About that, under commissioner comments, but not to expect them, I'm sure. Please join me in the Pleasure of Allegiance.
[0:13]
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands.
[0:31]
Okay, approval of the agenda, any questions concerns on the agenda for we've moved to approve?
[0:52]
Yes.
[0:53]
I moved to approve.
[0:56]
Well second.
[0:57]
Thank you.
[1:01]
Chair Taylor?
[1:03]
Vice Chair in there?
[1:04]
Yes.
[1:05]
Commissioner there.
[1:06]
Motion passes.
[1:08]
Thank you.
[1:08]
And we have a guest speaker on public comments, Peter.
[1:11]
I'd like to come up and share your thoughts.
[1:15]
These are for items not on the agenda.
[1:19]
And if you haven't been, if you're not familiar,
[1:21]
we'll certainly love to hear what you have to say.
[1:23]
We just can't interact a lot since it's not an agendas item,
[1:25]
but we can bring it back later.
[1:27]
That's what you're asking for.
[1:28]
Yeah, no problem.
[1:30]
I'm relatively new in town and really love it and enjoy the park.
[1:36]
or what it has to offer, sometimes I go to sit in the park by the fountain.
[1:42]
And one thing struck me, though, was that I didn't see, or I shouldn't put it differently.
[1:48]
I wished there were more people around me and who like it interact with in me.
[1:53]
And so I proposed an idea to Chrissy a couple months ago, and that was that I would be
[1:59]
going to spearhead an installation of like a, that's, it's a game that they plan to
[2:07]
sell the France called Patunk. It's like Bachi ball or lawn bowling, and it doesn't
[2:12]
take much room, and there's so much bark dust there. I thought that would a great
[2:16]
place for one to little courts, and they're generally 15 meters long, four meters
[2:23]
wide and you know if you've been to the, to the French you see the all the old guys in the
[2:31]
in the park you know throwing the hollow metal balls at a target and how do you spell it?
[2:37]
Um, or how do you get, we get P.E.T. A.N.Q.U.E.
[2:43]
Sorry that I mean, I don't know. I don't know what, I don't know what to do.
[2:49]
It's an excuse to socialize and it's cool and it seems like it belongs in Libby Park
[2:57]
in my opinion.
[2:58]
It seems like it would be a great fit and I don't think there'd be much cost and I would
[3:04]
have to be happy to sort of sponsor it and lead the work efforts and if you think that would
[3:10]
be a good idea and we can find a spot for it.
[3:14]
Yeah, that's it.
[3:15]
OK, maybe we can place it on next month's agenda,
[3:18]
so we can discuss it and maybe get some cost estimates.
[3:24]
You call it Patonky, but Paul, is that what
[3:26]
it's just called?
[3:27]
It's Patonky, but Bachi Ball, you know,
[3:30]
B.O.C.C.E. I think it's a very similar game.
[3:34]
OK.
[3:34]
And if you want, I have, I put it out some information.
[3:37]
Sure.
[3:37]
Yeah, I think you can take it.
[3:41]
You also have a business, this sort of,
[3:50]
you can
[3:51]
Very cool.
[3:51]
The double stripples and you just try to throw your balls and have them land next to the target
[3:57]
and it's, you compete against another two hundred.
[3:59]
Almost like, what's that one cornhole, kind of like cornhole, that's similar to the same kind
[4:04]
of...
[4:05]
Same kind of vibe.
[4:07]
Throw them something like something like that.
[4:10]
It looks like it's really similar to like a horseshoe size footprint almost, right?
[4:16]
Like that's about that size.
[4:17]
And then usually on sort of real fun.
[4:22]
Interesting.
[4:25]
Well, thank you for sharing.
[4:29]
Oh, cool.
[4:30]
Okay.
[4:34]
Thank you.
[4:35]
Oh, you got this in picture.
[4:41]
Okay.
[4:42]
Thank you for that.
[4:46]
On our consent calendar, we have the minutes for the August 6th meeting.
[4:52]
Any, um, the pretty brief.
[4:54]
Did you have a chance to look them over?
[4:56]
I don't, Brenda.
[4:57]
I don't think you were here.
[5:02]
Oh, very good. Okay. I don't have any changes of substance.
[5:11]
I'll make a motion to approve. Motion to approve the August 6, 2026, Ohio Parks and Recreation Commission
[5:18]
minutes. And I'll second. Thank you. Okay. And moving right on to our presentation and discussion
[5:27]
items. We have this Arizona playground reconstruction update. We have a recommendation to receive
[5:33]
to staff report, discuss and recommend the list of recommended playground equipment structures
[5:39]
for the service of the playground from the playground ad hoc committee, and there's a report
[5:44]
in your packet.
[5:50]
I will have a comment before we receive that one second, I wrote some notes.
[5:58]
Okay. Also, before we jump into the discussion, I did want to make a moment to clarify the detail from last month about the company.
[6:13]
It's not play well. It's play world. So that was just a clerical, you know, mistake.
[6:21]
I don't know,
[6:23]
I don't, I don't, I don't, my understanding, I think I'm on, but it isn't play
[6:30]
world, it's Dave Bang, and that is one of their catalogs.
[6:35]
Well, no, play world is a company.
[6:37]
I, yes, they, yeah, we're working through Dave Bang, correct?
[6:41]
Through Dave Bang.
[6:42]
Okay, correct.
[6:42]
And through Dave Bang, there's more than one catalog.
[6:46]
There's Berliner.
[6:47]
I just wanted to clarify, it's not play well, it's play world.
[6:51]
Yeah, yeah, that's a play world but I think I made that mistake in the agenda. There is bolt. He doesn't carry it. But there is bolt. Okay, yeah, yeah, he only carries me. I got it. So the report last month should have said play world.
[7:05]
Yes, actually it's just a day bang. Okay, because to really clarify on this whole process, we aren't working with just one catalog or with one playground equipment company. Right. We're working with a firm that works with multiple catalogs multiple companies where you can get the equipment just to because we're
[7:20]
Okay, because I'm also, I'm also one catalog.
[7:24]
I'm also aware that there is some confusion
[7:27]
that some commission members may have
[7:29]
and experiencing frustration
[7:31]
in possibly wanting more information.
[7:36]
You know, what I wanted to find out here
[7:38]
is if you could clarify, you know,
[7:41]
what information you did need
[7:42]
so that we can come back with a more, you know,
[7:46]
robust report or whatever you wanted
[7:49]
to see regarding that after your update though, of course.
[7:53]
But just let me know, and if you have other ideas
[7:58]
that you want the ad hoc, the playground ad hoc
[8:02]
to know as well to come back or to review
[8:05]
that things that we could discuss too.
[8:07]
So that actually goes right along before,
[8:10]
if you don't mind before we go into the update,
[8:13]
I just wanted to do exactly that into backtrack
[8:15]
and just from as a chair, setting the agenda,
[8:18]
like my perspective to keep the commission moving along and to not have to learn something
[8:28]
tonight and then say okay you have all next month to research it and it just like delays
[8:34]
things if we could like this commission is being asked to provide direction or make a recommendation
[8:38]
but the material facts we don't get them if we're if we're getting them orally we're getting
[8:43]
for the first time tonight. And we don't have any time to research the factual stuff. So for me,
[8:50]
what I would like to see is in the reports like for this particular thing, I'd like to know
[8:56]
that we've had a previous action, you know, the Commission made a motion last meeting.
