>> Thanks, Commissioner Higgins. Uh, I'll

[1:15]
The total revenue collected during the

[1:20]
electrical, as well as plumbing and

or the first half of 2026 was $435,550.
[1:37]
Additionally,
uh the report out in the ordinance
[1:40]
report, we did not meet in uh July
uh or quite frankly I guess at this
[1:46]
point um August and we are scheduled to
meet again in uh September. That's the
[1:52]
end of my report.
>> Reports
[1:56]
Mr. Bry.
>> Thank you, President Higgins. Uh, there
[2:00]
will be no police report this month.
I'll do both of them next month.
[2:04]
» Thank you.
>> Thank you, Commissioner Prenast. Thank
[2:08]
you, Commissioner Higgins. Public Public
Works activity report for July 2026.
[2:14]
Month of July is typically the month of
warm and humid temperature along with
[2:18]
stormy weather. This July lived up to
it. The following report highlights the
[2:22]
main activity of the public works
department. With the humid and wet
[2:26]
conditions, the vegetation around town
grows like wildfire. The cutting crews
[2:31]
were busy with constant cutting
throughout the month. The crew the crews
[2:35]
did not did the yearly job of setting
up, breaking down and cleaning up for
[2:39]
the fireworks of July. The road crew
repaired sink holes on the following
[2:43]
streets. Judy Way Moser and at Arbor
public works installed no truck signage
[2:50]
at Mount Mount and federal
intersections. The sanitation department
[2:54]
picked 73 tons of recycling and 572 tons
of residential waste. Monday, September
[3:00]
7th, public works will be closed.
Monday's trash and recycling will be
[3:05]
picked up on Tuesday, September 8th,
along with the Tuesday's normal trash
[3:09]
and recycling day. Branch chipping along
with metal and appliance pickup will be
[3:13]
September 14th to September 18th on your
scheduled trash day. That's into my
[3:18]
report.
>> Thank you, Commissioner Doerty.
[3:23]
» I have before me the treasures report
for July 2026. Uh operating cash in the
[3:29]
general fund as of July 31st, 2026
1,470,49.
[3:36]
Other funds include the TD Bank escro
checking account with a balance of
[3:39]
$442,356.
[3:43]
The 2022 pleet account with a balance of
$649,74.
[3:48]
The TD Bank 2022 bond account with a
balance of $1,73,311.
[3:55]
The TD Bank capital checking account
with a balance of $6,22,849.
[4:01]
and the TD Bank liquid fuels checking
account with a balance of $424,315.
[4:07]
Total cash balance for the township as
of July 31st, 2026, 10,128,284.
[4:14]
That concludes my report.
>> Thank you, Commissioner Bowden.
[4:21]
» Thank you, Commissioner Begin.
>> Thank you, Commissioner Higgins. Um, I
[4:25]
do not have a report this month from the
Asen Township Fire Department. Um but do
[4:29]
have an update from the acid ambulance
authority. Um total incidents if you
[4:33]
look at just for July 2026 336 total
incidents. Remember this isn't just
[4:38]
absent township but it's broader. Um
average response time excellent job at
[4:43]
at about 6 and a half minutes. And
average on scene time is about 18
[4:47]
minutes. So again just a reminder in
terms of ALS and paramedic care that's
[4:52]
that that deep attention and care. So it
takes time when folks are out there. So,
[4:56]
uh, good job by, um, by the ambulance
authority this month. Um, also just a
[5:01]
reminder, um, as I've done in previous
months with the, uh, the wall that
[5:04]
heals, um, that's the traveling Vietnam
Veterans Memorial. Folks aren't familiar
[5:09]
with the term, the wall that heals.
People probably are familiar with the
[5:12]
Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It's in
Washington DC. This is affiliated with
[5:15]
that memorial. It's about 3/4 of the
size and it travels all around the
[5:20]
country. Um, you have to apply to be
nominated to have it hosted in your
[5:23]
municipality. lucky enough in Aston. I
believe it's the first time it's coming
[5:27]
to Delaware County in about 25 years uh
when it was in Marcus Hook. So very
[5:31]
excited about it'll be here in October.
Um for people that are interested, they
[5:35]
know folks that are interested. There's
information on our website. You can call
[5:38]
Bill Kelly in terms of the staff. If you
want to volunteer, get engaged, do
[5:42]
anything you need. We need all different
volunteers in different uh capacities,
[5:47]
even people that are just there to help
um you know, as orient people as they
[5:51]
come. But uh a lot more to come on it.
But just want to plug that again for
[5:55]
anybody that's here today or listening
at home. So that's it for my reports.
[5:58]
Commissioner Higgins. Thank you, sir.
[clears throat]
[6:03]

[6:22]

Lane, uh there's a second one and we'll
take your questions at that point in
[6:52]
time. Okay, that's the normal that's the
standard. Okay. All right. So, anybody
[6:56]

[7:01]
agenda today?
[7:06]
All right, seeing none, we'll move on to
item eight, new business.

Commissioner Dockerty.
[7:25]
» I make a motion to approve the agreement
with Clifton Larson Allen LLP for
[7:29]
conducting the 2025 Aston Tatcha

[7:35]

McInn. [clears throat]
[7:58]

[8:25]
in the amount of 2000 excuse me $25.94
due to property being reassessed.
[8:31]
Commissioner Bur.
>> Thank you, President Higgins. I make a
[8:35]
motion to approve the tax refund to
Richard Namy Barry 700 Tryans Road Aston
[8:40]
PA 1 19014 in the amount of $25.94
due to the property being reassessed and
[8:47]
that's in the form of a motion.
>> We have a motion and second. Any
[8:51]
comments or questions? All in favor
signify by saying I. I. Nazs. Eyes have
[8:56]
it.
Move on to ESCO releases number nine.
[9:00]
Commissioner McInn.
>> Thank you, Commissioner Higgins. just
[9:03]
have one for this month. I make a motion
to approve engineering fees to be paid
[9:08]
to Pannonian Associates for the month of
August 2026 in the amount of $4,01.
[9:15]
» We have uh we have a motion to second.
Any comments or questions on the escros?
[9:20]
All in favor say I.
>> I. Nays eyes have it.
[9:25]
Now we move on to number 11. Other
business
[9:30]
excuse me sorry.
open to the public one half hour.
[9:34]
Anybody that's wants to come up, say
something, please uh when you get up
[9:38]
here, uh state your name and then uh the
subject you want to bring to our
[9:42]
attention.
[9:58]
Name and address, sir.
