[0:26]
Okay, so let's call on.
[0:29]
You have to be responsible for the regime that I have just as a model.
[0:37]
I look to make a motion to add to the general one of the discussion of our 9 and
[0:43]
VLU meeting in the second tonight. It was that superintendent VLU, VLU comments to the current.
[0:53]
Thank you.
[0:55]
On the very good.
[0:58]
There's two those first. So in the right there, we have a word that is made in half of the
[1:05]
house of work. Like what's time to say we've done uh show it and that is the rate that is
[1:16]
short.
[1:18]
So it can't read, so it can't read uh of the night. But I don't know if that worked because
[1:25]
everybody. Good night. There's an agenda. So the eight could work. The ages three say sorry.
[1:32]
Thank you.
[1:35]
Thank you.
[1:36]
Thank you.
[1:37]
Thank you.
[1:39]
We'll certainly be in September.
[1:46]
8th.
[1:51]
And then we want to do this again in comments for board members.
[1:58]
Yeah.
[1:59]
For the board comments and a little later than we've seen.
[2:06]
and from the wills of funding.
[2:11]
So everybody has to call me and that will be added
[2:17]
to the dance.
[2:18]
I have a person that I can tell this is the first time
[2:23]
that I can see my better own dance like that.
[2:26]
So I don't get to know about that,
[2:30]
but I really do want to respond.
[2:33]
For many of the stuff that they are asking for,
[2:38]
for this course, and that was last meeting.
[2:40]
So,
[2:42]
I
[2:46]
think I'm very, very ready for the
[2:49]
coming of the school year, starting next week.
[2:52]
I am aware of the new teachers
[2:54]
where the meeting today and they have paid open houses
[2:59]
for the freshman or for the years students
[3:02]
and the middle school, and then in this way,
[3:05]
so a lot of me events have been in here.
[3:08]
I know of course we have the next floor for our new days for next week,
[3:15]
completed from six to eight years from around 12 to eight to eight to eight to five.
[3:20]
I got. Okay. So great. I don't have.
[3:29]
I just have a few things. One is, as I said,
[3:33]
if you do with this meeting, I do want to thank the public.
[3:37]
We are talking about employees that even though people think we're quiet in the summer,
[3:41]
Our 12-month employees was maybe small in number, but there's a tremendous amount of work that goes on in the summer.
[3:48]
And with all our 12-month employees, they're doing very different things.
[3:52]
So I do want to thank them.
[3:53]
Everyone from our, and I'll publicly thank our historians that if you aren't in any of our buildings,
[3:59]
it's amazing where we're going to be ready to go.
[4:03]
Working around heat, humidity, staffing, people that need access to the buildings.
[4:10]
our trauma. Other trauma employees that are working working around that to make sure
[4:14]
those are ready to go. So, to Greg and his team, I can't thank you enough. I know you
[4:18]
do this every year. It was probably old comments, but it's well deserved to do in your
[4:24]
team. Thank you. So, our administrators, again, I know you've got a little bit of time here
[4:30]
and there's got the summer to recharge and resume, but clearly not enough. Your hours and
[4:36]
hours of work do not go and notice to be ready for next week. I know that we have yet another summer
[4:43]
of some challenges that we've had to face and overcome. Little bit different this year than last year,
[4:49]
but certainly your efforts do not go out of notice either. So, to demonstrate your's here,
[4:54]
I've missed your's online and those that are not with us, thank you for all your hard work,
[4:59]
we would need to finish line and ready to go next week without you. So Becca, I can't
[5:04]
to begin to thank you. The work that you do day in and day out. Sometimes just just your presence
[5:11]
is what keeps me going. Sometimes it's just in here without even a response and sometimes it's just
[5:17]
a thought partner that just has that that word of advice and that thought that just says how we
[5:23]
thought about this and it just throws me forward so again I know you've got a little bit of time
[5:29]
coming up, not, but thank you for all the work this summer and getting us ready to go.
[5:36]
I know Alba mentioned new teachers back at the bridge out today,
[5:40]
in organizing and coordinating new teacher orientation,
[5:43]
teaching feedback from last year and cadets, it took one day,
[5:47]
that we did work with them, and then the second day tomorrow they,
[5:51]
or we heard from people us one time in the building and in their classrooms.
[5:55]
So that's what we did. The afternoon today was spent on the story of the circle of training and the story of the practice and so that I think you're up here to be a really great day.
[6:05]
Andrew and his tech team.
[6:07]
I can see again, small team for the technology that we have in our district.