[9:02]
We talked about making the purchase separate from the install because of the grant deadline.
[9:09]
I would like to see the staff report say, you know, this is where we're at, this is where we were, this is where we're at.
[9:15]
And I think it's important to just to have that context to update like on the written details that we talk about.
[9:23]
And then also, I mean, I just think it my goal is pretty simple. We want to have the information ahead of time so we can research it
[9:31]
so that the public has it so that we have it and we can have a productive meeting. That's really what I guess.
[9:37]
And I would just kind of piggyback on that,
[9:41]
because it is for the commission, but it's also really for the public.
[9:45]
And the public is coming to each time there are new people.
[9:48]
So if we give them an incomplete picture without the background,
[9:50]
because typically my reference point to back when we back two years ago
[9:55]
is we have a background section.
[9:57]
And the background section would set the stage for understanding.
[10:00]
We're understanding the project, where we're doing it, where we're doing it, kind of some specificity to how much we've already gotten.
[10:06]
Done in the process, where we are in the process, and then it would introduce, like, a recommendation, background overview.
[10:12]
So it's repetitive.
[10:13]
Is that what you're saying?
[10:13]
Yeah, that's like the format.
[10:15]
Yeah, I remember.
[10:15]
It's a little repetitive, but that means that any time the public comes to it, because people are coming to this all at very different times.
[10:21]
Different stages of the process.
[10:22]
And so if we want to make sure that whatever report we're putting out is a whatever staff report is coming out,
[10:27]
helps them to understand what we're going to talk about and what we're trying to accomplish.
[10:31]
So it invites everyone in, because without the background, I mean, so every time we're
[10:36]
the written, I think the hope is to read it from the perspective of someone who's never heard of this.
[10:41]
And we're not going to have to be super lengthy, but just some deep, just a snapshot of, you know,
[10:48]
the history, kind of, lead it the background, leading up to it, and then, and then, like, for example,
[10:53]
if I would have had like some links,
[10:55]
I would have liked to have been able to click on them
[10:58]
and just see like, oh yeah, I can see where the ad hoc
[11:01]
is gonna talk about this tonight,
[11:02]
and I have a little bit more knowledge,
[11:04]
like it doesn't mean the oral part is where I think
[11:07]
we really go back to.
[11:08]
And I'm looking at the current staff report,
[11:12]
I think I'd put background discussion,
[11:15]
and then typically the last thing is the recommendation.
[11:17]
And that's where staff has their opportunity
[11:19]
to give us their specific recommendation.
[11:21]
It isn't what's absolutely going to happen, but with all the research that they've done and the information you're bringing to us, and you've analyzed it, you know, then you present what you think
[11:31]
Next steps are, and that would be the last piece from, you know, as the staff recommendation.
[11:36]
So I think it's kind of almost like we, if we got a template together, where we have the same questions we're asking every time.
[11:42]
Yeah, and I like that background, which is a recommendation background, well actually I think
[11:47]
we can kind of use, yeah, for the very end, because that's the staff's time to participate.
[11:51]
So start with background and then go, you know, update, yes, and then, you know, and then what
[11:56]
we're going to discuss tonight, and I think that would help.
[12:00]
So is that, does that make sense?
[12:01]
It makes sense.
[12:02]
Yeah.
[12:02]
And I think that we should work towards that for sure, so we will.
[12:06]
Well and then I think the thing with that is, is that the only way that works is if that
[12:11]
process starts early this month, yes, so that it's not an end of the month challenge
[12:18]
because then everyone's on their heels and it's tied together.
[12:22]
Urgent.
[12:23]
And it's that it definitely was frustrating.
[12:25]
And then I just would say also just to not specific to this, but speaking on the playground
[12:32]
before we move on, like the piggybacking presentation was, you know, I've heard of the
[12:40]
and stuff but like the source well links to the other projects that we're piggybacking on.
[12:46]
I think that's really easy to include so that if we're going to piggyback on another city,
[12:53]
they have all the RFP that source well has, you know, the RFP, the entire bidding process is there,
[13:02]
pricing, all that's included and it just seems easy to put a link in the document so that the
[13:10]
They choose to come and weigh in on something specific that has to do with that, at least
[13:14]
they'll have an idea of what we're working with.
[13:18]
So I don't know that we've identified what project we're sourcing.
[13:22]
Yeah, right.
[13:23]
You haven't identified anything.
[13:24]
So that's what we have this update for.
[13:26]
And then we'll come back next month.
[13:28]
If, you know, how we've identified the project.
[13:31]
Well, this update is going to be the update from the playground ad hoc committee.
[13:34]
I don't know what you.
[13:38]
No, no, no.
[13:39]
the source well and all of that, we, I have not heard yet what we're piggybacking on.
[13:45]
We don't have any of those details so I need to talk to public works about that because
[13:49]
nothing has moved since the meetings that we had.
[13:53]
Yeah. My understanding from researching it was that when we piggyback on something it has to be
[13:58]
something I think the term would be similar like in kind. It has to be a similar project just that
[14:06]
banks is done business with another city. I don't, it wasn't my understanding that that
[14:11]
qualifies it. It has to be a similar,
[14:15]
like if we were to write the RFP, it would look
[14:18]
very similar to the successful RFP that you would find on source. Well, that's my understanding,
[14:23]
but I might be misunderstanding, but I think we should know that. Yeah. I mean, it's certainly
[14:29]
the ad hoc should, yeah, maybe have a meeting with public works in you or something to
[14:34]
to understand what that is, because there's a lot of sources, there's a lot of documents in there that you know, and you can see pricing and stuff.
[14:43]
Okay, so I'm glad that we're all on the same page with that.
[14:47]
Thank you.
[14:48]
Yeah, we did.
[14:51]
So, okay, so we, we're going to get a staff update or just the ad hoc update.
[15:00]
Well, or is it combined? So it was going to be the ad hoc update, but I do have another update to add to my first one. Okay. And that this is some positive news.
[15:12]
So I received confirmation this week that the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation has extended our grant performance and contract period to June 30th, 2029.
[15:24]
So we have time, but let's not wait, but let's not wait, we can forget that I said that, and we can keep moving.
[15:33]
But they've secured the funds, those are safe until we get the project done.
[15:37]
Okay, that's urgent.
[15:38]
Okay, I feel better about the delay or the waiting for it.
[15:42]
I'm doing so.
[15:43]
Doing it right.
[15:45]
Okay, so why don't you before the ad hoc gives the update, would you mind
[15:48]
bring, explain to the commission about the Dave, Dave Banks associate meeting and how that came to light because I thought I thought too based on the report we're meeting with Playwell, which I guess we don't sell or play world or whatever like a playground company, but we're meeting with like kind of like a distributor.
[16:08]
Yeah, so play world does not sell their own equipment. Okay. You have to go through another distributor. So that is Dave Banks.
[16:16]
And did they approach us or did we have we bought from them before or how did we find them not that I know of okay we could have I didn't
[16:23]
Find anything that says that we've I thought I thought we found them through source well
[16:28]
No
[16:28]
How did we find no so I found them on a cover of a magazine?
[16:34]
It's just stuff that I look through I was looking through all the magazines
[16:38]
When I said play well and then play world but we found out that they do work with source well
[16:44]
So, you know, it would be an easier process.
