All righty. Good evening. This is the
[0:06]
July 29th uh work session meeting for
[0:09]
the Sopic Agricultural Commission. The
[0:11]
time is 7:05 p.m. Uh we do have a quorum
[0:14]
with myself, Zach Barnett, Vice Chair
[0:17]
Agenda Petro, Deb Humphrey, um Jessica
[0:21]
Parker, and on Zoom we have Bert Hansen.
[0:24]
Um,
[0:28]
I think that's the call to order. Uh, if
[0:30]
we can quickly
[0:32]
uh stand up for the pledge of
[0:33]
>> allegiance.
[0:38]
I to the flag of the United States of
[0:41]
America and to the republic for which it
[0:44]
stands, one nation under God,
[0:47]
indivisible, with liberty and justice
[0:50]
for all. Amen.
[0:52]
>> Please be seated. Bishop
[0:54]
Thank you.
[0:57]
Um, all right. Any public comments? I
[1:00]
believe we have Eningga Hoteling.
[1:02]
You like to come up?
[1:03]
>> Yes, sir.
[1:08]
» Good evening, everyone. Ingga Hoteling,
[1:10]
45 Klein Road,
[1:13]
and I've been assisting with Open Farm
[1:16]
Day since its fruition in 2023.
[1:21]
And I have some updates.
[1:27]
» Hi Enga.
[1:28]
>> Hey there, Bert.
[1:30]
>> Hey, Janice.
[1:32]
Just started.
[1:37]
[clears throat]
[1:41]
» And I'm I'm sorry. I'm having a lot of
[1:43]
trouble with my hip today. So, you're
[1:44]
going to see me squirming around trying
[1:46]
to get comfortable. Uh, your video is
[1:49]
actually not even on, so we won't see
[1:50]
it.
[1:54]
» Okay, then.
[1:56]
>> It's fine. I don't think I mean, we
[1:57]
don't need to see a squirm unless you
[1:59]
want us to. [laughter]
[2:04]
So, the first um piece of business that
[2:06]
I'd like to share with everyone is as of
[2:10]
today, I have raised $1,100
[2:16]
in contributions.
[2:17]
>> That's awesome.
[2:19]
>> And I am still waiting to hear back from
[2:24]
six other um businesses from the VCA
[2:29]
Animal Hospital. They have consistently
[2:32]
donated every year since 2023, $200.
[2:37]
And Courtney's been in surgery the past
[2:40]
couple of days. So, I've left her
[2:41]
messages, sent her emails. So, I'm
[2:44]
feeling very optimistic that that it's
[2:46]
going to come to fruition.
[2:48]
>> That's great.
[2:48]
>> Um, I got a new contribution this year.
[2:51]
Wally Computer Associates.
[2:53]
>> Nice.
[2:54]
>> Um, they donated um a hundred. I'm still
[2:57]
waiting to hear back from Stacy at
[2:59]
Wall-E Precision.
[3:02]
Uh Kong, the controller at WGI,
[3:06]
um Mark's Property,
[3:08]
Pioneer Valley Trading Company. I had to
[3:11]
send them a letter of intent, which I
[3:13]
ended up sending the letter that we had
[3:16]
crafted at one of our work sessions.
[3:18]
Okay.
[3:18]
>> So, they have that. And um I personally
[3:22]
know Jason Fiori and their family. So, I
[3:26]
put another little message out there
[3:27]
today. I'm looking for a donation. Um,
[3:30]
I'm waiting to hear back from All Power,
[3:33]
South Insurance,
[3:35]
uh, B&E Tool, and Beacon Bank. Uh,
[3:38]
Binkan Bank is going, which is used to
[3:41]
be the old Birkshire Bank, the old
[3:42]
Warren Roco back in the day.
[3:45]
>> Yeah.
[3:45]
>> Um, they have to go through a process
[3:47]
just like what Jill at Westfield Bank
[3:49]
did. Um, so they have to submit the
[3:52]
letter of intent to corporate and then
[3:54]
they come back. So, um, Giovani, who's
[3:58]
the branch manager here in Southwick,
[4:01]
has the letter and it's been forwarded.
[4:04]
So, once again, I'm feeling fairly
[4:06]
optimistic that probably by midweek next
[4:09]
week, um, we could have another
[4:13]
six to $700.
[4:15]
>> Oh, that's amazing.
[4:16]
>> Excellent. Awesome. So,
[4:18]
>> um, I did have a couple of these
[4:20]
individuals send u requested that they,
[4:23]
you know, as we had stated, the checks
[4:25]
being made out to the town of
[4:26]
Southwitten with the memo agricultural
[4:30]
commission open farm day donation.
[4:33]
>> That's right.
[4:34]
>> So, um, I've done these calls while I've
[4:36]
been at my office and I didn't have the
[4:38]
town hall address right off the tip of
[4:40]
my head.
[4:41]
>> So, I gave them my e, my personal PO box
[4:45]
here in Southwick. Okay. which once I
[4:47]
receive them, then I can coordinate
[4:49]
dropping them off at your home, Zach.
[4:53]
>> That way there, you all can just go
[4:54]
right to the town hall and give it to
[4:56]
them and just give them a little
[4:57]
reminder to put it in your account
[5:00]
>> because I know this select at that point
[5:02]
we um when they have I think the select
[5:04]
board has to um officially receive them
[5:09]
and then that's when it would go into
[5:11]
that account. So,
[5:12]
>> right. So, great. So once those start
[5:15]
trickling in, then I will make sure that
[5:18]
you receive those.
[5:19]
>> Great. Thank you. Great job. Thank you
[5:21]
so much.
[5:22]
>> Yeah, I was really pleased to see a few
[5:24]
new ones that I've noted on before that
[5:28]
have stepped up to the um up to the
[5:31]
plate. So that's going to be cool.
[5:33]
>> Thank you.
[5:34]
The second thing I wanted to share with
[5:37]
you is I know in the past we've put
[5:40]
these at the open farm day farms
[5:45]
>> at the tables. I have x amount left over
[5:50]
from last year.
[5:52]
>> Do you still want to do that this year?
[5:55]
And if so, then my company who is a
[5:58]
nonprofit
[6:00]
will volunteer our copier and we will
[6:04]
make copies of this so that we have
[6:06]
enough
[6:07]
>> to put at all. I'd say probably at least
[6:12]
wait 50
[6:14]
>> 50 of these at least at every farm at
[6:17]
the table.
[6:19]
>> That's great. And this is something that
[6:23]
we created.
[6:25]
>> I want to say it was actually Lissa
[6:28]
>> that created this because some of the
[6:30]
pieces were also provided by the Pioneer
[6:33]
Valley Planning Commission and the town
[6:35]
of Ammerst come.
[6:36]
>> Oh, interesting. Okay.
[6:38]
>> So, I wanted to know if you wanted this
[6:41]
for this year and if so, then I can make
[6:44]
copies at no charge.
[6:45]
>> Is there anything we need to update on
[6:46]
it?
[6:47]
>> Think so. The only thing I was looking
[6:49]
at is the second paragraph. Over 15
[6:52]
active farms and 1,600 acres. I don't
[6:55]
know if those specs are still accurate.
[6:58]
>> Sure.
[6:58]
>> I don't think we've lost any farms
[7:00]
really. Maybe.
[7:03]
>> And then I don't know if the news on
[7:06]
tonight that they're question six on the
[7:08]
ballot is going to be about setting up a
[7:10]
permanent conservation fund to preserve
[7:12]
land.
[7:13]
>> Oh, cool. So, I don't know. Put some
[7:16]
>> nice.
[7:19]
>> Yeah, we can't really get too political.
[7:20]
>> Political. Yeah,
[7:21]
>> we gota be careful with that.
[7:24]
>> Say that we're do that that's happening
[7:25]
without saying vote for it or is that
[7:27]
not I mean you've got a lot of
[7:29]
>> We can I think we can raise awareness.
[7:31]
>> Yeah.
[7:31]
>> Um I mean that's what we're here for,
[7:33]
right?
[7:33]
>> Yeah.
[7:34]
>> Is there any way we could put our 20
[7:36]
anniversary celebration banner on it
[7:39]
anywhere?
[7:40]
>> Do you have a copy of that? I have the
[7:42]
actual um
[7:43]
>> the graphic
[7:44]
>> like a graphic I can
[7:46]
>> that would be kind to me.
[7:48]
>> Okay.
[7:49]
>> To my email that you've been sending me
[7:52]
stuff to
[7:54]
>> and then I can have our graphic artist
[7:56]
>> Oh, cool. Okay.
[7:58]
>> put it on here.
[7:59]
>> That would be great.
[8:00]
>> And then I'll shoot you over a proof.
[8:03]
>> Okay.
[8:04]
>> To make sure you like what you see.
[8:06]
>> That'd be great.
[8:07]
>> And then I can go to town and make
[8:08]
copies.
[8:09]
>> Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, I have it on
[8:11]
um I added it to our um our annual
[8:14]
report and that's how I was able to get
[8:16]
it. I think um it was sent from Dan over
[8:19]
um because he made that banner. So um
[8:22]
I'll send it over to you as soon as I
[8:24]
get home. I'll put my shelf in the
[8:26]
>> Perfect. Thank you.
[8:27]
>> Quick legal size paper and add my stuff.
[8:32]
>> Well, it depends. Well, that's why I'm
[8:33]
presenting it to see what you folks
[8:36]
think because this is something that
[8:37]
we've utilized in 23, 24, and 25.
[8:41]
>> Yeah, I don't think we should stop doing
[8:43]
it, especially if you're willing to
[8:44]
donate it. So,
[8:47]
>> so do you want to add more content?
[8:50]
>> Um,
[8:57]
that's a lot.
[8:59]
>> Yeah, I think I don't know how many
[9:00]
people are actually reading this.
[9:03]
I know. I know. With at our farm what we
[9:06]
would do is we would make sure that they
[9:08]
walked out with one of these
[9:10]
>> and the information about the stables.
[9:15]
>> So, it was like two things, but whoever
[9:18]
the volunteers are at those farms are
[9:20]
going to have to make sure that when
[9:22]
somebody's cruising back
[9:24]
>> Yeah.
[9:24]
>> if they don't have a satchel or
[9:26]
something to put it in when they go to
[9:28]
the farm,
[9:29]
>> then you just want to make sure they're
[9:31]
handed out. Yeah.
[9:33]
>> So, like I said, this is all I had left
[9:35]
over.
[9:37]
>> Oh, that's true.
[9:38]
>> Remember having these at the
[9:39]
>> I don't think I don't think we had them.
[9:41]
>> That's an up.
[9:44]
>> I do remember it, but
[9:45]
>> I remember I think the first year, but I
[9:46]
don't think that we had them at our
[9:48]
place.
[9:49]
>> Yeah, we really didn't have anything to
[9:50]
hand out the last two years. I don't
[9:52]
think
[9:52]
>> we had the
[9:55]
>> the Oh, the passport, right?
[9:57]
>> Passport and the stickers.
[9:58]
>> The stickers. Yeah.
[9:59]
>> I think these are great. I remember
[10:01]
seeing it now.
[10:02]
>> Okay.
[10:03]
>> Yeah, it's a great idea.
[10:04]
>> So, as of right now, we'll look at about
[10:07]
500 copies.
[10:09]
>> Well, people aren't going to pick one up
[10:11]
at every farm if they've already got
[10:12]
one. So,
[10:13]
>> sure. That's true.
[10:14]
>> Yeah. I mean, there's probably every
[10:16]
kid's not going to want this. I would
[10:18]
say one per family.
[10:20]
>> So, I mean, I 250
[10:22]
>> 250 I think is probably the most we
[10:24]
would need.
[10:25]
>> Good thing is you can use them and
[10:27]
>> Yeah. long as nothing.
[10:29]
You can bring them to the meeting next
[10:30]
week.
[10:33]
>> Like the home buyer disclosure and all
[10:34]
that talked about before in the year.
[10:38]
>> Exactly. Yeah.
[10:40]
>> Okay. So, I'll wait for the banner.
[10:42]
>> Okay.
[10:43]
>> And then once I get that, I'll do a
[10:49]
shot of it and send it to you, Bert and
[10:52]
Zach.
[10:53]
>> Yep. Sure. Yep.
[10:57]
Thank you. Yeah, that's a great idea.
[10:59]
>> You see what we're talking about, right,
[11:01]
B?
[11:03]
>> I'll hold it up.
[11:04]
>> Yes. Right.
[11:05]
>> Yep. Yeah. The right to farm. Yeah. Got
[11:07]
it.
[11:14]
» Post this at my house because my guinea
[11:16]
hens are being very loud.
[11:20]
» I [laughter] mean, we live off the road
[11:21]
and away from people, but I'm sure they
[11:23]
can hear them. Anybody who lives even
[11:25]
close.
[11:26]
>> One of my neighbors used to have a
[11:28]
rooster.
[11:29]
>> We have two rooers.
[11:30]
>> I have two roosters. Luckily, it's the
[11:31]
quietest rooster I've ever had.
[11:33]
>> Do you have a muzzle on it?
[11:35]
>> I've tried the neck thing before. I have
[11:36]
a really loud one, but it barely worked.
[11:40]
>> So loud it didn't matter.
[11:42]
>> Yeah, I have two roosters, but I have
[11:44]
six guinea hen because we've gotten them
[11:45]
to try to take care of the tick issue.
[11:48]
We have such a massive
[11:49]
>> We haven't seen hardly any ticks in the
[11:50]
last couple months.
[11:51]
>> I've got wild turkeys. They take care of
[11:53]
mine.
[11:54]
>> Giant feathers.
[11:56]
>> Don't you love them on my turkey sign?
[11:59]
Um, okay. So, the next thing I wanted to
[12:01]
ask is what we've done in the past three
[12:04]
for the past three years is there's the
[12:07]
clipboard at every table for each of the
[12:10]
participants.
[12:11]
>> And I couldn't find my original proof.
[12:14]
All I could find was this mockup that I
[12:17]
had done. We had originally done it in
[12:20]
the past where we would have people code
[12:23]
it the first couple of years. I wanted
[12:26]
to know where the people were coming
[12:27]
from, where they heard about it, so I
[12:30]
could really look at what the price was
[12:32]
for advertising to determine is it
[12:34]
beneficial for us to feed. That's how we
[12:36]
get going into those areas.
[12:38]
>> I thought we were going to if they
[12:40]
voluntarily wanted to give us their
[12:41]
emails this year, we were gonna you're
[12:43]
going to do that, right? Um,
[12:45]
>> so you can tell them about, you know,
[12:47]
what farm day is coming up or something,
[12:49]
you know.
[12:50]
>> Yeah. Yeah,
[12:51]
>> do that. Maybe we could just put a form.
[12:53]
We could put a QR code.
[12:57]
>> That's a great idea.
[12:59]
>> Yeah. Last year, I know when I did it,
[13:01]
um, I did a thing where I I I was
[13:03]
curious on adult children, senior ratio
[13:07]
to see what
[13:09]
>> So, I just made a code of my own on it
[13:11]
when I was writing people in. And it was
[13:13]
interesting because I wanted I truly
[13:15]
wanted to see
[13:16]
>> the age categories we had and because I
[13:19]
was at Cowards in the morning and I
[13:20]
thought for sure it would be mostly kids
[13:23]
>> and it was not.
[13:24]
>> Right.
[13:25]
>> It was a lot of senior citizens, lots of you know
[13:30]
>> I would say anywhere from 50 on.
[13:32]
>> Mhm.
[13:33]
>> People who purchase products
[13:35]
>> and Yeah. age-wise. And I thought that
[13:37]
was really interesting because they were
[13:38]
taking the train rides at Cowards. They
[13:40]
were doing all the things. Oh yeah, but
[13:42]
it wasn't they had the stickers. They
[13:46]
>> Oh, the adults love the stickers more
[13:47]
than the kids.
[13:48]
>> But it was it was interesting to track
[13:50]
that and it might be it because that's
[13:53]
>> there's a lot of people coming in
[13:54]
though. It's hard to collect all that
[13:56]
data quickly before they disappear,
[13:58]
>> right? I mean, I just jotted it down. I
[14:00]
knew I would see people come in. I
[14:02]
welcome them. And then I'd quickly write
[14:04]
down approximate two seniors, two kids,
[14:06]
whatever, or you know, two adults and
[14:09]
two kids, however it was. as I would
[14:11]
write it down and it it just let me see
[14:13]
that it wasn't what I thought the
[14:15]
population would be being my first year
[14:17]
doing the farm day. Um I I just I was
[14:21]
kind of surprised by it because that
[14:23]
might be how we steer
[14:26]
what events people might be thinking of
[14:29]
doing at their farms or things they
[14:31]
might want to do is to the age
[14:33]
population that you're getting the most
[14:35]
of.
[14:36]
>> Kids aren't going to show up there
[14:37]
without parents.
[14:39]
No, but I really was surprised on how
[14:41]
many people were older.
[14:43]
>> Did I not do the code last year?