[10:19]
might be now. Okay. Um, so this has
occurred twice now. Um, I think I speak
[10:26]
for everybody when I say that none of us
have a problem with people throwing a
[10:31]
party or having people over. We all do
it. Um, but this is nothing like
[10:37]
anything I've seen before to be honest
with you. Um, cars flood the street. The
[10:43]
house is flooded with people. There's
got to be over a hundred at least. Um,
[10:50]
loud cursing. Uh, I had two condom
wrappers left on my front lawn where my
[10:58]
daughter plays. She's 6 years old. Um,
my neighbor uh actually ended up calling
[11:04]
the police the first night around 3:00 4
in the morning because two of the
[11:09]
partygoers were having sex on their
lawn. Um, they were arrested, but they
[11:15]
actually ended up coming to the party
Tuesday night as well. Um,
[11:19]
[clears throat]
when they were told to leave, uh, they
[11:25]
were driving around my culde-sac
screaming, "Fucking white people. Uh,
[11:30]
we'll be back. See you next week." Um,
they I mean, I would compare it to like
[11:39]
a concert happening on our street. Um,
I I really don't know what to do at this
[11:46]
point. The thing that I'm concerned
about is the fact that the owner of the
[11:50]
house continues to post the house on
different websites trying to get over on
[11:55]
everybody. So when they're told not to
do one thing, they try another. So I
[12:01]
think, you know, again, I speak for all
of us that we're concerned that this is
[12:04]
going to continue to happen and we're
hoping that you guys can find some type
[12:07]
of solution for us and I'm sure other
people have other things to share with
[12:11]
you, but that's that's all I have for
now.
[12:14]
» Thank you. Everything you said is is
accurate. Um
[12:18]
I I will say that uh the first one was
was when I met with you folks out in
[12:25]
front of uh But Lane there. I believe
that it happened on a Tuesday night
[12:30]
» last year
>> back down there at 9. And then uh that
[12:33]
was the first one. And there was one.
>> No, the first one was the second.
[12:37]
» Yeah,
>> that was the second one. Yeah. when when
[12:40]
um when Danielle uh sent me an email on
the first one, I was unaware of that one
[12:46]
happened and I don't know if anybody
here was. I don't know if the police
[12:49]
were for the first one. Are you here,
Nicole?
[12:53]
» Daniel.
>> Danielle, I'm sorry. Yeah. So, the one
[12:56]
that you wrote me on originally and I
responded in the red red print for you.
[13:01]
Was that one was the township called for
that one?
[13:05]
» Yes,
>> absolutely.
[13:06]
» They were because
[13:10]
They had a child
and adults didn't know how to swim
[13:17]
» in
essentially.
[13:19]
» So was
you have to ma'am ma'am you have to wait
[13:24]
but you get all the time you like.
>> I I want to add that there's also plenty
[13:29]
of drug use.
>> So the the one the one that happened
[13:31]
last Tuesday I want I want to start with
that one I think because that's more
[13:35]
relative relative relevance.
[13:44]
Okay, f folks. We we we have a
transcript being made and she can't make
[13:48]
a transcript if everybody talks.
>> Everybody's talking at one time. I can't
[13:51]
digest it. Okay. The one that you wrote
me about, Danielle,
[13:57]
» July 21st.
>> That was July 21st.
[13:59]
» July.
>> When I found out about that for the
[14:03]
first time,
All
[14:08]
right. You're gonna have to if you want
to come up with him and talk. Okay. But
[14:13]
I can't digest everybody talking at one
time. Okay.
[14:16]
» I mean, I I
>> I want to hear what you have to say.
[14:20]
Okay.
>> Mike be Mike be before uh Joseph, right?
[14:25]
Before Josephs the mic, can can you just
give us a list of some of the websites
[14:30]
that you're seeing this on because we're
trying to keep up and I might need it
[14:34]
down the road as evidence and that sort
of thing.
[14:36]
» Also, homes.com. I know she was on Verbo
at one point. Um,
[14:43]
» yeah,
>> homes to go.
[14:45]
» Homes.com.
>> Okay.
[14:51]
» If there's multiple copies, if I could
have one. Thank you, Mike.
[15:04]
Let me know. Sorry,
>> Danielle.
[15:06]
» Danielle, sorry. That's another Nicole
I'm dealing with.
[15:08]
» Sure. Danielle Venudi
>> Ven U TI and I live at my address to
[15:16]
» 118 Butlane.
BU T.
[15:22]
» Yep.
Um, so the first one was the weekend of
[15:26]
July 21st. I believe the date was right
around there. It was a Saturday night.
[15:31]
Um, that was the original one I had
wrote to Mike about. Um, so I believe
[15:36]
that one entailed again,
I would say close to 100, if not more
[15:41]
people. There were cars parked from one
end of Buttlane all the way up to the
[15:46]
culde-sac all the way down. Um, and they
were not leaving until 2 in the
[15:51]
afternoon on Sunday. Um, there were
empty alcohol cans scattered through
[15:56]
people's yards. As he said, the condoms,
the sex on the front yard, throw up in a
[16:02]
neighbor's driveway. Um, pure
disrespect.
[16:05]
» That's what you wrote to me about.
>> Yes. Correct. The newest one was when
[16:09]
the police called and you had showed up
and code enforcement that night, the
[16:13]
night of National Night Out.
>> That was Tuesday. That was
[16:15]
» correct.
[16:22]
Okay. And that one is what we spoke
about standing at the at the corner down
[16:27]
there at um where um
on the corner by by the driveway, one of
[16:32]
your one of your neighbors. We spoke
about that and that next day there was a
[16:39]
meeting with Chief Rajiri
uh and three code people
[16:45]
myself
uh the lister was on the phone Mr. Mr.
[16:50]
Madrid. Okay. Um
Bill Bill was there. Okay. And um the
[16:59]
whole thing was discussed. the the the
owner of the house was there too. And
[17:05]
what Chief Regger did more than once and
looked right at her, this is not going
[17:10]
to happen again. A party is not going to
happen again.
[17:14]
Albert uh the
Albert Ever went over with her
[17:21]
with all the notices, all the
ordinances,
[17:26]
and what was posted on the door. Explain
it to her. Okay. And that one notice
[17:33]
said that it was improper use of the
property was removed from the door.
[17:37]
Clearly at the bottom of the report, it
said that it's going to be removed by
[17:41]
the police, I believe, or by the code
people.
[17:45]
Eileen, am I correct?
>> Yes.
[17:47]
» Okay. I you know what I mean?
>> Yes.
[17:50]
» Um,
so then we moved into how everything was
[17:55]
wrong. what was wrong and that was not
permitted in this zoning district.
[18:00]
» Right.
>> Okay. And what typically happens when
[18:04]
the um
uh notice the notice will go down as a
[18:09]
citation will go down to the district
judge's office. Today I was asked in
[18:14]
writing why is it why the judge but
that's the law. Judge has to rule on
[18:19]
these things. Okay. The judge is not an
employee of Aston Township.
[18:24]
» Right. this. So, you know, because it
was implied that why is the judge? Why
[18:27]
is the judge there?
>> I think that was from another neighbor
[18:29]
on the email, not directly.
>> That was from um Laierre.