[16:48]
And so, how did we go from source world to date back?
[16:52]
They said that she just said she found...
[16:55]
She found them.
[16:56]
She just found them.
[16:56]
And then he qualified as working.
[16:58]
Oh, it was actually public works.
[17:00]
Yeah.
[17:01]
That mentioned source well, because I don't deal with, you know, those types of things.
[17:05]
And they said that they are actually play world is included with the source well.
[17:10]
So, that's why public works mentioned that it would be a much easier process just to buy the equipment.
[17:16]
So we can speak to them if you have more detailed questions because I just I might not have the answer
[17:23]
Concert because that's a week. We did we went when you because we got to that meeting and that at that meeting
[17:28]
I think I thought it was play source because that I thought so I'd seen that somewhere
[17:32]
I looked at the play world
[17:33]
I looked at play source so many things and then we were on a play world
[17:37]
I looked at that and I mean that meeting it was all of a sudden day bang and and so okay
[17:43]
Well, let's look daybang up because I think you probably did it the same way I did while you were
[17:46]
Not to cutting on the on the on the on the meeting and then we had the rep from daybang
[17:51]
Yes, so then you and I will go ahead is that is that the do you want to have any
[17:56]
It's just for the equipment on all yeah, that's all and so then we had a meeting
[18:01]
Yes together about after looking at daybang site and one of the big things is they rep multiple catalogs for multiple companies
[18:09]
And so we sat down and did a review of what was available regionally and what kind of products we thought would be, you know,
[18:19]
I appealing and well that would meet the good fit for Ohio and meeting the surveys and kind of what we've been talking about the idea of like something physical something
[18:29]
Interactive something accessible. Yeah, so physical and adventurous play and we so we put together a list that we sent off
[18:37]
to Christy and to Lundy for the works. And did Eric get it as well? Eric? Are you
[18:44]
me? Yes, yes, yes. Okay. So, Eric, he is the rap front. Oh, okay. Okay. And so, we're
[18:51]
going forward with, you know, and I, well, I'll start with you guys. It didn't make it
[18:54]
in time to get in the packet, but happy to share it. Yes. And happy to share that, you
[18:59]
know, if you are interested in looking stuff up and seeing what we're looking at
[19:02]
It's actually a lot of fun, yeah, DaveBang.com, I think it's just going under catalogs and there's just amazing what's available.
[19:13]
And so we really need some guidance.
[19:15]
It sounds like from Lindsay, as to if we can pick, like is there a project that he's done that will qualify for piggybacking for the brand that you guys ever kind of sourcing?
[19:29]
We actually put in their Huntington Beach project that we found that it has some pictures that we would really like and some of the equipment that we would really like and gave that link to them.
[19:41]
And it's a different, it's not play world, it's for winter, but because we really liked a lot of what they did.
[19:47]
And then the other thing is, it could be multiple companies, then you do different parts with different companies and you come in to change.
[19:52]
And that's not uncommon, right, to see one piece from one company that you're really interested in and then another piece from a
[20:07]
So we really need some guidance. I feel like, yes, we, I feel like we keep starting, but we're missing the starting point.
[20:17]
Well, I think we just need to I think whether it's the commissioner or the ad hoc that takes the next steps, it will obviously I think it would be easier to do it out, you know, during this next month, but to get with Kristi and engineering, I think we need to get clarification clear on if we're piggybacking and we're doing it through source well, what is which what are we sourcing on source well, because it has all these different contracts.
[20:42]
Sersville is a way that for just a little explanation because it's complicated.
[20:47]
I'm only beginning to understand it.
[20:49]
Same thing, cities, agencies, schools who public agencies that buy materials and products,
[20:57]
not services, but materials and products.
[21:00]
These companies like Sersville do these really big RFPs and then they create contracts with all of these different companies with set price points.
[21:08]
So what they do as part of the RFU that source will hold, this is my understanding and I could correct me if I'm wrong
[21:15]
But they then you can use you can use that contract that they've already agreed to with those prices
[21:21]
I think so
[21:24]
There's some confusion as to whether we need to reference a specific project
[21:28]
that's done with similar materials like literally similar to what we would want to buy or if it is just picking a
[21:36]
contract with a particular brand and then knowing what's on their contract and what
[21:43]
the prices are because it's a discounted price if you go through these large source
[21:47]
well there's like three or four others that because in order to be awarded their
[21:52]
original RFP they would have had to have been competing with that agency yes and it
[21:57]
was all negotiated so yeah it is really complex I just think that public works might have
[22:04]
help give give you a little guidance on yeah and maybe just to do your own due diligence look
[22:11]
at the links but you know on source well and I I got on there and this is not to say that I
[22:18]
didn't find my way to the right spot but I could find that they had contracts and who they had
[22:23]
them with but none of the details of the contracts so I don't know if you maybe need access I don't know
[22:27]
do we have an account which have you looked at source well yet Christie for public view or what
[22:34]
need to do to be able to see some stuff okay okay we just want to make sure that we're
[22:40]
complying with our especially when we're making recommendations to purchase you know hundreds
[22:46]
of thousands of dollars worth of material we want to make sure that we're not sold sourcing
[22:51]
without piggybacking properly. So I think we've gotten a lot done you and I had a very good
[22:57]
discussion and really looked at a lot of stuff and kind of honed in on some priorities for
[23:01]
accessibility and inclusion and the kinds of things that we're hoping that it will create and the different types of spaces.
[23:07]
So there's gathering spaces and like basic you know kids that work kids play together collaboratively and then some more individualized spaces and I it's a it's super exciting.
[23:18]
And Dave Bings will help us do the layout as well.
[23:22]
This is a unique thing to playground equipment is design is free.
[23:27]
So, you're going to buy all the equipment from them and they throw in the design as part of it.
[23:32]
So, that is not a separate line item, so you're, and that's how it's still, you're buying just the product,
[23:38]
but they do the design for you. But it's the kind of design, I mean, you know, it's like, drop this, drop that.
[23:44]
I mean, like, you know, they put it together. And so, and surfacing is always going to be a question, you know,
[23:48]
how much, you know, how we make it as accessible as possible, what materials we can afford to how the path, you know,
[23:55]
They'll help you all that kind of design work.
[23:58]
And then I know that we're going to be short in public works come.
[24:03]
I think December I heard.
[24:06]
Should we do we have a goal to get the RFP out for the construction of it?
[24:11]
Or at least get it drafted before we have it saffed turnover?
[24:14]
That would be great.
[24:15]
I think so.
[24:16]
I think we have to know what we're what, I mean,
[24:20]
because of the way we're doing this, we need the equipment in the design before we can
[24:23]
go farther forward with that.
[24:25]
I wonder if we can use the old RFP, like, as a template to, like,
[24:29]
yeah, for just seems like the RFP's take so long to get drafted,
[24:34]
especially if we're at the holidays and maybe they can basically build it out
[24:38]
and then we'll have any details.
[24:39]
Just because she's so familiar with the project thus far.
[24:42]
I was going to ask, I didn't quite understand what it means to piggyback off
[24:46]
of another, like I'm pretty familiar with sourceball and purchasing through sourceball.
[24:49]
That's just kind of the term that they use.
[24:52]
So the projects that are vetted through and stored at source well, when another government agency
[25:00]
And they go, oh, look, this is on here and you can see all the documents and see how they did the RFP. And you go, okay, I'm going to pick this, and it's, they call it piggybacking on that vetted project.