[14:45]
>> That's it, right? That's where the first
[14:48]
two years we did the one with the code
[14:50]
because I was tracking our expenses
[14:52]
going to advertise. So then last year
[14:55]
and like I said, this is all I have to
[14:58]
show.
[14:58]
>> Yeah.
[14:59]
>> Because
[15:00]
>> I can't find my original. So last year
[15:04]
we kept it really simple.
[15:06]
>> It was just the farm. Yeah,
[15:08]
>> there must still be copies of that in
[15:09]
the bags or something.
[15:11]
>> I just see I dismantled all of those.
[15:14]
>> Now you know this is what you're looking
[15:15]
for because I sent you some things, but
[15:17]
it wasn't this.
[15:18]
>> No, no, but I've got the mothership of
[15:20]
this.
[15:20]
>> Oh, okay. Oh, okay.
[15:22]
>> Yeah, I got to find the mothership.
[15:23]
>> Hey. Hey. And everybody remember last
[15:26]
year if people come and they already
[15:28]
have a passport, we weren't going to ask
[15:30]
them where they're from
[15:32]
>> and all. Right. That was a great
[15:33]
indication.
[15:34]
>> So, yeah. So last year we went with
[15:36]
strictly the farm, Bert's cell phone
[15:39]
number, and how many guests. That's all
[15:43]
that we tracked last year.
[15:44]
>> I think we should use my cell phone
[15:45]
number this year cuz
[15:46]
>> Well, that's my next question was whose
[15:49]
cell phone number do we want to
[15:51]
>> I think we should have two a backup one.
[15:53]
Um
[15:54]
>> last year I personally had trouble
[15:56]
getting a hold of Bert. So um I don't
[16:01]
>> Yeah, I did.
[16:04]
you were running around. I don't know.
[16:06]
>> I could not get a hold of you because we
[16:08]
had people. It was the whole dilemma at
[16:11]
um Blossoming Acres. There weren't any
[16:14]
volunteers there.
[16:15]
>> I couldn't get a hold of you. I called
[16:17]
you. I left you message. I think I
[16:18]
texted the group.
[16:20]
Um but I think we should have my number
[16:23]
on there.
[16:25]
I don't know if you want yours like
[16:27]
secondary bird or if you want it, Jen.
[16:29]
>> I can. Yeah, it's up to you. I don't
[16:31]
>> Well, it depends too on if because I had
[16:34]
told Jen if she wanted me to do any
[16:38]
running around or not be a stationary
[16:40]
person.
[16:41]
>> I think we need as many stationary
[16:42]
people as possible that are membersh.
[16:45]
>> Um,
[16:46]
>> absolutely.
[16:46]
>> To represent. Yeah.
[16:48]
>> Yeah. Especially the busier farms.
[16:50]
>> Yeah.
[16:51]
>> We need we need to make Lanita happy
[16:54]
this year. She was one of the people
[16:57]
that had issues with not enough
[16:59]
volunteers last year. So she needs a
[17:01]
minimum I think two in the morning, two
[17:02]
in the afternoon
[17:03]
>> at least.
[17:03]
>> Yeah, minimum.
[17:05]
>> And responsible individuals that are
[17:07]
that you know are going to show up.
[17:09]
>> So do you want to give me or Oh, I've
[17:12]
got your number and my phone. So I'll
[17:14]
put the your number on there and
[17:17]
>> Yeah,
[17:18]
>> I've got Jen's. Okay. So I'm going to
[17:20]
add those on here. And I sent you and I
[17:24]
sent the three of you earlier today a
[17:27]
revised volunteer information sheet.
[17:30]
>> Oh yeah.
[17:31]
>> That will go for the orientation that
[17:35]
you're hosting. And then we'll have I'm
[17:38]
going to make I think I'm going to make
[17:40]
them like in a green color so that on
[17:42]
each clipboard they've got these
[17:44]
>> so it kind of stands out.
[17:46]
>> So it stands out so that you've got the
[17:48]
safety protocol. You've got who to call.
[17:51]
>> I just put 413 and uh
[17:54]
>> I I didn't make a bunch of copies, so if
[17:56]
you want to pass that around,
[17:58]
>> but it's the same concept of what we've
[18:00]
done since 2023 that we use at the
[18:03]
orientation and always have right at the
[18:05]
desk just in case somebody has a
[18:08]
question.
[18:09]
>> So for that that document there, I'll
[18:12]
put both Zach and Jen's cell phone
[18:14]
number again.
[18:15]
>> Okay.
[18:19]
Maybe put them in bold, bigger letters
[18:21]
so that they know that I mean we could
[18:22]
explain it at the orientation, but
[18:24]
basically that's
[18:25]
>> Yeah. Not everyone shows up to the
[18:26]
orientation.
[18:27]
>> Exactly. Yeah. Right.
[18:28]
>> Just to highlight that those are the
[18:30]
numbers.
[18:32]
>> Yep.
[18:32]
>> And um I'll definitely make them bold,
[18:35]
but that's something too where
[18:36]
unfortunately this year I'm not going to
[18:38]
be able to participate at the farm. Um,
[18:42]
so I've got um Carol who's going to be
[18:46]
there in the morning
[18:48]
>> and I'm talking with Holly at Klein View
[18:51]
Stables Saturday at noon to coordinate
[18:54]
for each mothers.
[18:55]
>> Oh, beautiful.
[18:56]
>> Because I need parking because we're
[18:58]
parking in the field.
[19:00]
>> So, we need to have some engaging that.
[19:02]
And
[19:02]
>> it's going to be a nice hot dry day.
[19:06]
>> I did that last year. Yeah. Yeah. The
[19:08]
year before the year before.
[19:09]
>> Yeah. Pine view this year.
[19:10]
>> Yeah. going
[19:12]
to be the afternoon.
[19:13]
>> Perfect.
[19:14]
>> So, that's where um what Carol will do
[19:17]
is she'll pass on whatever information
[19:20]
that's important for you to be aware of
[19:22]
because I'm not going to be there all
[19:24]
day. I'm not going to be there at all.
[19:26]
So, um so that's
[19:29]
>> I don't think we're a little hiccup
[19:31]
>> the Dian Southic stuff. Don't I don't
[19:34]
know that we're really promoting them
[19:36]
this year.
[19:36]
>> So, okay. So, I'll take that out.
[19:39]
>> Yeah.
[19:40]
Um just we've had lack of uh
[19:43]
participation from them. So
[19:44]
>> Okay,
[19:47]
everyone's still here.
[19:48]
>> Yeah,
[19:48]
>> Greg is volunteering.
[19:50]
>> Greg's volunteering.
[19:51]
>> Uh he's going to be at um Blasph,
[19:56]
» right? Where's he going to be? Blasphemy
[19:58]
Acres with Martha.
[19:59]
>> Maybe he can have a sign.
[20:01]
>> We we have a couple signs.
[20:02]
>> Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
[20:03]
>> Oh, I'll mention that to him. He's We've
[20:05]
been
[20:06]
>> Yeah. We didn't like this year we didn't
[20:08]
involve any other departments or boards
[20:11]
or
[20:12]
>> um
[20:15]
interests.
[20:16]
>> We tried to though we're trying to get
[20:17]
volunteers down.
[20:19]
>> Okay. So I'll delete that from the
[20:23]
>> but yeah if he wants to have a sign
[20:24]
there that would be great. I do have
[20:26]
>> the year that we did include
[20:29]
>> um Greg and Marissa. Neither of them
[20:33]
volunteered.
[20:35]
I wrote that for also today.
[20:40]
>> Okay. So, I'll make that change.
[20:42]
>> Yeah, that's the problem.
[20:44]
>> Then I'll zip it over to you both for
[20:46]
approval and then once you give me the
[20:49]
AOK, then I'll make
[20:53]
>> probably a 100 copies.
[20:56]
>> Okay.
[20:56]
>> Yeah.
[20:58]
I think so.
[21:00]
>> 50 copies in green.
[21:04]
Okay.
[21:07]
And next on my list was the bins. But
[21:10]
Bert, I'll swing by your Juliet on
[21:13]
Friday at some point and pick up the
[21:14]
bin. It'll probably be closer between 5
[21:16]
and 6.
[21:18]
>> Okay, that's fine. Yeah.
[21:19]
>> And what I'll do is I'm going to put
[21:21]
together all of the bags
[21:25]
this weekend and then coordinate with
[21:28]
Jen to pick them up so she'll have them
[21:30]
for the orientation. Sure, that would be
[21:33]
great.
[21:33]
>> And handles out then.
[21:37]
And
[21:40]
I wanted to also bring to your attention
[21:42]
about the signs that we had talked about
[21:45]
for checkin here. Some of the feedback
[21:48]
last year was that there was confusion
[21:51]
where the guests were coming to
[21:56]
even though I thought the tables would
[21:58]
define it along with the tent.
[22:01]
didn't have many.
[22:02]
>> It depends where they park
[22:03]
>> farm. I guess
[22:04]
>> depends on the farm where they park how
[22:06]
they come in. Yeah.
[22:07]
>> So, so I'm So, I propose that we make a sign a regular 18 by it's 18 by 24.
[22:15]
Your typical lawn signs that is white
[22:19]
background going pretty much to our town
[22:21]
seal and the green lettering that the
[22:24]
top line is going to be check.
[22:27]
Second line is going to be in. third row
[22:30]
is or fir third line is going to be
[22:32]
here. So it's a standalone singlesided
[22:36]
sign
[22:37]
that you can put right by the table
[22:40]
saying check in here.
[22:43]
>> How many you thinking like 12 10?
[22:46]
>> 10 because each farm is going to have
[22:48]
10. Um
[22:50]
>> some the thing I was thinking about the
[22:52]
age sands some places have concrete like
[22:55]
um there's no like place to dig them in
[22:58]
to the
[22:59]
>> so those places we're probably going to
[23:01]
need
[23:02]
>> tape or something
[23:03]
>> like I'm thinking
[23:04]
>> doesn't work in a monsoon then
[23:06]
[laughter]
[23:07]
>> we found that out
[23:08]
>> we have had
[23:10]
neither do the pens remember. Yeah.
[23:13]
[laughter]
[23:13]
>> So, um I know I've got at least eight
[23:17]
Hooks. Those H they call them H stands.
[23:20]
>> Okay.
[23:21]
>> But for the ones that don't,
[23:26]
I'm not sure who those would be.
[23:28]
>> I'm thinking like I haven't been to
[23:30]
Malicious yet, but I don't
[23:31]
>> Malicious has plenty of dirt.
[23:33]
>> He does.
[23:33]
>> Yeah. I think it's actually Gravel
[23:35]
Drive.
[23:35]
>> You're referring to Sandville Scoop,
[23:38]
right?
[23:38]
>> Malicious we have this year. Oh,
[23:39]
Malicious and Grandpa Scoop is on there,
[23:42]
too. But they have it's a dirt drive
[23:48]
is up on the porch. Usually you
[23:51]
>> you check in on the porch. So,
[23:54]
>> you know, lower the stairs.
[23:57]
>> That would
[23:58]
say
[23:59]
>> keeping it right to the table would
[24:00]
probably be the best way anyway just
[24:02]
because you want them to look up a
[24:05]
little. They're probably looking up. Um,
[24:08]
>> so they have a railing, too. It could
[24:10]
just be attached to the railing.
[24:11]
>> Yeah, we could we'll figure it out.
[24:13]
Yeah.
[24:13]
>> Okay. So, do we want Well, I've not
[24:16]
[clears throat] heard back from
[24:17]
Spotlight after four calls.
[24:19]
>> Yeah. What's
[24:20]
>> Hello.
[24:20]
>> I've not heard back from Marie Rean, but
[24:24]
she's had a tragedy in her family. I
[24:27]
sent her another email earlier this
[24:29]
week. But Southwoods has given me a
[24:32]
price.
[24:32]
>> Okay.
[24:33]
>> And for 10
[24:36]
singlesided
[24:37]
full size 18 by 24
[24:41]
uh without the stakes $115.50.
[24:45]
>> How much?
[24:46]
>> $115.50
[24:49]
for 10 of them.
[24:52]
And it would be a three-day turnaround
[24:54]
time.
[24:54]
>> Oh, that's not bad.
[24:56]
>> We need them that big. that it's does
[24:59]
it's not going to behoove us to cut cut
[25:01]
them. It's going to be the same price.
[25:03]
>> Okay.
[25:04]
>> Yeah.
[25:04]
>> So,
[25:05]
>> you know, we we actually have 11 uh
[25:08]
farms this year, which is a pain in
[25:11]
terms of this.
[25:13]
>> Can we do 12? Just have an
[25:16]
>> Yeah, I can I'll call Martin tomorrow
[25:20]
and get a price for 12. I'd like to um
[25:23]
allocate the money now. So we can let me
[25:27]
just figure out the price.
[25:28]
>> Yeah. Take the 15.50 divide it by 10. So
[25:32]
>> I mean even if we're short like I don't
[25:35]
think at like points it would not really
[25:37]
be an issue.
[25:38]
>> Yeah. And the same thing at CR,
[25:41]
>> right?
[25:42]
>> Well like so you have the sunflowers on
[25:45]
one side and and so if
[25:48]
>> Oh they do. Okay.
[25:49]
>> Okay. So, you're allocating the money
[25:51]
for
[25:52]
>> allocate. I make a motion to uh allocate
[25:55]
up to $150 to Southwoods for check and
[25:58]
hear signs.
[25:59]
>> I second that motion.
[26:00]
>> Um roll call vote. Zach Bara I.
[26:02]
>> Jennifer Petro I.
[26:04]
>> Deb Humphrey I.
[26:06]
>> Louis Parker. I
[26:09]
>> Bert.
[26:10]
>> Oh, I'm sorry. I I I forgot that Janice
[26:13]
is not technically a member yet.
[26:17]
>> Bert Hansen. Hi.
[26:19]
>> All right. Unanimous.
[26:21]
>> All right. [laughter]
[26:22]
>> All right. So, you got $150. You got
[26:24]
$150 to play with.
[26:26]
>> Okay. So, it's not going to be that
[26:28]
much.
[26:29]
>> No, it's just
[26:30]
>> It won't be that much. But what I'll do
[26:32]
is I'll call Martin tomorrow request 12
[26:37]
>> and let him know to invoice you.
[26:40]
>> Yeah. The ad.
[26:41]
>> The Okay.
[26:42]
>> I think they have an account number.
[26:44]
>> Yeah. seems to be an issue every time
[26:46]
they do it. But
[26:46]
>> oh,
[26:47]
>> we eventually it always gets squared
[26:49]
away.
[26:50]
>> Just usually
[26:53]
» flower box flower shop guys.
[26:56]
>> I have not for a donation.
[26:58]
>> I can talk to them.
[27:01]
>> Anyone you know
[27:03]
>> we'll always take more money.
[27:06]
>> Sure.
[27:06]
>> I'll mention it. So I'll ask them do you
[27:08]
want to volunteer or donate?
[27:10]
>> Yes. [laughter]
[27:11]
>> You don't
[27:13]
see It wasn't one or the other.
[27:16]
>> Yeah. And the contributions when I
[27:19]
reached out to say Beacon Bank the other
[27:22]
day, I told them contributions we're
[27:24]
seeing a range between $50 and $500.
[27:28]
>> Okay.
[27:29]
>> So, it's whatever they feel comfortable
[27:33]
saying. Yes, here you go. Town of South
[27:36]
and care of the agricultural commission
[27:39]
for open farm day. So, the only other
[27:42]
thing I wanted to mention is when I
[27:45]
spoke to Scott at Tinneic Nursery, um,
[27:48]
he did recommend that we use his
[27:51]
property again this year for one of our
[27:54]
big signs.
[27:55]
>> And I said, so we can count,
[27:58]
>> the library.
[28:02]
>> Well, it's it's for sale, but it's still
[28:04]
owned. And because when I asked him last
[28:07]
year for the donation, I said, "Well,
[28:09]
what about your piece of property
[28:11]
>> because it gets such great visibility."
[28:14]
>> So, he's already agreed that once you
[28:17]
all start distributing the signs to put
[28:20]
one of the the signs there.
[28:22]
>> That's right. At the at the library.
[28:26]
>> Yeah. The little old library.
[28:29]
>> That's great.
[28:30]
>> So,
[28:31]
>> definitely. And we should start putting
[28:32]
out those big signs soon, right?
[28:36]
>> Probably a week before maybe.
[28:38]
>> Well, we did it a couple weeks last year
[28:40]
beforehand and we didn't lose a sign.
[28:42]
>> We didn't lose any. We had some I think
[28:44]
the nasty weather is gone, right?
[28:47]
>> Oh, [laughter]
[28:48]
great mind. Jessica, it is it is going
[28:52]
to be a gorgeous day that day. Yes. 70
[28:54]
degrees with light.
[28:56]
>> Yeah, that'd be nice.
[28:57]
>> Yeah. Well, mother nature and I have
[28:58]
already had a conversation. That's
[29:00]
crazy. That's good.