[6:18]
Incredible work that they do every single summer ready to go right up to the last minute.
[6:23]
And I know next week will be a lot of bumps for you to overcome as people have come up in the passwords, forgotten where their computers are.
[6:30]
Where this course goes, where that work goes, and other stuff, because she knows what it will be like and her own building next week.
[6:37]
Andrew and team, thank you.
[6:40]
And above all, I just wanted to thank, but lately I know there are not a lot of people who aren't even present, but I have worked saying the thing that recording will be there.
[6:48]
Thank you for our community for patients, patients this summer, patients as we continue to work through challenges. It's never easy, but your patients does not go on notice by me, by our team patients to our board.
[7:06]
You know, you're my right hand, my left hand. I can't thank you enough. So I don't want to close with that. I have one last thing I want to say, but thank you to you and your patients.
[7:19]
And to our graduates of 2026, as you are about to venture off into new challenges,
[7:24]
some of you already have whether that's been the military work or post high school college plans.
[7:32]
I wish you nothing but the best of luck. The future is bright for every single one of you.
[7:36]
I know that you're off to break things and wish you nothing but the best.
[7:40]
That's how I cook my coffee.
[7:41]
Thank you.
[7:45]
Okay.
[7:46]
So we have a community recommendation.
[7:48]
Yeah.
[7:49]
That sounds like really.
[7:51]
I
[7:54]
think this is on.
[7:56]
So this is one that we have not had the pleasure of recognizing.
[8:01]
I think it's a first for us.
[8:03]
But certainly many of you have probably heard throughout the summer.
[8:06]
We had something different this year that we have not been able to do.
[8:10]
And it's because of one single person that took an initiative
[8:14]
and it took a vision, took a passion and brought it to life.
[8:18]
And tonight I want to recognize that person.
[8:21]
And it's not because she did it all,
[8:24]
but it's because she took something
[8:26]
that she had a dream for and a passion,
[8:30]
and she put her own financial dollars to work,
[8:35]
hundreds and hundreds of dollars,
[8:37]
organized, recruited student athletes, parents,
[8:41]
and put together a summer basketball league for many of our girls that would not have had an opportunity.
[8:48]
And that is Michelle Singh.
[8:50]
She actually spent her own money to put together a team that played W2C at the day hill dome.
[8:57]
If you didn't have the pleasure or the good fortune to go, I might do several of them. I miss a few.
[9:02]
So they played against some pretty high ranking division 1 teams, great competition, girls
[9:10]
that played together, some of them played together here, but the combination of what you saw
[9:15]
on the court was really incredible.
[9:18]
Girls coming together that weren't always on the court together when they played here.
[9:23]
It was just an amazing event to see just about one hour in duration and you'll remember
[9:29]
you were there almost all day as a lot. But Michelle, I just want to publicly thank you for
[9:36]
everything you get to make your vision, your dream come to life. I know I have a great
[9:41]
good fortune of being there and seeing it in action. Thank you so much. I do want you to come up,
[9:46]
you're happy, just a small token of appreciation and thanks on behalf of the board and our entire
[9:50]
community. Thank you for having me. Talk to you soon. Talk to you soon.
[10:28]
Congratulations on taking part in the program.
[10:32]
You're ready to prove how you want us to say about it.
[10:36]
Okay,
[10:39]
so we have a little bit of it.
[10:43]
One, two, and one, one, one, one, one, one, one, one, one, one.
[10:48]
You're not seeing it.
[10:50]
Oh, okay.
[10:52]
So we have a group of the menace for our last,
[11:02]
I want to mention during the meeting of Augusta said we say that we just want to correct
[11:16]
that we really have control, we have control over line items on the budget.
[11:22]
We normally look at the line items, but the budget is first presented to us and then
[11:28]
as interruptions happen, we don't really go back into the like items, we just go with
[11:35]
their recommendation of the registration, as they have looked at those like items.
[11:40]
Or we get access to that, just questions during those first few meetings for the point
[11:48]
is presented before we go into the moral bias to send them, and that is also accessible
[11:55]
involved to everyone on how it was and what I do in the correction. So we have any questions
[12:03]
for you. I moved up the board of education and approved the minutes of the August 3rd,
[12:09]
2022 special meeting and the August 5th, 2022 special meeting.
[12:13]
Yes, thank you.
[12:14]
And on a failure, we
[12:22]
have a lot of research that is before.
[12:26]
That's all I'll go through this on page 12.
[12:29]
You're back and then I think I have one addition that just came
[12:31]
moments before that I will accrued in this.