[25:11]
Okay. That's just the term.
[25:13]
We're using a plane.
[25:15]
It's like a plane.
[25:15]
No, you don't even have to do it. You just, the council is my understanding, again, this is totally new. I'm learning also.
[25:23]
But for, and Christie, if you step in, if you, if I'm not correct, or if you know more,
[25:28]
we can purchase the playground equipment based off of that RFP of pricing-wise and the city
[25:37]
can purchase the equipment and then they just have to do the RFP for the installation. So it
[25:43]
separates the two. Now I will just throw this out there and I maybe don't be mad. I'm going to
[25:49]
ask since the deadline is extended. Is there a benefit in doing a package or like we are going
[25:58]
to do an RFP, anyways, for the installation,
[26:03]
is there a benefit in doing one RFP since we have
[26:07]
time?
[26:08]
You mean for both?
[26:09]
Yeah, we can.
[26:10]
We can't.
[26:11]
We can't.
[26:11]
We have to do two separate RFP.
[26:14]
Well, that was what I came away with very clearly under $2 million, you can't do that, $2 million
[26:19]
and over either some other, this is, I'm just repeating what I've heard.
[26:24]
I can't, I can't explain.
[26:25]
If it's under 2 million and you have to do the RFP for insulation, I'm saying couldn't you, because it would still be under 2 million, wouldn't it be over if you want to do them as together?
[26:36]
Okay.
[26:37]
So if you do two separate RFPs, which we don't have to do if we pick you back.
[26:42]
Okay, all right, that makes sense.
[26:43]
That's my understanding.
[26:47]
Okay.
[26:48]
So question, because you said to go back, our next step, you mentioned something about diving deeper into source
[26:53]
Well, so, because at this point, we had sent recommendations, so thinking is it in the reps' hands to start crafting and seeing or doing things about that?
[27:03]
I think that my understanding is that if the ad hoc committee can come up with a recommendation,
[27:13]
we need to probably run it through public works to make sure that it's viable,
[27:23]
right?
[27:23]
But I think that the thought is this, we give them this recommendation, they have staff's
[27:29]
recommendation, they have the survey, and I think typically they would just produce
[27:33]
like three or four different designs,
[27:38]
and it, you know, with different goals in mind,
[27:40]
like we'd like to see something with full accessibility, but we're not sure that's in our
[27:43]
budget.
[27:44]
Okay, so we're not putting budget on it yet, right now we're putting on, this is what, you
[27:47]
know, we would really like, and then that would come back to this commission, and then
[27:51]
public can weigh in and we can have a discussion and then we'll make a recommendation on it.
[27:55]
So I think the next step would be that based on your report tonight that you have kind of a
[28:03]
manufacturer that you like and you'd like to ensure that public works is on board with that
[28:10]
manufacturer. Is that something that we need to make have a recommendation for? Can you just like work
[28:16]
was staffed to, I think now that we've got our recommendation in, and I've seen that the rep
[28:21]
is happy to have another meeting with us, so now that he has what we've given him, it's
[28:26]
probably a really good time to have another meeting. So we can all be on the phone together
[28:30]
and have a discussion, and because we had questions in our recommendations too that we didn't
[28:35]
have answers to about the equipment and installation and some other stuff. So we should probably
[28:39]
just touch faces with Lindy before that to make sure that that particular model or
[28:45]
manufacture is okay. She can be included on the meeting. And she was in a
[28:51]
lack of meeting and I think that's so we could work together. Yeah, no, that's
[28:55]
absolutely. I think that's our our ad hoc meeting next up. Yeah, okay. So just
[29:02]
update and then maybe next month we might have enough material to make a
[29:07]
recommendation to move forward.
[29:10]
My next month, even more Ms. Defender, maybe?
[29:13]
We'll see.
[29:14]
I'm November November.
[29:17]
Well, and I think the goal and then for our staff report,
[29:20]
it will be robust and there'll be a lot of information in there
[29:23]
and then we'll have everyone able to see everything that we're seeing.
[29:27]
I'd really like that.
[29:28]
I think the public is going to show up with a lot of input.
[29:33]
They did before, and it was a really nice interactive process
[29:36]
and they had a lot to, they just had a lot to share and a lot of great ideas.
[29:41]
So it would be really nice to have that, and maybe we even have to have it for, like,
[29:48]
to depending on the outfit, turn out, you know, maybe we can have it for two meetings.
[29:52]
I think what, yes, and what maybe is, is that, you know, we come up with something,
[29:57]
we get more information, we go back, we come back again.
[30:00]
I mean, it doesn't always go one and done or even two and done kind of thing to get to the right design.
[30:10]
But I also think that recommendation of basically preparing a draft of the RFP for construction.
[30:22]
And then filling in the details as we know them is not a matter.
[30:26]
Yeah, to maybe ask if she can get going on it.
[30:29]
Maybe at your next meeting that you schedule you guys can talk about that.
[30:32]
That was good.
[30:32]
Okay.
[30:33]
We don't need to agendas that though.
[30:35]
We'll just put playground update and then hopefully we can meet with them.
[30:39]
You can meet with them prior to so we have enough time to get that report drafted.
[30:44]
I think since we're doing online they're probably pretty quickly.
[30:47]
I think he's so easily available.
[30:48]
It sounded a little bit like his favorite.
[30:50]
What was the, I know you said it but what was the name of the Dave Bings?
[30:56]
Oh no, for Leonard.
[30:57]
For Leonard.
[30:58]
For Leonard.
[31:02]
On Dave Bings website.
[31:03]
They have the other looks on there.
[31:04]
Yes, go to the catalogs tab and then also have featured projects too that are fun to look at.
[31:11]
Okay. Wonderful. That's really exciting.
[31:16]
Yep.
[31:17]
Okay.
[31:19]
And moving any other comments or questions?
[31:24]
Moving on to our solar shade at Libby update.
[31:30]
Yes.
[31:30]
So, at the August 6th, 2026, Parks and Recreation Commission meeting during the managed
[31:38]
report, it included a discussion of a proposed new solar structure at Libby Park.
[31:43]
Following for the review, it has been decided that this installation will not proceed.
[31:49]
Staff has now considering an alternate location that would minimize impacts on the open space.
[31:55]
Because I think what I mentioned then is that it might be in a grass area, so they're not going to be doing that any longer.
[32:03]
They're looking at different areas. Still at Libby. Still at Libby, though. Yeah, possibly over bleachers, maybe.
[32:10]
Oh, that might be interesting. And it would give some shade to benefits. Yeah.
[32:14]
I feel like that would be great. So I'll keep you updated. Okay.
[32:17]
But I just wanted to clarify that that is not not going on any further.
[32:21]
Okay. I'm not going to have that on the future agenda items unless you have an update. We can add it the last minute.
[32:29]
That's good.
[32:30]
Unless, are you okay with that? Are you, do you guys wanting?
[32:33]
I think that's nice.
[32:34]
It would be nice to know as they're, what they're discussing when they're discussing it.
[32:39]
So we're just discussing versus hearing what happens.
[32:41]
I'll just add it for a brief update there.
[32:44]
I just mean that so that we're, it's not already happened when we hear about it.
[32:47]
We hear about it before when they're having those discussions.
