[3:25] magnet that magically collects all the all those jars. And do not throw

[3:29] shredded paper in our recycling um because it creates a mess and it makes

[3:34] things a mess at the murf. Um, and avoid plastic bags and tanglers. Loose, dry,

[3:41] and clean. Um, and then we can make sure that we have good recyclables and good

[3:47] materials uh that are processed from the town. Uh,

[3:53] item E, a Lake Country Fire and Rescue Update. Um last week, Monday the 18th,

[3:58] uh the village of Conwalk Lake was the seventh member of the seven communities

[4:03] that make up Lake Country Fire and Rescue to pass uh at their board level

[4:08] the uh amended IMA. Uh next Wednesday, the 3rd, at 2 o'clock, uh we will be

[4:14] celebrating with a ceremonial uh signing um at station 42 in the city of

[4:20] Delfield. >> So that's exciting. And also

[4:24] congratulations to the member of the fire board, Anthony Arusius. He's the

[4:28] new president of the fire board. He got elected at the last fireboard meeting.

[4:50] attorney on what a commercial lease modification would look like. I did

[6:26] the last meeting that um we have a lease and they have to

[6:30] continue to pay the lease, but they have to at least if they want to get out of

[6:34] it early, allow us opportunity to market the property.

[8:31] think there's three in there that did respond to me about how much it would

[8:34] cost to put in a pickle ball court. I had at least one vendor indicate that we

[8:40] could only fit one in there at a cost of about 59,000. I had another vendor whose

[8:44] total was 120,000 for two ports. Um,

[8:53] the

[8:56] they the the two or three groups that we're talking about the pickle ball are

[9:00] they all have different materials. They all have different standards of types of

[9:04] fencing. Some of them use chain link fence and others use actual like glass

[9:08] panels >> pickle glass

[9:09] » pickle glass.

[9:13] None of them seemed overly interested in putting a pickle ball court in our

[9:18] sports commons to be perfectly honest. Um

[9:22] they didn't like the wind in our park. Um they indicated that we would have to

[9:28] have some sort of lighting that would be nice to have shrubbery around the pickle

[9:31] ball court and that it would be in a very strange sunken area that's going to

[9:35] have water issues. >> Don't know if all of that is accurate or

[9:39] not.

[9:42] It seems like there's a solution to the problem though. They know we're low,

[9:46] right, >> to to have the courts up. We definitely

[9:48] don't need lights if we don't want to extend this,

[9:52] » you know, past those hours, >> right?

[9:54] » Uh you definitely don't want to be getting

[9:58] quotes though from someone who isn't excited about the potential.

[10:03] call the village of Heartland to see who they had their pickle ball courts um put

[10:08] in by. They're going to get us a little bit more information about who they

[10:11] used, but their pickle ball courts are relatively new and they're already

[10:13] breaking down and cracking. >> That's not good.

[10:17] » I'm interested about their concern on the wind. Um I would feel like we're

[10:22] pretty protected out of the west and south.

[10:27] » The wind in our park is one of the reasons why we don't hold our shelter

[10:30] very often. It is windy, so it tunnles through there.

[10:36] » That will affect pickle ball. >> Now, if we didn't go with pickle ball,

[10:40] um, and we went with something like a path, um, currently we have in 2026

[10:45] $323,000 in impact fees. We estimate that next

[10:50] year in 2027, we'll have around 420,000 and that would be enough to do the path.

[10:56] And I just wanted to recap that from the park survey. was the number one wanted

[11:03] item with 98 and pickle ball was number two with 62. So

[11:16] into shrubbery too much other than we need it.

[12:33] Welsh farm residents. Anything we use this impact fee funds for would have to

[12:50] like a a bike line along Golf Road. I don't know if we did let us or if we w

[13:07] » because if you you end up widening E I mean Wellshshire Farms has a plan to

[13:21] adding connectivity to everybody everywhere where including all sharp

[13:24] arms uh you know the so that would be a consideration

[18:32] » So I put another updated recap of the resident survey in there for you. We did

[18:38] not have too many people that uh added their comments. We still have about a 5%

[18:44] response rate, which is very low. just a couple things on the back end.

[18:51] Um like what are we going to do next type of things um future items for town

[18:56] boards meeting for the town board to address is the communication with

[19:00] residents. We did start a newsletter called the Delfield quarterly that

[19:05] people can sign up to receive via their email.

[19:08] » The first one's already out there and we're going to send the next one out

[19:11] probably closer to July or August. Um we have to skate park and how we're going

[19:17] to fund it. Most of the residents indicated they don't want to fund it

[19:21] with taxpayer dollars. They want it to either be by donations or something

[19:24] else.