[12:33]
That's not printed in your packet.
[12:35]
There are several reservations this evening.
[12:38]
One is Melissa Allen.
[12:39]
Science teacher.
[12:40]
A lot of Facebook designed effective August 25th.
[12:44]
At the time of her resignation, she will have surfaced into
[12:49]
and special education teacher,
[12:50]
it was a lot of high school design effective set number 14.
[12:54]
At her time, the University of Michigan
[12:55]
grades will serve the students of Windsor, Oxford three years.
[12:59]
Margaret Ellington and teacher at cell elementary school
[13:01]
letters designed from her position effective August 5th.
[13:04]
At the time of her residence,
[13:05]
she will serve the students of Windsor, Oxford one year.
[13:08]
Karen Gragaski,
[13:09]
the special education teacher itself,
[13:11]
elementary school is designed
[13:12]
from her position effective August 5th.
[13:15]
At the time of her residence,
[13:16]
vaccination carried will serve the students of Windsor, Oxford nine years, and the addition
[13:20]
has been Carol, the special education teacher at Windsor, Oxford Middle School, resigning
[13:25]
effective September 18th, the time of his resignation, he will serve the students of
[13:29]
Windsor, Oxford two years.
[13:31]
I
[13:36]
think that the Board of Education accepts Miss Adams, Miss Canons, Miss Ellington, Miss
[13:41]
Perkowspees, and Mr. Carol's observations effective as outlined above and offer our sincere
[13:47]
appreciation for their service to the ones that allow students.
[13:52]
On my favor.
[13:54]
All right.
[14:02]
Thanks for being with me.
[14:04]
I'm the one that I'm directed on with those services.
[14:08]
Yes. So this evening had the pleasure of presenting before you are selected.
[14:13]
Can you wait for your potential appointment?
[14:16]
Mr. Jeff Laurenti.
[14:18]
As the Director of People Services.
[14:20]
as Jeff went through three rounds of interviews.
[14:23]
Those interviews consisted of stakeholder interview round
[14:26]
of round one, a leadership and board chair interviewing round two,
[14:31]
and then a third and final round interview
[14:32]
with the PTS department at the administrative level
[14:36]
along with the central office administrator.
[14:39]
Out of that, he survived all three of those
[14:43]
and came out as certainly an experienced director.
[14:46]
He has 11 years experience in Massachusetts
[14:48]
and two districts on the Director of the PPS,
[14:51]
the most recently served as a Director
[14:53]
at a Connecticut private social education program.
[14:56]
And the great news it is,
[14:57]
here at a point where you can begin tomorrow.
[15:00]
With us ending your appointment this evening. He is with us. I don't know, Jack, if you want to say a few words to the board before they make a formal votes, but you're certainly welcome to. Yes, I've had 11 years as a special director. I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow when you're approval for another 11 in Connecticut.
[15:24]
Thank you.
[15:27]
You'll see it.
[15:30]
Do we need to boost that abortion?
[15:32]
Yeah.
[15:32]
Yeah.
[15:38]
So I move that.
[15:41]
You approved the appointment of Director of People Services.
[15:44]
Yes, and I've got the last thing for.
[15:46]
For.
[15:47]
For.
[15:51]
All in favor.
[15:53]
Time.
[15:54]
Welcome to.
[15:55]
Winston Lux.
[15:56]
Thank you.
[15:57]
Thank you very much.
[16:04]
And
[16:07]
then we have the key and the cost convention with November.
[16:13]
Yeah, we've got a year package.
[16:15]
We'll leave you guys early registration.
[16:18]
There's a little bit of a discount.
[16:19]
The dates are November 20th and 1st,
[16:22]
which I think will be continues to be up Friday in a Saturday.
[16:25]
There's a two day one day option as well.
[16:27]
Well, just if you check the calendars and you're interested in giving them an album or a
[16:32]
baton and low-director, we'll get you registered.
[16:35]
So that's just information for you to have the name active on.
[16:40]
And then we need to decide for the school, like, we need some people, if we are going to
[16:46]
take the same ones that we have, or do we work to change?
[16:58]
I'm going to make the ice cool for me.
[17:00]
Yeah, that's fine.
[17:01]
It doesn't
[17:07]
matter to me.
[17:08]
I have the nose roll.
[17:09]
If somebody wants the switch, I'm fine.
[17:12]
Either way.
[17:18]
We don't want you to laugh at us.
[17:22]
What's the wrong thing?
[17:23]
or what's your opinion?
[17:25]
No, I think I got a soul.