[32:49]
Yeah, I think that would be helpful.
[32:56]
I'm trying to keep it or notes on future stuff.
[32:59]
Okay, Sarasote snack bar.
[33:01]
I'm sorry before I move on,
[33:02]
any other comments or concerns on the shade
[33:05]
and I'll put it on the agenda for next month
[33:07]
and we can just have if there's no update.
[33:10]
We'll just say no update.
[33:11]
Okay, Sarasote snack bar update.
[33:14]
Yes, so as you know,
[33:17]
last Friday was going to be the inspection,
[33:20]
the final inspection for the Sarasady Snack Bar services.
[33:26]
The health department inspection did require that the city is to replace our refrigerator
[33:33]
freezer because it is failing.
[33:36]
So, new refrigerator freezer anticipated to arrive tomorrow or Monday, which of course would
[33:43]
be Tuesday for us.
[33:44]
Yes, Monday is a holiday.
[33:46]
It is the only remaining item required by health department for the concessions down to open.
[33:53]
They also did say that we needed to replace our water heater, it is not commercial.
[34:00]
Water heater will also need to be replaced, but it does not need to be replaced prior to the stand-upening.
[34:08]
But it is urgent, they said.
[34:10]
So we will work on that.
[34:13]
The news snack bar operator anticipates
[34:15]
being able to open seven days after the successful delivery
[34:19]
and installation of the refrigerator freezer.
[34:23]
Who's installing it?
[34:24]
Who's installing it?
[34:26]
The refrigerator?
[34:29]
Stevenson.
[34:30]
Oh, like the person we're buying it from?
[34:32]
Yeah.
[34:32]
Stevenson.
[34:33]
So will it be installed?
[34:34]
Well, it actually might be our maintenance department
[34:37]
if they just drop it off.
[34:38]
Brie has been working with them, so I can find out that they might just drop it off and we have to
[34:43]
So we're thinking like September 15th
[34:51]
Is that what you're thinking? Yeah, okay. Yeah, good timing. There are so many people at that park right now so many
[35:00]
And what is the report on here says no fiscal impact, but what is the fiscal impact on that?
[35:05]
Oh, it is around 5,000. I could get you the exact details. And how much is the water heater?
[35:13]
Do you know? I'm just curious.
[35:15]
20, about 2,500. That has not been ordered yet, though. We're still doing some research. Public works.
[35:22]
something like that. Yeah. That's a lot and the show was 10 so almost 17,500 on that. It's
[35:28]
a lot. Okay, okay, great. Of course you just a question. Oh, I'm sorry.
[35:36]
Right. Right by the field,
[35:38]
the softball fields. Yeah. Oh, I need a house. Uh-huh. Yeah.
[35:47]
Okay, any, um, any other questions or
[35:51]
That's exciting.
[35:52]
Very exciting.
[35:54]
And I think that'll be, if they open up,
[35:57]
Isn't there a softball?
[35:58]
What's happening at the park that week?
[36:01]
We have, is there a softball in Tuesday?
[36:03]
Yeah, the softball just ended.
[36:06]
And it just had championship.
[36:08]
So it might be a while for that.
[36:10]
There's a game.
[36:10]
Anyway, it's so on that field.
[36:12]
Is that just a weekend practice and games too?
[36:16]
Mm-hmm.
[36:16]
And then last night I was there pretty late and there was a lot of people in the field for soccer.
[36:22]
Yeah, just for practice.
[36:23]
No, you should go either.
[36:24]
You should be crazy.
[36:26]
They have a soccer league now.
[36:27]
Oh, for adult.
[36:28]
Started a soccer league for adult.
[36:30]
Oh, I played that in my youth.
[36:33]
Still openings.
[36:34]
Till West Beach, not the air out of me.
[36:36]
You knock me over and I was like, I've done.
[36:39]
I'll never forget that.
[36:40]
I've never had that happen before.
[36:41]
They're still out.
[36:42]
Yeah, now that's, I played co-ed and that was an experience.
[36:45]
I never forget that.
[36:48]
I wasn't a very good supplier.
[36:51]
Okay, thank you for that.
[36:53]
15.
[36:55]
And request on that.
[36:57]
Since it'll be between meetings, could you send updates to all of us when things are happening
[37:02]
like the opening and then the days and the hours?
[37:06]
And that'd be cool to be.
[37:07]
And until we get the other two commissioners on the city email, which needs to happen,
[37:14]
We need to use their other emails, because they're not getting anything.
[37:19]
I have that under my, under my, yeah, but until then, just fortunately don't have it,
[37:24]
and send it out that way before all those kinds of events.
[37:27]
Thank you.
[37:29]
Okay, our youth programming review.
[37:35]
I know Jim had some input on this, so maybe we can talk about,
[37:42]
We talked about the staff report, but what we would like to see for next month and we can bring it back, but maybe with a more data so we can
[37:51]
Yeah, I mean, let me see here.
[37:54]
I have an overview of what we're doing and pull some numbers out of the system to, you know, what are you participation is?
[38:01]
What programs do you really well?
[38:02]
Where we're getting a lot of program participation, break it down maybe by sports activities
[38:07]
like a kind of robust staff report about all the programming, what we're doing, like the top three of each other.
[38:16]
Like kind of a spreadsheet if you give us everything you're doing and show us the numbers and how we're doing on it.
[38:22]
And where we've had increases and where we've had decreases and new programs and what's new in the last two years.
[38:29]
Because I mean before that, I mean it was the before times.
[38:31]
Kristi, remind me that what software is used for registration, active net.
[38:39]
Does active net have a report system on it that it's easy to pull numbers or, sure,
[38:45]
hope so.
[38:47]
We've done this before four years ago, back in late before times.
[38:51]
We used to get reports on programming, which programs how much, you know, increases decreases
[38:57]
is where we were seeing, but I think this will be just youth focused.
[39:04]
I'm imagining that they have a way that you could query numbers.
[39:07]
They should.
[39:09]
They definitely should.
[39:11]
And I think that, so if I understood that item correctly, it was to, we just got the commission
[39:17]
to give an overview of what we're offering.
[39:21]
We can discuss it, which ones are, you know, or do we have any gaps?
[39:25]
You know, maybe the public can see that that's an agendized item, kind of like the gentleman that came tonight.
[39:31]
Like, do you have an idea that would fit in this discussion item that you think would, you know, fill this gap?
[39:38]
And the hope would be that we could then, you know, move forward on making some adjustments.
[39:45]
And, but specifically targeted just to the right now, just for youth program review.
[39:50]
Which is a really big chunk. I mean, I'm not saying it's not, it'll take you. It's quite a bit of information to go through and, but I think hopefully that.
[40:00]
How will then guide some of the questions? There may be things we pick out that we want to focus on as the commission to help with, you know, to help grow, or be able to brainstorm. But I think this is like the framework to understanding it first and then talking about specifics.
[40:16]
And I think this is kind of a living item that we will probably have to bring back over several months because it'll grow.
[40:25]
And usually, when we put something like this on the agenda, especially when it has a lot of details,
[40:32]
then the public will reach out.
[40:34]
I get calls throughout the month.
[40:35]
They're like, oh, what's going on here?
[40:37]
And then again, anyone listening, please come to our meetings.
[40:40]
We would love to have your input.
[40:42]
But that's how I see it happening.
[40:44]
Is that's ideas?