[19:27] The last um funds that we received for the skate park came from Washa County.

[19:32] It was just over $5,000. We are going to replace a bunch of boards that are

[19:36] approximately $300 a piece. Hopefully, we're going to do that this summer if we

[19:40] have time, but eventually that 5,000 plus is going to go away and we have to

[19:45] decide whether or not we want to keep it. Um, the handful of people that are

[19:49] for the skate park, generally speaking, don't live here. Um, and they they do

[19:56] believe that taxpayers should be put in the bill for the skate park. So, it

[19:59] might be a hot topic, but only for a few people and not necessarily the town as a

[20:06] whole. Um, The garbage collection topic is going to

[20:11] be coming up. We have another new person contact at GFL that's handling our

[20:16] contract this time around. Since I've been here, this is the third new person.

[20:21] Our contract ends in the end of 2027. So, at that point in time, we'll have

[20:27] hopefully the beginning of 2027, more conversations about garbage and have to

[20:31] ask the residents if they're willing to pay for up the drive service.

[20:35] up the drive service is absolutely available. We're not going to tell

[20:38] people that they can't have any, but it is going to be an additional fee for

[20:44] that. From what I understand, GFL has made it

[20:48] clear that the current contract that we have that

[20:52] includes up the drive is going to probably be the same cost when we reup

[20:57] as without the drive. So, we're not going to have any cost savings. Um, just

[21:02] so you're aware, I'll have more information for you guys when

[21:05] » I have cost savings on. >> So, our

[21:09] pass through is like 11 or sorry, 1,100 1.1 million.

[21:14] » Okay. >> Our contract will still be 1.1 million

[21:17] or thereabouts, but without up the drive.

[21:19] » Just to give a little more context, they don't come down my driveway anyway. If

[22:36] willing to let us use their drop off sites for a fee. Um, and then we're

[22:41] going to continue doing strong customer service at the town hall with our 1.5

[22:49] » Well, I think I think the other thing to to mention on the survey is um how

[22:54] divided the town residents are when it comes to the deer. I mean there's, you

[22:58] know, the one comment here, need to address the overpopulation of deer in

[23:01] the township. More damage was done this year than in the eight years we lived

[23:04] here. The deer need to be reduced under the township plans.

[23:08] And then stop letting people hunt into their backyards. We have three wounded

[23:12] deer dying our yards this year and never recovered. Also, two deers with sticking

[23:16] out with them. This is why I moved here to enjoy the nature of the beauty. I get

[23:19] more phone calls about the deer and more people come up and complain to me about

[23:23] the deer in the town about it. I tell them to contact legislator

[23:28] do something about it, but it's going to be a topic at a future time where we

[23:34] deal with >> right to let us

[23:47] Yeah, we can tell them they're not We know where they are.

[23:50] » Okay, I guess. Uh I are you familiar with the city providing mulch for

[23:56] residents? Do they do they >> So if you go and get it yourself, you

[24:01] get it for free. It has to be on a day when their drop off site is open

[24:05] » extended only on city or >> city res and then if you want it

[24:08] delivered to your house, you pay the delivery fee only.

[24:12] » I think the same thing. >> The reason they do it that way is

[24:15] because I'm I'm a city res. We pay on our taxes for this type of stuff. So, um

[24:21] that's why they kind of keep it closer to our residents over which is why I

[24:25] said we would pay a fee to our res. >> Yeah. Yeah.

[24:30] » Well, yeah. Because it's kind of silly. It's just like the deer. Everybody in

[24:34] the every municipality has got their own deer management program. City's got one.

[24:38] We got one. City of does something. And you know, with the storms in April,

[24:45] um I saw the city of Okan Milwaukee and the village of Label, they

[24:51] worked out a deal where city residents can bring some of their stuff to the

[24:54] village of Waco Bell's brush site. And it had me thinking, you know, city

[24:58] Delfield's got a brush dump site. Uh Milwaukee's got one. Village of Portland

[25:04] Heartland's got one. Um why why should we have to recreate the wheel? You know,

[25:08] if we can figure out how to create an economy of scale for agree, I think it's

[25:12] an excellent idea and there should be benefits to everybody involved. talking

[25:16] to GFL too and they're willing to do two times a year to come to like town hall

[25:21] here maybe in the lower parking area to do a special like 4hour drop off and

[25:27] bring your stuff and throw out the truck right away and then so forth. But

[25:30] » is that is that yard waste or is that just luck?

[25:32] » That would be yard waste. Okay. But it would be on the next contract