[29:01]
>> So, so just as a recap, um $1,100 so far
[29:06]
in defined definitions. I'll rework that
[29:12]
Southwick
[29:13]
um open farm day promo piece or um right
[29:17]
to farm promo piece. send you a proof
[29:20]
after you send me the banner and then
[29:22]
I'll make 250 of those on a um I
[29:26]
probably add a heavier stock paper and
[29:29]
the farm signin sheets. We're going to
[29:31]
add Zack
[29:34]
>> Jennifer's cell phones to that. for the
[29:39]
orientation for volunteers. We're going
[29:41]
to remove the line about the EDC dine in
[29:45]
Southwick sign D in Southwick QR code
[29:49]
signs
[29:51]
and
[29:54]
I'll talk to Martin tomorrow and get
[29:56]
those check in here signs rolling.
[30:01]
I think that's it.
[30:02]
>> That's a lot. Well, thank you so much.
[30:05]
>> Amazing. Thank you so much. Oh,
[30:08]
pleasure.
[30:09]
>> I need Oh. Oh, one more thing. Then I'll read to the meeting.
[30:14]
>> I like your stickers. [laughter]
[30:16]
>> I've ordered more.
[30:17]
>> Yeah, I was actually Those are great
[30:20]
stickers.
[30:21]
>> I've ordered more of those. Um, and that
[30:23]
would be part of my donation as well.
[30:25]
>> Thank you.
[30:26]
>> And advertising. I know in the past,
[30:29]
Bert, I've done the the purchasing of
[30:32]
well, not the purchasing, but the
[30:33]
placing the orders for the advertising.
[30:36]
Um, do you want me to still do that this
[30:38]
year or is somebody else going to take
[30:40]
care of that?
[30:42]
>> If you are uh able and willing, that
[30:46]
would be fine. Yeah. Um, I think I
[30:48]
copied you on an email I sent to um
[30:51]
Roxan
[30:53]
at the
[30:53]
>> Yes. You know, reminder and Westfield
[30:55]
News and all.
[30:57]
>> Um,
[30:58]
I don't know if do we want to go wider
[31:01]
than that publishing group?
[31:05]
I don't think we need to.
[31:08]
>> Yeah. Well, the first year we went
[31:11]
through Go Local, we hit the Reminder,
[31:16]
we hit a publication in Chipe, and then
[31:19]
obviously the Westfield. And our
[31:22]
advertising cost for 2023 was $1,229.
[31:28]
So, we only have a little over about two
[31:30]
and a half weeks until the actual event,
[31:34]
>> right?
[31:35]
>> Then,
[31:35]
>> do we have time to get things into all
[31:38]
these places?
[31:39]
>> Yeah. Then the year after that in 2024,
[31:44]
we did just the reminder publication and
[31:48]
the Westfield News, and that cost the
[31:51]
AdCom $1,07.
[31:54]
And then that was two years of me
[31:57]
tracking off of that first list where
[31:59]
people are coming from and heard how
[32:00]
they heard about it.
[32:02]
>> Then last year we only spent well excuse
[32:05]
me, you only spent $637
[32:08]
in advertising
[32:10]
and last year we had
[32:14]
1,533
[32:16]
guests
[32:18]
and the the first year we had 1552
[32:22]
guests. And the advertising cost was
[32:26]
virtually half.
[32:28]
>> Yeah. [clears throat]
[32:28]
>> Right.
[32:29]
>> So if we look at the data
[32:32]
>> of what we've done or excuse me, what
[32:35]
you've done the past three years, we
[32:38]
might want to just think or excuse me, I
[32:41]
get a little possessive. You might you
[32:44]
might want to think about just doing
[32:46]
what we did last year.
[32:47]
>> I think so. and maybe ramping up a
[32:49]
little bit more with the Tik Tok and
[32:52]
with the other social media platforms
[32:55]
that you used last year. And
[32:58]
>> a lot of a lot of people said it was
[33:00]
word of mouth.
[33:01]
>> Yeah. Someone in town, they knew someone
[33:03]
in town or they related to somebody in
[33:05]
town
[33:06]
>> and they heard about it and told them,
[33:08]
right?
[33:08]
>> That was a lot of the people that I
[33:10]
talked to. So nice to get like a WWLP or
[33:13]
Western Mass News like blurb on there.
[33:16]
One of their things too. I don't think
[33:18]
you have to pay for that
[33:20]
>> through Mass Live.
[33:22]
>> Maybe Mass Live or WWLP.
[33:25]
>> I always wondered because you know at
[33:27]
the weather guys sometimes um what's his
[33:30]
face? Um he'll he'll be up there and
[33:31]
he'll say he does a lot of promo for
[33:34]
Northampton like what's going on in
[33:36]
Northampton? Hello. There's things going
[33:38]
on in other towns. Well, like the Barn
[33:40]
Sessions thing at Don's farm
[33:43]
>> at Johnson.
[33:44]
>> Um, that got on the news.
[33:45]
>> Oh, did it?
[33:47]
>> See, that's the the be that's a great
[33:48]
plug if you can get it on just just when
[33:51]
they're talking about this weekend. And
[33:54]
you know, it's usually the weatherman
[33:55]
that's doing something and he'll say,
[33:57]
"Oh, it's going to be beautiful weather
[33:59]
and this is what's going on." You know,
[34:01]
he'll they advertise they say stuff
[34:03]
about road races and and you know, like
[34:06]
to get on this list.
[34:07]
>> I know. Oh, I don't know how to get the
[34:08]
asparagus festival. All kinds of stuff.
[34:10]
They and they just do a little
[34:13]
>> Yeah.
[34:13]
>> And to me, that is the like that's the
[34:16]
perfect way because that's about as much
[34:17]
as people want to pay attention.
[34:19]
>> Adam from Coastal.
[34:20]
>> It wasn't Adam. It's it's um
[34:22]
>> Lapis.
[34:23]
>> Yeah, Brian Lapis.
[34:25]
>> He's he always has and always mentions
[34:27]
what's going on in Northampton. I'm
[34:28]
guessing he's from that area maybe, but
[34:31]
because he always mentions that
[34:32]
specifically
[34:34]
>> is WWLP22.
[34:36]
Yes. Okay. Um, my best friend just
[34:39]
retired from 22.
[34:41]
>> Oh, wow.
[34:42]
>> So, I can put a call out to Judy
[34:44]
tonight.
[34:45]
>> And ask her to connect me.
[34:47]
>> Yeah. Like, how do you how do you get
[34:49]
that little blurb on there?
[34:50]
>> Yeah, that's all we need.
[34:52]
>> Um, if you're all in agreement to that,
[34:55]
I will do that on behalf of the adcom.
[34:57]
>> Yeah, we appreciate that. And I don't
[34:59]
know, probably maybe that Friday before
[35:02]
or something or like
[35:04]
>> should they say rain or shine?
[35:05]
Absolutely. [laughter]
[35:08]
>> Like closer to the
[35:09]
>> shine lizard.
[35:11]
>> Would they would they have it like say
[35:14]
it on Friday for that weekend or
[35:16]
>> don't know but I'll find out.
[35:18]
>> Okay. Wherever whenever they say it.
[35:20]
>> Yeah. Usually it's a few days before.
[35:22]
It's it's not too many days of ahead of
[35:24]
time when they actually say something.
[35:25]
But it's perfect because it's not people
[35:28]
need remember to do it on the weekend
[35:30]
>> because I know the first year remember B
[35:32]
we were on TV.
[35:34]
>> That's right.
[35:36]
channel 15.
[35:37]
>> On channel 15, we I even brought show
[35:39]
and tell with our cute little boxes.
[35:41]
That's very cool. So,
[35:44]
>> I wonder if I could pull that video up
[35:45]
and just put it on our Facebook page.
[35:48]
>> Work your magic, set [laughter]
[35:50]
>> because it was animated. We had fun.
[35:53]
>> Yeah. It's Ken Ken Stampsky, who's still
[35:57]
the guy, and he called it Ken Ken's Den.
[36:00]
>> Uh yeah.
[36:01]
>> And we just talked about what was gonna
[36:03]
happen. Yeah.
[36:05]
>> that was the first year.
[36:06]
>> First year.
[36:07]
>> Yeah.
[36:08]
So,
[36:09]
>> I think he did we did that back in July
[36:12]
of 23.
[36:16]
So,
[36:16]
>> pretty sure it's on YouTube.
[36:19]
>> Well, I think all this stuff gets
[36:21]
uploaded in YouTube.
[36:22]
>> Well, and as long as it gets made, you
[36:24]
know, on Facebook and makes it to the
[36:26]
whatever we have now, four, five, six
[36:28]
Southwick sites.
[36:29]
>> Yes. you know, if people can bump it
[36:31]
along and make it, you know, that's the
[36:33]
best thing.
[36:34]
>> That's the that's the ticker right
[36:37]
there.
[36:38]
>> Okay. Well, what I'll do tomorrow is
[36:39]
I'll reach out to the um my contacts
[36:43]
that I have in the past done all the
[36:47]
advertising with
[36:49]
and get a cost because I know right now
[36:53]
they do a lot of promos
[36:56]
and
[36:59]
yeah, I'm not going to go for that, but
[37:02]
I'll give you prices on that within the
[37:04]
next 48 hours Well,
[37:08]
>> we're not we're not going to have
[37:08]
another meeting that would approve
[37:10]
funds. Kind of need to do it now.
[37:13]
>> Last year we
[37:15]
>> as I said
[37:16]
>> I can give you an opportunity price.
[37:19]
>> Last year advertising cost was $637.
[37:22]
>> What do we have in our outreach?
[37:27]
>> Drum roll.
[37:28]
>> Oh, they just filled it. They just
[37:29]
filled it um with 2,000.
[37:33]
>> Not our not our supplies one.
[37:35]
the public outreach. It's only one now.
[37:39]
>> It's all one.
[37:41]
>> Okay. I thought there was two still.
[37:42]
>> Yeah. No, I emailed it to everybody.
[37:44]
They they put it all together and then
[37:46]
they um I write it down. I write
[37:48]
>> So, even the gift account? I [laughter]
[37:50]
>> The gift account is just a gift account.
[37:51]
I think that's where all the
[37:52]
contributions are going. But this is our
[37:54]
>> take it from the gift card account that
[37:56]
>> we could. Yeah,
[37:57]
>> I think we should.
[37:58]
>> Yeah. And leave this for something else.
[38:00]
But that's that's what we have right
[38:02]
now. That's the 2027. How much is the
[38:04]
gift account?
[38:05]
>> Oh, okay.
[38:06]
>> Just I don't want to over
[38:08]
>> We have We have a
[38:09]
>> I mean, they've worked their magic
[38:10]
before, but I'd rather not do that.
[38:15]
>> There it is. Okay.
[38:20]
» That's the gift account.
[38:20]
>> Yeah.
[38:21]
>> Okay. You think it may this plus maybe 6
[38:24]
or 700 more is going to go into the gift
[38:26]
account?
[38:26]
>> Yep.
[38:27]
>> So,
[38:27]
>> yeah, that's the contributions.
[38:28]
>> I think I didn't specify for the 150 for
[38:31]
Southwards.
[38:33]
I think I have to make an amendment
[38:34]
saying it should come from the gift
[38:35]
account
[38:36]
>> because I mean I think the money coming
[38:37]
in for farm day should be spent on farm
[38:39]
day.
[38:40]
>> Yep. I agree.
[38:41]
>> Uh I make a motion to amend my previous
[38:45]
motion. Um the $150 for Southwoods will
[38:48]
come from the gift account. Um
[38:53]
>> I second that motion.
[38:54]
>> All right. Zack Barnett I.
[38:55]
>> Jenna Peter I.
[38:57]
>> Deborah Humphrey I.
[38:58]
>> Jess Parker I.
[39:00]
>> Bird Hansen I. Beautiful. All right.
[39:03]
Now, I'm going make another motion
[39:07]
um
[39:09]
to allocate up to $800
[39:14]
um from the gift account for advertising
[39:18]
and various publications
[39:21]
and media outlets.
[39:23]
>> I second that motion.
[39:24]
>> Zach, I Jen Petro I. Deb Humphrey I
[39:28]
>> Parker I
[39:30]
>> B Hansen I
[39:32]
>> unanimous
[39:34]
>> thank you all right so 800
[39:38]
>> 150 for that and it
[39:41]
>> don't don't mind don't don't be worried
[39:43]
if you do because we have the money so
[39:47]
>> see you
[39:49]
[clears throat]
[39:50]
>> yeah I mean we couldn't have done that
[39:52]
without you sure so thank you very much
[39:54]
for reaching out to them
[39:55]
>> yeah and we'll ask obviously asked for
[39:57]
the best price possible because of who
[39:59]
we are.
[40:01]
>> And um were you thinking of wanting to
[40:04]
go a little bit bigger, Bert, opposed to
[40:06]
the size that we've done in the past,
[40:08]
which were the the two by four?
[40:13]
This is the ads that we've done in the
[40:15]
past.
[40:16]
>> Oh, yeah.
[40:16]
>> Yeah. Uh
[40:19]
whatever bang for your buck you can get,
[40:21]
I guess.
[40:22]
>> Yeah. Yeah. If we can within the 800.
[40:24]
Sure.
[40:25]
Okay. I know in the past they've also
[40:27]
some uh times Westfield gave me free
[40:30]
color
[40:31]
>> just definitely pops.
[40:33]
>> Yeah.
[40:34]
>> I like the yellow. Yellow and green.
[40:37]
>> Yep.
[40:39]
>> You have a listing with all the new
[40:42]
>> Are those the same?
[40:43]
>> Oh, no I don't because I didn't know
[40:45]
Malicious was part of
[40:47]
>> Malicious is on there.
[40:48]
>> Yeah, we should update. Salbridge is not
[40:52]
>> and we got Johnson farms farms and we
[40:55]
have the 4 helping with Pioneer Valley.
[40:59]
>> You all just send me a list tomorrow.
[41:02]
>> Yeah,
[41:04]
>> earlier today I I sent around a draft of
[41:07]
the passport and all the participants
[41:10]
are are in there.
[41:12]
>> So you could use that as a list if you
[41:14]
want.
[41:14]
>> You sent it to her.
[41:15]
>> I I didn't get
[41:16]
>> I sent to everybody.
[41:19]
Okay.
[41:19]
>> I emailed everybody.
[41:20]
>> I saw I saw the email.
[41:22]
>> Oh, yeah. It's right here. I see it.
[41:23]
>> Here's the list of where people are
[41:25]
going. But that's a list of farms.
[41:27]
>> You didn't send it to the adcom email.
[41:30]
[laughter]
[41:31]
>> Oh, true.
[41:32]
>> It's okay.
[41:33]
>> And it was like like 5:00 or something.
[41:37]
>> Yeah.
[41:37]
It was like five o'clock or
[41:39]
something.
[41:41]
>> I like the I like the color layout on
[41:42]
that. If they can do that for free,
[41:44]
that'd be great.
[41:45]
>> Okay. So, what I'll do is I'll use this
[41:48]
as a template, add these into it, and
[41:50]
obviously I'll get from Roxan and
[41:54]
whoever else I might work with a proof
[41:59]
>> for you all to proof it before it goes
[42:01]
into print because we're want probably
[42:03]
going to want the first one to hit the
[42:05]
week of the night, ethan.
[42:07]
>> Yeah, that would be great.
[42:08]
>> And then the following weekend as well.
[42:12]
>> That'll be great.
[42:13]
Okay. Any questions or concerns now
[42:17]
before I leave?
[42:17]
>> Invoices for those advertisements. Those
[42:22]
new at doing the finances and the
[42:24]
budgeting and working with the um so any
[42:27]
invoices they usually used to go to
[42:29]
Cindy. Now I think I would take them
[42:32]
right from wherever they're drafting the ads and
[42:37]
wherever they're going to charge. they might need to send it to me or send
[42:42]
it to the finance company at Southwood.
[42:44]
>> Yeah. What I what I have done in the
[42:47]
past with all the invoices
[42:49]
was it was very I've got them right here
[42:53]
from 2025. Not that I keep stuff like
[42:56]
this,
[42:57]
but for instance, the reminder
[42:59]
publication, it was to Southwork
[43:01]
Agricultural Commission 454 College
[43:04]
Highway South, Mass.
[43:05]
>> Okay.
[43:06]
>> So long as she gets a copy of it.
[43:07]
>> Okay. So they're going to send it
[43:09]
directly to you.
[43:10]
>> So they'll put it in the mailbox.
[43:11]
>> Yeah. So it'll show up here and you can
[43:13]
process it through that.
[43:14]
>> That's perfect. Yeah, that'll work.
[43:16]
>> And actually looking at this, this was
[43:19]
the only place we advertised last year
[43:20]
because that's our 637.
[43:22]
>> Wow.
[43:23]
>> Okay.
[43:26]
>> Yeah. If it goes in different places
[43:29]
>> or getting a little bigger.
[43:31]
>> Yeah.
[43:31]
>> And we've already had um
[43:35]
uh Dorian what? Southwoods.
[43:38]
Yeah,
[43:38]
>> I think that's coming out again.
[43:40]
>> Two two we've had two ads uh June and
[43:43]
July and also a story in July,
[43:48]
>> but we're out there already. I'm gonna
[43:51]
work on the Facebook stuff this week.