[17:27]
Oh, okay.
[17:28]
Okay, one, two, seven,
[17:30]
seven, how about the style?
[17:33]
Then do you want to keep middle,
[17:34]
or would you rather go somewhere else?
[17:37]
Okay.
[17:39]
Do you have any sense of value without doubt?
[17:41]
I have a question.
[17:47]
I don't know.
[17:48]
I can keep it the way it is,
[17:49]
unless you want to fill it in.
[17:51]
So, I'm not so kidding.
[17:57]
And this is,
[17:58]
and this is,
[18:01]
I would take a sound to sound to the right, or to sound to the right, and we have some
[18:10]
policies that we have in the civil reading of probably, or I mean, I can follow through
[18:19]
I love what changes are in civil reading, I do not have any questions.
[18:23]
So 1330 civil facility use, that's probably the one of the most changes in your packet.
[18:27]
This was the one that we talked about three, a bunch of process that really means making some work and Larry and Greg spend an expensive amount of time looking at this, working on this.
[18:38]
There is some language in there that does allow us as a board to do a general review of this and there are moving great tables in there.
[18:48]
So that is a new packet for a second reading of the testability approval this evening.
[18:53]
I have a question, of course, group A. I should fear no fee was crossed out of all groups.
[19:01]
Yeah, that was fun and full in building all of them.
[19:04]
Right, but group A is not clear to move that if group A is using a facility very normal
[19:10]
working hours or Monday to Friday, that they will not be charged, or will they be charged,
[19:16]
right?
[19:17]
Not clearly.
[19:18]
Yeah.
[19:19]
Greg, do you, I know you and I talked about this a little bit.
[19:22]
group A, it was more about priority of abuse, not so much speed and speed, right?
[19:26]
Yeah, we just said so group A would have priority over group B and group C, so it's more so with that,
[19:31]
but I mean, Greg can make a valid point, but those are all school driven things.
[19:36]
So we kept group B as a group, so they would know that if that's it, you know, they want to do
[19:41]
something B and C even if they're paying us, would it take questions over them? I believe it was the
[19:46]
My second group A are school-related groups,
[19:50]
which will have a concern.
[19:52]
So that's a, okay, I'll finish with.
[19:54]
Yeah, and then.
[19:56]
I have to comment on all your aid.
[19:58]
If it's during hours, the biggest thing
[20:03]
with the structure is to keep in mind,
[20:07]
is that we have incur custodial expense.
[20:11]
We don't have a budget that allows us
[20:14]
to her, in her additional facility
[20:17]
that stands without charging whoever's causing that
[20:21]
type of thing.
[20:23]
And we met with the last fright,
[20:28]
and that was the last fright.
[20:31]
And convey that message to that.
[20:33]
It's not about charging, parking,
[20:36]
wreck.
[20:37]
It's just more within hours that rain
[20:40]
has the silence here.
[20:41]
We can accommodate.
[20:42]
It's when you sustainable things outside of those powers, when there's extra fees, those fees have to be picked up by some body.
[20:52]
Like Saturday, what if there's no one else?
[20:54]
Yeah.
[20:55]
And we talked about basketball in particular.
[20:58]
It's very present to me with us as well.
[21:01]
We talked about basketball and they reassured us that he's got plenty of time to come here until basketball starts to be scheduled out.
[21:08]
And we talked specifically about that in the Saturdays.
[21:12]
So he said he did work around within that instruction.
[21:20]
So for people to have a various individual meetings or events this whole year,
[21:27]
who we go back and tell them that they have to pay.
[21:31]
So after that, I go to the first call, I said, I'm updating this after school.
[21:38]
But if your meetings are during the week,
[21:39]
and they want the out of the stoken all in here correctly.
[21:43]
Correct.
[21:43]
And that would be a good day with the group head.
[21:46]
I'm gonna say like, for example, you had a video last night
[21:48]
but we've got people on staff.
[21:50]
There's no charge for that.
[21:50]
They're like benefit during normal operation.
[21:53]
Okay, and they have a Sunday afternoon three
[21:55]
when no one's working.
[21:56]
Exactly, yeah.
[21:58]
And then for that Saturday that they do the
[22:02]
selection because you have someone.
[22:04]
Yeah, we have our Saturday,
[22:05]
the study here during the time period.
[22:07]
that you guys are here, so that would be, you know, a different get in the past.
[22:09]
Oh, okay.
[22:10]
I think there's one of the things that I don't know if there's an eye else in front of you.
[22:15]
Or maybe reflect the eye.
