[12:47] basis. So,

[12:50] um we last year we did a grant with the

[12:54] housing authority to remodel uh

[12:58] I think about 10 or so units in the building.

[13:03] And uh we were looking towards maybe continuing that effort to

[13:10] uh improve those uh those the units that had not been touched

[13:15] yet. Um and so, we approached

[13:18] rather belatedly approached the housing authority to do another joint grant for

[13:24] 2020 uh six

[13:27] that would allow us to do those I think it's about half, right Joe? So,

[13:33] it's another 10 units or so. >> Correct, another 10 units.

[13:38] » So, then we'll um uh

[13:41] so, because we were a little late to the party and I'm I'm not

[13:45] yeah, they they don't um we've been told by their

[13:50] uh their staff that they think it's a good grant, but they bring it to their

[13:55] board on Wednesday this week. So, as of Wednesday this week, we'll

[14:00] know whether we have a joint grant to submit to FMLD

[14:06] with the housing authority for this project. We'll know that on Thursday and

[14:10] then we'll run it down up to Palm Springs

[14:13] and we'll all be good to go. If for some reason the board um

[14:20] the housing authority board would decide not to

[14:24] uh pursue that grant then we have a a contingency in that uh

[14:30] RE2 schools have asked us

[14:35] uh and I don't know when they started asking, but they've asked us to sign on

[14:40] as a joint uh grant

[14:43] uh applicant for their grant application

[14:48] that would build a new playground at Riverside Elementary School.

[14:54] Um uh it was our staff's

[14:59] uh I guess [clears throat]

[15:00] uh thought on this that we really uh

[15:03] our first first priority should be so senior housing, uh use that money that

[15:09] we could get from them and and really do a a bang-up job on that second phase and

[15:14] not wait. Uh

[15:16] but, since it's not a slam dunk, we wanted to make you aware of that and to

[15:22] sort of get a contingency approval to uh partner with RE-2 schools on their

[15:29] grant uh if that were to happen.

[15:32] Um they have asked us for money and I've not uh

[15:41] told them we give them any. Um I was kind of thinking, you know, we

[15:44] could maybe give them a token uh

[15:47] a thousand bucks or something uh just to show that we had some skin in the game

[15:51] for that project, but um I know it wasn't budgeted. It's not something that

[15:55] we've ever talked about, so I didn't want to

[15:58] uh get too out on the far out on the gangplank on that.

[16:02] Uh but so I think really I think what we're asking you tonight is to approve

[16:07] the resolution 32 with a a contingency that we switch our

[16:14] uh grant um

[16:18] sponsorship or or signing you into the joint grant from the housing authority

[16:24] to RE-2 schools should the housing authority not approve it in their

[16:29] meeting on Wednesday.

[20:15] kids shouldn't suffer not be able to get a better playground or some of those

[20:32] legwork and doing all this to take care of the kids that they see in their

[26:19] uh extension. Uh I don't know how big it is. This bond

[26:22] extension on the 26th or May be on the 26th ballot. I think they have until

[26:27] about September 4th to vote on it and this would impact

[26:31] silt. Um I would I seems like it'd be

[26:36] uh a good thing uh

[26:38] build a child care center behind Cactus Valley.

[26:41] And then uh also add about 25,000 square feet classroom space at

[26:46] Coleridge. So, I just wanted to make you aware of

[26:50] that in case anybody might have missed it.

[28:57] out really well for everybody. And then the downtown tree lighting is

[29:01] going to be November 24th. It's a the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

[29:07] So last two major events for the 2026 event year and we appreciate all

[29:14] the support that everybody's given. >> I do have one thing to say mayor

[29:19] trustees. The speed table is installed on

[29:22] Grand Avenue out in Painted Pastures. And also the stop signs at Grand and

[29:27] Pickett are up. So you have a four-way stop at Grand and Pickett now. And the

[29:32] speed table out in Painted Pastures. So hopefully that will

[29:36] slow down some residents. >> And we will continue doing enforcement.

[29:43] We have a traffic trailer that we're starting to

[29:46] figure out how to use. So we'll institute that.

[29:51] I can do [clears throat] another traffic survey. The last traffic survey I did

[29:55] was 50 vehicles. The average speed was 23.4

[30:00] mph. So

[30:30] We had 20 or 14 teams, 28 people participate in the horseshoe tournament.

[30:35] Had 10 teams participate in the cornhole tournament.

[30:40] And half of the the entry fees from the cornhole and all the entries from the

[30:44] horseshoes went to the historic park. So, that was a donation of about $348.

[30:49] That goes to that. Um, in addition to just getting more people out and

[30:53] involved in doing things. Um, a special thank you to Rifle Recreation

[30:56] Department, Matt. Um, is why they come over and run that tournament for us. Do

[31:01] all the legwork and bring their boards and all their stuff, which make it run

[31:04] much smoother than anything we could do trying to do it ourselves as a

[31:06] committee. So, the Hay Day Committee greatly appreciates that cooperation

[31:09] there. >> Very nice.

[32:39] asked to be in a lot of places in the early morning, especially the school.

[32:49] Other citizens had issues with the Grand Avenue, so that's why I did the traffic

[32:54] survey. Um And the evidence just spoke for itself,

[32:58] but we'll do what we can for the personnel we have.

[33:05] doing an extra lap or two up and down Grand during those rush hours and on the

[33:08] weekends. >> Myself and uh Officer Kerbs um do a lot

[33:13] of traffic enforcement. Um he's in a marked unit, I'm not in a

[33:19] marked unit, so just because you don't

[33:22] see it red and blue lights, it doesn't mean
