[3:00]
ag education classes at webster
[3:05]

[3:06]

[3:12]
had the opportunity to serve our
[3:15]
community
[3:17]
um i brought with me two of my officers
[3:18]

[3:30]
hello my name is aaron johnston i'm a
[3:33]
senior at booker t washington high
[3:34]
school and at the beginning of this year
[3:36]
i enrolled in mr wakeley's photo one
[3:38]
program
[3:39]
i followed the traditional photo one
[3:41]
curriculum and learned the basics of
[3:43]
photoshop and
[3:45]
photography at the end of the semester i
[3:47]
sat down with mr wakeley to discuss a
[3:49]
business that i started the previous
[3:51]
year i officially registered aaron ross
[3:54]
llc in august of 2013.
[3:57]
i started the company with two thousand
[3:58]
dollars and two products
[4:00]
uh we currently are
[4:02]
expanding to our fourth product have a
[4:04]
website and we'll be selling in four
[4:05]
different states by the end of the month
[4:09]
uh mr wakeley and i discussed
[4:11]
potentially
[4:12]
expanding the traditional curriculum to
[4:14]
allow me to
[4:16]
learn graphic design and
[4:18]
screen print screen printing skills so
[4:20]
that i could in source instead of
[4:21]
outsourcing and in the last couple
[4:23]
months i've saved multiple hundred
[4:25]
dollars
[4:26]
and said of because i'm able to the
[4:28]
skills in mr wakely's
[4:30]
program
[4:33]
the
[4:34]
photo program at booker t washington has
[4:36]
helped me bridge the gap between my
[4:38]
professional ambitions and my high
[4:40]
school career and
[4:42]
thank you to mr wakeley and the
[4:45]
faculty at booker t washington for
[4:47]
allowing me to take an internship that i
[4:48]
have recently been awarded at a company
[4:51]
at 51st memorial called data storage
[4:54]
they're allowing me to partake in it on
[4:55]
thursdays during school hours and
[4:58]
it has been a great honor to partake in
[5:00]
the internship and be a part of the
[5:01]
programs that mr wakely and booker t
[5:03]
offer thank you
[5:10]
hello i attend central high school where
[5:12]
i'm a junior my name is shakira williams
[5:14]
and i'm enrolled in ms gargery's class
[5:15]
because i wanted to take my creativity
[5:18]
and talent into a new form
[5:21]
throughout working on projects like
[5:22]
creating our own patterns designs and
[5:24]
making an article clothing as well as
[5:27]
designing a garment made out of
[5:29]
household items
[5:32]
i have discovered a new artistic talent
[5:35]
and gain more confidence i am sure what
[5:37]
i'm doing after high school but this has
[5:39]
made me
[5:40]
do a double take and pursuing a double
[5:42]
major
[5:50]
hi
[5:51]
my name is hayden jamison and i am a
[5:53]
senior at nathan hale high school i have
[5:55]
been in the culinary arts program for
[5:56]
four years i got into the culinary arts
[5:59]
program because i thought it would be an
[6:01]
easy a class
[6:03]
it turned out to be something i really
[6:04]
liked and was passionate about
[6:06]
and i've had many opportunities among
[6:08]
them getting to cook
[6:10]
with the an executive chef at the
[6:12]
odyssey de culinaire held at the
[6:13]
doubletree hotel this past summer
[6:16]
i'm still uncertain as to what i want to
[6:18]
do regarding a career path but what i
[6:20]
have learned in the culinary arts course
[6:22]
such as leadership skills initiative and
[6:24]
a sense of urgency
[6:26]
i know i will take with me in whatever
[6:28]
career i choose and for the rest of my
[6:30]
life
[6:36]
the pear better that you have at your
[6:38]
seat tonight was prepared for you by the
[6:39]
culinary arts students at nathan hale
[6:41]
can we give these students a round of
[6:43]
applause they did a great job
[6:49]
we also have with us tonight several
[6:51]
members of our college and career
[6:52]
readiness staff and our teachers from
[6:54]
the building if they would stand please
[6:55]
and be recognized
[7:03]
thank you for having us tonight
[7:07]
taylor thank you so much um your your
[7:10]
program just does such a great service
[7:12]
for tulsa public schools now you are in