[22:17]
Yeah, I was going to say that if you're going to reflect the eye, if we do, if we do, we'll
[22:22]
reflect the eye.
[22:23]
And potentially reflect the eye.
[22:24]
Those things like that won't change at all.
[22:26]
I mean, we're pretty flexible in the comment.
[22:28]
It just, you know, if you schedule a Sunday afternoon or Saturday, maybe eight o'clock
[22:32]
a night, no one normally wouldn't be around.
[22:34]
That's okay.
[22:35]
Yeah.
[22:35]
Okay, perfectly.
[22:38]
Okay.
[22:42]
The policy 511-5112,
[22:45]
additional placement,
[22:47]
and that just from last time,
[22:49]
just to be questioned,
[22:50]
I mean, that has been built
[22:51]
waiver available on the board for
[22:53]
kindergarten.
[22:55]
Suspension and expulsion due process,
[22:57]
the only word changes on page 45,
[22:59]
which is the word serious,
[23:01]
or how the V.A.
[23:02]
is serious between which is visible,
[23:04]
physical, infraction, negative, physical, I'm trying to do that and worry too much.
[23:17]
Yeah, they use the word serious, but they have to be a physical patient.
[23:24]
5138, we've been teaching them to be prepared to participate, which also includes the
[23:29]
and we've got the new tables for the 26.7 3-3-inch lunch.
[23:35]
We also was able to last year, so those have been updated as well, really burdened.
[23:42]
And then 5-1-4-4.1, use the physical force to change their system notification has to occur.
[23:49]
the same day, it used to be within 24 hours today, now within the same day, that it occurs
[23:54]
to
[24:00]
those other problems.
[24:06]
Any questions?
[24:13]
Yes.
[24:41]
And that was on the...
[25:12]
I'm trying to figure out where it was.
[25:14]
The same.
[25:20]
Or something.
[25:25]
The physical, of course.
[25:26]
There's a more number of that.
[25:28]
Maybe four or five.
[25:29]
That's really cheap.
[25:29]
We'll go back.
[25:34]
Yeah,
[25:41]
that was the most thing for an entire school, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
[25:47]
it paid to who said, oh, not in a second, great, yeah, the
[25:56]
thing to practice today is
[25:57]
than 1.25 feet, or then that everything now is on.
[26:04]
It wasn't that, of course, last year, after we did all of our tasks.
[26:09]
Of
[26:23]
course, it's a very interesting point.
[26:29]
So you just, yeah, yeah.
[26:32]
Just
[26:35]
made you realize everything that goes through the mind,
[26:38]
so hope this worked on with students,
[26:41]
or told the things that you have to think of.
[26:43]
Yeah, and just on that note, our administrators were recertivated on buying data.
[26:51]
Yeah.
[26:51]
Yeah.
[26:52]
The administrators and first of every two years.
[26:59]
Every year.
[27:00]
Is that the anti.
[27:04]
No.
[27:05]
No.
[27:06]
If that's.
[27:07]
Certainly of S.R.V.I.
[27:08]
So we'll be transitioning to MTSS, but they're all thinking hard yet.
[27:12]
But the same prepare is for us to be able to go and, obviously, to do us.
[27:19]
The escalation is a big core part of it.
[27:21]
No, we have to go hand on now, all of them in figures are served.
[27:25]
Is our climate, people also playing on that, or?
[27:32]
So the crisis team that you're building, those who have already been certified are going to get their
[27:37]
research participation during the professional development days. And then those who are
[27:41]
due will be trained, unfortunately, after school, but the plan also now has agreed back to school.
[27:46]
We'll be able to research like everybody. And everyone might be all the same devil.
[27:56]
And I imagine that, well,
[28:02]
the happy thing is for us in the schools.
[28:07]
It helps also for some cases
[28:09]
Well, they are running, they're getting involved all of this, they're mini-sliders.
[28:14]
Yeah, so as our rules deny, that's the immediate privilege of that.
[28:19]
Is that everybody else?
[28:20]
Yeah.
[28:24]
Actually, I'll go to the participant and actually be the panelist.
[28:28]
Is that me?
[28:29]
Yeah.
[28:29]
Yeah.
[28:31]
Yeah.
[28:33]
So, what are you talking about?
[28:36]
Oh, yeah.
[28:36]
We're not going to worry about it.
[28:38]
Oh, worry.
[28:39]
Yeah.
[28:40]
Do we now have any questions?
[28:45]
I
[28:51]
will move to the Board of Education and Proof Policy
[28:54]
that are going to be very in school facilities.