[18:33]
» Yes. So, I think our concern is though,
too, last night she rented the house out
[18:39]
again. It was not a party, but there
were still five or six people. Not a
[18:47]
» Yeah. The police, we had contacted Dawn
from Codes. She said, "Call 911 for a
[18:53]
non
>> a non-emergent whatever the cops came
[18:58]
they were great the one guy from code
enforcement but the people were able to
[19:02]
stay
>> so how is this woman allowed to have
[19:06]
these people stay when it was told she
can't you know what I like that's where
[19:10]
the confusion is with us
>> I understand so let's talk about the
[19:13]
police for a moment because what I what
I said in my in my email is being
[19:17]
disputed um there were three officers
there I was told there was none there.
[19:23]
Okay. Then then that one officer went
and and spoke to the some of the
[19:27]
residents at their houses. There were
three officers there.
[19:30]
» There was
>> Okay. So, just so that's in the record,
[19:33]
there were three officers there.
>> There's no complaint. The officers the
[19:36]
officers are wonderful.
>> I would say there were no officers.
[19:39]
Yeah.
>> There was uh Albert Ever was there from
[19:41]
code.
>> Yeah.
[19:42]
» Came out. I don't know what time and
late night was it around seven or so, I
[19:45]
think.
>> Yeah. He did not speak to any of us.
[19:48]
Albert did not speak to any of us. Only
the one police officer who had glasses
[19:51]
on. and he was great.
>> And I Eileen was in a car. She didn't
[19:54]
get out of the car. I don't know if she
feared something or not, but she did.
[19:57]
Okay. So, and if I had been known about
it, I would have come down. But for me
[20:02]
to be there would have not made any
would made a difference because I have
[20:06]
no enforcement authority. Okay? I can't
say to somebody, "Get out of the house.
[20:11]
You're not allowed in here." It's not
it's not within my bay wick to do it,
[20:14]
right?
>> It's not it's not permitted.
[20:16]
» So, that's that's what happened. Now in
my correspondence to you and others um
[20:24]
no matter which days there are number of
days um was upfront it was forthright as
[20:30]
to what will happen if she doesn't
continue okay if she continues to do
[20:35]
what she's doing. All right. Uh
the only only person that can rule
[20:42]
against uh her and padlock the house we
would need to have an injunction. Right
[20:47]
Mike? An injunction. Yeah, that's
correct. So, uh, Danielle, you asked a
[20:51]
question and and and I don't know if
Mike ended up answering it or not. So,
[20:56]
um, I think the question was why were
these people allowed to stay and
[21:01]
» I think, um, you know, there there's a
couple things, uh, that factor into that
[21:07]
decision. One is, um, she's had to
refund these people for those rentals
[21:12]
because she wasn't allowed to use it.
So, the the idea that um she's she's
[21:16]
making a profit there. Um you know,
we're doing our best to make sure she
[21:21]
doesn't. Um we also charge for the
police responses at this point. So, um I
[21:27]
think it's probably going to cost her
more a night than it will to um to to
[21:33]
rent the thing. And uh when the police
got there, I think that their judgment
[21:38]
was uh you know the people who were
there were sort of innocent in this
[21:43]
whole thing.
>> They truly were. But I guess the point
[21:45]
of the matter is we were told it
wouldn't continue to happen, but it's
[21:48]
continuing to happen. Give me one
second, Joseph. Okay.
[21:51]
» It's nothing against the people.
>> She's going to rent it and those were
[21:55]
the people that stayed there last night.
I mean, they didn't bother her soul, but
[21:58]
it's the point that she was told not to
do it.
[22:00]
» Well, and you're not supposed to. You're
right. you know, I mean, so, so, you
[22:04]
know,
under those circumstances,
[22:08]
some judgment call needs to be made.
They were out of there the next day.
[22:11]
They had some, they had a longer term
rental than that one night. Um, the
[22:15]
police came, they said, uh, they
evaluated the situation. Um, it didn't
[22:21]
seem like it was the level of offensive
that everything else has been. and they
[22:26]
said, "You you can't stay, but you can
stay tonight because I I think it was
[22:30]
pretty late in the day, right?" And then
um uh the company that is doing the
[22:36]
environmental engineering over at MIPC
ended up getting them a hotel and uh and
[22:40]
that moved on. So So to to answer your
question, um you know, we are charging
[22:46]
for the police response. Um and we also
issued a citation on that. So, um I I I
[22:54]
get the principle. I do. And I think
everybody up on the board gets it, too.
[22:58]
And um you know, there are some
limitations to what we can do under the
[23:04]
under the municipalities planning code,
but this is raised to a level that we've
[23:08]
had to sort of take our what we would
typ our typical response would be to a
[23:13]
zoning violation and figure out how to
step it up a little bit. And that may be
[23:18]
an injunctive action. Uh and um you
know, mention common please though
[23:23]
that's not a tomorrow thing you know
it's it's a big deal and um and it's a
[23:29]
process so um it's something we're
evaluating um a lot of times when you uh
[23:36]
start citing regularly people come to
their senses and um from a a
[23:43]
governmental efficiency standpoint you
know to spend the money
[23:49]
» um so I that's about as much of a
glimpse into legal reasoning I could
[23:55]
probably give you. I don't want to do is
lay out her whole game plan and have
[24:00]
anybody who watches a YouTube video know
what's coming next. Right. Um Joseph,
[24:05]
you had something you wanted to say.
>> Yeah. I guess my my only question here
[24:08]
is she's got two stickers on her window
and she is clearly
[24:13]
moving from website to website trying to
get over on you guys. you know, why is
[24:21]
this allowed to pass? She's got two
stickers on the window
[24:25]
and and just hearing, well, we're going
to let those people stay because they
[24:28]
were nice.
I mean, I don't understand that.
[24:34]
» I I don't
>> I hear you. Um I I think that that uh
[24:39]
someone was called out there and they
had to make a decision um a little bit
[24:43]
in a vacuum. They didn't have the
opportunity to consult with the board.
[24:47]
» It was a judge. It was a judgment
decision.
[24:49]
» Yeah. They had to make a judgment and
they made a judgment call and we you
[24:52]
know we all have the right to disagree
with that judgment call.
[24:55]
» Right. Yeah. And listen like I mean
obviously I do. But my question here is
[25:00]
okay you guys made a judgment call the
other night. What about going forward?
[25:05]
Are we going to keep making judgment
calls if she continues to do what she's
[25:10]
not supposed to be doing is my question.
>> Yeah.
[25:12]
» How how how much how much rope do we
give here? like how much of like you
[25:17]
know what I mean like
>> how many times Yeah.
[25:21]
» Yeah. Right. I It's a fair point and I
think um you know like happened on the
[25:29]
20 the the big events were the 21st and
I think the 11th probably no uh the 4th.