[40:46]
Get the data out in the report so that we can kind of process it, discuss it, and then be like, oh,
[40:52]
there's only five people at this, how can we grow this program?
[40:56]
Yeah, I can't be an ever-changing document, like a living.
[40:59]
And I think it's interesting to know who we're serving.
[41:01]
What age groups do we, what, what, what, you know, what, if we block it out into different
[41:05]
age groups, who do we serve really well, where, you know, that'll help us see if there's gaps.
[41:09]
I also think it's always nice to know who we're serving in and out of the city.
[41:14]
And I think that that data has been in there before.
[41:16]
I don't, I can't see that.
[41:21]
I think we spoke about it last meeting, Jim mentioned just from my personal experience, I think we do have, we have a gap because of COVID, everything being shut down, those, that generation was our, you know, those were the feeder programs of, you know, whether it was the five and six year olds that then missed out on the seven eight nine activities.
[41:45]
and I think that generation is now just about graduated if you were at that
[41:50]
impressionable age and so I think a look at where what age group you know
[41:56]
we're serving and how that's feeding those older programs I think that I
[41:59]
think it'll be really interesting to see how those numbers play out. So I will just
[42:05]
you have to have with that agenda item you'll just work on you'll help work on that
[42:15]
programing review. I mean I can't have the data but we can get it on the agenda and kind
[42:21]
of find a frame it. Okay and then our last item discussion item would be the community
[42:27]
Aquatics program update. We have a staff report and we can go over that. Excited to hear
[42:37]
about that. Yeah, so the summer open and lap swim program
[42:42]
operated from June 28 through August 18th. School did start on
[42:47]
the 19th during which the pool welcomed a total of 1,696
[42:52]
participants. Staffing for the season included 570 hours from life
[42:57]
guards and 26 hours from recreation leaders,
[43:00]
amounting to 596 hours overall. Now that school is back in
[43:05]
The pool schedule has shifted to Sundays, which was the same time during summer Sundays 2 to 6 p.m.
[43:12]
And then we have also started at Mondays and Wednesdays from 6.45 to 8.45 p.m.
[43:19]
The Ohio Recreation Department encourages the community to follow their Facebook and Instagram accounts
[43:23]
for the latest updates regarding pool scheduling and activities.
[43:27]
That's where we'll post any changes, any updates we go straight there.
[43:33]
number one. So yeah it's it's been pretty good and you know there is talk of
[43:40]
opening more nights. Right now it's just some of the lifeguards are in sports
[43:45]
so we're waiting to see how the kids go. We still have the same amount
[43:50]
everybody's still on staff. Everybody's still around but they're just in their
[43:55]
sports. And are all our lifeguards I'm sorry I didn't use it this summer.
[44:00]
Are they all youth or do we have some adult life guards some adult life? So they're able to okay
[44:05]
Maybe staff when the kids are not available. Yeah, it would be really interesting
[44:10]
I think the lake is in its final throes
[44:14]
Weekend is the last of the water park. Oh, if we can vary over in the industry
[44:18]
To see if there are people there that would like to work during the year that we could pick up
[44:22]
Mm-hmm. Oh, that's really interesting just because a lot of those are a lot of college kids too
[44:27]
But some of those, a lot of work with them to see who are high schoolers and reach out to them so that we have a deeper bench.
[44:36]
Because that's part of the part of what's limiting.
[44:38]
Is that part of what's limiting the access at this point?
[44:41]
It's like birds.
[44:43]
Yeah.
[44:43]
Yeah.
[44:43]
At this point.
[44:45]
And it was sort of a trial in the beginning to see if people did really come on the week nights.
[44:50]
So we've had an average of about maybe 10 people a night right now.
[44:54]
So, um, most of them lapse swimming or just wreck recreational, I would say.
[45:00]
It's been really hot, too, so I imagine. I know not everybody reads the Ohio Valley news, but there's a certain subset of people that do, and it would be nice to do an article. You guys could submit a little, this is what the summer was. This is what we're now transitioning into the school year. We have Sundays, we have this, and just put it in the paper and maybe you get to do a little, I mean, you might have to write it yourself, but trying to get it in there with a picture. And see, because I think, I think,
[45:30]
I definitely think, you know, for, I'm just gonna say I think it swings to the older set
[45:37]
who have the paper.
[45:37]
I still have the paper, but, but that, and we don't have as much access always with that group
[45:43]
of people.
[45:43]
So it might be good to use that as a, each time we're changing seasons or kind of changing,
[45:50]
trying to give updates there.
[45:51]
So in the mind, we have access to the pool.
[45:54]
Yeah.
[45:54]
And then, what about our swim lessons continues?
[45:58]
is why MCA continuing to do their programming?
[46:01]
Okay, okay, and are we, I know it's not our programming,
[46:05]
but do we promote that?
[46:09]
Since we're not providing it, I think we should promote it.
[46:11]
We do have the link on the Reptapartman's website
[46:14]
and their Aquatics, so it's got like the daily times
[46:17]
and then it says Saturday's swimming lessons
[46:19]
through YMCA, the link, and then the Sunday Times.
[46:23]
So if they were to do an article in the paper,
[46:25]
that would be a great thing to put in there in the same article.
[46:32]
How many people did you say are coming for the Wednesday, 640, the two hours?
[46:37]
Oh, the Monday and the Wednesday, about 10 people averaging per night.
[46:41]
And then refresh my memory, they pay by the session by the hour.
[46:48]
And what's the cost?
[46:49]
My dollars.
[46:50]
I think it definitely should go in the paper.
[46:52]
Like people.
[46:56]
The Sunday, the two to six, what, what, why?
[47:02]
How did we figure out our sports, I think, right, or?
[47:06]
No, we picked it because we were going to do an earlier
[47:09]
time and people said they wanted to later times.
[47:11]
Then we did a later time.
[47:12]
And then we were thinking maybe even later.
[47:13]
But that was too late.
[47:14]
So this was the in-between.
[47:16]
I think we talked about it.
[47:17]
We were like, it gets hot.
[47:19]
It's hotter at like four or five o'clock.
[47:22]
Yeah.
[47:22]
So some people have the opinion that if it's too hot outside they won't go swimming and then the other people have the opinion that if it's not hot enough then you know, so it's it's
[47:32]
It's kind of thinking as we ease into this part of the year you're looking at lap summers.
[47:37]
Yeah, so it would be interesting to understand what lap summers would want.
[47:42]
And something like that after work.
[47:44]
Yeah, how does how I kind of put a Sunday.
[47:47]
Yeah, yeah.
[47:48]
Then we've gotten up to over a hundred participants on the Sunday, and it's still at 60 something.
[47:54]
So the hours are good, and we haven't heard of any of you.
[47:58]
And it would be interesting if we could extend the hours.
[48:00]
Like if we were to get more lifeguards from the offseason, like to, you know,
[48:07]
or even if you picked up one more, right, like that you can stagger the interesting.
[48:12]
Well, because left summers are a lot of our morning people, like a lot of them do it more in the morning,
[48:16]
been in the afternoon. But I would be just an interesting thing to try and see if we can figure out
[48:20]
what people are looking for on the Sunday. Is there availability early morning?
[48:26]
There's, I believe you guys have a hold. It's available to you the whole day on Sunday.
[48:29]
Sunday is available. Yeah. Yeah.