[7:15]
exactly how many schools
[7:19]
we are in 22 middle and highs with 54
[7:22]
programs we serve approximately ten
[7:24]
thousand secondary students including
[7:26]
four programs that's the number that i
[7:28]
was looking for a few years ago whenever
[7:31]
we really got into our college and
[7:33]
career readiness this department really
[7:36]
revamped themselves and they actually
[7:38]
changed their name
[7:40]
to the college and career readiness
[7:42]
department they are
[7:45]
financed through a grant with the
[7:47]
oklahoma's state department of career
[7:50]
and technology and a carl perkins grant
[7:54]
but they're involved in so many programs
[7:56]
whether it's stem
[7:58]
or a number of different programs
[8:00]
i hope everyone took the time to look
[8:03]
tonight at the different programs that
[8:05]
they're involved in
[8:07]
this is
[8:09]
ms taylor's first year
[8:11]
as director of the college and career
[8:13]
readiness program the program was
[8:14]
directed for several years by mr harold
[8:17]
helton
[8:19]
and
[8:20]
she applied for the position whenever he
[8:22]
retired and is doing a marvelous job and
[8:25]
i'm so pleased that you had students who
[8:27]
talked about their experiences
[8:29]
we're also pleased that the teachers
[8:31]
would be here because it's the teachers
[8:33]
in that program that make the difference
[8:35]
and we want to make certain that you
[8:37]
know how much we appreciate your work
[8:40]
that that you do
[8:42]
and it's really wide reaching
[8:43]
i see teachers who work in some of our
[8:45]
specialized program uh even with
[8:47]
adjudicated youth that come under their
[8:50]
department so it really does uh reach
[8:52]
every corner of the school district
[8:56]
mr birchman
[8:58]
yes mr percival miss fate and and
[9:01]
correct me if i'm wrong but for the most
[9:03]
part they're not tested subjects
[9:06]
that anybody in oklahoma city really
[9:08]
cares enough about to
[9:10]
test
[9:12]
but we teach we have an ff a chapter and
[9:15]
we teach culinary arts and we have
[9:18]
things that 10 000 of our students are
[9:20]
engaged in
[9:23]
but it's not important enough to test
[9:25]
anyway
[9:28]
i just wanted to make sure i was right
[9:30]
on that that is yeah our students do
[9:31]
take competency tests and walk out with
[9:33]
the certification that is highly
[9:35]
employable when they leave our programs
[9:37]
yeah but doesn't come into the state
[9:39]
testing program
[9:40]
yeah right that's what i mentioned yes
[9:42]
thank you so much thank you thank you
[9:44]
for having me we appreciate having you
[9:45]
here
[9:50]
okay we shall move into the much
[9:52]
anticipated long-awaited tps in the news
[9:56]
it has been an eventful couple of weeks
[9:58]
for tps in the news i apologize for my
[10:00]
voice but i'm still
[10:02]
a little bit under the weather but
[10:04]
getting over it february 5th was
[10:06]
national signing day and this year tulsa
[10:08]
public schools had 32 student athletes
[10:11]
and you can follow on the screen
[10:14]
signed to play football soccer
[10:15]
basketball and baseball at various
[10:17]
colleges around the country one of our
[10:19]
student
[10:20]
athletes memorial football player mike
[10:22]
juan dean was featured in the tulsa
[10:24]
world because of the adversity that he
[10:26]
overcame to make it to signing day long
[10:29]
story short mike wan moved in with the
[10:31]
classmate's family
[10:33]
who did help throughout school and with
[10:35]
that help he will be the first member of
[10:37]
his family to attend college it was a
[10:39]
very moving story
[10:41]
with the below freezing temperatures and
[10:43]
wintry precipitation
[10:44]
that we had earlier this month several
[10:46]
schools unfortunately saw very low
[10:48]
attendance on some days on one very
[10:51]
frigid day remington elementary teacher
[10:53]
micah davis told fox 23 that they did
[10:56]
make the best of the situation
[10:57]
teachers gave students projects and were
[10:59]
able to give them extra one-on-one time