[25:34]
The fourth I'm sorry um the we
and then we had another one it was
[25:42]
Monday right you had you had the the
attendance from Lan. Now the message is
[25:46]
proliferating among the staff and the
police department and the code
[25:50]
department and everything else that this
is an issue. So my guess and um you know
[25:55]
I try not to delve into other people's
psyches because sometimes you don't like
[25:59]
what you find but my guess is an officer
got out there um evaluated the situation
[26:05]
um maybe knew that the parties were a
problem but didn't know the scope of the
[26:08]
problem and and made a decision. Um, so
we'll make sure we communicate with uh
[26:14]
with every department and
hopefully uh you know you you you have a
[26:19]
more satisfactory experience next time.
>> I guess
[26:21]
» hopefully there's not a next time,
right?
[26:23]
» Listen, my last question is like what
what are you guys planning to do when it
[26:27]
comes to monitoring these websites?
Because
[26:31]
» Right.
>> I'm sorry, but like the way we're seeing
[26:34]
it posted
um it's not innocent. It's not a
[26:38]
mistake. Like she's doing this. a
twounit home.
[26:42]
» Like I said, she's trying to get over on
not just us, but you guys. So,
[26:47]
» we're wondering what's going to be done
when it comes
[26:50]
» start on every website August 15th as
soon as September 1st to move in. You
[26:55]
can rent the basement for 2,000 or the
first floor for 3,000 or the whole house
[27:00]
for a lovely $5,000 furnished.
>> Yeah. So,
[27:04]
» I get people can rent their homes in
Aston. I just didn't realize a single
[27:07]
family home could be a multi multif
family. Okay.
[27:10]
» It can um
>> noted by today that she um she was
[27:14]
identified by Albert a week ago also
that she cannot purchase the basement.
[27:19]
It's a single family only four unrelated
ordinance rates. She's quite aware of
[27:24]
that. She came up and wanted to rent it
for 6 months. Not allowed. She wants to
[27:28]
rent it for a year for unrelated. That's
what she can do. She's left here very
[27:32]
upset. She feels like she's the um
She's being harassed.
[27:39]
» So,
she knows there's no more rental.
[27:44]
She has a cease and assist. If anybody's
there, he's been notified that they're
[27:49]
not to stay.
>> Mr. Higgins, can I ask a quick question?
[27:54]
» Absolutely.
>> Don't we have to rent in the township?
[27:58]
You have to have a Don't you have to
have an inspection? So that's the other
[28:02]
thing. She does not have a rental
license. She tried to get a rental. She
[28:05]
took the applications today. Um and she
also has done a lot of work with her. So
[28:11]
she took those and she has to get all
that rectified before she can even apply
[28:15]
for rental license. So has the name of
you know she has the name of all the
[28:20]
people that are renters. Um it can only
be for
[28:25]
she was angry when she left. Um so I
said you can't have anybody there until
[28:29]
you have a
a active rental license.
[28:35]
So, she got rented for 6 months.
>> So, even if she goes through the process
[28:40]
and does everything correctly, I want to
confirm she can only have one family
[28:45]
renting that home and it cannot be like
a
[28:47]
» So, it's it well it the the definition
of family is sort of a protected issue
[28:52]
at the constitutional level, right? So
it the the way our ordinance reads is it
[28:58]
can be up to four people unrelated
living as a single housekeeping unit,
[29:02]
right? So you can't have like uh uh you
know one person in the basement cooking
[29:07]
their meals and uh someone upstairs
cooking their meals and you know it's
[29:11]
got to be
>> right and that's how it's advertised. So
[29:14]
I just want to make sure that one
family, not the Ferguson family and the
[29:18]
Smith family.
>> It could it could be it could be four
[29:21]
people unrelated, right? Like I'm sure
at some point you had a roommate, you
[29:24]
know, that sort of thing. But what it
can't be, right, is like you said, the
[29:28]
Jones family upstairs.
>> Correct.
[29:32]
» The the the citation was issued uh
yesterday was for the most recent. That
[29:40]
was it's the first of a number or sec
the second or third of one that was
[29:43]
issued. Okay. Uh the other thing is um
as far as how do we stop it? Um, I think
[29:51]
I said in my email this uh this morning
or last night, I don't know if you had
[29:55]
an opportunity to say it, that uh we
don't have the resources to put a police
[30:00]
officer there all day long because then
other parts of the town will suffer and
[30:05]
there is crime in town.
>> Absolutely.
[30:06]
» So that's one thing. The other thing I
we can't put and I don't control that.
[30:10]
The police police basically run
themselves. I don't give them orders on
[30:14]
what to do. We set policy.
So, um,
[30:18]
Officer Razeri back there, Sergeant
Roseri, uh, in the absence of, um,
[30:23]
Chief, uh, is in charge, and I think
that he understands the situation. We
[30:29]
can have we can have the patrol in and
out more than would be normal. Mike,
[30:34]
would you say that would be something we
can do? We keep their eyes open and if
[30:38]
we, you know, if we see um a bunch of
cars in the driveway, they're not her,
[30:43]
okay? It's somebody coming in. and then
we can get them out of there. And I
[30:46]
don't care at this point whether it's
two in the morning or three in the
[30:48]
morning, you know. I think they they got
to get out. That's that's just me
[30:52]
speaking. Okay. Um and and code will
react like they did the other night.
[30:58]
They came out. They normally wouldn't
see them out on the street at at at
[31:01]
night time, you know. Um so most of our
issues happen in day. So
[31:07]
we can't we can't go remove we can't clo
lock the doors. Can't do that. Um, we
[31:14]
can tell people they have to move out of
the property because there's a
[31:16]
violation. We can do that, right? And
that that's what we have to do. I don't
[31:22]
know what other plan we can do at this
point is other than to get these um
[31:28]
postings removed out there saying that
the 15th it's available and so forth,
[31:33]
» you know.
>> Um, I'm as troubled by this as much as
[31:36]
all of you are. I'm frustrated by it.
Yeah,
[31:39]
» I put in a lot you I put in a lot of
time trying to react to every one of
[31:43]
your emails. You know, I don't know what
else I can do or the board can do at
[31:48]
this point.
>> You're shaking your head.
[31:53]
» Come on up. Speak, please.
>> Can I sit back down? [laughter]
[32:01]
» My name is Matthew Ryder.
address.
[32:04]
» 108 Buttlane.
>> R I G H T E R.
[32:11]
» Okay.
>> What's on your mind, sir?
[32:15]
» How you guys are handling this? This is
ridiculous.
[32:18]
» What is your suggestion? We as a board
up here have to follow the law.
[32:22]
» Yeah, I get that.
>> We have to follow the law and everything
[32:25]
we've done. We can't go down and
physically remove somebody. We're going
[32:29]
to grab them and pull them out board. We
can't do that. We'll be sued.
[32:34]
» It's just a matter of time before
something really happen bad happens on
[32:37]
this street. You guys are going to get
one of the officers badly injured.
[32:42]
People are living in hell on this street
and you guys are just sweeping under the
[32:46]
rug. This is BS. You guys need to take
charge. You guys need to take charge.