[43:53]
>> Yeah. And once you figure out where all
[43:55]
the signs are, I think they're down
[43:58]
there.
[43:58]
>> Um we can coordinate a
[44:01]
>> Yeah.
[44:02]
>> launch party and
[44:04]
>> take different quadrants of the town and
[44:07]
You had him at the Case Farm. Can we do
[44:09]
that again?
[44:10]
>> Right on Rising Corner.
[44:11]
>> Yeah,
[44:11]
>> that's a good spot for him.
[44:12]
>> Yeah, he was great to work with. I think
[44:14]
it was Babe.
[44:15]
>> Babe. Yeah,
[44:16]
>> Babe.
[44:17]
>> He doesn't want to join Open Farm Day.
[44:18]
>> No. And then I would I gave him Mrs.
[44:20]
Murphy's Donuts for letting us have that
[44:22]
real estate.
[44:23]
>> Oh, that's
[44:24]
>> awesome.
[44:24]
>> And then I think we did one at the
[44:26]
museum, right?
[44:27]
>> One at the museum, one at like um
[44:29]
McDonald's there.
[44:30]
>> Oh, yeah.
[44:30]
>> And then center of town, I think across
[44:32]
the street.
[44:33]
>> Yeah. On Filio's property. You can put
[44:35]
one there.
[44:36]
>> And then at the old library there,
[44:39]
>> we put one at Malicious.
[44:40]
>> Oh, we had one at Well, on farm day, we
[44:43]
had one at Tractor Supply.
[44:44]
>> Yeah, we also had one up at top of road.
[44:49]
>> Yeah.
[44:49]
>> Dave and Melissa's house. We had one
[44:51]
right there because it was that nice
[44:52]
straightaway. So, get a lot.
[44:55]
>> Yeah, we'll be able to do one there
[44:57]
again.
[45:00]
When I was at Calib, um the sign was
[45:05]
like like after the after Calib so
[45:09]
everybody would go past.
[45:11]
>> Yeah.
[45:12]
>> Um probably went out Malicious.
[45:14]
>> Yeah, I can ask him.
[45:15]
>> I gotta go talk to him anyways. Know
[45:17]
that um
[45:18]
>> he's got his sign that lights up too.
[45:22]
>> That would be that bring in more people
[45:25]
in the town area.
[45:28]
Oh, and the South uh transfer station,
[45:30]
>> right? So, that's
[45:31]
>> true. Easy handles that.
[45:33]
>> Yeah. You want me to do that again? I
[45:35]
can I can do that.
[45:36]
>> Yeah, that' be great.
[45:37]
>> To be positioned just perfectly. The sun
[45:39]
not
[45:40]
>> I mean, right now it's probably yelling
[45:41]
at everyone to get their new sticker,
[45:43]
but um [laughter]
[45:45]
taxes are due, I'm sure.
[45:47]
>> Our taxes are due very soon.
[45:50]
>> Um same.
[45:52]
>> Anything else for me before I
[45:54]
>> No, I think we're good.
[45:56]
Unless you got more for us.
[46:00]
Thank you very much so much.
[46:02]
>> Thank you for your time.
[46:03]
>> Met you Christian. [laughter]
[46:05]
>> Hi Christian.
[46:06]
>> He's helped out at the community garden
[46:08]
quite a bit. He's got a plot up there.
[46:09]
>> Yeah.
[46:10]
>> And a few plots now.
[46:12]
>> Excellent. So
[46:14]
>> yeah, he's he's joining. We're just
[46:15]
waiting on the select board to make
[46:16]
their appointments.
[46:17]
>> Okay.
[46:18]
>> Which might be this month, might be next
[46:20]
month. I don't know.
[46:20]
>> Then there's the whole hazing thing that
[46:22]
I haven't told you about.
[46:28]
at the
[46:33]
» app.
[46:35]
You could just let me know when you're
[46:37]
ready to have me pick them up and I'll
[46:39]
>> Oh, absolutely.
[46:40]
>> Thank you.
[46:42]
>> So, trans
[46:44]
>> not even the first line of the agenda.
[46:46]
>> Nope.
[46:49]
» [laughter]
[46:51]
» I think the rest of them we kind of
[46:53]
talked about
[46:53]
>> any more public comment. [laughter]
[46:56]
>> Thank you, Ena.
[46:59]
>> Okay, so we had um All right, we'll get
[47:00]
to that.
[47:02]
>> Okay, super stoked. It will not be the
[47:04]
same.
[47:05]
>> No.
[47:05]
>> Yeah. No,
[47:06]
>> she does so much for this event.
[47:09]
>> So,
[47:10]
>> we need to clone her.
[47:11]
>> Okay. So, um, coordinating the
[47:14]
orientation. We got the room, we got the
[47:17]
space,
[47:18]
>> we just need to make sure everybody
[47:20]
knows about it.
[47:21]
>> Yeah, we need to send emails.
[47:23]
>> Y,
[47:23]
>> I want to send calendar invites to
[47:25]
everyone.
[47:25]
>> Okay, perfect. Be smart. You're doing it
[47:28]
during the week and
[47:30]
>> Yeah. Uh, on um Yeah, instead of a
[47:32]
Saturday. I was thinking that's a little
[47:34]
bit better because it's the weekend.
[47:37]
Everybody wants the weekend to
[47:39]
>> So, it's on a Thursday. Um, it's at 7.
[47:42]
We're going to have refreshments.
[47:44]
>> Is it next week?
[47:45]
>> I don't know if anyone can ask Lenita to
[47:47]
see if she has
[47:48]
>> It's almost 6, right?
[47:49]
>> Oh, six. Did I say six?
[47:50]
>> It's six of the night or 13th.
[47:52]
>> It's the sixth on here.
[47:53]
>> Oh, yeah. August. Did I say
[47:57]
10th was that?
[47:59]
>> We No, we haven't reserved, so we're
[48:01]
good.
[48:01]
>> Yeah, the room is reserved.
[48:02]
>> We didn't have any scheduling conflicts.
[48:04]
Like, at least not yet. Sometimes the
[48:06]
night of they're like, "Can you move?"
[48:07]
But
[48:07]
>> yeah. Yep. [laughter]
[48:09]
it.
[48:09]
>> Um, yeah, we need some
[48:10]
>> this is
[48:11]
>> that's hope. Yes, that's what it's
[48:13]
reserved. Sometimes we get booted from
[48:15]
here, but
[48:17]
>> I was just going to have like um maybe
[48:19]
the breads that she had or something.
[48:21]
Maybe.
[48:21]
>> Yeah. Or I can probably get big to make
[48:23]
a donation. Um,
[48:26]
>> we have waters. [laughter]
[48:27]
>> Do we I was wondering about that. How
[48:28]
many have left?
[48:29]
>> I can bring Well, no, we we have a ton,
[48:31]
but we can I can bring another whole
[48:33]
pack, too.
[48:33]
>> Well, I can get you gift card for
[48:35]
[clears throat] that.
[48:36]
>> Okay. And then um what else should we
[48:38]
have for refreshments?
[48:41]
>> Is that seven?
[48:42]
>> Uh yeah.
[48:44]
>> Yeah. Seven.
[48:46]
>> Yeah.
[48:48]
>> I mean um
[48:50]
>> maybe cookies or something.
[48:51]
>> Yeah. Just like cookies. Nothing huge.
[48:54]
People don't really
[48:55]
>> like
[48:55]
>> I think a lot of people have a problem
[48:56]
eating in front of other people.
[48:57]
>> Yeah. Yeah. And we found that during the
[48:59]
fire
[49:00]
>> just like
[49:01]
>> usually by the end people,
[49:03]
>> you know, people feel they're a little
[49:04]
nervous that
[49:05]
>> Yeah. I don't want to make noise,
[49:07]
>> right?
[49:07]
>> I work.
[49:08]
>> So, maybe finger foods like the breads
[49:10]
or the cookies or something.
[49:11]
>> Yeah. Something quiet to quietly chewed,
[49:13]
I guess. [laughter]
[49:16]
>> Like, no thanks.
[49:17]
>> No carrots.
[49:20]
>> This is true. Yeah.
[49:21]
>> At 7 o'clock, probably. Just a few
[49:24]
things,
[49:24]
>> right? I wouldn't need to have very
[49:25]
much.
[49:27]
>> And I think uh
[49:29]
>> did we have coffee last year? Coffee is
[49:31]
very complicated.
[49:33]
>> Coffee it never gets drinken either.
[49:35]
And it's at night, too. I don't know if
[49:38]
>> Yeah,
[49:39]
>> we can get some um
[49:42]
>> maybe some like
[49:43]
>> and juice. Maybe
[49:44]
>> some night some sleepy time tea.
[49:46]
[laughter]
[49:48]
>> Some Most people drink water. Any place
[49:50]
I've been, it's amazing how many people
[49:52]
drink
[49:52]
>> these days they do.
[49:53]
>> Yeah,
[49:54]
>> I know. Years ago it wasn't, but it is
[49:55]
now.
[49:56]
>> Something with flavor like iced tea or
[49:57]
something.
[49:58]
>> Yeah. Like, you know, some beer.
[50:01]
[laughter]
[50:02]
>> Let's just have it at the brewery, you
[50:04]
know.
[50:05]
Yeah.
[50:05]
>> Funny to me. If you had cookies in
[50:07]
water, people are
[50:08]
>> honestly. Yeah. And they're fine. It's
[50:10]
just the water to wash down the cookies
[50:11]
if you eat too many.
[50:13]
>> Oh. Yeah. Exactly. Okay. That sounds
[50:15]
good. And so,
[50:16]
>> uh, we want to ask Lenita. Did we say?
[50:20]
>> Yeah,
[50:20]
>> we can ask her or and I can get a big Y
[50:23]
donation.
[50:24]
>> Okay.
[50:25]
>> Um, I don't think we need to spend.
[50:28]
>> Yeah, I'll ask Lenita if you if you
[50:30]
want.
[50:31]
>> Yeah, absolutely.
[50:32]
>> Great. Yeah.
[50:34]
Thank you.
[50:35]
>> It doesn't need to be much,
[50:37]
>> right?
[50:38]
>> We end up bringing stuff home or
[50:40]
throwing it out. So,
[50:41]
>> yeah.
[50:43]
>> Just a little something to offer.
[50:45]
>> Yeah. I wonder if Dan's going to make
[50:47]
soup again this year.
[50:49]
>> Oh, [laughter]
[50:50]
>> yeah. I don't think we need him for
[50:51]
this. For the farmers forum. Sure. Yeah.
[50:53]
I mean, when it's nice and cold out and
[50:55]
we have a huge room full of people.
[50:57]
Sure. Um I don't know where Dan is. He
[51:00]
didn't show up tonight. Well, I think
[51:01]
too, I mean, if you estimate
[51:03]
approximately how many volunteers are
[51:05]
even coming,
[51:07]
>> yeah, we need to ask them to like RSVP,
[51:09]
I think. You know, we need to get
[51:11]
interaction.
[51:11]
>> Need them to have more than two cookies
[51:13]
a piece or something. You're not eating
[51:15]
them per
[51:16]
>> No.
[51:17]
>> Yeah.
[51:17]
>> Well, you got 11 farms. If you had three
[51:19]
people for each farm, that would be
[51:23]
>> Yeah.
[51:23]
Maybe three dozen cookies. And
[51:25]
>> cookies are if there's like a healthier
[51:27]
version of a cookie. Well, there are,
[51:30]
but cookies aren't the worst thing in
[51:32]
their life.
[51:32]
>> No, they're not. Some people don't like
[51:34]
to eat after like 7 o'clock, 8 o'clock.
[51:37]
>> Well, I know Martha responded already to
[51:39]
me. She's going to be there. Um,
[51:41]
>> my friend Ashley said she'll come.
[51:43]
>> Okay. Greg not is not able to be, but
[51:46]
he's definitely dedicated to
[51:48]
>> Okay. Greg Dilly.
[51:50]
>> Yep. Okay. Yep.
[51:53]
>> And him and Martha know each other, so
[51:56]
Yep. They are part of the um hikers.
[51:59]
>> Oh, okay.
[52:00]
>> Um Hilltop hikers, I think.
[52:03]
>> But yeah, so I think that's about it. I
[52:05]
mean, I will I will reddraft all of the
[52:08]
information, put it on a you us um what
[52:13]
a little drive thing and then
[52:14]
>> Yeah, we'll just play it here. Y
[52:15]
>> Okay.
[52:16]
>> Now, do we have to put that as a live
[52:19]
thing or No. Right.
[52:20]
>> We're not No, that's not even
[52:22]
>> have to do that, right?
[52:23]
>> It's not even an official. This is our
[52:24]
little thing.
[52:25]
>> Well, if we have a quorum, I don't know
[52:27]
how that works
[52:29]
>> cuz we
[52:30]
>> Well, well, if we're not, you know,
[52:32]
quote unquote doing business,
[52:34]
>> right? If we're just there as volunteer
[52:36]
as volunteers,
[52:38]
>> we're not voting on anything.
[52:39]
>> It's an event, you know.
[52:42]
>> Yeah. I mean, it's been Yeah, the event
[52:44]
was created during a regular
[52:48]
meeting, so I think that kind of makes
[52:49]
it official.
[52:50]
>> I can send them the agenda because we
[52:52]
will have one
[52:54]
if you want to. We've never had to
[52:56]
[clears throat] do that before.
[52:56]
>> Yeah, I don't think we've ever done that
[52:57]
before.
[52:58]
>> Yeah, they always been at the fire
[53:01]
station.
[53:02]
>> Yeah, and it's in person only. We're not
[53:03]
going to do Zoom. We could, but
[53:05]
>> will we even have a forum? Honestly,
[53:08]
>> I don't know.
[53:09]
>> We probably haven't. I haven't made it
[53:10]
to an orientation yet. I mean, I I can,
[53:14]
but I'm just saying if you need me to
[53:16]
not come also, I can do.
[53:18]
>> We would love to have you. [laughter]
[53:21]
I'm saying if that's what's going to
[53:23]
take
[53:23]
>> we have anyone for the afternoon at um
[53:25]
Arnold's farm.
[53:27]
>> Yeah, I wonder what's that.
[53:28]
>> Um so that we were going to get to the
[53:30]
people.
[53:31]
>> Um yeah, so we have Deb taking over
[53:35]
now that day. So that's the problem.
[53:40]
>> What about Josh?
[53:41]
>> And yeah, he's probably be working. He
[53:42]
probably won't even make it to the
[53:43]
birthday party.
[53:44]
>> He goes up for like a half an hour.
[53:45]
>> Um yeah, it all depends where he is. But
[53:48]
>> do we still need a few more volunteers?
[53:50]
>> Yes.
[53:51]
>> Yeah, definitely. Yeah,
[53:52]
>> like the morning I can it's fine. I can
[53:54]
handle the morning. Um
[53:56]
>> I mean,
[53:57]
>> and then
[53:58]
>> Karen's fine by her.
[53:59]
>> That's what I was going to say. I mean,
[54:00]
I can talk to Karen and like I think
[54:02]
she'd be fine if you know she's alone in
[54:04]
the afternoon.
[54:04]
>> She says whole family's always hanging.
[54:07]
>> Yeah, I think I I don't want to like
[54:08]
spring it on her. I want to at least be
[54:10]
like, "Hey, if if this ends up
[54:11]
happening,
[54:12]
>> I mean, I would love
[54:13]
>> Can you hold down the fort?" Perhaps
[54:14]
>> tell her to join egg. I mentioned
[54:16]
>> I have um Albert I have Albert there for
[54:19]
the morning. I don't know if he's there
[54:20]
for all day. Um so
[54:23]
>> well I think worst case scenario I
[54:25]
that's why I think we should talk to
[54:26]
Karen and ask you know like worst case
[54:29]
scenario can you hold down the floor for
[54:31]
us from the one to
[54:33]
>> three really block.
[54:35]
>> But then
[54:36]
>> but Dwight definitely needs if Deb's
[54:38]
going to be there in the afternoon
[54:39]
that's fine but he'll definitely need
[54:41]
someone that
[54:42]
>> are you only there in the afternoon? I
[54:44]
don't know where I am yet.
[54:46]
>> Is she anywhere in the morning?
[54:47]
>> No. No. Because we have
[54:49]
>> a full day or no.
[54:52]
>> So, if she's in the morning, if you want
[54:54]
to do Blossoming Acres and then head
[54:56]
over to because we still we only have
[54:58]
two people at Blossoming.
[55:00]
>> We need We need two people in the
[55:02]
afternoon.
[55:03]
>> B's trying to say something. So,
[55:05]
>> sorry.
[55:06]
>> Um just you were asking about Al Rancho.
[55:09]
He only wants to do one shift.
[55:11]
>> Yeah. Morning or afternoon? Yeah.
[55:13]
Morning.
[55:14]
>> Morning. Yep. Okay. Yep. So, we have him
[55:16]
at the sun uh sunflower field.