[48:36]
Survey how many of them come in?
[48:37]
That's what we're going to come in. We wouldn't know unless we did a try. That's how we kind of
[48:42]
got to the two to six is just by trial that I'm curious. Did you already do like 10 to two?
[48:47]
on Sunday now. No. I just wonder how many people would come. I heard that people are busy
[48:53]
Sunday mornings and they won't come out and they do like family breakfast and family
[48:57]
things so that's why we made it later as well. Well, maybe if we could do the article in the
[49:02]
paper we could do a small survey. At the same time, if we can get the article, well, to just
[49:07]
online. Just potentially to see how, you know, I have not a slightly, I'm not sure who's
[49:14]
running them, but on Facebook, there'll be a question that pops up associated with something
[49:20]
that the city's doing and it'll say like take the poll. I think it might be that, oh,
[49:23]
have Allie News, right? Yeah, they did do it a few times. Yeah. I wonder if they would be willing
[49:28]
to do that and ask, like, would 12 to two, would you be interested, or would you, do you like
[49:33]
the hours two to six? What do you do when you come? Or are you a person left swimming? Are you
[49:37]
interested in free swim and see who we're serving? They usually had two or three questions on
[49:41]
I don't know, maybe something we can coordinate with them on.
[49:45]
All right.
[49:46]
Great.
[49:46]
Any other questions on that?
[49:47]
No.
[49:48]
Thank you.
[49:48]
Okay.
[49:50]
And we kind of covered the main ad hoc there.
[49:54]
So I think unless you have anything else to add.
[49:57]
Nope.
[49:58]
That's it.
[49:59]
But if you need any.
[50:03]
Thank you. Thank you. And then under Commission Member Report, I just have one thing, I met with IT earlier today. And because I have an older phone and they had to really struggle to get it up and running. So right now, I can only check my email at my computer. I can't check it on a wireless device. But when the new iPhone 18s come out, I can come back and get one. So be prepared for it.
[50:29]
If you send me an email, you probably should send me a text to say just until I get the phone because I won't be checking it
[50:39]
I'm not it's not gonna ping. I can't even check it on this phone
[50:42]
So know that and then I had IT research
[50:47]
Who had logged in and got their accounts gapped up and going and so
[50:52]
Commissioner Bailey has not and neither has Commissioner Munich
[50:55]
So, I was wondering if you could mail these to their address for me, and then maybe just with like a cover letter that says this needs to be set up, and then just some background for everyone, James was sharing that it's to comply with some, I think it's really about transparency and it makes it really easier for them to do like the public records, but I think it was some case law to San Jose, but anyways, it's here, and then I think that would be helpful.
[51:24]
I'm guessing that's why they're not here tonight, but probably could up the communication.
[51:30]
I know they want it to go through there, but in the interim, probably need to text and do a
[51:37]
better job following up on not a group text, but just like an individual text to say, are you coming,
[51:44]
maybe, I knew we had a quorum tonight, so I wasn't so worried about it, but okay, so that's the only update
[51:49]
that I have coming directly,
[51:54]
and then just, again,
[51:55]
when you kind of already talked about it,
[51:56]
that was just to, I like the idea of having historic files
[52:01]
so when someone like that, you know,
[52:04]
like our gentleman that was here tonight's new to the area,
[52:07]
if he goes back on our commission agenda,
[52:10]
and he looks at that thing,
[52:11]
he can click on the link and the staff reports
[52:13]
will just basically tell him what we're doing
[52:16]
and get away from kind of that verbal stuff.
[52:18]
So that's perfect.
[52:20]
That's really a lie.
[52:21]
I have to report on.
[52:23]
Okay, how about you guys?
[52:27]
I'm good.
[52:28]
And thank you, Art, to our youth commissioner.
[52:30]
I did.
[52:31]
I will share, it's not really my decision.
[52:34]
I mean, I can, I guess I'd genize it,
[52:36]
but might just be a staff decision.
[52:39]
I was talking about James about doing email
[52:41]
for our youth commissioner
[52:43]
because we don't have any way of communicating with you.
[52:48]
So yeah, and that's what they don't want.
[52:50]
So maybe can you, so I mentioned it to him,
[52:54]
and I know there's a cost involved,
[52:55]
but there is a less expensive one for,
[52:58]
it's kind of restrictive.
[53:02]
Oh, one other update, can you follow up with James?
[53:05]
Because I said I would talk about it tonight
[53:07]
to get just a youth commissioner email,
[53:11]
but something very exciting.
[53:13]
And I know we have to be somewhat careful
[53:16]
with serial meetings and compliant with the Brown Act
[53:19]
But we will be able to log on through the computer
[53:23]
to set like Agenda's, and it'll be a Google,
[53:27]
it's not really a Google doc.
[53:28]
I think it's a Microsoft product, but it's like a live document.
[53:32]
So that we can edit it.
[53:35]
You, it'll access, I think you can set up new,
[53:39]
like you could do one with Christie, Brenda, and Sage.
[53:42]
That could be like the playground ad hoc document type
[53:45]
of a thing, and then for the agenda,
[53:47]
it could be myself and Sage and you and others, you know, plenty of staff, just not more than two
[53:52]
commissioners per document. But instead of having to do like a Word doc, PDF, then a bunch
[54:01]
of group emails, we can just go to that cloud. I think is how I understand it. It's all new.
[54:07]
I have an actually logged in so I don't know how it works yet. But it did sound really user-friendly.
[54:12]
Okay. It sounded easy. If you have a computer, you can't do it from your phone. But so I think
[54:16]
that will be really helpful in getting our drafts set to because we'll be able to see, I mean
[54:24]
like with the other Google Docs, you can see the changes or you can like see in real time
[54:29]
what's changing, so I think that will be great, yeah, it's in real time, okay, you know,
[54:34]
there could be multiple people in there at the same time even, you know, sometimes it'll
[54:37]
lock it, you can't touch it, but you could all be in it, okay, great, do you guys use that
[54:43]
for staff. Yeah, for some other things we do. Okay, okay, great. Okay, any other, any other
[54:50]
comments for managers reports? I would like to say that there is an event that's going to
[54:57]
happen at the skate park this Saturday.
[55:00]
Air pizza is going to be out there and a famous skateboarder. Do we know who will be out there?
[55:09]
Yeah. Is it secret? Oh, hi. No, famous famous.
[55:13]
No, we have a flyer out. His last name is Alva, ALVA.
[55:19]
So we've got that going on from 9 to 1. So we've had a lot of shares on our Facebook page.
[55:26]
So hopefully we'll get some, is he performing or giving instructions or what is actually going to be his birthday?
[55:31]
So he's going to be out there celebrating his birthday, but he'll be out there to meet the public as well.
[55:36]
Correct, I think.
[55:37]
Oh, yeah.
[55:38]
So there's that.
[55:40]
And then I did want to mention, I know that we were going to look over at one time the meeting
[55:46]
days and just have like a list of them, maybe this will help the, it should actually go as a formal
[55:56]
motion in January. Okay. Well, we should put it on the agenda for December to set the dates.
