thought it might be good for me to
come out and introduce myself to you
[1:11:37]
folks. Um, I operate the satellite
office for the company in in
[1:11:41]
Martinsville. I live just out west of
town, south of Wilber. And, uh, we
[1:11:47]
mainly run surveying out of that office,
but we do have engineering as well. And,
[1:11:53]
um, our Indianapolis office is is the
the main hub with the majority of the
[1:11:58]
staff. Uh, but we're a full service firm
and if there's ever anything that that
[1:12:04]
we might be able to do to help you guys
out, we'd love to talk with you some
[1:12:09]
more. And um, our director, our regional
director in Indianapolis, she's actually
[1:12:15]
from this area. um her think graduated
from Indian Creek and such but uh um
[1:12:21]
when I tal told her I was going to count
she was she was hoping herself had
[1:12:26]
another commitment but uh be glad to
bring bring her out as well. She's a
[1:12:32]
environmental
um specialist and a professional
[1:12:36]
geologist. Um but uh again we're you
know full service firm. We are regional.
[1:12:42]
We have offices in Columbus, Ohio,
Charlotte, North Carolina, based out of
[1:12:46]
Woodbridge, Illinois, Denver, Colorado.
We have an office and head in Alberta
[1:12:52]
even. Um, so we're about 450 people, but
uh for me it has a small town feel cuz
[1:12:59]
uh you know I'm local, local office, but
u anyway that's that's that.
[1:13:06]
You have any questions feel free to fire
away.
[1:13:09]
» And what is the name of your company? V3
companies V is in Victor and the number
[1:13:14]
three.
>> Oh, I see.
[1:13:22]
» Thank you.
[1:13:25]
[Applause]
[1:13:32]
right