[55:20]
>> He'd probably be better suited on
[55:23]
>> Do you want him somewhere else like
[55:24]
that?
[55:24]
>> Oh, on Dwight's side.
[55:27]
>> Okay.
[55:29]
>> So, with Jessica?
[55:30]
>> With Jessica? Yeah.
[55:32]
>> Okay.
[55:32]
>> We've got no one at Sunflower.
[55:34]
>> Um Yeah, but you could walk over there.
[55:36]
>> Just float between the two.
[55:38]
>> Yeah. I mean, she she just pretty much
[55:40]
gives people reaction.
[55:43]
>> She wasn't there in the morning. Like,
[55:44]
she didn't come till like
[55:46]
>> Okay.
[55:47]
>> She came and like stocked the flowers
[55:48]
and then she went for a little bit and
[55:50]
then she came back right.
[55:52]
>> Ideally, I'd like a minimum of two
[55:53]
people in every shift.
[55:54]
>> Yeah. Right.
[55:57]
>> Right now, everybody's in the morning.
[55:59]
Um, a lot of people said morning shift.
[56:01]
Um, so, um, if you you guys are you able
[56:05]
to do the coward farms or
[56:07]
>> um, I can. Diana, unfortunately.
[56:11]
>> Oh, she won't be able. Okay. I'm sorry.
[56:13]
I put your wife's I didn't know her
[56:15]
name. What is her name?
[56:16]
>> It's okay. Diana.
[56:17]
>> Diana. Okay. I'm put that in there.
[56:19]
Sorry about
[56:20]
>> Can we just like go through line by line
[56:21]
real quick and just talk about like what
[56:23]
>> she's not Yeah, she's not. She's so
[56:26]
>> next.
[56:27]
>> Yep. [laughter]
[56:30]
Well, I'm writing it down so I know her
[56:32]
name.
[56:32]
>> Doesn't really handle it. It, you know,
[56:35]
it was not hard of cowards. You're on
[56:37]
the porch, you know, and people came in.
[56:40]
They were there.
[56:42]
A lot of them were there right away
[56:43]
because they wanted the train ride with
[56:45]
the kids.
[56:46]
>> So, they started there, but um I didn't
[56:49]
in any way by myself feel overloaded
[56:52]
there. It wasn't.
[56:53]
>> So, you could do a full day there need
[56:55]
be. Uh
[56:57]
>> okay. But I mean, I brought a chair, a
[57:00]
nice comfy chair in the table, and
[57:01]
you're sitting on the on their porch,
[57:03]
which is
[57:04]
>> that place is really cool.
[57:05]
>> Lovely. And
[57:07]
>> yeah, it was not
[57:07]
>> I think they're doing the train ride,
[57:09]
too.
[57:09]
>> Yeah. Okay.
[57:10]
>> Yeah,
[57:11]
>> because they have a lot of workers that they have their own people that
[57:15]
take care of so much. You just are
[57:16]
basically a greeter.
[57:18]
>> You greet them, you know, have give out
[57:20]
the stickers, whatever. But everybody
[57:23]
else, I just show pointed them to where
[57:25]
the the train ride was and they were
[57:29]
fine. They usually had at least four or
[57:32]
five of their t-shirt people there.
[57:35]
>> I suggest bringing a lunch with you.
[57:37]
>> Yeah,
[57:37]
>> I usually do.
[57:38]
>> And uh another quick note on cowards. Um
[57:42]
I'd like to put the three 4 programs
[57:45]
also on their porch.
[57:47]
>> You know, be undercover. There's plenty
[57:50]
of room there. It's about 8 ft by 24
[57:52]
feet. So even if they wanted three
[57:54]
separate tables, you know, they could.
[57:57]
>> So the 4 people are going to be there.
[58:00]
>> Uh not confirmed yet. I uh I texted
[58:02]
Teresa Coward to ask about it and I
[58:05]
emailed uh Mike Patrusa to to see what
[58:10]
he thought and he I think he'll be fine
[58:12]
with it because it's undercover.
[58:14]
>> Okay.
[58:15]
>> So anyway, I'll let you know ASAP.
[58:19]
So, um, that's different than the HCIL
[58:22]
booth, right? Or is that together?
[58:24]
>> That's together.
[58:26]
>> Okay. So, the 4 and the HCI booth will
[58:29]
be together, but not with Mike and Sue,
[58:32]
>> right? They're going to be away, but
[58:34]
Mike has uh said he would get
[58:36]
volunteers.
[58:38]
>> Okay. And
[58:38]
>> any confirmation ASAP?
[58:40]
>> You want Powers Farms?
[58:44]
>> I thought originally they were going to
[58:46]
Solex.
[58:54]
Hang on a sec.
[58:58]
» I'm not sure why, but I always thought
[59:00]
they were at the museum. I
[59:01]
>> think originally last year they were
[59:04]
supposed to be hil
[59:07]
>> museum. Okay.
[59:08]
>> But I don't think anyone showed up.
[59:10]
>> Right. Okay.
[59:16]
I did run into Pat Odor the other day.
[59:18]
She said she was because I said, "Oh,
[59:20]
you're going to be at the museum on your
[59:21]
farm day." Oh, yes.
[59:23]
>> Okay.
[59:23]
>> So, we still need somebody for
[59:25]
>> We don't necessarily need a volunteer
[59:27]
there, do we?
[59:28]
>> I don't think I mean she's there for the
[59:29]
historical society.
[59:31]
>> Cuz she said, "Oh, yes. I always do
[59:33]
that." I'm like, "Okay."
[59:34]
>> We should have some [clears throat] She
[59:36]
came up to me. We
[59:36]
>> One person should be there, I think.
[59:39]
Right. With a table and everything.
[59:41]
>> Yeah.
[59:43]
I don't know who they are.
[59:45]
[clears throat]
[59:46]
>> Remember I I just heard from Deb Harath
[59:48]
who said she has a quote few friends who
[59:51]
want to volunteer. So hopefully that
[59:53]
>> Oh, they need to.
[59:54]
>> That's great.
[1:00:00]
» Um I mean if if they don't do the
[1:00:02]
website, we can do it manually for them
[1:00:06]
if you can just get their information.
[1:00:10]
Yeah, I sent her the I sent her the
[1:00:12]
link, you know, to the page where the form is.
[1:00:15]
>> So,
[1:00:16]
>> she's going to send it around.
[1:00:18]
>> Okay. I haven't seen anything come in
[1:00:20]
yet.
[1:00:20]
>> That's great.
[1:00:22]
>> And Sage has actually been really good
[1:00:23]
about like emailing me instantly when
[1:00:26]
someone submits a form because it still
[1:00:27]
goes all to his email.
[1:00:30]
Um, we do need we need to take care of
[1:00:33]
our website sooner than later, but not
[1:00:35]
tonight.
[1:00:36]
>> Yeah. [laughter]
[1:00:37]
Can I just have a recommendation? If we
[1:00:40]
go through this line by line and just
[1:00:42]
point out exactly what we need, then we
[1:00:45]
could post it. I think people are afraid
[1:00:47]
to just like sign up. You know what I'm
[1:00:49]
saying? If we say we need two people at
[1:00:51]
Blossoming Acres from 12:34, we need or
[1:00:54]
you know, from these we might get a
[1:00:56]
little bit more
[1:00:58]
>> people. Yeah, we might. you know, rather
[1:01:00]
than people just being like, I don't
[1:01:01]
know what I'm blindly
[1:01:03]
>> next couple days after hopefully a
[1:01:05]
couple more people sign up. If you do
[1:01:07]
that, I can put it in Facebook
[1:01:08]
>> Facebook and we could
[1:01:09]
>> Yeah, that would be great.
[1:01:10]
>> We can like outreach on our own.
[1:01:12]
>> So, right now we have we have three
[1:01:14]
separate Facebook
[1:01:16]
>> and I was trying to copy and you saw how
[1:01:19]
I was like posting the event and
[1:01:20]
reposting it and
[1:01:22]
>> no, the main our main one now I've added
[1:01:25]
like hundreds if not thousands of
[1:01:27]
friends to it.
[1:01:27]
>> I did too. I went for my entire I
[1:01:29]
blasted my entire friends list.
[1:01:30]
>> I mean, we're getting people from like
[1:01:32]
everyone,
[1:01:32]
>> not even the state. Yep. Same.
[1:01:34]
>> There's been a few scammer accounts that
[1:01:36]
have joined that I've had to block, but
[1:01:39]
um for the most part, it seems like it's
[1:01:40]
mostly people from the general area.
[1:01:44]
>> Um and then some lady from Michigan
[1:01:46]
who's trying to give away her Powerball
[1:01:48]
winnings. [laughter]
[1:01:53]
» Okay, so let's go.
[1:01:54]
>> It's hard to manage. It's very hard to
[1:01:57]
manage the events because those pages
[1:01:58]
are not
[1:01:59]
>> Yeah.
[1:01:59]
>> set up right.
[1:02:00]
>> Quick quick thing on Facebook. So, Zach,
[1:02:02]
if you're if we're if somebody were to
[1:02:04]
search for
[1:02:06]
what I'll call our good Facebook page,
[1:02:08]
what what would they look for?
[1:02:11]
>> So, the thing is one of them's like a
[1:02:13]
regular personal account like yours or
[1:02:16]
mine. And then there's also like the
[1:02:18]
like page. Um, one of them has a picture
[1:02:22]
of a tractor in a barn and one of them
[1:02:23]
has a sunflower. Either one of those is
[1:02:25]
fine.
[1:02:26]
>> Oh, okay.
[1:02:27]
>> I think we're going to share between the
[1:02:28]
two to c capture as many people as
[1:02:31]
possible.
[1:02:33]
>> Um, with the like page, people actually
[1:02:35]
have to like click like, but as like the
[1:02:38]
regular page, I've reached out to, you
[1:02:39]
know, I've added hundreds of people as
[1:02:42]
friends. So, it it the notification
[1:02:44]
comes to them instead of them having to
[1:02:46]
come to us.
[1:02:47]
>> Yeah. Okay. Then then if we create an
[1:02:50]
event or we create a post, we just just
[1:02:52]
have to make it public and then we can
[1:02:53]
share it to everything. We can share it
[1:02:55]
to our other pages. We can share it to
[1:02:56]
like the Southwick forums, all that
[1:02:58]
stuff.
[1:02:59]
>> Yeah.
[1:03:01]
Okay, good.
[1:03:04]
>> But yeah, we're definitely we can be
[1:03:06]
seen by a lot of people at this point on
[1:03:08]
through Facebook.
[1:03:11]
» Yeah, I've been getting more I've been
[1:03:14]
getting like it pops right up now.
[1:03:16]
>> Yeah. And every time like one of the
[1:03:18]
local farms like like um Blossoming
[1:03:20]
Acres or um
[1:03:22]
>> Firefly gets
[1:03:24]
>> Firefly and um even Calibri, I'm I'm
[1:03:27]
reposting all their stuff so people are
[1:03:29]
seeing that. We're getting a little bit
[1:03:31]
of interaction at this point.
[1:03:32]
>> That's awesome.
[1:03:35]
>> So, do you want to go through the list
[1:03:37]
right now really quick and um that way I
[1:03:40]
can get it right um and then we can see
[1:03:43]
where our needs are. Yeah. I mean,
[1:03:46]
clearly we need more afternoon people.
[1:03:47]
>> I think I gave you a copy.
[1:03:48]
>> Yeah.
[1:03:49]
>> Okay. So, um Martha and Greg um are
[1:03:53]
going to be at Blossom Acres
[1:03:55]
>> just in the morning.
[1:03:56]
>> Um well, I believe they're all day. Um I
[1:03:58]
got to confirm. They're they're
[1:04:00]
committed for the day. Okay.
[1:04:02]
>> So, I figured I'd keep them together
[1:04:04]
since they know each other.
[1:04:05]
>> They can be there all day. That's
[1:04:06]
beautiful. If we get like a third person
[1:04:07]
just to kind
[1:04:08]
>> That would be nice. They're doing a hay
[1:04:09]
ride there, too. Um, yeah, cuz she says
[1:04:12]
she was the one that had probably the
[1:04:14]
most concerns from last year,
[1:04:16]
>> of course. Yeah.
[1:04:18]
>> And if we go through this and you see, I
[1:04:19]
mean, we have other people that we could
[1:04:21]
probably move around. So, so Christian,
[1:04:23]
you're okay with doing cowards farms?
[1:04:25]
>> We might be able to get you a couple for
[1:04:26]
age people hopefully.
[1:04:27]
>> Yep. Yeah. Okay, cool. Thank you.
[1:04:29]
>> Um, Dwight,
[1:04:31]
>> so um Albert will be with Jessica,
[1:04:34]
right? So, I'm moving him
[1:04:35]
>> and Deb,
[1:04:37]
>> he all day if possible. So we have three
[1:04:40]
people for that area because these are
[1:04:42]
tied together.
[1:04:43]
>> Okay. Yeah. So you want to do that be
[1:04:46]
between Dwight and
[1:04:47]
>> Yeah. I mean you can float I mean sure
[1:04:49]
you'd like to you're going to love to
[1:04:51]
hear what Dwight has to say but you're
[1:04:52]
also going to want to float over to
[1:04:53]
Karen
[1:04:54]
>> and I'll talk to Karen and just say like
[1:04:56]
hey we might be short in the afternoon.
[1:04:58]
That way when I leave in the afternoon
[1:05:00]
>> usually by the afternoon
[1:05:01]
>> to go over to Dwight's and she could
[1:05:03]
probably cover
[1:05:03]
>> usually by the afternoon though things
[1:05:05]
kind of calm down and it's just kind of
[1:05:06]
like repetition at that point. Yeah,
[1:05:08]
because Al Albert is only for the
[1:05:10]
morning.
[1:05:11]
>> Yeah, if we can get one more person for
[1:05:12]
there um for the afternoon when Jessica
[1:05:15]
has to leave, that'd be great.
[1:05:16]
>> Okay, so Fireflies is also a um Hi.
[1:05:21]
>> Yeah, we need
[1:05:24]
>> Lonnie and she all day or is she just
[1:05:25]
morning?
[1:05:26]
>> Lonnie is just morning. Okay. Um Ashley
[1:05:28]
is all day.
[1:05:29]
>> Yeah, I'm hoping Ashley can she's got a
[1:05:31]
lot of friends and family. I'm hoping
[1:05:32]
she can wrangle one or two.
[1:05:34]
>> So, we'll leave it like that for now.
[1:05:36]
>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, if you We have
[1:05:38]
people to place. Let's
[1:05:39]
>> We do have more. Uh, well, we have one
[1:05:41]
more down at the bottom. Um, so you and
[1:05:43]
Ashley, how do you spell Duplo?
[1:05:46]
>> Uh, deploy. Yeah.
[1:05:47]
>> Is she all day?
[1:05:48]
>> She'll be with me all day. It's D E B L
[1:05:50]
O I S.
[1:05:51]
>> Okay. So, all day and then D O B.
[1:05:55]
>> Oh, what is it?
[1:05:55]
>> D E O E.
[1:06:00]
>> I don't know why I did that. Okay.
[1:06:01]
>> Deal.
[1:06:02]
>> Sorry.
[1:06:04]
Okay. Um, all right. So, that's covered.
[1:06:07]
Klein View has um So, Eningga has um
[1:06:11]
coverage in the morning and then Janice,
[1:06:13]
you're going to be there in the
[1:06:14]
afternoon time,
[1:06:15]
>> but you could do all day if need be.
[1:06:18]
>> No.
[1:06:19]
Okay. This afternoon.
[1:06:20]
>> That's okay. Um, so Carol's going to be
[1:06:23]
there in the morning.
[1:06:24]
>> And you've been there before?
[1:06:25]
>> Yes, I have.
[1:06:25]
>> You think one person in morning and
[1:06:27]
afternoon is enough? Um well it's it
[1:06:31]
will get people whether it's raining or
[1:06:33]
not because they got set indoor rink.
[1:06:36]
>> When I was there last time there were
[1:06:37]
three people that was really too much.
[1:06:39]
>> Okay.
[1:06:39]
>> I think one person could handle it.
[1:06:40]
>> And they have like some 4 people to help
[1:06:42]
there too. Correct.
[1:06:43]
>> Yeah.
[1:06:43]
>> I think that's
[1:06:46]
moms.
[1:06:47]
>> Moms to help the parking.
[1:06:50]
>> Just I would pen in there like 4 moms.
[1:06:52]
>> In fact the one directing the tracking.
[1:06:55]
>> Yeah. She won't start.
[1:06:57]
>> She's not going to be there.
[1:06:59]
>> Yeah. And we uh Okay, Janice. Janice,
[1:07:01]
you're all all also on Blossoming Acres
[1:07:04]
in the afternoon.
[1:07:06]
>> Oh, top of the page.
[1:07:08]
>> No, not me.
[1:07:09]
>> Oh, no.
[1:07:11]
>> I changed it.
[1:07:12]
>> Oh, you don't have the new list.
[1:07:13]
>> Sorry, Bert.
[1:07:14]
>> Bert. Sorry.