[32:50]
This is insane. Taxpaying dollars are
just being wasted because you guys
[32:55]
aren't doing anything back.
>> You're feeling that us, police, and code
[33:00]
aren't doing what they have to do. We're
following the law. I can assure you
[33:02]
that.
>> Okay. Well, no one's seeing any
[33:06]
difference. It's insane. This lady
continues to post. You guys do nothing
[33:09]
about it. You're doing nothing about it.
It's going to continue to happen.
[33:12]
» The first part of your comment.
>> I'm sorry.
[33:16]
» Continues to post online.
>> Yeah,
[33:19]
that's what it said. That's that's all
>> you are you asking to go online, look
[33:23]
for these sites
>> and they continue to come every week and
[33:27]
you guys keep on putting a sticker up
and nothing happens. Nothing's going to
[33:30]
continue to happen. This is a joke.
You're going to get an officer really
[33:34]
hurt. Everyone's living in fear. This is
insane. Why are we paying taxes? You
[33:39]
guys do nothing. This is insane.
>> I got police have been up there. The
[33:43]
code people have been there. I don't
know what else you expect us to do.
[33:46]
» Okay.
>> Um
[33:47]
» you and I have had this conversation the
other night.
[33:49]
» Um listen, so here here's what I'll say.
And
[33:53]
he's frustrated. You know what I mean?
We all are.
[33:56]
» I understand that.
>> Yeah. I mean, I do get what he's saying
[33:58]
when it comes to our safety. I I mean I
for hours last Tuesday night, you know,
[34:04]
my daughter's scared. She's in the house
saying, "I'm scared." My wife is looking
[34:09]
at me like, "Do not go outside." Like,
"We're we're we're scared." Cars are
[34:15]
circling my culde-sac. They're screaming
at our houses, you know. Um I want to
[34:22]
make it very clear that I have nothing
but respect for the police officers.
[34:26]
They did a great job for what they had
to work with, you know. They weren't
[34:31]
expecting 200 people on the street, you
know. So, we're not holding that against
[34:36]
them. We're not We think they did a
great job. We have nothing but respect
[34:40]
for them. Um we're just kind of
concerned. And and the one thing that I
[34:45]
really want to bring up here is so she
has two sick stickers on her window
[34:49]
right now. Um I [clears throat] don't
know when the second sticker was posted.
[34:54]
I'm assuming maybe the day after. I
don't know for sure. Uh not really
[34:58]
important. My point is her continuing.
So I I heard you earlier say we're going
[35:04]
to, you know, have police officers there
when we can when we can, but you know,
[35:08]
obviously we we are not expecting
police.
[35:10]
» Well, they will come out directly if you
call 911.
[35:13]
» Oh, absolutely. Yeah. And I want to say
>> we can have them I can have
[35:18]
» Yeah. And I want to say they were there
within you know
[35:21]
» I'm sorry I don't mean to talk over you.
I apologize.
[35:23]
» No, you go ahead. Yeah, I I'm saying I I
want to say when we call them, they're
[35:26]
there within minutes. Like we have no
complaints about the police. We want to
[35:31]
make make that very clear. I think Am I
speaking for everybody else here? Right.
[35:35]
Okay.
>> My my concern here is and I heard you
[35:39]
earlier say, "Hey, we'll try to get
people to, you know, police to drive by
[35:43]
and keep an eye out, make sure nobody
gives in the house." My concern are the
[35:47]
posts online. Shouldn't she be fined for
every additional post that she has put
[35:54]
up since those stickers went up?
>> So,
[35:58]
this is going to feel like a like a
distinction without a difference to you,
[36:02]
but unfortunately the raw law recognizes
a difference. Um, you know,
[36:08]
posting is still protected by the First
Amendment. Um, it's when it's the action
[36:14]
of of actually renting or or following
through with the violation, right? Um,
[36:20]
so we can't cite her for the posts and I
I get it. I I do. But
[36:26]
» Okay. Yeah. I'm just curious. I I I'm
we're all just curious like what we need
[36:31]
to do here. And And you know, we're not
trying to lose our cool. We're just
[36:34]
upset, that's all. Um
we a lot of us have kids. Um
[36:42]
There's a lot of kids on the street. Uh
it's it's um it's concerning. I I was I
[36:48]
listen I'm 37 years old. I don't
typically get scared of crowds, but that
[36:52]
was something else. I don't know if
you've seen video or if anybody's
[36:55]
provided it to you. Um
>> I've never seen anything like it. Yeah.
[37:01]
And and and listen, I have nothing but
respect for you guys. I appreciate your
[37:04]
time. I just wanted to share everything
with you. And
[37:07]
» and Mike, a question for you, a legal
question. So with these different sites,
[37:12]
I'm sure there's all kinds of fine
print, you know, from their lawyers, but
[37:16]
are there things we can do in terms of
cease and desist or highlight them in
[37:20]
terms of the
>> We did the cease and assist.
[37:22]
» All right.
>> You're talking about for to the sites
[37:25]
who are who she's posting on. I don't
think so. Um I think we can notify them
[37:30]
that there's a problem, there's a
violation, and ask them to take it down,
[37:34]
but I don't think we can force the
issue.
[37:36]
» Can Can I bring up one other thing, too?
and and and I'm not trying to challenge
[37:41]
you or anything like that, but earlier
you made a comment about all the fines
[37:45]
that she's facing right now,
>> and it seemed like you're kind of uh
[37:49]
sympathetic towards them.
>> Um
[37:52]
» if that's the imp like I I'm not sure
what uh you mean by sympathetic. I gave
[37:57]
you the impression that I have an ounce
of sympathy for this person who's not uh
[38:02]
» what I'm saying is earlier you said that
she's facing a lot of fines and she uh
[38:06]
is going to have a lot of trouble paying
those fines.
[38:09]
» Yeah. So, so let's be contextual, okay?
Um because I think Danielle asked the
[38:15]
question, she's allowed to she's allowed
to keep renting this. She's making a
[38:18]
profit, that sort of thing. And I just
wanted to point out that she's probably
[38:22]
going to have more fines than she is
profit.
[38:26]
Let me and I understand that gives you
no satisfaction whatsoever, but I was
[38:30]
trying to answer one particular
question.
[38:31]
» Okay. So, let me point out one thing
too. So, for Mike, you guys don't have
[38:35]
as much experience with Mike being a
solicitor for the board, but just
[38:38]
personalitywise, Mike is a just the
facts guy. So, I I think from everybody
[38:43]
up here, you know, Mike's it's Mike's
ward. Obviously, he's the closest to it.
[38:47]
I don't think there's anybody on this
board, if you pull us right now, that
[38:50]
that have much sympathy for for this
woman. It's not somebody I've ever met.
[38:54]
I don't know anything about her. Um, but
I don't but trust me, don't please don't
[38:58]
walk away with that impression. Mike is
just his job as a lawyer and the way he
[39:03]
carries that is just just the facts,
provide the advice. That's all he's
[39:06]
doing.