[11:02]
which is always helpful in school
[11:04]
brotherhood fest returned on thursday to
[11:07]
thoreau demonstration school the
[11:09]
month-long celebration expands black
[11:11]
history month to include brotherhood
[11:14]
among all
[11:15]
the biggest part of brotherhood fest see
[11:17]
students recreate events
[11:19]
and people that had significant impacts
[11:21]
on american history for other students
[11:24]
the challenge was made more difficult
[11:25]
this year as teachers only handed groups
[11:28]
a historical photo or an illustration
[11:30]
and the students had to figure out
[11:32]
everything else from there that was also
[11:35]
a really good article
[11:36]
last week several students took to the
[11:38]
capitol in oklahoma city to encourage
[11:41]
lawmakers to prohibit
[11:43]
texting while driving
[11:46]
the students are members of generation
[11:48]
text which was started at booker t
[11:50]
washington four years ago and has now
[11:53]
expanded to other schools
[11:56]
the tulsa symphony orchestra performed
[11:58]
two concerts for students
[12:00]
at kendall whittier elementary recently
[12:03]
the orchestra who was one of the
[12:04]
school's partners in education worked
[12:07]
with teachers to have students create
[12:09]
artwork and poetry that was presented as
[12:12]
part of the concerts the students works
[12:14]
were also presented during the
[12:15]
orchestra's public performance that
[12:17]
weekend
[12:20]
three first grade classes at lee
[12:22]
elementary spent part of valentine's day
[12:25]
showing their love for helping others
[12:28]
the classes collected stuffed animals
[12:30]
blankets and coats for the parent child
[12:32]
center and on friday
[12:34]
60 or so of the students walked with
[12:36]
teachers and parents to the parent child
[12:38]
center to donate the items
[12:41]
half of the donated goods also went to
[12:43]
family and children's services so that's
[12:47]
all for this month's tps in the news
[12:52]
that would conclude the superintendent's
[12:54]
presentations thank you very much thank
[12:56]
you very much and again thank you all
[12:58]
for coming we really appreciate
[13:00]
everything that you do would it be out
[13:02]
of place to have those young
[13:04]
people come and shake our hands no not
[13:06]
at all the young people who present them
[13:08]
we would like for you to come up and
[13:09]
shake hands while you're making your way
[13:11]
up here let me make one thing perfectly
[13:13]
clear um you came here as our guest to
[13:16]
make your presentations we appreciate
[13:18]
that you're not obligated to stay for
[13:20]
the entire meeting we would
[13:22]
love to have you stay for the entire
[13:24]
meeting no one is obligated to do so
[14:55]
thank you all so very much again it was
[14:57]
a lovely presentation i hope hope you
[15:00]
got a chance to look in the back at all
[15:02]
of the wonderful things that they've
[15:03]
brought with them
[15:04]
at this time we'll move on and

[15:10]

pay as stated below for the following
[21:17]
schools anderson elementary burroughs
[21:19]
elementary gilchrist elementary
[21:21]
penn elementary springdale elementary
[21:24]
walt whitman elementary
[21:26]
dual language immersion mclean junior
[21:28]
high and mclean high for the main
[21:30]
remainder of the
[21:32]
2013-2014 school year
[21:34]
the cost is not to exceed sixteen
[21:36]
thousand dollars move approval
[21:39]
second motion's been made and seconded
[21:41]
any comments
[21:43]
i would ask uh chief human capital
[21:45]
officer talia schaal if she would
[21:47]
speak to the rationale behind this
[21:49]
michelle
[21:50]
thank you dr bauer president fate
[21:52]
members of the board
[21:53]
we are attempting to pilot what an
[21:55]
increase and substitute teacher pay
[21:58]
rates would do for our ability to fill
[22:01]
substitute vacancies teacher vacancies
[22:03]
and absences
[22:05]
this these are a sampling of the schools
[22:07]
that we usually have a hard time filling
[22:10]
with subs and our attempt is to increase