[1:07:15]
>> I didn't send you the new list. I
[1:07:16]
apologize.
[1:07:19]
>> No worries. So, um, yeah, I took her off
[1:07:22]
the Blossoming Acres and put her on
[1:07:24]
because I made that mistake.
[1:07:27]
>> We've never really needed a floater
[1:07:28]
before.
[1:07:29]
>> Yeah,
[1:07:30]
>> I pictures. We don't get enough pictures
[1:07:32]
because we're all busy at the table.
[1:07:34]
>> My wife takes a lot of pictures.
[1:07:35]
>> Okay.
[1:07:36]
>> She tries to make it to most of the
[1:07:37]
farms.
[1:07:38]
>> Okay.
[1:07:38]
>> Whenever
[1:07:41]
us
[1:07:44]
years I was I was the floater and nobody
[1:07:46]
asked me for anything. No, I think once
[1:07:48]
we get going, we're pretty good.
[1:07:50]
>> Yeah.
[1:07:50]
>> If there's gonna be any emergencies,
[1:07:52]
it's going to be in the morning.
[1:07:53]
>> True.
[1:07:54]
>> Like any logistical emergencies. I mean,
[1:07:57]
emergencies can happen at any time, but
[1:07:59]
um
[1:08:00]
>> So, I'm at Malicious. I don't think I
[1:08:02]
need anything.
[1:08:02]
>> I think me and you, we have to go
[1:08:05]
somewhere we could figure it out between
[1:08:06]
us.
[1:08:07]
>> And so, Dan's at Solex.
[1:08:09]
>> Yeah, he'll be there all day. I think
[1:08:10]
that's all he needs there. But there was
[1:08:12]
talk about having 4 people at Solex.
[1:08:14]
>> Oh, okay. But yeah,
[1:08:16]
>> I don't know.
[1:08:17]
that they need to be at
[1:08:18]
Solex.
[1:08:20]
>> That's that's what Mike Patrusa
[1:08:21]
originally said that he had somebody at
[1:08:24]
Solex as a volunteer. I don't know who
[1:08:26]
that is,
[1:08:27]
>> but I think I think Cowards would be
[1:08:29]
much much better for them.
[1:08:32]
>> Yeah.
[1:08:34]
[clears throat]
[1:08:34]
>> Um and Jen Jen, just back a bit. Didn't
[1:08:37]
uh didn't micious say they only need one
[1:08:39]
volunteer.
[1:08:40]
>> Yeah. Yep.
[1:08:41]
>> Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
[1:08:42]
>> Yeah. I'll be there all day.
[1:08:45]
Um,
[1:08:48]
they got uh what is that? Corn corn
[1:08:52]
flavored ice cream.
[1:08:53]
>> Something like that. Yeah. Sweet corn
[1:08:54]
ice cream or something?
[1:08:56]
>> Sweet corn ice cream.
[1:08:57]
>> Oh, [laughter] from the big from the big
[1:09:01]
>> I'll be eating ice cream all day.
[1:09:02]
[laughter]
[1:09:03]
>> And your car will run on it, too.
[1:09:04]
>> No. Does anybody have any contacts for
[1:09:06]
Bside Farms?
[1:09:08]
>> Uh, just Tom. I can get a hold of Tom.
[1:09:09]
>> Yeah, just ask him if
[1:09:10]
>> he's all set.
[1:09:11]
So, him and his family is
[1:09:13]
good. Okay.
[1:09:14]
>> So by himself,
[1:09:15]
>> I think so.
[1:09:17]
>> And then
[1:09:17]
>> that's all it's ever been is Dan. He
[1:09:19]
knows he knows all the so
[1:09:22]
he handles it.
[1:09:23]
>> The history museum. I have two people
[1:09:25]
and we don't need two people there. So
[1:09:27]
that's where our actual person is.
[1:09:29]
>> Um
[1:09:30]
>> can they both
[1:09:31]
>> are they both morning people?
[1:09:32]
>> Um I believe so. Yes.
[1:09:34]
>> So let's move one of them around.
[1:09:36]
>> Okay. So
[1:09:37]
>> or see if one of them could do afternoon
[1:09:39]
instead.
[1:09:40]
>> We could. But for now, um, let's see. A
[1:09:44]
warning.
[1:09:45]
>> Um, you needed somebody extra.
[1:09:47]
Fireflies, right?
[1:09:48]
>> Yeah.
[1:09:50]
Um, Lee Hazelton is a friend of mine. I
[1:09:52]
could ask her if she would move to
[1:09:54]
afternoon.
[1:09:56]
>> Oh, that would be great.
[1:09:57]
>> Yeah. Yeah, that'd be great if you could
[1:09:58]
ask.
[1:10:00]
>> Afternoon at Boston.
[1:10:02]
>> No. Or history.
[1:10:03]
>> Oh, at history.
[1:10:05]
>> Yeah. One of the uh We need someone in
[1:10:07]
afternoon.
[1:10:08]
>> Well, I have Nancy at the history
[1:10:10]
museum.
[1:10:11]
Or can she do all day?
[1:10:13]
>> Um, no. Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
[1:10:15]
>> So, let's move Lee to afternoon if
[1:10:17]
possible.
[1:10:19]
>> Okay. Yeah, if she's available
[1:10:22]
afternoon. Um,
[1:10:28]
yeah. And B, you and Juliet are okay at
[1:10:31]
grandma?
[1:10:32]
>> Yeah, that's fine. Yeah. All day.
[1:10:34]
>> Okay.
[1:10:35]
>> Yeah. Yep. That's okay.
[1:10:36]
>> Perfect. Okay.
[1:10:38]
>> Your hips gonna be able to make it?
[1:10:40]
Yeah. Geez. We know. So,
[1:10:44]
>> okay. So, that's that's what we have.
[1:10:46]
So, we need um
[1:10:48]
another person at Blossom Blossoming.
[1:10:51]
Another person at Fireflies
[1:10:54]
>> and
[1:10:57]
an afternoon at Firefly. Afternoon at
[1:10:59]
Blossoming for We need like two at
[1:11:01]
Boston. After
[1:11:03]
>> we need two in the morning, two in the
[1:11:04]
afternoon minimum. So, it's really we
[1:11:06]
need to make her happy this year. Yep.
[1:11:09]
So, whoever comes in next, we'll just
[1:11:11]
place there.
[1:11:12]
>> Okay.
[1:11:13]
>> Um and then we'll need um
[1:11:17]
firefight fields, you know. Um
[1:11:21]
>> should we ask um Sage?
[1:11:23]
>> I've asked Sage multiple times. He has
[1:11:26]
not committed.
[1:11:28]
>> Okay.
[1:11:28]
>> He he he wants to do the farms with his
[1:11:31]
kids this year. I think
[1:11:33]
>> he's never been able to.
[1:11:35]
>> Yeah. Okay. Well, that's that's good.
[1:11:39]
I can ask my husband, but he's not going
[1:11:41]
to be able to stay because of his dad.
[1:11:43]
>> He sit okay or no,
[1:11:46]
>> can he just sit?
[1:11:47]
>> He could sit. Yeah, if I get him a
[1:11:49]
comfortable chair. Um, but I'll ask him
[1:11:51]
to see if he can do the morning
[1:11:53]
>> since Ashley will be there at the end.
[1:11:55]
Um, there's parking issues there, too,
[1:11:58]
right?
[1:11:59]
>> Yeah, they were parking down at the
[1:12:01]
whatever the restaurant is now.
[1:12:03]
>> Oh, and walking all that. Okay.
[1:12:06]
>> I think so.
[1:12:06]
>> Wow. Yeah. I don't know if we can do
[1:12:08]
that this year, though.
[1:12:10]
>> Yeah.
[1:12:11]
>> Oh, we got permission last time.
[1:12:13]
>> I think so.
[1:12:13]
>> Yeah.
[1:12:15]
Um
[1:12:17]
I don't have Jen's information.
[1:12:22]
» Yeah, cuz that that was that's
[1:12:24]
somebody's property there right at the
[1:12:26]
end of her street.
[1:12:27]
>> Yeah. I mean, I think the guy with the
[1:12:28]
baseball bat's gone, though.
[1:12:31]
>> Yeah, I think. Yeah, that came out with
[1:12:34]
the baseball bat. I think he's my
[1:12:36]
landscaper now, though.
[1:12:37]
>> Wow. [laughter]
[1:12:38]
>> He's your landscaper,
[1:12:39]
>> Joe.
[1:12:40]
>> I think he's my landscaper now.
[1:12:42]
>> I never saw that.
[1:12:44]
>> He moved. Yeah, [laughter]
[1:12:45]
there was two Joe's that live there and
[1:12:47]
they're both landscapers.
[1:12:50]
[laughter] So,
[1:12:51]
>> yeah,
[1:12:53]
open farm day is a little little risky.
[1:12:56]
>> That's why we have orientation to prep
[1:12:57]
everybody. [laughter]
[1:13:00]
So, okay,
[1:13:01]
>> we're padding. So, my helmet,
[1:13:03]
>> if Lee could do the afternoon, that
[1:13:05]
would be great. We can move her there
[1:13:08]
um at the history museum. And then
[1:13:10]
that's pretty much it. We got coverage
[1:13:12]
for everything else, which is great.
[1:13:15]
Couple more volunteers and we'll be
[1:13:17]
perfect.
[1:13:21]
» That's assuming everyone here shows up.
[1:13:23]
>> Yes. Yep. And we got to get that
[1:13:25]
communication going.
[1:13:27]
And
[1:13:27]
>> how many 4 people were there total? Do
[1:13:29]
you know, Bert?
[1:13:32]
Uh, I I don't know yet. [clears throat]
[1:13:34]
>> Okay.
[1:13:37]
Next thing is
[1:13:39]
>> three separate programs. So, I'm
[1:13:40]
assuming it'll be one one each.
[1:13:43]
>> Okay.
[1:13:44]
>> At least one each.
[1:13:47]
» So, I mean, it can be spread out three
[1:13:49]
separate programs with three separate
[1:13:50]
farms. That would be ideal.
[1:13:54]
>> Oh,
[1:13:55]
okay.
[1:13:59]
» Yeah, that would be helpful. Yeah,
[1:14:01]
especially afternoon.
[1:14:02]
>> Yeah,
[1:14:03]
>> if they could promote their own
[1:14:04]
programs.
[1:14:06]
>> Yeah, but they they're going to promote
[1:14:07]
their own stuff, but they they're also
[1:14:09]
going to help us uh kind of a co-op type
[1:14:12]
of things.
[1:14:15]
>> So, can we go through the list again? Um
[1:14:17]
with tables and tents if we if needed.
[1:14:20]
>> Yeah, tables and tents.
[1:14:21]
>> So, I have two tables that I can
[1:14:23]
>> Which firms need them? I think that's
[1:14:26]
question. So, let's So, Blossom Acres
[1:14:28]
needs one,
[1:14:29]
>> right? She has them.
[1:14:30]
>> She has tents.
[1:14:30]
>> She has tables and tents.
[1:14:32]
>> She has everything.
[1:14:33]
>> Okay. So, we don't have to worry about
[1:14:35]
them. Howard, we need
[1:14:36]
>> She She can actually donate them to
[1:14:37]
other farms if need be.
[1:14:39]
>> Oh, cool.
[1:14:40]
>> But you have you have a tent for
[1:14:42]
animals.
[1:14:42]
>> I have a tent for animals. Yeah.
[1:14:44]
>> Okay. And what about for the sunflowers?
[1:14:46]
Oh, she has
[1:14:47]
>> that's already got one.
[1:14:48]
>> So, we just bring our own chairs.
[1:14:50]
>> I just need a table for Dwight. I don't
[1:14:52]
have a table.
[1:14:53]
>> Okay. I can bring a table.
[1:14:54]
>> Yeah, I I have two tables. Um I'm I'm
[1:14:57]
gonna need one. I have a 10 I can bring
[1:14:58]
for um Johnson Brookke.
[1:15:02]
>> I don't remember what we used under
[1:15:05]
we used the tape Karen's table last year
[1:15:07]
or if we use this I'm I think I might
[1:15:08]
have a smaller table that
[1:15:10]
>> I don't think there was much.
[1:15:11]
>> I can't remember. I definitely had a
[1:15:13]
table.
[1:15:13]
>> I have all different size tables.
[1:15:15]
>> There were plenty of tables. Try to
[1:15:17]
figure out which
[1:15:18]
>> I have like midsize. I have sixfooters
[1:15:21]
like three of those.
[1:15:22]
>> Nice.
[1:15:23]
>> That's how we do holidays. I pull out
[1:15:25]
all the plastic tables and cover them
[1:15:26]
with tablecloth.
[1:15:28]
>> Yeah. So,
[1:15:28]
>> yeah, I have two tables and two tents,
[1:15:30]
too, if anyone needs them. Um,
[1:15:32]
>> she has the
[1:15:32]
>> I have I have the easy.
[1:15:34]
>> Okay. So, I'll just bring a table.
[1:15:37]
>> Just one at Arnold's.
[1:15:39]
>> I'll double check with Karen. I don't
[1:15:40]
know what's under that under the
[1:15:42]
overhang here.
[1:15:43]
>> Maybe just bring two.
[1:15:44]
>> You don't have to set it up necessarily.
[1:15:46]
>> Yeah.
[1:15:47]
>> I mean, at Arnold's last year, we had
[1:15:48]
two tents through tables.
[1:15:50]
>> Um, just because it gets real hot there.
[1:15:52]
It's nice to have extra shade. Mhm.
[1:15:54]
>> Um,
[1:15:55]
>> what what about cowards? We need a
[1:15:57]
table.
[1:15:58]
>> You just need a table because they're on
[1:16:00]
the porch.
[1:16:00]
>> Okay.
[1:16:01]
>> Table.
[1:16:02]
>> and a chair.
[1:16:04]
>> Most everybody needs camping chairs. If
[1:16:07]
you have
[1:16:08]
>> chairs,
[1:16:08]
>> camping chairs, lunches, drinks,
[1:16:10]
whatever.
[1:16:11]
>> Um, and then, okay, Firefly Fields. She
[1:16:14]
has a um Did we set up a tent there or
[1:16:16]
she already has one?
[1:16:17]
>> I have no idea what
[1:16:18]
>> she had a tent there and a table. She's
[1:16:20]
usually pretty good. I could check with
[1:16:22]
her.
[1:16:22]
>> Okay.
[1:16:23]
um
[1:16:26]
if see what she needs and then we'll
[1:16:28]
>> I was going to say I think she would
[1:16:30]
have it with her business.
[1:16:31]
>> Yeah, exactly. Um so I'll check with
[1:16:34]
>> Yeah, I don't remember Sage having to
[1:16:35]
bring anything there.
[1:16:37]
>> Okay. Yeah, cuz I I they had table set
[1:16:39]
up when I went there last time and
[1:16:42]
>> Yeah, she got a lot of stuff going on.
[1:16:43]
So
[1:16:44]
>> yeah.
[1:16:45]
Well, um,
[1:16:49]
[clears throat]
[1:16:52]
tables and tents, maybe one tent. I'll
[1:16:56]
ask her. Um, okay. Johnson Brook, you're
[1:16:59]
also with that, right?
[1:17:00]
>> Table.
[1:17:00]
>> Klein view. What do they They usually
[1:17:02]
have a tent and a table.
[1:17:04]
>> Yeah. I think it's I think
[1:17:06]
[clears throat] it's Inga's tent.
[1:17:08]
>> Oh,
[1:17:09]
>> she's not going to be around, so I don't
[1:17:10]
know if we're going to have access to
[1:17:12]
it.
[1:17:12]
>> Tent and table.
[1:17:13]
>> Yeah. Of course, we have a question for
[1:17:14]
after she leaves. [laughter]
[1:17:17]
>> Okay, so they need that. Um, I have a
[1:17:20]
table for myself. I don't know if I need
[1:17:23]
>> There's plenty of tables there. You
[1:17:25]
might be able to set up on one of their
[1:17:26]
picnic tables.
[1:17:26]
>> I'm going to go there and ask. Uh,
[1:17:28]
>> okay. If you're going there anyway.
[1:17:29]
>> Okay. Um, so Dan's all set. You think he
[1:17:33]
needs a tent table?
[1:17:35]
>> He's never needed anything in the past.
[1:17:39]
I think he should be all set.
[1:17:41]
>> Okay. Um, I'll put a question mark. Uh,
[1:17:43]
Bside, they're all set then.
[1:17:45]
>> They don't even need us.
[1:17:47]
>> The museum. We need a table.
[1:17:48]
>> We should probably get Tom these sheets
[1:17:51]
or whatever. We need to get him a bag
[1:17:53]
and
[1:17:54]
>> Oh, and stuff.
[1:17:55]
>> Yep.
[1:17:56]
>> Um, and new signs and whatever,
[1:18:00]
but I can reach out to Tom anytime.
[1:18:02]
>> Okay, cool.
[1:18:02]
>> He's pretty good at responding.
[1:18:04]
>> And then, yeah, the history museum. They
[1:18:06]
need a tent and a table, right? Or a
[1:18:08]
table.
