[0:23] minutes to adopt under 3.1 uh special

[0:30] councelor Pearson second by councelor
[0:32] mullik are there any errors or omissions
[0:36] arising all in favor carried and the
[0:40] minutes of the regular meeting
[0:42] being February 11th 2025 mve by
[0:46] councelor bat second by councelor
[0:47] Pearson any errors or emissions arising
[0:50] all in favor carried under 4.1 we do
[0:55] have time this or we do have a
[0:56] delegation this evening from the vmont
[0:58] community Forest here to present the
[1:00] 2024 financial report and the 2025
[1:03] Financial forecast is Miss C valz and
[1:07] Angy
[1:09] Jackman Madame
[1:11] President please come up to the
[1:16] podium so I'd just like to uh introduce
[1:19] Kina to you Holly and Hugo I don't think
[1:21] you've met but I think she's met and
[1:23] Carina as well and uh it's my pleasure
[1:27] to introduce Kina and uh we've been been
[1:30] so impressed with her uh her she's so
[1:34] qualified and competent and she's been
[1:37] helping us sort through a lot of very
[1:39] thorny issues and really uh making
[1:43] Headway for us and I can't tell you it
[1:46] how much we appreciate her help and uh
[1:50] you'll see for yourself how brilliant
[1:52] she
[1:52] is wow not true but okay thank you I'll
[1:56] take it it's quite the introduction it
[2:00] is yeah now I'm like now I'm
[2:03] stressed um so that's not going to be
[2:05] too long we'll just quickly um do an
[2:07] overview of the 2024
[2:10] financials um figure this
[2:13] out so I have few slides first we'll
[2:16] cover just the total revenue um how much
[2:19] money we've generated in
[2:21] 2024 um then we'll kind of break down
[2:24] into operational costs other costs total
[2:26] income and then quick um just the
[2:29] financial forecast for for next year
[2:31] although warning it's going to be quite
[2:34] difficult to predict we don't we don't
[2:38] know what's going to happen in 2025 with
[2:41] the tariffs and where we going to land
[2:44] but if we keep going the way we were
[2:47] going in the past then we should be
[2:50] pretty much in the same situation as um
[2:54] in
[2:56] 2024 so we um last year we've generated
[2:59] ated uh just over $9 million um
[3:02] obviously mostly was from um our log
[3:05] sales to the Ms and then then there was
[3:08] a little bit from I believe this was
[3:11] just some money returned to us from
[3:13] overpayments or or something like that
[3:15] but it does count towards towards our
[3:18] income um wow this is really hard to see
[3:22] so the operational costs um we um have
[3:26] Forest license which is about
[3:28] $36,000 sorry you guys this is actually
[3:31] really brutal I kind of figured it's
[3:33] going to be hard to see on that slide um
[3:35] log purchases uh about
[3:38] $76,000 post harv post Harvest
[3:42] obligations which include pile burning
[3:44] and waste and residue uh last year that
[3:47] was
[3:48] $117,000 um we also shipped wood uh just
[3:54] during the breakup to the mill to our
[3:57] yard so just paying for the log yard um
[4:01] it cost us about
[4:04] $162,000 we paid
[4:06] $215,000 in
[4:08] stampage uh planning uh which includes
[4:12] layout um ribbon refresh and mapping uh
[4:16] that was at
[4:19] $217,000 Trucking and Hauling that's um
[4:23] additional to usually we pay our loggers
[4:26] for Trucking in Holland this was
[4:29] separate this was basically us paying
[4:31] the truckers for reloading the wood so
[4:33] once it came to the yard it had to go
[4:36] back out to the Mills to our clients and
[4:38] that cost us about
[4:40] $300,000 um just over 300,000 our silver
[4:44] culture cost uh was uh just over half a
[4:46] million
[4:48] dollars uh Road cost expenses this
[4:51] includes um Road rehabilitation
[4:54] deactivation road maintenance which is
[4:56] grading um and also road construction is
[5:00] it's quite a bit of money and um just to
[5:04] point out that's going to get harder as
[5:07] we go higher up into the mountains um