[22:13]
it and make it more attractive
[22:15]
to be able to improve our ability to
[22:18]
attract substitute teachers
[22:20]
it is
[22:22]
obviously
[22:23]
just a small effort because we would
[22:25]
like to do this across the board but we
[22:27]
want to see how effective this
[22:28]
investment in increasing teacher pay
[22:31]
rate for substitutes would do in this
[22:33]
case
[22:34]
our hope is that with this increase
[22:36]
actually we become the highest paid
[22:39]
with these schools will be the highest
[22:40]
paid rate across the county and will be
[22:43]
very competitive in in increasing our
[22:45]
number of substitute teachers so we are
[22:48]
specifically focusing on these schools
[22:49]
because of the difficulty that we have
[22:51]
staffing them
[22:54]
yes dr turner addison
[22:56]
i am actually pleased to see this agenda
[22:59]
item before us today we've talked about
[23:00]
it for a while in the human capital
[23:02]
meetings and many of these schools are
[23:04]
reside within my district
[23:06]
and although we've been having a hard
[23:08]
time filling this position i would
[23:11]
encourage people to really
[23:13]
you know
[23:15]
substitute teachers out there really
[23:17]
take on the assignment to help in these
[23:19]
schools that
[23:21]
many people often look at as second tier
[23:24]
there has been a lot of progress
[23:26]
in the schools in north tulsa
[23:28]
if you look at the data you can see that
[23:31]
not only look at one set of data but
[23:33]
look at the value-added data as well
[23:36]
i strongly encourage you to sign up and
[23:39]
be a substitute and get increasing pay
[23:42]
at one of these schools
[23:43]
on this list thank you
[23:47]
any other comments
[23:50]
call for the vote
[23:51]
miss uh gray elliott
[23:54]
aye aye aye motion carries
[24:01]

[24:18]

[24:49]
the united states to receive
[24:51]
the capstone the law diploma program by
[24:54]
the advanced board so i am proud to
[24:56]

[25:01]
questions and also g2 is a routine
[25:04]
item i'm available for any questions
[25:08]
yes dr goodson i don't really uh have a
[25:11]
question well i might as i go along but
[25:12]
i just want to say principal schmidt
[25:14]
congratulations to you and your team at
[25:17]
edison this is
[25:18]
really
[25:20]
something
[25:21]
that is an achievement and it's just
[25:23]
another tremendous opportunity for our
[25:26]
students in the edison district and our
[25:28]
students that come to edison for the
[25:30]
magnet program and superintendent
[25:32]
ballard i i just want to comment on this
[25:35]
is yet another
[25:37]
achievement that we have in the district
[25:39]
where we are somewhat unique within the
[25:42]
state and uh we are one of only 100
[25:45]
programs across the nation not that
[25:48]
different from our participation in
[25:50]
several bill and melinda gates cohorts
[25:52]
the us department of education grant
[25:54]
we've gotten and it just speaks to the
[25:57]
great work we're doing across the
[25:58]
district and a rising tide raises all
[26:00]
ships so i'm i'm really proud of edison
[26:04]
and uh really appreciative of your
[26:06]
effort to you and your team for um
[26:10]
developing your program to the point
[26:11]
where we're able to participate in this
[26:13]
congratulations
[26:20]
dr ballard president school board
[26:22]
members e3 is the recommendation to
[26:25]
purchase
[26:26]
expert readers products from catapult
[26:28]
learning for
[26:29]
the 2013-14 school year for scaly upper
[26:33]
elementary
[26:37]
good evening item g4 is a routine um
[26:40]
item it's to enter into a facilities
[26:42]
usage agreement with the university of
[26:44]
tulsa to house the high school kravis
[26:47]
summer arts camp any questions i'll be
[26:49]
happy to
[26:50]
answer before i move on to g5 through g6
[26:54]
i would like to follow up on the
[26:55]
comments
[26:58]
by dr goodson and i really
[27:00]
derek would you please stand derek smith
[27:02]
is the principal of edison high school
[27:04]
and he's doing a great job there we