[28:56]
Policy 5-111-5-1-1-2, admission and placement policy.
[29:02]
Admission placement, policy 5-114, suspension and expulsion,
[29:05]
due process.
[29:07]
Policy 5-138, payment for testing.
[29:09]
And policy 5-144.1, use the physical force as presented.
[29:15]
Second.
[29:16]
Well, any favorites?
[29:22]
I'll probably have, which is dispensed.
[29:26]
Yeah, that's okay.
[29:27]
I'm thinking 85 in your packet.
[29:29]
I just want to give you a print up.
[29:30]
Some of these through the policy of our scene,
[29:32]
but just to give you kind of,
[29:34]
we are going to just leave the session ended.
[29:37]
How some of the things that they acted upon will impact our work going forward
[29:41]
in your policy that they see coming forward as a board in the coming year.
[29:46]
So I'll just turn through these.
[29:47]
kindergarten admission, just did that policy, so no waiver, which means students have
[29:52]
been tied by September 1st, that begins in 27-28. The discipline line that worked serious,
[29:59]
you just did that one.
[30:00]
We're through K-2, restraints, inclusion, notification, and same day, but it occurs to just to that policy. Then we get to the bottom of KG-5. And this is a health requirement update. So this is one that now, Jeff and I will talk to them. Of course, they should put some nursing supervisor. That one. And this will be looking at whether we stick with our own district requirements and also consult with our medical advisor Dr. Melinese. We talked about this briefly in the past.
[30:29]
but we now have the option of following the Connecticut Commissioner of Public Health recommendation for changing to the CDC schedule. So we'll talk to the medical advice that we'll talk to the call and figure out what what our recommendation is.
[30:46]
Bring that discussion that needed and changing policy of the two board of discussion.
[30:51]
So that would be coming for discussion as we move to the year beginning in 2728 crisis response plans. So this will go through building safety team are district state.
[31:03]
15 safety plant and safety claims drills going forward again in 27-20 to not this year, but we have this year to plan around it.
[31:14]
Drills must include a monthly parent notice in 27-28. There has to be gains for program explanations to kids or to grow her.
[31:23]
I can see the look on the data, but there has to be someone, and we're waiting for further
[31:30]
guidance.
[31:31]
The answer to the front of the data, these are just events that we have to pass.
[31:34]
Not a lot detailed yet.
[31:36]
There has to be some type of mental health staff involved in those explanations to
[31:41]
kids, and there has to be something around trauma-informed design in the
[31:46]
explanations.
[31:48]
Students may not participate in any type of drills that involve fake shooters,
[31:52]
anything around semi-weight gunfire, fake blood, or any realistic, active,
[31:59]
assailant scenarios. Again, our safety committees, our civil climate committees,
[32:04]
will work together to do and express it to those that are waiting for more guidance.
[32:10]
In the policy side, we'll have a look around what type of
[32:15]
drama and form we're going to do, what type of a dancer we should look like,
[32:20]
You know, it's kind of a conversation we will need to do for students with disabilities
[32:24]
and anything around active shooter or simple, so what are common paths and I'm sure
[32:31]
the rest of the active and lively conversations around that and I think, yeah, I have to
[32:36]
say down the ones that always don't work, which are going to be knowledgeable about
[32:40]
the questions about those things, you know, really, and I have to say that I was here at
[32:46]
he's building for after school event, not a school related event. He was for a past
[32:53]
society a long time ago.
[32:57]
And people were stealing a number of what to do. So, I'm like,
[33:01]
I'm a teacher, I'm like, everybody, everybody out because you aren't trained to respond to
[33:06]
that. People were just stealing a number of what to do. So, I'm like, so big on that, like that
[33:13]
And you don't go to your kids, they are with people that are in charge of them, so you need to move.
[33:18]
So, are you guys thinking about where to pass them?
[33:21]
In terms of curriculum, in some of this, Becca has already, we already have, or at least engage in the process.
[33:27]
But beginning this year, we should start preparing for curriculum around computer science, AI, and some emergency technologies.
[33:35]
We also have to start to look at a waiting course, some more guidance.
[33:39]
back that has looked us up on her own. We don't have a guidance yet for the state
[33:43]
program that has. But high school should start to prepare for an optional
[33:46]
Connecticut state so civic education and engagement. Because it's really
[33:50]
interesting with that is when you look up online what's required it's pretty much
[33:55]
all the graduation requirements we already have. So anyone who used to have it, so
[33:59]
that's why I'm trying to see if there's more veterans in two years. It's two years
[34:03]
of industry five that one has either the US government or civics of all
[34:07]
students speak civics. They have to participate in civic engagement, which can be a project or have community service all versus interact with community service hours, right.
