[10:13] season and that staff be directed to negotiate and finalize a new 4-year

[10:20] agreement with the GBSR for the use of the existing trail system throughout K

[10:25] Township, including the Tayshore Trail between Triple Bay Road and Duffy Drive

[10:30] and return the agreement to council for final approval. Mr. Bariel, do you have

[10:49] mixed feelings about this. I understand what the intent is, but I have a few

[10:53] questions that the chair will allow me to ask, but originally going back a few

[10:57] years, we granted these individuals the right to access on the trail that would

[11:01] consist of a pave section right down which is very easy to walk on. And I'm

[11:06] curious and wonder if there is any merit to their concern about legitimate

[11:11] walking. I know that the trail is kept at about a foot and I argue my last

[11:16] council meeting was that they have excess to walk on this not a problem. I

[11:20] don't know about you, but I walked down the sidewalks to take they do a lot of

[11:23] walking. When it's accumulation and it gets soft, it that's difficult to walk

[11:27] on. And I noticed in the report that you said there was some people that were in

[11:31] favor and about five that were against. But do we recognize that the uh you know

[11:36] the u submission that they circulated you know was about 100 some people on it

[11:41] that objected to this. So I'm just curious are we really you know taking

[11:46] some that was really really good to only acceptable to a few. I know snowmobiles

[11:51] have the ability to go anywhere they want. They drive down the roads that

[11:55] this is such a short distance. I I have a hard time believe it's a major

[11:58] thoroughare and I'm always curious how many action machines use it. So, I do

[12:03] have difficulty and I have sympathy for the old individual for trying to walk

[12:06] and this is this was the attend originally. So, I don't know if I'm I'm

[12:11] I'm in favor of it, but I I'm sitting on the fence on this, but I I rather see it

[12:15] left the way it is, but I'll take the whims of council and see where we go

[13:51] » I don't want to speak for Chief Chief Himer, but Tay Fire didn't respond to

[13:55] anything. Um we have no record or uh OP did not contact us regarding any

[14:03] incidents on the trail. Um and the snow riders um they rely on the OP so they

[14:11] really don't have any uh record of anything happening on the trail that we

[14:16] need to know about.

[14:20] and a followup comment, councelor Larmont.

[14:29] other uh comment and that is I know originally back when we turned around

[14:34] and even started opening the trail and I think Mr. Robinson was instrumental in

[14:39] doing this and I think it was a great idea at the time because nothing else

[14:43] had been brought forth. I think moving forward uh being a multi-use uh trail as

[14:49] the report uh mentions

[14:53] and us having you know 40 kilometers roughly of sidewalks um I think we can

[15:00] uh extend this uh agreement with the Georgian Bay Snow Riders and u there

[15:06] will be times when uh walking may be difficult on the trail yet our sidewalk

[15:12] should be in fair shape so That's my position. Thank you,

[20:57] We've modified it again a bit to utilize some of the lands to the south because

[21:18] start. The other way is it would have been a winter start. Most contractors

[21:23] would have pushed to spring anyways. So, we're hoping that this by doing this

[21:29] we've um have the best layout as possible for that site for the plant and

[21:48] economic benefit. So, we we will see a huge drop in the cost Sean. So, I think

[32:26] collaboration happening between uh the four municipalities. In fact, uh, memory

[32:31] serves me right, the mayors used to have regular meetings as well. Uh, and then

[32:36] bit by bit, uh, some of the other municipalities started pulling away. So,

[32:40] um, I I find it ironic that TE has put in there since it more or less fell

[32:45] apart and we really had, I don't think, anything to do with it falling apart.

[32:49] Having said that, uh, any opportunity for us to get back to those kind of

[32:55] arrangements, uh, I think would be welcome. but not only the municipalities

[32:59] but the all the residents as well because there was some good work that

[33:02] came out of that. Anyway, I just wanted to push that out there. Thank you.

[33:22] Raymond's comments. Yeah, we we the previous term we used to get together

[33:26] every uh every month or so. Uh the problem with the current uh group is

[33:33] three of the four mayors work full-time as well. So their availability is not uh

[33:40] what was there previously with four retired people. Um, we do still um we we

[33:47] do still communicate with each other on a fairly regular basis through uh

[33:52] through um texts and emails. But I think this uh gentleman is more

[33:59] referring to an amalgamation than anything else.

[34:03] And I'm afraid uh what's prompted him, if you notice the actions he wants is uh

[34:11] a full pause on multi-million dollar expansion projects.

[34:16] And then he notes such as the tiny township administrative building.

[34:22] So I think that's the precipice for his uh his um desire to write because as far

[34:29] as I know the gentleman has never contacted me or any member of staff to

[34:36] review our financials. So I'm not sure uh where he gets off on

[34:42] the um uh inefficiencies etc. It seems to me that there's one item that uh

[34:49] prompted this and he's throwing the other three municipalities in there as

[35:04] Other than that, just to go along with what Mayor Walker says, you know,

[35:08] amalgamation and this one part that's been ongoing since 1994, and that was

[35:13] back when the uh pro when we did amalgamate and the province did announce

[35:17] even back then that uh municipalities didn't go far enough. So, what happens

[35:22] in the future? Who knows? Um but yeah, I think uh it's noted. I do know other

[35:30] uh members of council, not with our municipality are making comments to do

[35:36] with that. So we'll leave it at that as information. So not seeing anyone else.

[35:44] Uh we have uh no delegation followup. General discussion committee staff