[27:06]
appreciate you
[27:12]
g5 and g6 will be presented by chief
[27:15]
financial officer
[27:16]
ms trish williams ms williams thank you
[27:18]
dr ballard mrs fate members of the board
[27:21]
item g5 is a recommendation to approve
[27:24]
the amended school budget for the
[27:25]
current year
[27:27]
this item does not have the dollar
[27:28]
amounts listed they were not completed
[27:30]
uh by the
[27:32]
deadline for the filing of the item
[27:35]
we will be re viewing the budget
[27:37]
amendment with the finance committee
[27:39]
tomorrow and we'll bring that back to
[27:41]
the full board for a recommendation
[27:44]
item g6 is a recommendation to approve
[27:47]
the sanctioning of a number of
[27:49]
organizations that have submitted their
[27:51]
applications in accordance with with
[27:53]
board policy
[27:55]
5707 and i'd be glad to answer any
[27:58]
questions on either of those items
[28:04]
yes dr turner addison on item g6 i'm
[28:07]
pleased to see a couple of schools on
[28:09]
here dual language immersion pta
[28:10]
mclean's seventh grade pta yes one of
[28:13]
the things we continue to talk about is
[28:15]
how important it is to increase parental
[28:17]
engagement however there's a number of
[28:19]
schools who don't have ptas can you just
[28:22]
share with us the process and what are
[28:24]
some
[28:25]
potential barriers that keep some
[28:27]
schools from actually forming the pta
[28:29]
getting the reports in
[28:30]
sure i'd be happy to
[28:32]
we have this information that we share
[28:34]
with our principals through the
[28:35]
leadership
[28:37]
packet
[28:38]
with respect to how to go through the
[28:40]
sanctioning process
[28:42]
we have an application we try to make it
[28:45]
uh
[28:46]
not overwhelming for any organization
[28:48]
but there are certain pieces of
[28:50]
information that we do need to have for
[28:52]
our files we review those applications
[28:54]
uh make sure we have a bank statement
[28:57]
and the
[28:59]
various documents that they're required
[29:01]
to submit we do ask that they attend one
[29:04]
evening training for sanctioned
[29:05]
organizations
[29:07]
but other than that we we work with
[29:09]
principals and work with our our booster
[29:12]
clubs and our parent-teacher
[29:13]
organizations uh to help them through
[29:16]
the process to
[29:17]
be sanctioned to operate outside the
[29:19]
board of education
[29:23]
i think for the most part that does
[29:25]
answer my question but i really would
[29:27]
like to see an increased level of ptas
[29:31]
in in our schools and in district 3 it's
[29:34]
not where it should be
[29:35]
so
[29:36]
thank you
[29:44]
moving on g7 uh through well are you
[29:47]
going to introduce mr lebaster yes items
[29:49]
g7 through g10 are submitted by mr
[29:52]
lebaster in the bond services department
[29:54]
i'll ask him to speak to those
[29:57]
thank you miss williams dr ballard
[29:59]
president members of the board we have
[30:01]
four items on the bond agenda tonight uh
[30:04]
three of them are change orders uh the
[30:06]
first being a change order not to exceed
[30:09]
ten thousand a deduct order uh
[30:11]
recognizing the closing of the project
[30:13]
over at disney so we came out with a
[30:15]
little money on that finally uh change
[30:18]
order eight
[30:19]
was to add shades to uh
[30:23]
let's go macarthur
[30:26]
clinton kerr lindbergh and memorial
[30:28]
where we just finished windows and we
[30:30]
added some additional shades for their
[30:32]
products for their windows
[30:34]
item g9 is for the new telephone system
[30:37]
uh not to exceed two million dollars it
[30:40]
is working on that project and we'll
[30:41]
have a
[30:43]
uh total cost
[30:45]
by the consent agenda next time
[30:47]
uh item g10 is for window replacements
[30:51]
over at
[30:53]
macarthur where we are putting in some
[30:55]
additional
[30:57]
safety screens and open windows
[31:00]
operable windows in the kitchen area be
[31:02]
happy to answer any questions
[31:06]
very good
[31:09]
thank you mr lebas