[1:18:09]
>> They need a tent and table.
[1:18:15]
Um, and Grandpa, you guys do too, right?
[1:18:18]
>> Yeah, I have a tent and a table. So,
[1:18:20]
we're
[1:18:21]
>> Where do you Where do you set up up
[1:18:22]
there?
[1:18:24]
[clears throat]
[1:18:25]
>> Just kind of That's right.
[1:18:27]
>> There's a couple of picnic tables out
[1:18:28]
there at [clears throat] a sort of a
[1:18:30]
corner of the building.
[1:18:32]
>> As you're Okay.
[1:18:33]
>> As you're coming in, you turn left to
[1:18:35]
park. And so, like right there. Yeah.
[1:18:38]
>> Okay.
[1:18:40]
So, you'll need a table.
[1:18:42]
>> No, we have one.
[1:18:44]
>> You have them. All right. So,
[1:18:46]
>> so we're all set there.
[1:18:48]
>> Check.
[1:18:49]
>> Okay. Can we set these things up the day
[1:18:53]
before?
[1:18:55]
>> I prefer I mean it only takes me 10
[1:18:57]
minutes to set everything up. Um
[1:18:59]
>> Okay.
[1:19:00]
>> If there's bad weather, you don't want
[1:19:01]
them flying away.
[1:19:02]
>> Sure.
[1:19:03]
>> Into the road.
[1:19:05]
>> It's nice. I'm going to put the tent up.
[1:19:07]
Yeah. Yeah.
[1:19:10]
additional.
[1:19:11]
>> Okay, so that that solves that. Okay,
[1:19:13]
that's one more thing off the agenda.
[1:19:16]
Um, and signs, we already kind of talked
[1:19:19]
about that, right?
[1:19:20]
>> Yeah, we'll put the signs up.
[1:19:22]
>> We can bring that up again at the
[1:19:24]
orientation as well.
[1:19:25]
>> Sure.
[1:19:26]
>> Actually, at that point, we'll be
[1:19:27]
probably taking them out of the shed.
[1:19:29]
>> And then we talked about Ena as a
[1:19:31]
contributor budget. And then the floater
[1:19:33]
photographer. Um, guess we all take our
[1:19:36]
own photos.
[1:19:37]
>> Take our own photos. My wife's going to
[1:19:38]
take photos. I'll
[1:19:40]
>> step it up this year more.
[1:19:42]
>> Perfect. You've got to make it to all
[1:19:43]
the farm.
[1:19:45]
>> Most of them anyway. Yeah.
[1:19:47]
>> I did remember seeing her at cow chest
[1:19:49]
the last fair, but yeah. So, okay.
[1:19:52]
>> Yeah, she takes the kids.
[1:19:53]
>> That's it for the agenda.
[1:19:54]
>> Sister,
[1:19:57]
[clears throat]
[1:19:57]
>> anything else that anybody has questions
[1:19:59]
on?
[1:20:00]
>> Yeah. Hey, it's not on the agenda, but
[1:20:02]
um I sent you guys um a draft passport
[1:20:06]
and
[1:20:07]
>> Oh, yeah.
[1:20:08]
>> It also includes a new logo.
[1:20:11]
>> So, I like the logo. I don't love it. Um
[1:20:14]
>> yeah, I don't I don't like that it's I
[1:20:17]
mean, they're picking up on the town
[1:20:19]
seal or logo or whatever, which is fine.
[1:20:22]
>> I like that part, but why is all the
[1:20:24]
black around the far around the barn?
[1:20:28]
Yeah, that's because um
[1:20:30]
>> is that supposed to be in the shape of
[1:20:31]
Southwick? Because it's not the shape of
[1:20:33]
Southwick.
[1:20:34]
>> Yes, it is. [clears throat] And that was
[1:20:36]
>> that is one that is one large notch.
[1:20:39]
[laughter]
[1:20:40]
>> Yeah. Uh that's a version because I said
[1:20:43]
on the there's one version with where
[1:20:45]
there it's blue sky over the barn.
[1:20:48]
>> Yeah.
[1:20:49]
>> And the the borderline of the town is
[1:20:52]
just kind of through the sky and it's
[1:20:53]
like what's that? What is that? And the
[1:20:55]
tra and the tractor is just kind of like
[1:20:57]
placed on top of the image. It doesn't
[1:20:59]
like really incorporate into it.
[1:21:01]
>> Yeah,
[1:21:02]
>> it's it's a good concept. I don't think
[1:21:04]
it's executed very well, like perfectly.
[1:21:08]
>> Should you use like an old farmal
[1:21:10]
tractor?
[1:21:10]
>> Well, I was going to say the tractor
[1:21:12]
does not match.
[1:21:13]
>> It's too It's too AI.
[1:21:16]
>> I think we should get Dwight's old
[1:21:17]
tractor parked in front of his barn and
[1:21:19]
get an actual
[1:21:20]
>> My tractor.
[1:21:21]
>> Well, why don't we just get an actual
[1:21:23]
photo
[1:21:24]
>> tractor perhaps? Yeah, he's got a
[1:21:25]
thousand among them to help perform.
[1:21:27]
Have you seen that's got me the most
[1:21:28]
photographed tractor?
[1:21:29]
>> Yeah.
[1:21:30]
>> So, why don't we use that?
[1:21:31]
>> And then you might be able to reduce the
[1:21:33]
notch a little.
[1:21:34]
>> Yeah. I I like I'd like to use I'd like
[1:21:37]
to have color in the whole inside.
[1:21:39]
>> Yeah.
[1:21:39]
>> But I' then just have like the outline
[1:21:41]
like the gold or whatever it is um
[1:21:44]
outline of the town but more accurate.
[1:21:49]
» That makes sense.
[1:21:51]
>> Yeah. I don't like it. So, a smaller jog
[1:21:54]
is one one thing, right?
[1:21:57]
>> Yeah. And well, I think the tractor
[1:21:59]
would be over the jog if I don't know.
[1:22:02]
It's definitely not proportional to the
[1:22:04]
actual size of the
[1:22:06]
>> flush out the logo.
[1:22:08]
>> It looks better in black and white than
[1:22:09]
it does in color actually.
[1:22:11]
>> Well, because one doesn't one the
[1:22:13]
picture looks real like a photograph and
[1:22:16]
the tractor looks like it's AI generated
[1:22:18]
and so to me they just don't meld
[1:22:20]
together.
[1:22:20]
>> No. I'd like to have a real picture. I
[1:22:23]
mean, that might be a actual Southwick
[1:22:25]
barn. I'm not sure.
[1:22:26]
>> It it is. Yes.
[1:22:28]
>> Yeah, that that I think.
[1:22:30]
>> Is that one of the Wallally's?
[1:22:32]
>> I thought it was
[1:22:33]
>> like on Tannery.
[1:22:35]
>> I'm not.
[1:22:35]
>> I think that's the one on Tannery.
[1:22:39]
>> Red.
[1:22:39]
>> I mean, so I I like the one where the
[1:22:43]
sky shows over the barn.
[1:22:46]
You okay with that?
[1:22:47]
>> But I don't like that there's black on
[1:22:49]
the bottom.
[1:22:51]
I think I think the field should fill
[1:22:53]
the whole image.
[1:22:54]
>> Okay.
[1:22:54]
>> We can still have the outline like it is
[1:22:56]
on the top of the image of Southwick.
[1:22:58]
Just make it more accurate.
[1:22:59]
>> I thought we said we wanted like
[1:23:01]
tobacco.
[1:23:02]
>> Yeah, tobacco would be good because we
[1:23:04]
or tobacco town.
[1:23:05]
>> Not to be partial.
[1:23:06]
>> That's why I think we should do Dwight.
[1:23:08]
Oh, I think we should do Dwight's.
[1:23:11]
I don't know if you want.
[1:23:12]
>> Yeah, it would be really cool just to
[1:23:13]
have a tobacco bar with a real tractor, too. Is that what Dwight does?
[1:23:18]
>> I don't. We have an old farm all sitting
[1:23:20]
out there right now. That thing doesn't
[1:23:22]
>> I don't care if it runs. I just I want
[1:23:24]
it to look I want it to look like, you
[1:23:25]
know, Southwork,
[1:23:26]
>> right? [laughter]
[1:23:28]
>> Well, the farm is great.
[1:23:29]
>> And there's tobacco in that field this
[1:23:30]
year as well. So, I'm wonder if we could
[1:23:31]
just take a picture right now where it
[1:23:32]
stob right now.
[1:23:36]
>> It's getting there.
[1:23:36]
>> Is it the tent or is it the
[1:23:38]
>> broad leaf?
[1:23:39]
>> Yeah. I'd love that. The tent.
[1:23:40]
>> It's right next to the They're growing.
[1:23:42]
>> You got the tent tent tobacco in there.
[1:23:44]
Shade tobacco. Um cuz I that's
[1:23:48]
>> the dream.
[1:23:49]
>> It's notic. What the heck?
[1:23:50]
>> Well, if you put the lakes inside the
[1:23:52]
notch.
[1:23:53]
>> I
[1:23:54]
>> Yeah,
[1:23:56]
>> I I don't like that there's a black spot
[1:23:58]
in it.
[1:23:59]
>> Yeah,
[1:23:59]
>> I like the
[1:24:00]
>> Okay. Yep.
[1:24:01]
>> I love I like the concept. I think we're
[1:24:03]
almost there, but
[1:24:04]
>> Yep.
[1:24:05]
>> think [clears throat] we just need to
[1:24:06]
fix it.
[1:24:07]
>> Okay. Great idea to take a picture of
[1:24:10]
Dwight's. Uh but we got to do that
[1:24:11]
quickly.
[1:24:13]
>> Yes.
[1:24:14]
I don't know who who who could do it.
[1:24:18]
>> Well, I mean, someone someone lives
[1:24:20]
right there.
[1:24:21]
>> Yeah. [laughter]
[1:24:25]
» Yeah. No, I mean, I can certainly try to
[1:24:27]
take a few photos and see what you guys
[1:24:28]
say.
[1:24:28]
>> I mean, you got a pretty good camera.
[1:24:30]
>> Where it stands? I have a camera, too.
[1:24:31]
Yeah.
[1:24:31]
>> Okay.
[1:24:32]
>> Oh, the sunflowers are already
[1:24:34]
>> I mean, yeah, we could probably get
[1:24:35]
depending on what I can get.
[1:24:37]
>> Yeah. You just got You got the power
[1:24:39]
lines. I'd like not to be in the photo.
[1:24:41]
Maybe get the barn and the field and the
[1:24:43]
sunflower all one shot
[1:24:44]
>> if you can do that. Yeah, I mean we can.
[1:24:47]
>> We got everything.
[1:24:48]
>> Yeah,
[1:24:48]
>> we could like Photoshop out stuff we
[1:24:50]
don't want.
[1:24:52]
>> Right.
[1:24:53]
>> I'll see what I can do when it starts
[1:24:54]
raining.
[1:24:55]
>> Yeah. And so do we want Dwight's old
[1:24:57]
tractor instead of this one?
[1:25:00]
>> I don't like this tractor. It just
[1:25:02]
>> Yeah. Okay.
[1:25:03]
>> You take a new picture that has
[1:25:04]
everything in it that we're looking for.
[1:25:06]
Just use one photo and it won't be like
[1:25:08]
slapped on top of the other one.
[1:25:09]
>> Right. Okay.
[1:25:10]
>> Shrink the factor way down. Put it in
[1:25:12]
the field.
[1:25:13]
>> Yeah. I want everything to be
[1:25:14]
proportional.
[1:25:15]
>> Lake area in the
[1:25:17]
>> I like I like how the lake shows up on
[1:25:18]
that a little, but
[1:25:19]
>> I feel like this would be like
[1:25:22]
>> it just it feels like
[1:25:23]
>> it feels like it's stretched.
[1:25:26]
>> It got too big. It did get very Could
[1:25:29]
you get a copy of that, too? Okay.
[1:25:32]
>> Okay.
[1:25:32]
>> Yeah. I don't like the cutout of the
[1:25:34]
>> Yeah.
[1:25:35]
>> It just doesn't look right.
[1:25:37]
>> Yeah. Just like and then they put the
[1:25:39]
lake in there.
[1:25:41]
>> Which is fine. Like the outline's there.
[1:25:43]
Just do the outline over the whole
[1:25:45]
picture.
[1:25:46]
>> Right. Right. Yeah.
[1:25:47]
>> Shrink the tractor. Put it back in the
[1:25:50]
before like with this passport stuff. Is
[1:25:53]
that
[1:25:54]
That's not the goal, right?
[1:25:57]
>> No.
[1:25:57]
>> What?
[1:25:58]
>> I don't
[1:25:59]
>> Yeah, it's on. Isn't it on something?
[1:26:02]
>> They want to put it on.
[1:26:04]
>> too. I mean, if we don't
[1:26:05]
>> I don't think we'll have enough time in
[1:26:06]
front of the passport on the barn, but
[1:26:09]
the open bar
[1:26:10]
>> if we don't have
[1:26:10]
>> I mean, if they use it, it's fine, but I
[1:26:12]
don't think that's our official logo.
[1:26:15]
>> Yeah,
[1:26:16]
>> they could take it off, right?
[1:26:18]
>> Yeah. Oh, definitely. Uh, and I'll ask
[1:26:20]
them, you know, like how,
[1:26:24]
you know, how much time we have for the
[1:26:26]
for this.
[1:26:27]
>> Maybe we don't have a time to put them
[1:26:29]
on our lo our open farm day stuff.
[1:26:31]
>> I mean, it doesn't have to be an
[1:26:32]
official logo. I mean, it can be a beta.
[1:26:34]
It could be a beta version,
[1:26:36]
[laughter] you know, test the waters
[1:26:38]
>> in this 1 through 12. That That's what
[1:26:40]
we're doing. We're going to have our
[1:26:42]
number signs at the farms. Is that what
[1:26:44]
we're doing? Is that what this is?
[1:26:46]
>> No, they they got confused between
[1:26:48]
>> No, I don't want that.
[1:26:49]
>> Okay.
[1:26:50]
>> Yeah, we just have our regular the same
[1:26:52]
open farm day signs we've used before.
[1:26:55]
ones with the ones with the
[1:26:57]
>> ones ones with the numbers when we
[1:27:00]
reprint the farm trail brochure
[1:27:04]
those
[1:27:05]
>> those will coincide with that brochure.
[1:27:09]
>> Okay, got it.
[1:27:11]
>> I don't think we're doing that. We're
[1:27:12]
not doing Yeah, we're not going to use
[1:27:14]
the number system. I guess we'll just go
[1:27:16]
with passport which is updated. We just
[1:27:19]
have to
[1:27:20]
>> Was it accurate?
[1:27:21]
>> Um
[1:27:22]
>> I can't see.
[1:27:22]
>> I see. um for me this second usually
[1:27:26]
some kind of like grammatical or
[1:27:29]
spelling error every year.
[1:27:30]
>> I haven't I haven't pro I haven't proof
[1:27:32]
read it yet but um I will
[1:27:36]
>> and uh
[1:27:38]
>> we decided to just number the farms you
[1:27:40]
know just put them in alphabetically.
[1:27:43]
>> Yeah. Okay.
[1:27:44]
>> Number them you know 1 through 11. Uh
[1:27:47]
presum
[1:27:49]
we may be moving
[1:27:50]
>> directionally.
[1:27:52]
Is that easy for people to get to if
[1:27:54]
they really followed it one through 10
[1:27:55]
or one through 12?
[1:27:58]
>> Like is one next to two?
[1:28:02]
>> Yeah. So no. So and we Martin and I
[1:28:05]
thought of trying to you know put the
[1:28:08]
numbers on the map to suggest a route to
[1:28:12]
people.
[1:28:14]
>> Um
[1:28:14]
>> it's it's hard to do though. I don't
[1:28:16]
think we have the real estate for that.
[1:28:17]
>> Well, and it depends on where they're
[1:28:19]
coming in from
[1:28:20]
>> where you want to start.
[1:28:22]
>> They'll be coming from everywhere.
[1:28:23]
Somebody might want to start with
[1:28:24]
Granville Scoop and somebody might want
[1:28:26]
to start with
[1:28:27]
>> Bezi, right? You know,
[1:28:28]
>> to come right.
[1:28:29]
>> Yeah.
[1:28:30]
>> Right.
[1:28:30]
>> Yeah. Let let people decide that on
[1:28:32]
their own.
[1:28:32]
>> I mean, and if it's alphabetical, that's
[1:28:34]
the most, you know, to me a nonbiased
[1:28:38]
way to do it. Just
[1:28:39]
>> alphabetical. Yeah. Yep. Exactly. Yeah.
[1:28:41]
I I understand that point. Yep.
[1:28:45]
And then uh
[1:28:47]
the info on the back is pretty much the
[1:28:50]
same that it's always been. Um just, you
[1:28:53]
know, slight edits. Oh, and the logo is
[1:28:55]
on the back, too. So, I don't know. Um
[1:28:59]
>> do we um are we okay with having the
[1:29:02]
same picture? Yeah, we're okay with
[1:29:03]
that, right?
