organizing
[0:05]
Logistics
[0:25]
um
[0:28]
it is recording so the minutes take it
from the recordings we have okay so
[0:39]
you ready okay uh we'll call the meeting
of the Delaware County or excuse me the
[0:45]
hotel Redevelopment commission the order
uh obviously the real call
[0:51]
see the Forum somewhere on YouTube so
I'll get somewhere I'll count them there
[0:54]
uh being we didn't have a meeting this
is the first one of the year I didn't
[0:58]
consult the attorney but I would say we
need to elect officers
[1:02]
not so with that being said to me in the
past I would open the floor for
[1:06]
nominations and we'll start with
president
[1:09]
I mean Bill Walters
so
[1:13]
I'm David going to close the nomination
yeah
[1:18]
take a motion to close the nomination um
make the motion to close nomination
[1:21]
thank you all in favor say aye aye aye
opposed
[1:27]
Gary
all right uh vice president
[1:32]
I make a motion
might as well get it out right up yeah
[1:36]
it came out this is one of the three
here
[1:39]
you'll suck at that I make motion to
close the denomination
[1:44]
um
in a second here second all in favor say
[1:49]
aye I'm opposed
is there it just staying quiet okay uh
[1:55]
and we have secretary
[1:59]
yeah okay all the nominations for
secretary
[2:03]
I'll second that
okay
[2:08]
motion to close
maximum close second second all in favor
[2:13]
say aye
aye opposed motion carries all right
[2:17]
business new business on the agenda
I don't have any minutes I have not no
[2:23]
no minutes from the last meeting to
approve so I'll skip over it make that
[2:26]
note that I don't have those so we'll
skip over that and go
[2:31]
yeah your business is a proposal to fund
a
[2:35]
new basketball court slash pickleball
court
[2:39]
over at the bill walvis Park
and the cost is up to 70 000. we're
[2:45]
hoping a third of them would be paid
well a third of it's gonna be paid out
[2:49]
of edit third out of our we're hoping a
third out of the Redevelopment the Tiff
[2:54]
money 67 tip core of our money okay and
do you have do you have a balance on the
[2:59]
current tip over 115 000 right now and
the request is for how much uh 20
[3:06]
three I would say around twenty three
thousand yeah and we got that's not
[3:10]
counting the main distribution must be
another I think they pay everything
[3:15]
at a length of 335 000 so
the expert from the Redevelopment
[3:21]
commission is 28 around 23 000. yeah
um
[3:25]
how would you like to proceed I mean
with this I I could ask the board if
[3:30]
they're in favor of that do you want to
have a formal paper Drew up by the
[3:34]
attorney for the Redevelopment
commission and then with the financials
[3:38]
to be approved in a later meeting uh I
mean I
[3:42]
decide whether it's a good thing to move
forward or what what do we need here I
[3:45]
think you just I I'm just looking for an
approval of that money to be yeast for
[3:50]
that project okay so up to 23 000 if you
need to be on f224. you can do up to 24.
[3:57]
let me jump in real quick so it's the
it's the project that I've been working
[4:00]
on so I had applied for some grants a
thousand dollars was approved the other
[4:04]
two Walmarts actually just notified me
yesterday and this morning that they
[4:08]
turned it down for the local community
grants I am still waiting to hear back
[4:12]
from the CF Foundation which is Subaru
Indiana Automotive Group I believe
[4:16]
um I applied for up to 15 000 which is
the max award but that does not get
[4:21]
reviewed until the cycle closes which
off the top of my head I think is June
[4:25]
15th so there's potential for that and
then there's also a ball Brothers
[4:30]
Foundation rapid Grant with a five
thousand dollar half that I'm finishing
[4:33]
up submitting for that as well so what
we would do for any of the money that is
[4:38]
coming in we will just take away from
the the commitment from the
[4:43]
Redevelopment commission from the art
fund from the edit funds and just it
[4:47]
evenly divided so it should not exceed
23 000 unless there's anything major and
[4:52]
if there were then I would reach out to
like the Town Council and to your board
[4:57]
as well so 23 000 really should be your
maximum amount
[5:02]
um because I've already gotten a
thousand of it approved and potentially
[5:05]
more
yeah I would say that that's all we'd
[5:08]
ask we've done the rest within the
so
[5:16]
you got anything down there wrong
[5:19]
yeah so there is some lighting there
because there is already the
[5:24]
um fenced in utility area that's back
behind the Hub Building and then the
[5:28]
lighting that's along the roadways there
also lights it
[5:33]