[31:11]
items g11 through g23
[31:15]
will be presented by our chief
[31:17]
information and operations officer mr
[31:19]
ben stout
[31:20]
president fate has made me aware that we
[31:22]
do have a speaker who has signed up for
[31:24]
g19
[31:26]
so when we come to g19 and you introduce
[31:28]
that mr stout we will have a speaker for
[31:30]
that thank you dr ballard president fate
[31:33]
members of the board
[31:35]
items g 11 through 23 for the most part
[31:37]
are routine in nature and they're
[31:39]
related to federal e-rate funding
[31:41]
program
[31:42]
and they support miscellaneous
[31:44]
technology services and maintenance
[31:47]
item g19 is not routine in nature
[31:50]
item g19 is an agreement to provide an
[31:52]
alternative cng fueling station on an as
[31:55]
needed basis while the existing fuel
[31:57]
infrastructure is being updated i'd be
[31:59]
happy to answer any questions you may
[32:01]
have
[32:02]
president fate
[32:04]
yes mr purcell um
[32:08]
with respect to item g19 most of you are
[32:12]
well familiar that i'm very involved
[32:14]
with northeast waste solutions a company
[32:16]
that's listed in this agenda item
[32:18]
while i have no financial interest in
[32:21]
this particular
[32:22]
uh
[32:23]
scenario at all
[32:25]
i feel kind of uncomfortable even being
[32:27]
here during the discussion of this and i
[32:29]
think it's all appropriate there's no
[32:30]
problems whatsoever but if you don't
[32:33]
mind i'm going to excuse myself this
[32:35]
time
[32:36]
and
[32:39]
we'll call you back in well
[32:53]
caller speaker
[32:55]
yes ready for mr tom sewell
[32:59]
you just signed up uh you will get five
[33:02]
minutes
[33:04]
thank you um what i wanted to
[33:07]
kind of explain is this compressed
[33:09]
natural gas steel you know we have
[33:10]
compressors that we make the gas with
[33:12]
you guys have two compressors that are
[33:13]
seriously down one of them's completely
[33:15]
down
[33:16]
and the other one is in a big
[33:17]
intermittent problem it can go down in
[33:20]
any minute
[33:21]
so that's putting you guys into the
[33:23]
public fleet of field stations and
[33:25]
there's four of them and with your buses
[33:27]
when you go to the public fleet that
[33:29]
makes those stations and i own several
[33:31]
of them running at 100 wide open
[33:34]
throttle
[33:35]
all it takes is one of them to have a
[33:36]
problem which we did during the ice and
[33:39]
snow
[33:40]
and you then it carries back to you guys
[33:42]
have serious problems
[33:44]
um
[33:45]
this station that new solutions has are
[33:47]
actually our own it's on new solutions
[33:49]
property has enough capacity to fill 100
[33:52]
of your fleet every day
[33:54]
so i don't know how to encourage you or
[33:56]
i don't understand the politics of
[33:58]
everything
[33:59]
how to get this moved up to uh
[34:02]
to a voting item it's a pretty minor
[34:05]
deal with this whole harmless
[34:07]
but
[34:09]
just for redundancy we have zero
[34:11]
redundancy right now today
[34:14]
on the fueling of your buses
[34:16]
and this would give you 100 redundancy
[34:19]
instantly
[34:20]
by um
[34:23]
you know this agreement
[34:25]
and what and basically what they're
[34:27]
needing to do is it's my field station
[34:29]
but the miller family and the new
[34:31]
solutions are needing this whole
[34:33]
harmless with the school system to be
[34:35]
able to have the vehicles on their
[34:36]
property
[34:38]
and
[34:38]
if you guys have any other questions
[34:40]
about the process
[34:42]
i'd be willing to i'd be glad to answer
[34:44]
the whole deal
[34:46]
i'm sorry mr sewell uh the board does
[34:48]
not participate when we have someone
[34:51]
speaking okay thank you we can deal with
[34:53]
that later if you want to do that on one however i i can uh uh interact
[34:59]
and i will just say this mr newell that
[35:00]
if you have some solution that you would
[35:02]
like for the school district to consider
[35:06]
you would need to see mr ben stout who's
[35:08]