[1:29:05]
>> Um I don't think we have anything else
[1:29:06]
to work with.
[1:29:08]
>> My wife has some pictures, but
[1:29:11]
>> yeah. Well, we'll think about it.
[1:29:13]
Southwood's article. They used one of my
[1:29:15]
wife's pictures.
[1:29:16]
>> Oh, cool. Awesome.
[1:29:18]
>> That's great.
[1:29:20]
>> Okay. Um,
[1:29:23]
so, so I'll talk to Martin about
[1:29:26]
>> Yeah.
[1:29:26]
>> working on the logo and how much time we
[1:29:28]
have to do that. And if we don't have
[1:29:30]
>> time, we'll just take the logo off, I
[1:29:33]
think, off the passport.
[1:29:34]
>> Yeah, we might have to.
[1:29:36]
>> Yeah.
[1:29:36]
>> I mean, when's it going to stop raining?
[1:29:38]
>> I think [laughter] Friday is supposed to
[1:29:40]
be nice.
[1:29:42]
I thought they said tomorrow in the
[1:29:43]
afternoon it might be okay.
[1:29:48]
» Why it says rain for the next week?
[1:29:50]
>> Two quick quick notes on the
[1:29:53]
edits, but one they have road
[1:29:57]
abbreviated on some of them and then
[1:29:58]
they have them spelled out on some.
[1:30:01]
>> Okay. Oh, I see.
[1:30:04]
And then I wonder if they could I don't
[1:30:06]
know if you guys think but in between
[1:30:08]
putting the name of the farm and the
[1:30:10]
road like could we maybe put like a dash
[1:30:13]
or like doesn't that kind of look like
[1:30:15]
it all kind of runs together?
[1:30:17]
>> Yeah, like a bullet or something in
[1:30:19]
there
[1:30:19]
>> something. Yeah, just
[1:30:21]
>> some formatting.
[1:30:23]
>> I seeak no comment because I can't see
[1:30:26]
it.
[1:30:26]
>> I I just can't
[1:30:27]
>> I'm like I know I'm like zooming in.
[1:30:29]
>> I can't see it even zoomed in. I
[1:30:31]
Everything looks so blurry to me. I
[1:30:32]
can't see it.
[1:30:34]
>> Yeah. To make it
[1:30:36]
>> small typo under six letter new second
[1:30:39]
line last visit all three groups at tole
[1:30:42]
learn. I think that at probably
[1:30:45]
shouldn't be there.
[1:30:47]
>> Um yeah I think you're right to learn
[1:30:50]
about it.
[1:30:52]
>> If we all agree we should probably vote
[1:30:54]
to have that like processed
[1:30:59]
without probably the logo. Did we
[1:31:01]
already allocate money for that? I think
[1:31:04]
we
[1:31:04]
>> we did. Yeah, we did.
[1:31:05]
>> We did. Oh, yeah. A long time ago. I
[1:31:07]
have it.
[1:31:11]
» Yeah, it's already in. Actually, it's
[1:31:13]
already
[1:31:14]
>> um slated to go to um it's our carryover
[1:31:20]
invoice. So,
[1:31:23]
>> um I'm [clears throat] just noticing on
[1:31:24]
the back uh under the picture it says
[1:31:27]
that uh Farm Day is co-sponsored by the
[1:31:30]
EDC and the South Land Trust.
[1:31:33]
>> Yeah, that needs to be removed.
[1:31:34]
>> We're gonna take that out.
[1:31:36]
>> Yeah, take that out.
[1:31:37]
>> Yeah,
[1:31:39]
>> I guess that answers your question,
[1:31:40]
Janice.
[1:31:44]
» They're not sponsoring us this.
[1:31:46]
>> Yeah.
[1:31:49]
Did you talk just enough for goodwill
[1:31:51]
that they could volunteer to earn
[1:31:53]
anything from?
[1:31:53]
>> Yeah, I would love I would love more
[1:31:54]
volunteers, but
[1:31:55]
>> yeah,
[1:31:56]
>> that would be great. But yeah,
[1:31:58]
>> I specifically asked Dan to ask Dave to
[1:32:02]
volunteer.
[1:32:03]
>> Dan,
[1:32:04]
>> I haven't heard a word.
[1:32:06]
>> Dire asked Dave earlier and he said he couldn't do it. I don't know why. Oh.
[1:32:10]
>> Oh.
[1:32:13]
>> So, we're taking the town, the economic
[1:32:15]
and the land trust
[1:32:18]
>> and our Southwick 2040 people. Still
[1:32:24]
haven't heard a response from any of
[1:32:25]
them.
[1:32:26]
>> 2040,
[1:32:26]
>> the town um master plan people.
[1:32:30]
>> Oh, yeah.
[1:32:31]
>> We're supposed to have supporting, you
[1:32:33]
know, boards.
[1:32:35]
>> Martha from land management. We have um
[1:32:38]
Greg from EDC,
[1:32:40]
>> but I don't think either of those are
[1:32:41]
supporting.
[1:32:42]
>> I'm specifically talking about um
[1:32:45]
>> conservation because they're like our
[1:32:47]
main supporting committee.
[1:32:50]
>> I know. Um Sabrina pass forwarded all
[1:32:53]
the information.
[1:32:54]
>> She didn't sign up.
[1:32:55]
>> Huh?
[1:32:56]
>> She didn't sign up.
[1:32:58]
>> I can't speak for them. Sorry.
[1:33:01]
>> Um I'm I'll send another email, I guess,
[1:33:03]
to them.
[1:33:05]
>> Have you ever done this like in the
[1:33:06]
fall? Actually, I think she's on
[1:33:07]
vacation. That's why
[1:33:09]
>> Changing Farmers the farmers farmers
[1:33:11]
don't want to when we do.
[1:33:14]
>> Yeah.
[1:33:14]
>> And we asked
[1:33:15]
>> We asked them. Yeah.
[1:33:16]
>> They didn't want
[1:33:18]
too busy.
[1:33:19]
>> Y
[1:33:19]
>> it's too busy. Yeah.
[1:33:21]
>> Grampy changed theirs though, right?
[1:33:23]
Grampy changed theirs to
[1:33:24]
>> I guess it depends what you have going
[1:33:25]
on at your farm. But the fall is super
[1:33:27]
busy with like the pumpkin, the hay
[1:33:30]
ride.
[1:33:30]
>> Yeah. That's all more attraction for
[1:33:32]
people.
[1:33:32]
>> Yeah. the farm they don't feel like they
[1:33:34]
have enough time to
[1:33:35]
>> some of the farms don't have anything
[1:33:36]
going like the tobacco's all down by
[1:33:37]
then right
[1:33:38]
>> it's
[1:33:40]
true
[1:33:41]
>> yeah so
[1:33:41]
>> that's the other point yeah
[1:33:45]
>> can't go in them
[1:33:46]
>> yeah grand be the weekend after Labor
[1:33:49]
Day
[1:33:50]
>> okay yeah so they are in September okay
[1:33:52]
>> this year's is actually very early being
[1:33:54]
on the 16th just the way it fell this
[1:33:57]
year usually it's about another week
[1:33:58]
later
[1:34:00]
>> um
[1:34:02]
>> so with the edits. Um, do you guys want
[1:34:04]
to vote to have those processed or to
[1:34:07]
get them submitted?
[1:34:09]
>> Do we need to really vote on it?
[1:34:11]
>> I think to process I don't know
[1:34:16]
» to agree on the on the changes.
[1:34:19]
>> Yeah.
[1:34:20]
>> I mean, if we [clears throat] can get a
[1:34:22]
picture for the logo in time. I like the
[1:34:25]
concept.
[1:34:26]
It just needs some tweaks and a better
[1:34:28]
photo in it.
[1:34:29]
>> Yeah. I wouldn't mind having the logo on
[1:34:32]
there if we But we can't vote on the
[1:34:34]
logo, but it we could use a beta
[1:34:38]
version,
[1:34:38]
>> right? Doesn't have to be our
[1:34:40]
>> Doesn't have to be official. We don't
[1:34:41]
have to make it official.
[1:34:43]
>> I don't think we really need to vote. We
[1:34:45]
just need to kind of agree because we've
[1:34:46]
already voted to do this, so
[1:34:50]
>> we voted the money.
[1:34:52]
>> Yeah, that's that's the big thing.
[1:34:53]
>> It looks exactly like the seal assigned
[1:34:55]
to it.
[1:34:55]
>> Yeah, I like the seal idea. I just think
[1:34:57]
it's too
[1:34:58]
>> not just too big on that.
[1:34:59]
>> It needs to be a little different though
[1:35:00]
too. You know what I mean? Like
[1:35:01]
>> I think maybe the custom
[1:35:02]
>> I guess that's what he did. He colored
[1:35:03]
in.
[1:35:04]
>> It's like blue. I don't know.
[1:35:05]
>> He needs to do the gold outline though
[1:35:07]
on the whole thing. He kind of stopped
[1:35:08]
at the bottom.
[1:35:09]
>> Well, this is green.
[1:35:10]
>> Yeah,
[1:35:11]
>> this is black.
[1:35:12]
>> It's like we copied it. I don't know.
[1:35:13]
>> I like the gold. Um
[1:35:16]
>> yeah,
[1:35:17]
>> it just needs to go all the way around.
[1:35:23]
» Take a picture of that and send it to
[1:35:25]
Bert.
[1:35:28]
There you are.
[1:35:29]
>> You know, I want to see if I'd like to
[1:35:31]
try a version that has like the the
[1:35:36]
black and yellow circle
[1:35:39]
from the town logo and but and maybe not
[1:35:42]
have the shape of the town.
[1:35:45]
>> Yeah.
[1:35:46]
We don't have to have the shape of
[1:35:48]
the town.
[1:35:48]
>> It's kind of weird, honestly.
[1:35:49]
>> Yeah. It kind of I think it kind of
[1:35:50]
takes away from the
[1:35:52]
>> Yeah,
[1:35:52]
>> it's weird when you try to put in it.
[1:35:55]
>> Yeah. Yeah, you can take that brain,
[1:35:57]
that line, the outline of town out.
[1:36:00]
Yeah,
[1:36:02]
>> I can definitely see where he got his
[1:36:03]
concept from.
[1:36:05]
>> Yes,
[1:36:09]
» I just think it could be approved upon.
[1:36:11]
Hey, maybe we can change the whole town
[1:36:13]
while we're at it.
[1:36:15]
>> Yeah, I wouldn't mind.
[1:36:20]
It's not very accurate. I guess I know
[1:36:23]
what bothers me about it.
[1:36:26]
Next one.
[1:36:27]
>> So, I'll see what I can get for
[1:36:28]
pictures. I'll just send them and then
[1:36:32]
if we go with it, great. If not, then we
[1:36:34]
just figure out our logo at another
[1:36:36]
date.
[1:36:36]
>> Yeah.
[1:36:37]
>> So, when does he Do you know when he
[1:36:39]
needs this by Bert?
[1:36:40]
>> Uh, I don't, but I'll find out uh
[1:36:42]
tomorrow morning.
[1:36:44]
>> Okay. So, um hopefully Friday looks like
[1:36:46]
the nicest day in the next week. So, if
[1:36:49]
Jessica can get us a good photo to use
[1:36:52]
instead.
[1:36:53]
>> Okay. Yep. that incorporates a barn,
[1:36:55]
tobacco, and a tractor. I mean, and
[1:36:58]
sunflowers. I mean, that's a win-win
[1:37:00]
win.
[1:37:02]
[laughter]
[1:37:05]
» You want to bring a cow? We can throw
[1:37:06]
that in there.
[1:37:09]
>> AI.
[1:37:10]
[laughter]
[1:37:11]
>> Yeah. All the AI stuff has made it look
[1:37:12]
pretty terrible. So, we we've gone down
[1:37:14]
that route. I
[1:37:15]
>> was gonna say the AI stuff. I see every
[1:37:18]
brochure.
[1:37:18]
>> It all looks the same.
[1:37:20]
>> See it now. It all looks the same.
[1:37:21]
>> It all looks the same. And I mean, yeah,
[1:37:23]
it's very whatever professionally
[1:37:25]
looking, but it it doesn't I don't know.
[1:37:27]
It doesn't grab I mean, they're using it
[1:37:28]
now for the police.
[1:37:31]
It's too much.
[1:37:31]
>> It's not authentic.
[1:37:33]
>> It doesn't look authentic.
[1:37:34]
>> No.
[1:37:34]
>> So, let's bring some authenticity back
[1:37:36]
to it.
[1:37:38]
>> That's That's because it's not
[1:37:39]
authentic.
[1:37:40]
>> Exactly.
[1:37:42]
>> Right. Yeah. Exactly.
[1:37:43]
>> The eye and AI is inauthentic.
[1:37:46]
>> Yeah. I just and everybody is using it
[1:37:48]
in so many places that everything is
[1:37:50]
popping up AI and it's like
[1:37:53]
>> it's just it's cluttered
[1:37:55]
>> the whole time like a lot of the events
[1:37:57]
and things I think are just
[1:37:58]
>> yeah it's it's
[1:38:00]
>> like watching a 3se secondond commercial
[1:38:02]
blip and it drives me crazy.
[1:38:05]
>> I'd rather have something that is is
[1:38:08]
something that you can read and it looks
[1:38:09]
like a picture and maybe it's not
[1:38:12]
perfect but it's okay.
[1:38:16]
Well,
[1:38:17]
>> I think that's about it for now.
[1:38:20]
>> You haven't heard about appointments or
[1:38:22]
appointments?
[1:38:23]
>> I've not heard about appointments or
[1:38:24]
reappoints.
[1:38:25]
>> Gotten anything? I don't know if I will.
[1:38:27]
Last time I didn't. They just put me on
[1:38:28]
and it happened without me being there.
[1:38:30]
>> I've watched the last couple um select
[1:38:32]
board meetings and there's nothing. So
[1:38:34]
officially, if you're already appointed
[1:38:37]
from the year before and um you are were
[1:38:41]
sworn in before, we could still vote on
[1:38:45]
things until if unless we're replaced by
[1:38:48]
somebody,
[1:38:48]
>> right?
[1:38:49]
>> Um so we're okay with having this
[1:38:52]
>> people. Yeah.
[1:38:52]
>> Voting and all that stuff. So,
[1:38:54]
>> but the new people aren't official,
[1:38:56]
>> right? Unfortunately.
[1:38:58]
And I believe after you, you and Ashley
[1:39:00]
get appointed, we still have one seat
[1:39:03]
available.
[1:39:04]
>> Oh, can somebody ask Dan if they have if
[1:39:06]
he has extra shirts to go around because
[1:39:08]
we're all going to wear our shirts,
[1:39:09]
right?
[1:39:09]
>> He does have a few.
[1:39:10]
>> Do you have a shirt? You have shirt?
[1:39:12]
Okay.
[1:39:13]
>> I wonder if we have extra shirts that we
[1:39:16]
can give out to
[1:39:17]
>> We do.
[1:39:19]
>> The new commissioners,
[1:39:20]
>> right?
[1:39:21]
>> Yeah. And they're going to need they're
[1:39:23]
going to need badges.
[1:39:24]
>> Yeah. Name tags.
[1:39:25]
>> Name tags. Yeah, I was going to say,
[1:39:26]
well, so I I can do those.
[1:39:28]
>> Oh, I think I think Pango might be
[1:39:30]
putting that in. Oh. Oh, the lanyard.
[1:39:34]
>> Lanyards. Yeah,
[1:39:35]
>> that's right. Y
[1:39:36]
>> I mean, because they're almost coming
[1:39:38]
from it.
[1:39:39]
>> TBD [laughter]
[1:39:41]
missioner pending
[1:39:44]
in progress. [laughter]
[1:39:48]
» It's kind of embarrassing.
[1:39:49]
>> Some kind of title
[1:39:51]
badge from something. I don't know if it
[1:39:53]
would apply if it's generic. Yeah, just
[1:39:55]
put a little sticker on it says, you
[1:39:56]
know, agricultural commission or
[1:39:57]
something.
[1:39:59]
>> Yeah, if we could get everybody
[1:40:00]
lanyards, that would be helpful.
[1:40:02]
>> Yeah,
[1:40:03]
>> I still have mine.
[1:40:04]
>> I have mine.
[1:40:05]
>> Thank you, Bert.
[1:40:06]
>> Appreciate that.
[1:40:07]
>> Oh, sure. Of course.
[1:40:09]
>> Awesome. All right. I think
[1:40:12]
>> Okay.
[1:40:14]
>> I think we're good. Um, I'll make a
[1:40:15]
motion to adjurnn.
[1:40:17]
>> I second that.
[1:40:18]
>> All in favor?
[1:40:19]
>> I
[1:40:21]
[laughter]
[1:40:22]
>> All right. Good night, everyone.
[1:40:24]
>> Okay. Take care. Thanks.
[1:40:25]
>> See you.
[1:40:26]
>> So, August 6, everybody.
[1:40:28]
>> Yep.
[1:40:30]
>> Thursday night moment.