um if we should need some more lighting
at some point then we could definitely
[5:36]
look at that and I could even work on
trying to apply for some funding if it
[5:39]
does come to that it will however be
fenced completely and the fence can be
[5:44]
locked in the evenings to preserve that
area and it is a 10-foot fence too so it
[5:50]
will be definitely enough of a barrier
that if someone wants to get in there I
[5:54]
mean they're going to but it's
definitely going to deter the majority
[6:02]
all right
first I guess I'd entertain the motion
[6:07]
that we as far as to spend up to 23 000
to the system or
[6:13]
basketball
court Downtown Brooklyn I'll say okay I
[6:18]
have a motion a second is there any
discussion
[6:21]
yeah I think it's it's a good move I hit
basically it seals the remaining items
[6:28]
that were on the original plan for the
park
[6:32]
and
um as long as I don't think that we
[6:36]
should light it as long as there's
enough light to see if somebody's on the
[6:39]
court we're good but based off of the
problems that we have had at the park in
[6:44]
the evenings it's probably better that
we don't incentivize people to stick
[6:48]
around
you know Pastor dusk but Steve okay
[6:53]
during the time period that they'll be
using it the the light goes till 9 9 30
[6:59]
you know at night so
[7:03]
of course I had who who are we working
on who you're working with as far as the
[7:08]
design and build and all that
um the lowest bidder for the concrete
[7:12]
was Lynn pack construction the lowest
bidder for the fence was scribes Vanoss
[7:17]
Top Choice fence and then accurate
striping their quote was site I think
[7:23]
1450 to do the striping and that was the
only club that we got for that based on
[7:29]
the price so those are the three
contractors the town is pretty much GC
[7:32]
and then over oh we're seeing the whole
project yes you guys are doing it yeah
[7:35]
okay now this question
any other discussion
[7:40]
seeing that all in favor say aye aye
opposed
[7:45]
oh she's here
okay there was one other item that Amy
[7:50]
added to the agenda which we don't we
aren't right we're not prepared to talk
[7:54]
about tonight but we are moving forward
with expanding the tip from Walnut
[8:00]
Street East to the town limits at least
okay on the north side of 67. John
[8:07]
Brooke didn't have time to to bring that
to us tonight but but look for that to
[8:12]
happen so you guys will need to meet it
again for that
[8:15]
the town that is the north side is where
again
[8:18]
for a long 67 just the West 800 no it's
not even 800. this is the other side of
[8:26]
Chesapeake I think it's just the other
just on the other side of Chesterfield
[8:30]
pool and it shoots North from there okay
because we're thinking the county will
[8:34]
come this way
and meet us there
[8:37]
at that point at some point in the
future so I think a discussion I would
[8:42]
um I would have with you know the
Delaware County I don't know I know
[8:46]
they're looking at those discs in that
area you know I don't know where the
[8:50]
line was at I'll be in that meeting
Thursday but I'm not quite sure where
[8:54]
the line was if he was coming off I
would assume you would come all the way
[8:57]
up but anyway look for that in the
future it won't be too long from now so
[9:03]
I would guess within the next month you
guys all need to meet again so okay
[9:07]
I'll try and before we hang up basically
with Culver's coming in and maybe pizza
[9:13]
stuff there's going to be more money
there to look at doing better things for
[9:16]
Daleville so you might be more active
that's some go so it's supposed to be a
[9:21]
problem with that that's what that's
what they were established towards what
[9:24]
you're supposed to do yeah
any other business or Comics just for
[9:29]
the record from
[9:34]
Jimmy sample and Jimmy Spencer
to know who was outside yeah
[9:44]
he and his employer had
given him like notice of the possibility
[9:51]
of a conflict of interest
with his role in the town and this is
[9:56]
what he does for work so I would not
foresee him
[9:59]
Spencer
[10:07]
either way that you just need to turn a
resignation letter to the Town Council
[10:11]
and then the appropriate mothers the
board or doctor of the president's used
[10:15]
to choose who that replacement would be
I think imbalances
[10:23]
like contractor business and so planning
and zoning and board of zoning appeals
[10:29]
was a conflict of interest but I don't
know
[10:32]
falls under that
[10:36]
Jimmy we can talk about that yeah
okay anything else
[10:44]
entertaining a motion to the journey
second all in favor say aye aye
[10:51]
um
[11:02]
okay
[11:08]
page
[11:12]