>> And and I want to make it very clear,
[39:08]
I'm not upset with you with what you
just said earlier. Uh, it's it's a
[39:12]
matter of it sounded kind of like, oh,
well, we'll try to let her make some
[39:16]
money to make up for it. That's kind of
how it came off.
[39:20]
» I'm sorry if it came across that way. It
certainly wasn't intended that way, you
[39:24]
know.
>> Yeah, that's that's all I just like I I
[39:27]
don't I I think this woman has done
enough to uh prove that she is wrong in
[39:32]
every single way.
>> So, I don't think there's Oh, yeah. I I
[39:36]
don't I don't think I don't think we
should give her any room here. That's
[39:42]
just my opinion.
>> Zero.
[39:45]
» I think that we we have done everything
within the law to try to stop this. And
[39:50]
it's it's just like that when somebody
doesn't cut their grass and it gets too
[39:54]
high. The first time they get a warning,
then if they don't do it, say within
[39:58]
making a couple a week, then they get a
written notice that if it isn't done by
[40:02]
another date, you'll go to court. Okay?
And the same thing applies to
[40:08]
all uh illegal activities like this. You
have to go unfortunately you have to go
[40:13]
through a process, you know, before you
can get the results. And and
[40:17]
unfortunately uh I probably shouldn't
say this. Criminals have rights too or
[40:21]
illegal people doing illegal actions
have rights.
[40:24]
» Yeah.
>> So one more one more question and I know
[40:27]
um somebody mentioned videos and I
understand that that we've collected
[40:32]
some videos off of social media. I I
when I heard videos I thought maybe
[40:37]
there were doorbell cameras and things
like that too. If you have any videos
[40:41]
that aren't out on social media that we
couldn't have come across, if you could
[40:46]
get those to the administration, it'd be
useful.
[40:49]
» So, everything
[40:52]
you've sent already, we've got, but if
there's anything you haven't sent, I I'd
[40:57]
like to have it.
>> Yeah. I I mean, that's it for me. I I
[41:02]
really do I I I'm not trying to rub
anybody the wrong way. I'm just trying
[41:05]
to get our points across. And
>> we appreciate what you had to say.
[41:08]
» Thank you very much. Thank you.
>> Is anybody else um looking to come up?
[41:15]
Ma'am,
[41:18]
» name and address, please.
>> Claire Writer. R I G H T E R. Um I'm at
[41:27]
108 But Lane. I live right across the
street and I see all the activity. My
[41:34]
concern is the owner has multiple
vehicles with multiple
[41:41]
different state license plates. So you
can't monitor
[41:46]
who is going in there. She has Maryland
tags. She has Delaware tags. She has New
[41:54]
Jersey tags. And she has Pennsylvania
tags. Every time she arrives, she's in a
[42:00]
different vehicle.
So, I'm concerned for my neighbors
[42:06]
because I'm going to be away this
weekend that
[42:10]
my eyes aren't on that house
cuz I'm the one that saw them going in
[42:16]
last Tuesday and I'm the one saw them
going in this Monday.
[42:22]
So, I appreciate your vigilance. Um,
I have my own feeling of what number
[42:29]
different license plates is, but I'm not
going to state it here because I'm not
[42:32]
going to wind up getting
>> I have my ideas, too.
[42:36]
» Yeah.
>> Would you and I I I appreciate
[42:41]
everything you're saying. Whoever thinks
maybe that I don't, they don't know me.
[42:45]
And uh I do care. It's frustrating for
me. It's
[42:49]
» Sure. It's your community, too. I mean,
she's bringing our community down. But,
[42:53]
you know, don't worry about me. We're
worried about you guys. We're concerned
[42:57]
when you have 80 people there or 100
people and they're they're hollering
[43:00]
obscenities and they're climbing trees
and throwing beer cans at police and all
[43:04]
that. Uh, running around half naked,
right?
[43:07]
» Okay. We certainly don't think that's
great. That doesn't happen in an or in a
[43:12]
country like this. It shouldn't happen,
you know. And we'll do everything we can
[43:16]
within the law to stop it. That may not
please everybody, but with we're doing
[43:20]
what we can do at this point.
>> I'm just concerned
[43:26]
» like with the It's summertime. It's
people go away on the weekend. Who's
[43:31]
watching that house? Who's watching?
Who's going in and out of the house?
[43:35]
» I I understand. Well, well said.
>> Thank you.
[43:39]
» Anybody else would be interested?
[43:45]
Hi,
>> my name is Maryanne McColen,
[43:48]
» MC CN.
I live at 118 Schubrook Lane.
[43:54]
» Shub S H U B R O Okay. I have a
question. I know that she has an FHA
[43:59]
loan on that home, which means it should
be her primary residence.
[44:02]
» How are you, Mary?
>> From what I hear, she does not live in
[44:05]
that home. Is that not a direct
violation right there? And under FHA,
[44:11]
is she allowed to rent the home?
>> Well, I can't answer the part, is she
[44:14]
allowed to to be not be there, but he he
can, you know,
[44:19]
» can enforce the Fair Housing Act. That's
not us. Um, you're talking about an FHA
[44:26]
loan, right? Yeah. I mean,
>> I guess we could try to find a lender
[44:30]
and, you know, notify him that there's
been these problems, but
[44:33]
» I know who that is.
[laughter]
[44:37]
» Yeah. I mean, we could go to courthouse.
You said Janelle already.
[44:40]
» Yeah,
>> it's on the It's on the uh county uh
[44:43]
real estate page. I think it's Core
Logic. I think
[44:46]
» it's who?
>> I think it's Core Logic.
[44:48]
» No.
>> No. Okay. That's what I saw there, but
[44:52]
» um I forget. I don't know it off the top
of my head, but that's not it. Um but it
[44:56]
says she should live in the home, but
from what I hear from everybody, I don't
[44:59]
live I don't live there to see the
comingings and goings, but from what I
[45:02]
heard, she does not live there. And
under FHA, she should live in that home.
[45:08]
And the woman that does live, the woman
that is there apparently occasionally
[45:12]
» is the grandmother.
>> Yeah, I heard that.
[45:15]
» Okay. And the one thing that concerns
me, I had heard this from the neighbor
[45:18]
who rescued the little boy out of the
pool. That little boy was staying with
[45:22]
four men in the basement. If that is not
a red flag today, I don't know what is.
[45:28]
So, someone should be looking into that.
Who's she renting? Who's she renting to?
[45:32]
Four grown men and a six-year-old little
boy who drowned in the pool.
[45:36]
That's a concern.
So, it sounds like she's bringing
[45:40]
nothing good to our neighborhood.
[45:46]
So, that's it. I'm just I don't know a
lot about FHA. I just wanted to I
[45:50]
thought maybe you could maybe shed some
light on it.
[45:53]
So,
but that's all I got.
[45:57]
» Thank you.
>> Thank you.