[56:04]
I mean, we know they're every Thursday, but there's usually agenda item that has all the
[56:11]
first Thursdays of every month listed, and then we adopt it by formal motion because that's what
[56:18]
is my understanding, like with the brown act, that's our regular meeting schedule. So then if we
[56:24]
to cancel it and have a special meeting or cancel it and go to a different day because you
[56:30]
know something the buildings not available or something that's why it becomes a special meeting
[56:35]
because we set the regular calendar by formal motion. So if we we would put it on for December
[56:42]
would typically, although some years we didn't meet in December. Yeah. That's also why I'm asking. I just
[56:48]
on a plan ahead because I think we're not meeting in January where we are.
[56:54]
I feel like the date felt like there's a fell right close to near.
[56:57]
There's something weird about our probably our traditional.
[57:01]
So we can, it doesn't really matter when we should do it before January.
[57:07]
Maybe we should put that on the November agenda.
[57:10]
So that we have plenty of time to get it accomplished because we know that what the dates are going to be.
[57:17]
I think sometimes historically, they had something on future media dates and it would put the dates of what they were on the agenda and then you could just query people.
[57:30]
But we know it's going to be on the ongoing agenda item.
[57:32]
Yeah, it was just the, and then they would just remind you to say, Oh, okay.
[57:36]
It was available.
[57:37]
Yeah.
[57:37]
If you see anybody have conflicts for the next few months.
[57:40]
You're saying like have it as a standing on the agenda.
[57:43]
You can get to put the dates in there and we know what day and week it is, but yeah, and then put the dates on there, we'll discuss it.
[57:51]
And it's like a tickler, I think. I mean, there's, you know, we can do that.
[57:53]
Or we could call it next month's meeting.
[57:58]
And, okay, sure.
[57:58]
But you want to have a few listed.
[58:00]
You could do like two at a time or three at a time.
[58:04]
Because things change.
[58:06]
I don't know, at this rate, we might just need to go mum and visit like this.
[58:10]
I guess like summer's over for me and I'm just like well, maybe we can cover I can cover it under
[58:18]
Like under just like commission reports. We could say has everybody check their availability for next month's meeting
[58:26]
Just like a poll. Yeah, okay. Good idea. Yeah, it feels like a little days
[58:32]
three lonely three
[58:34]
Okay, okay, and we have a city anything else Christie?
[58:39]
No, that's okay. Thank you.
[58:43]
Not right now, and when you have time, I'd love to hear about some of them. Like the breakdown of that and you know all the details and how it went. I think it went great, but just share with us.
[58:55]
Kind of like the numbers or do you want me just to get it?
[58:59]
Yeah, just you know, do you have them? Well, well, I don't have them all. I could gather you something because we did do the
[59:06]
the field trips on Wednesdays, and then we had the water days on Friday, so we went to
[59:13]
a lot of cool places on Wednesdays. You know if you have, I know you don't have time, but
[59:17]
if you would, like a couple of pictures. Oh yeah. You do it would be fun to see with your numbers
[59:23]
and just to share with everybody. Okay, and highlight, okay. If you do have access to Facebook or Instagram,
[59:29]
we did post every week. She doesn't, can you believe I know that she does it? That's why I'm
[59:33]
That's why I'm talking to everyone else over here with me. I know she's okay. So no, but we do
[59:41]
Yeah, we do have a end of the week, you know, sort of like group updates. So I'll print them out for you
[1:00:00]
Okay. She has a lot of more free time. That's what I'm gathering.
[1:00:06]
I have an Instagram that I turn on and turn off occasionally.
[1:00:10]
Oh, I didn't know this. Okay.
[1:00:12]
We have a city council liaison here tonight.
[1:00:16]
Do you have a report?
[1:00:17]
The same other than thank you guys. I appreciate all you do.
[1:00:20]
Christy, your time and everything. It's a pleasure to meet you as well.
[1:00:24]
Keep doing what you're doing. I was a little nervous when I got here in that,
[1:00:26]
are they going to have a meeting so I'm glad you guys pulled it off and I appreciate you so
[1:00:31]
thanks for all you do. Thanks for coming.
[1:00:36]
Okay all right and so I have Christie just to recap
[1:00:40]
I have for our next agenda just as a draft we'll have a playground update we'll get some clarification
[1:00:47]
from public works on day bangs and and kind of what you know catalog we can source from
[1:00:56]
So we'll coordinate with the ad hoc and so that next month we'll have a more understanding
[1:01:02]
of what we can source and then we'll get an update kind of just possibly something very brief
[1:01:09]
on the shade at the solar shade at Libby.
[1:01:12]
I think could we just put that under the energy support?
[1:01:16]
Yeah.
[1:01:17]
We could just list it under there and set that.
[1:01:19]
Okay.
[1:01:22]
I'd really like to know, can we have that for there's a couple of months?
[1:01:27]
I'd like to kind of, well, I do like, it doesn't have to be, you know, super robust, but I think it would be helpful to have it as a discussion item just for the next couple of months only because we can make recommendations that way.
[1:01:45]
And if something comes up where, you know, we have information that maybe 12 o'clock is better after daylight savings time and, you know, I just like to have that.
[1:01:59]
I think people also when they look at the agenda.
[1:02:01]
Yeah, they see it.
[1:02:02]
Mostly look at the special items.
[1:02:04]
Yeah, I think just, and it doesn't have to take a long time for us to talk about it.
[1:02:09]
If the update is no update, we're not going to need to next month, that's fine too.
[1:02:15]
But I would like to see the, I'd like to really hear more about the shade.
[1:02:19]
I think going over the bleachers, that's a really great idea, because that gets really hot
[1:02:25]
there, especially at the tournament, as long as I guess it doesn't interfere with play.
[1:02:30]
And so definitely a playground, we've got the solar youth programming we are just
[1:02:34]
about and then can we can we put the panacube ball for puttonk thank you I wrote it
[1:02:48]
phonetically first on the agenda and then maybe in between we are you for
[1:02:57]
earlier with Peter, because he didn't leave his phone number on here.
[1:03:02]
I have a seat now.
[1:03:03]
Okay, so maybe we can reach out and get he sounded really eager to do kind of a lot of the
[1:03:10]
heavy lifting on doing the research and then we can talk about if that's something that the
[1:03:16]
public and the commission can move forward.
[1:03:20]
We have it on the agenda.
[1:03:23]
Anything else?
[1:03:25]
Yep, I think that's good.
[1:03:26]
So I'm also going to leave the heat capture the capture the capture.
[1:03:28]
And then the hydrogen items even won't be on next month.
[1:03:31]
Be doing our calendar. Yes. Yes.
[1:03:33]
I have that next month's meeting dates.
[1:03:36]
We'll put that. I'll just put it like right here.
[1:03:38]
Oh yeah. But even the larger calendar too.
[1:03:42]
Oh. We can't do that.
[1:03:43]
Yeah. Yeah.
[1:03:43]
So that it's a tickler.
[1:03:45]
She, I think, thank Chris.
[1:03:46]
You ready for November.
[1:03:49]
And then.
[1:03:52]
Well, and since this, if this since the snack first going to open up on the 15th.
[1:03:56]
We should leave. It's almost like a repeat of what we have to be honest because that'll be really great to see the numbers and stuff for the next meeting because we'll have a couple weeks of service
[1:04:08]
Okay
[1:04:11]
Perfect. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[1:04:19]
I'll adjourn the meeting. Thank you
[1:04:22]
Yes, that's right. I'm adjourning the meeting
[1:04:27]
705
[1:04:46]
It wasn't anything, but I'm just like...