[5:10] into steeper terrain um more challenging
[5:13] ground um and then our logging
[5:15] contractors uh just over $5 million so
[5:19] the total operational costs were almost
[5:23] 8
[5:28] million um other costs
[5:33] um included the payroll of 300 just over
[5:37] $300,000 General
[5:40] Administration um was
[5:43] $247,000 grants um about
[5:48] $111,000 uh we paid uh just over $5,000
[5:51] in
[5:52] donations uh $4,000 for the board
[5:56] discretionary fund and then scale
[5:58] expenses uh were at
[6:01] $227,000 so our other expenses were just
[6:05] over a, $600,000 so just over a million
[6:19] dollars and so the financial forecast
[6:22] for um next year it's pretty much the
[6:26] same about we're hoping to make about $9
[6:28] million in Reven Vues log sales um our
[6:32] costs are going to increase this year
[6:34] again due to um more challenging terrain
[6:37] so we we will be looking at more cable
[6:40] ground um with that logging costs are
[6:44] significantly higher because you know
[6:46] you're using different machines um
[6:49] yarding um also the Productions are
[6:52] usually slower in in those areas so
[6:55] we're probably looking at you know just
[6:58] over $7,000
[7:01] um our other
[7:02] expenses uh would include you know our
[7:06] salaries uh administrative
[7:08] stuff um so we're probably looking at
[7:12] about 600,000 we're hoping to make about
[7:15] $600,000 now that being said it is
[7:19] quite what's going to change this this
[7:23] number actually may be a little bit
[7:25] higher because I what what we're doing
[7:28] right now is actually we are pred
[7:29] developing a lot more road so we might
[7:33] be I don't want to make promises but we
[7:35] might be looking at maybe closer to like
[7:40] $800,000 um in in generating uh in total
[7:45] net income um but that may change it
[7:49] will depend on like you know First
[7:51] Nations um if the referrals are back and
[7:54] given to us um and the weather of course
[8:00] it's the weather because um you know we
[8:02] are our challenges right now is that we
[8:04] don't actually have a lot of Summer
[8:06] ground so a lot of our logging happens
[8:09] through the winter um if we have you
[8:13] know a bad fire season that you know all
[8:16] those areas that are available for the
[8:18] summer you can't log them because of um
[8:21] fire danger so that's always challenging
[8:24] but winter is looking pretty good um on our planning this year so
[8:30] um this is the hope uh you know it might happen that we you know don't
[8:34] sell as many logs um you know due
[8:37] to what's available on the land base
[8:40] based on the weather uh but you know we
[8:43] won't be spending as much money in Road
[8:46] building road maintenance and what have
[8:47] you so that bottom number should be
[8:49] around we should be generating anywhere
[8:52] between 6 to
[8:55] 800,000 but it's it's it is hard to
[8:58] predict because of a lot of other
[9:01] unknowns but that's kind of the hope so
[9:04] thank you so much that's all I have do
[9:06] you guys have any
[9:07] questions thank you motion to receive
[9:10] move by councelor Blanchett second by
[9:12] councelor mullik questions for the
[9:13] delegation councelor Pearson uh quick
[9:16] question can you back up one slide you
[9:17] went by the net net revenue pretty quick
[9:21] yeah that's kind of repetitive it's just
[9:23] like total revenue um so it just it
[9:26] shows that's 2024 yeah and I kind of
[9:30] covered that in the first slide but it
[9:32] it's just a breakdown like what was the our net income and then you can see
[9:37] um our so net income um was just over
[9:44] $600,000 and that's based on the $9
[9:46] million that we've generated uh in log
[9:49] sales and then our expenses
[9:51] were pretty much like around 78 million
[9:55] so sorry I just that's why I skip wait a
[9:59] minute
[10:00] Qui
[10:01] so okay it's all for me no great
[10:06] anybody well thank you very much Kina uh