[46:01]
» Anybody else?
>> I'm not ma'am.
[46:06]
My name is Linda Dalvo. D I S A L V O
120 Shoe Brook Lane. So I kind of corner
[46:15]
up to butt Raymond and Shoe Brook. Now
my ring camera went nuts for the one
[46:21]
event that dispersed everybody in the
street. Okay, I couldn't get clear
[46:26]
video, but obviously I heard later that
there was opportunity to ask them to
[46:31]
leave from the Waw Wa. So for me and
thank you all who are looking into this.
[46:36]
I want to know it's a quality of life
issue and obviously we're very concerned
[46:41]
» is a quality of life is
>> you know clearly and simply I want to
[46:44]
grow old and die here.
I want people to raise their children
[46:48]
here and not have to be in fear of
what's going on on their block. I have
[46:54]
stepped up and tried to support the butt
uh lane folks by just simply walking
[47:00]
around. see something, say something.
So, obviously they have seen me. And if
[47:05]
they haven't, look out every once in a
while and you will see me sometimes with
[47:09]
my green umbrella, you know, and you can
just give me a hey or whatever. My
[47:14]
name's Linda. But I just want to know
that all due diligence is being done to
[47:20]
rid this. I am been in that home 56
years. Okay. We also left an area
[47:28]
because of urban blight.
I know what it feels like to try to have
[47:32]
a better quality of life. I don't want
to see Aston succumb,
[47:38]
okay, to the very ills that a lot of
people 65 and older who migrated to
[47:44]
Aston Township know exactly what I'm
talking about. I'm in fear.
[47:50]
I think all of us can understand that. I
grew up off of Ninth Street in Chester
[47:56]
and obviously there was many quality of
life issues that my parents felt it was
[48:01]
time for us to leave.
We're witnessing some of the same things
[48:05]
with this kind of party going on. And
from what I hear that at one point, I
[48:10]
don't know, and I can't substantiate it,
they were saying that Aston is their
[48:14]
town now.
>> That was a comment that was made
[48:18]
mentioned that. So I I I would think
not. So I ask you to put all your
[48:24]
efforts and all your good works to
support a healthy and wonderful quality
[48:29]
of life before you start seeing sales
signs go up and because you know people
[48:35]
get scared they they make irrational
decisions. Some that will regret them
[48:40]
others but we don't want that to happen
a mass exodus. Okay. So, I thank you for
[48:46]
your time and I trust that you'll have
the good intentions of our neighborhood
[48:50]
in and and in your heart [clears throat]
and and I'll keep looking out for
[48:59]
» we we we share your everything you said
we share.
[49:03]
» Okay. Would someone else want to come up
or speak?
[49:10]
» Okay.
Are you speaking, Michael?
[49:15]
» [laughter]
[49:20]
» I just ask that you guys just keep our
kids in mind since Nicole Michelle.
[49:30]
» Danielle, can you can you come up? I'm
not picking up everything you're saying.
[49:34]
I've got some upper respiratory
congestion here.
[49:39]
I just want you guys to keep our kids in
your thought when you guys are figuring
[49:44]
out how to fix this or whatever it's
going to be because that is I think I
[49:48]
can say for everyone our biggest
concern. We have young kids and they
[49:52]
like to be outside and lately they can't
be outside sometimes and I don't think
[49:57]
that's fair to any of them. So please
please just imagine your kids little
[50:02]
kids in this situation and seeing what
they saw the other night.
[50:06]
» Right. And I just want to make one
point. I I forget who I was speaking to
[50:10]
about this because I've I've had some uh
comments. Claire, it might have been
[50:13]
your husband, but about if you see
something, don't just keep to yourself.
[50:19]
Say something if you see something. And
I encourage everybody to do that. Even
[50:23]
if it's if you call 911, a police
officer will show up at your door. They
[50:27]
have to. Okay? Uh if you're worried
about the person that you're going
[50:32]
after, one of the people in the house
for example, knowing who you are, the
[50:36]
police the police will know who you are,
but they will respect your wishes if
[50:40]
they don't want your name used. I'm just
>> This woman might not know our names, but
[50:44]
she knows it's all of us at this point.
But it's just sad when a 9-year-old kid
[50:48]
says, "Can we go outside or there going
to be people bothering us?" That is what
[50:53]
is her in this whole situation is our
kids that are growing up here. I get it.
[50:58]
It's life, but it's not in our
neighborhood. This is not what we moved
[51:01]
here for and grew up here with. So,
that's all I'm asking is just think of
[51:05]
these little kids in this neighborhood
and what they've seen thus far.
[51:10]
» I don't know who's in tomorrow, but one
of the things I was thinking about
[51:13]
actually today before I came up here was
that we need to con convene another
[51:18]
meeting with uh we would have Michael
Rogeri, Mr. come and uh Michael might be
[51:25]
Michael the solicitor might be on the
phone uh and the rest of us will be in
[51:28]
the conference room. will have code
there and uh you know we'll we'll look
[51:32]
and see uh some of the things were
mentioned here about the uh the website
[51:37]
or that wherever that's on I don't know
if it's Facebook or social media of some
[51:41]
kind discuss that is there anything that
that we missed you know I
[51:46]
[clears throat] just want to make sure
that we do this right but do it within
[51:48]
the law
>> right
[51:50]
» uh you know we don't do it within the
law and a person takes us to court then
[51:54]
we're lose
>> right and and again to the police they
[51:58]
have been wonderful. I have nothing but
wonderful things to say about them from
[52:02]
the night on national night out. They
handled that situation with grace. And
[52:07]
let me tell you something, being a
standby or watching them, I would have
[52:11]
lost my [ __ ] if I was one of them. The
way they kept theirelves together, I
[52:16]
give them all the credit in the world
for what they're doing.
[52:20]
» Okay. Thank you very much. Um, I
appreciate all your comments tonight.
[52:25]
may have not have answered them exactly
the way you want, but we're trying to
[52:29]
act within the law and we don't have any
choice. So, um, just stay tuned, please,
[52:36]
you know,
>> and if something goes down, call the
[52:39]
police first. If you want to if you want
to and then contact code if it's night
[52:43]
time, call me. If I'm home, you'll
you'll see my face in a couple minutes.
[52:49]
Okay.
So,
[52:54]
all right. So, we're going to move on to
other
[52:58]
Mr. Tinsley.
Thanks, Mike Higgins. Um, no, no other
[53:03]
comments.
Okay.
[53:07]
Mr. Bur,
>> no comments. I just advise everybody to
[53:12]
call 911.
[53:16]
» Never a mistake. Call 911.
And I'd just like to say to everybody,
[53:20]
we are very concerned about this. Uh we
had a police committee meeting the other
[53:25]
day and believe me, the chief is really
upset about this and so is the whole
[53:29]
board. I just want to think like he
said, call 911.