our chief information and operations
[35:11]
officer and you could contact his office
[35:14]
or perhaps see him after the meeting and set an appointment
[35:19]
so that you could talk with him and we
[35:20]
thank you for coming to the meeting and
[35:21]
speaking tonight thank you
[35:28]
now mr stout remind me did you go
[35:30]
through g23
[35:32]
yes i've covered them
[35:34]
that would uh conclude the presentation
[35:36]
of the information agenda president
[35:38]
faith
[35:39]
all right while we open it up for board
[35:43]
member reports and concerns
[35:46]
dr goodson's going to go and retrieve mr
[35:49]
percival he just thought he got out
[35:51]
early he didn't get out early
[35:54]
did he leave
[35:58]
at this time do we have any board member
[36:00]
reports and concerns
[36:04]
other than the fact that he may have
[36:05]
left
[36:07]
he left
[36:14]
well this time i want to remind the
[36:16]
board members that if you don't have i
[36:18]
had something
[36:20]
okay let me finish if you don't have
[36:22]
march uh the sixth on your calendar
[36:25]
that will be our district 4 oss va
[36:29]
meeting
[36:30]
and if you need
[36:32]
some of the
[36:34]
credit hours you if you come to this
[36:36]
meeting you get
[36:39]
a credit hour on state and federal laws
[36:41]
and their impact on school districts
[36:44]
educational issues impacting local
[36:46]
school districts and legal issues and
[36:49]
then two of continuing education so if
[36:51]
you've not signed up yet if you'll let
[36:53]
miss
[36:55]
young know why we will be meeting
[36:58]
at the charles page high school
[36:59]
performing arts building
[37:01]
so be sure and get that on your calendar
[37:04]
yes dr turner addison
[37:07]
just given my routine update regarding
[37:09]
mclean parent enrichment education
[37:11]
center we have furniture in and we're
[37:13]
looking to have an open house by the end
[37:15]
of the month or the 1st of march i know
[37:18]
february is super busy but
[37:21]
want to schedule a date in which dr
[37:23]
ballard will be there
[37:25]
so i look forward to inviting everyone
[37:27]
at a future meeting thank you
[37:30]
any other
[37:35]
all right we have no other citizen
[37:37]
comments
[37:39]
superintendent's report
[37:44]
i only have one item that i wanted to
[37:47]
bring to the board's attention and it's
[37:50]
a very sad note that that i announced to
[37:54]
the board
[37:55]
that recently our beloved nancy feldman
[37:58]
has passed away
[38:00]
nancy was one of the best supporters for
[38:02]
the arts
[38:03]
the school district has ever had
[38:05]
on a personal note i had not been
[38:07]
superintendent in
[38:09]
at tps very long at all and one of my
[38:12]
first visitors
[38:13]
to my office was nancy feldman and uh
[38:16]
what what a great lady and i just would
[38:18]
like to
[38:19]
recognize her many contributions
[38:22]
uh where the arts were concerned to
[38:25]
tulsa public schools that's the only
[38:27]
item i have tonight
[38:29]
she really didn't make a difference in
[38:32]
starting our fine arts and making sure
[38:34]
that that did not get lost
[38:38]
all right any any other reports
[38:40]
all right
[38:42]
any other non-routine items requiring
[38:44]
board action and i have two
[38:48]
a motion
[38:49]
to
[38:50]
enter into a resignation agreement with
[38:52]
belinda baldwin and to authorize its
[38:54]
execution by the board president and
[38:56]
board clerk
[38:57]
mr mann would you care to make any
[38:59]
comments on that
[39:01]
this is a
[39:03]
resignation agreement that has been
[39:06]
negotiated and the
[39:09]
superintendent and human kept relevant
[39:11]
folks in human capital have reviewed it
[39:14]
and recommend its adoption by the board
[39:18]
move approval
[39:20]
motion motion's been made and seconded
[39:23]
any comments
[39:25]
call for the vote
[39:34]
the second is a also a resignation
[39:37]
agreement with angela
[39:39]
mclemore and to authorize its execution
[39:42]
by the board president and board clerk
[39:44]
again mr man anything we need to know