[34:17]
And then they have to show efficiency in some center space way or via assessment.
[34:22]
Center is great. So are we saying that every single child will be using to have that? I don't know. So I'm trying to find some more guidance about it, but we're really good shape. If that's what it is, everyone will have that.
[34:33]
And what's interesting with that one, I was seeing the print there is we have little guidance, but it needs to be in place for the class of 2027.
[34:43]
Yeah, just this year's graduate class.
[34:46]
The good news in the other three areas, we do already have computer science.
[34:50]
So we're already offering that for our students and then as far as emerging technologies, there's some offering that are coming through AP actually just showed a new kind of pathway.
[35:00]
So there's there's an area in the way that we might be able to look at that certainly here. You said as well.
[35:07]
And the last one, you see there are in terms of athletics beginning in 27.8. So dance school year.
[35:13]
This is around cardiac freeze and cardiac conditions.
[35:17]
Every high school athlete you must receive the annual athletic health assessment around screening for cardiac conditions.
[35:23]
And if you offer free or reduce the lunch.
[35:26]
Um, those students that see that district cost of pay for that heart, yeah, sorry.
[35:34]
That's just an over and above, does it go, does it go, yeah, it's, yes.
[35:38]
I guess I don't have a further need of other than just what the legislate thought he did.
[35:44]
Um, he's done a screening here a whole year ago.
[35:48]
Last year, maybe I think two years ago.
[35:50]
Two years ago, we had done long, um, but I think when there was a lot of movement and we added
[35:57]
We had some portable ones, there were some tragedies that happened in the grant, and it's
[36:03]
wrapped in area after a couple of years ago, and then we got a few, I think we have a
[36:07]
couple that don't need to, right?
[36:11]
Yeah, I think even that was a grant, one with a grant, yeah, and so I do probably have a
[36:18]
right now, right? Yes. So, so things that just aren't required to do kind of know where it's
[36:24]
when you come before us and people would do.
[36:30]
And the community outdoor, warmness and
[36:37]
athletic center. Same thing you also want to talk, you want to talk, you want to talk. I certainly
[36:44]
can, but other people, I don't want to share in the month. Or once or twice right now, we can
[36:52]
August 5th, August 5th, I think, but I think we'll see that actually almost two weeks
[36:56]
and we'll see more briefly about that.
[36:58]
What's happened to the meeting online, they were just a few, was they are the percent
[37:08]
in the town.
[37:08]
It was me, Craig, Shawn, Greg, Jeff, and Michelle, that were present for the company,
[37:21]
the people from the company that are doing that.
[37:24]
We talked a lot about shaking the title, it's not just the football field, it's the community
[37:30]
outdoor wellness and athletic center because honestly, I worked with cities and I'm only
[37:37]
used by the school, by the school, but also by the community that we want that to be
[37:43]
like that, continue with that and also because all that's us to all the grants that we can
[37:50]
apply for, to get that money for this project. It was a very important thing.
[37:59]
When people did everything like, we're going to be working on this now and this, I'm like,
[38:03]
Oh my God, this is happening.
[38:06]
So I know that for myself, I'm hopeful
[38:09]
that we can continue applying for grants
[38:12]
and get it done one or two grants
[38:13]
because I don't think that that is going to be a sensation
[38:17]
to really help with this.
[38:20]
We're going to be looking forward to the full days.
[38:26]
And the W community presentation, as we know,
[38:30]
on September 2nd, the architect is going to be present
[38:35]
I know what you did about meeting timeline, the process, and a lot of the work is engineering
[38:41]
and getting shuttle ready.
[38:42]
It is not exciting work, but it is necessary work, so we are going to be sharing that with
[38:48]
the town director, so the director is meeting on September 7th, and then out of that, we
[38:53]
will start to have some trial or events for people to be informed, building zoom options,
[39:01]
the courtings will be adding as we go to the website.
[39:06]
We do have the website section around the community
[39:11]
after a while, the center of life centers
[39:12]
that we add to that site as well.
[39:15]
So again, as Alba said, it's becoming a reality.
[39:20]
I think they talked about, I don't have the time
[39:22]
on the front end beat,
[39:23]
but I think they talked about around
[39:25]
November of next year being to a point
[39:29]
where the shuttle can actually be ready to go into the ground. So exciting. That'd be great.