[53:35]
» Yeah, we all share your anger. We really
do, but as um everyone said, we have to
[53:40]
stay within the law. Uh, I'll say this
and probably I probably shouldn't say
[53:44]
this, but I've been a police
commissioner for 7 8 years now. And u I
[53:48]
think one of the failings of our our
whole system is the bad guys have all
[53:51]
the rights. They really do. It's I've
heard from my residents, well, what
[53:55]
about my quality of life? My peaceful I
just want to, you know, live peacefully.
[54:00]
Bad guys don't care. And the courts care
what they say, not what you say. So I I
[54:05]
that hurts that hurts to say that, but
it's just it's the truth. Uh on happier
[54:09]
news, uh wish everyone a great rest of
your summer, uh great Labor Day, and
[54:13]
please try to join us at our Thursday
afternoon, Thursday evening concerts. I
[54:16]
think we have one or two left. All
right, take care.
[54:19]
» Commissioner Mc Commissioner Bowden,
please.
[54:22]
» Well, you probably don't want me to say
anything, but most of you out there know
[54:26]
who I am. You know, when I say
something, I do something. You know this
[54:32]
board and this administration, and I'm
telling you the gospel, honest truth.
[54:38]
They're doing everything with the
wonderful cooperation of our police
[54:42]
department. You know I don't lie. You
know I get things done and I've been
[54:47]
doing it for years in this town. Trust
me, they're doing everything they can.
[54:54]
The police are on top of it. Believe me.
911. And if not, call me. I'll call 911.
[55:02]
I have no problem. I've offered to go
sit over there, but I've been asked not
[55:06]
to. But let me just say this to you.
Trust the police department. They're on
[55:11]
it. Seriously.
>> Thanks,
[55:16]
» Commissioner McIn.
>> Yeah, just one correction for
[55:19]
Commissioner Bowden. Don't call her. We
don't need her going out with her Batman
[55:22]
costume or Spider-Man. She might have
just saw Spider-Man the other week. I
[55:26]
think everybody in America did. So,
don't do anything crazy, Nancy. No, but
[55:29]
in all seriousness, I you know, I think
folks here, you can I see the
[55:33]
frustration anytime you're going to take
time out of your day, right? we're
[55:35]
[clears throat] in the middle of an
afternoon to to come do this. Um, you
[55:39]
know, it it it reaches a boiling point,
you know what I mean? And so, um, I
[55:44]
think everybody up here has family, has
kids at different ages, you know, their
[55:47]
kids are as young as yours right now.
They were at one point, um, and don't
[55:51]
want that thing. And even if you don't
have kids, you don't want you don't want
[55:54]
that in your neighborhood. So, um,
certainly appreciate, you know, the
[55:58]
comments and, you know, I'm I'm hopeful,
uh, we have a great police department
[56:02]
and, uh, some great folks that'll take a
look at this and I'm hopeful that they
[56:06]
can solve it. It's, uh, something that's
kind of new and unique because of, you
[56:11]
know, the internet, social media, right,
with people being able to do this. I saw
[56:16]
something recently, I guess it was in, I
think it was in New Town Square, a
[56:19]
similar issue. So, um, you know, maybe
there'll be some tools that can be
[56:23]
thought of that can, you know, help not
just Aston, but, um, you know, other
[56:27]
municipalities make sure this gets
nipped in the bud and that it doesn't
[56:30]
pop up somewhere else, right? Um, in the
township or somewhere else. So, that
[56:35]
said, that one other thing I just have
to say, um, you know, because it's a
[56:40]
cool moment and embarrass him a little,
but a proud Aston boy, Joe Vuso, who's
[56:45]
our engineer, wrote a book, Who Killed
the American Dream? Um, so Joe, for
[56:50]
those that don't know him, Joe's been um
the township engineer probably as long
[56:55]
as as I've been alive or or longer. Um,
you know, he is a a guy that grew up in
[57:00]
Aston, did really well for himself,
educated masters at Villanova, and um
[57:06]
has more knowledge and experience than
anybody I've I've probably ever come
[57:11]
across in terms of municipal
engineering. And so he took some time to
[57:16]
kind of put some together talking about,
you know, what it is to be in the
[57:19]
suburbs. And, you know, everybody here,
sure, a lot of you are either, you know,
[57:23]
own your homes or renting and hoping to
own, but that's kind of what the book's
[57:26]
about. Like, hey, what do we how do we
how do we make this work, right? Whether
[57:30]
it's for us, we own, but you know, our
children or others. So, um, I'm only a
[57:35]
little bit through it so far, but, uh,
um, you know, Joe, and I don't mean this
[57:40]
just cuz he's an engineer, cuz usually
the engineering science guys aren't the
[57:43]
best writers. I mean, just in general,
you know, it's it's very well written.
[57:48]
So, um, I just wanted to to mention
that, you know, for all the all the
[57:52]
years of service Joe's put in township
and everywhere else, really proud and
[57:56]
very cool to to see him uh, write and
publish this book.
[57:59]
» Thanks, Joe.
>> Thank you, Joe.
[58:03]
Wait, I had to pay for mine.
>> Miss Pippen, have anything you'd like to
[58:08]
add? Mr.
>> Yeah, I just have to remind people that
[58:12]
uh Maryanne Bowen could not be here
tonight this afternoon, but uh she
[58:16]
wanted me to mention that community day
is Saturday, October 3rd, and that she
[58:21]
needs volunteers. If anybody's
interested, reach out to her. Also want
[58:26]
to mention that the wall that heals is
coming to Aston Township. Um, it arrives
[58:31]
on October the 6th. It's going to be a
uh open from October the 8th through
[58:36]
October 11th, which is Thursday, October
8th through Sunday, October 11th. We
[58:41]
have plenty of activities. There's
information on our website if anybody
[58:44]
wants to go on to the website. There's
volunteer opportunities. It's going to
[58:48]
be a very solemn occasion, but it's
going to be a real celebration for those
[58:53]
who uh gave their life for our country.
So, uh, in case you don't know what the
[58:58]
wall that heals is, it's the Vietnam War
wall that heals, it's a replica of the
[59:03]
one that's in Washington DC. And we are
one of 31 cities, towns in the United
[59:09]
States that are honored to have that
wall here in October. So, just want to
[59:14]
mention both of those. Go to our
website. There's more information on the
[59:17]
website. There's forms out there.
There's also a tenative schedule of
[59:20]
activities for those days. So, thank you
everyone.
[59:25]
Mr. Excuso, professional engineer.
>> Thank you. Uh, Michael Solicitor.
[59:33]
Thank you. Um, I echo what everybody
else said up here. Um, this is not a
[59:38]
joke. Uh, we do care about it. It's it's
just getting there and that's the
[59:43]
difficult part. So, um, I will be
staying in here. They are going back to
[59:48]
another meeting. I think I'll be out
here if anybody would like to bend my
[59:52]
ear.
Did we do
[1:00:02]
» So with that I asked motion for
adjournment.
[1:00:07]
Thank you. Thank you everybody.