[39:37]
And we're now the first ending yet another week.
[39:45]
I'm going to talk back to that because we have to talk a little bit.
[39:50]
It's worth it. So the administrators, we did a lot of work in a couple of our
[39:56]
in the three days to really make sure we had some through lines of some of the work that we've
[40:00]
been trying to do over the summer. So you will see, I know, a group of them maybe you can do about
[40:04]
some of the pilings that were happening or making sure that we have the pilot trainings going on,
[40:09]
we created space for our vertical teams to get together and I'm kind of facilitating some of the
[40:15]
heating that I'm popping in and out of so that we can really start to have some continuity and
[40:19]
drink down the silos. So we're excited about that. Our carries are involved in how what they need
[40:24]
as well. They have the whole day dedicated in the classroom. And the administrative team
[40:30]
also this summer worked really hard with it coming up with our tier more like non-negotiables
[40:36]
that we will see in all of our classrooms this year. So that will allow us one to happen.
[40:41]
Again, it's really important to make sure that it doesn't matter what classroom we're sitting
[40:45]
in. These are guaranteed experiences for every student. We sort of look at what does that look like,
[40:50]
you know, in kindergarten versus high school, and how does that all benefit?
[40:54]
We went through, I'm looking over there, I think, three or four different iterations of the drafts,
[40:58]
but that'll be launched out as well, and I have to give Mr. Parkers a shout out because each
[41:05]
of a kind of crazy suggestion of changing what we do for communication, just because it has been a
[41:10]
pretty tough summer for a lot of people, and anyone standing in here right now is kind of dark
[41:16]
in theory, so what could be different, and it's of that and I'm of that. So I think it's
[41:21]
in there or it's any conversation this year as well.
[41:24]
It's how she didn't give away what it is.
[41:27]
That's not the right answer.
[41:29]
Well, and so I thought you thought on the one day on the agenda, we'll leave it at that.
[41:35]
I'm looking forward to, I'm just finally the thing as well.
[41:38]
So, the other thing I just want to say about the PD, I think they're one of the first
[41:45]
times that I can remember, probably at least post COVID, if you read through, you should
[41:54]
see an exact through line, through all the buildings, and not really the testament to the
[41:58]
work that I got in the team that's got it, even though there might be little nuances of
[42:04]
where it is or how much time is devoted based on the building need, you will see the consistency
[42:09]
from buildings of building, which I think volumes about the work that's being done in consistency K-12.
[42:19]
So it's there, it's present, and that's what will make a difference in the outcomes for kids.
[42:31]
Okay, so we're in all of your comments and we're going to join you guys,
[42:37]
and I'll
[42:38]
hand it up and then we'll come up to talk to you guys later.
[42:44]
Okay,
[42:48]
so before we go to the next session, we want to create a subcommittee for this guy
[42:57]
in the solidation school.
[43:01]
Yeah, if you want to be just a work committee, would you want it larger than that?
[43:08]
I'm not sure.
[43:09]
Okay.
[43:11]
So, what we might want to do is add it as a specific agenda item.
[43:16]
So we can talk about it at length rather than just...
[43:18]
So I can put it on...
[43:22]
I can put it on that one if you want or I can put it on...
[43:29]
Does that work?
[43:31]
Yeah, we're going to have to give up.
[43:33]
And we can talk about what we want the membership to be,
[43:37]
how large, how small.
[43:40]
But I think that makes a lot of sense, and move from the board.
[43:43]
And we just have to be careful how much board run
[43:47]
because it can't be a board being, right?
[43:49]
So I think if it's a agenda, there'll
[43:52]
be a much richer conversation in trying
[43:54]
to have it, then nobody's here, too.
[43:57]
And if we put it in the agenda, I think people will see, and people will have the message
[44:01]
interest and they come and speak to the talk as well.
[44:04]
All right.
[44:16]
Move to the end of the meeting to the next session.
[44:20]
Ask for it.
[44:20]
But many of the Daniels that have to section one, national 55 page for the following purposes
[44:25]
that has allowed by section one, national 206.
[44:28]
Get it.
[44:28]
A, the confidential student matter out of the top residency request, that attendance in the
[44:33]
but essentially, she'll be loaded to leverage the Board of Education to print in the school
[44:37]
and other different questions to attend.
[44:43]
Oh, thank you.
[44:45]
Oh, thank you.
[44:46]
Oh, thank you.
[44:46]
Great one.
[44:47]
Oh, your favorite?
[44:49]
All right.
[44:49]
All right.
