[2:08] those in the township, we were able to cover 122. Outside agencies covered 31.

[2:15] We were recalled by VMSC 74 times, recalled by other agencies four times,

[2:23] and the station was in service 100% of the month.

[2:49] from March to June, we ran the residents resident communication survey. Um, we

[2:56] had 196 responses. Um, from those respondents, everyone got to choose

[3:02] three of their um, top choices for how they currently receive news and how they

[3:07] would like to receive news. Um, from those results, most people are receiving

[3:12] their news through our constant contact email. Um, but people seem to they would

[3:20] like to see more text notifications come from the township. So, utilizing the

[3:24] readym service about 58% of respondents would like to see text messaging

[3:32] services. So, >> do we have a breakdown of the

[3:37] sabotage of residents that are have text alerts from Ready Mont?

[3:42] » That could definitely be Oh, um I don't >> just curious how that compares to our

[3:50] databases. >> I don't think the number is huge. So,

[3:54] whether or not people know it exists, I think would be the next question. Are

[3:59] you receiving them and would like to see more or are you just not receiving them

[4:02] at all? >> If anyone has any questions about that,

[4:07] I can send you the full results as well. Um, the communications committee is also

[4:11] working on public comment guidelines to assist residents to um be better

[4:18] prepared and know what our public comment process looks like. Um, so if

[4:24] you have any recommendations on what you would like to see on those guidelines,

[4:28] it will mostly just be a resource on our website for individuals who are looking

[4:32] to make public comment to prep, know that they should state their name and

[4:36] address and that they can post what questions they would like. Um, and

[4:43] finally, the communications committee um has seen other nearby townships have

[4:49] website pages for upcoming ordinances. Um, and so that would mean anything

[4:54] that's on future agendas or is currently being advertised um would just have a

[4:59] separate page of its own on the website so residents could stay up to date on

[5:03] what's coming down the pipeline. So again, if you have any thoughts on that,

[5:07] the communications committee is looking for your input.

[5:12] » Grace, I would like I would like to see the I if you could send me the results

[5:15] of the survey, that'd be great. I also really like

[5:20] what you said about educating people on how to present thoughts they have and

[5:26] also to let them know that we welcome them at every meeting. Public discussion

[7:09] grant. We're looking to get half. That's the request.

[7:15] » This is for ornamental wedding installation.

[7:18] » So, we don't have a plan put together yet. We just kind of have a idea of what

[7:22] we want and where we want it. We did look to have them approximately every

[7:27] 100 ft supplementing the current existing overhead utility lighting. Um

[7:32] so that is the plan as of now from Maple to Huntsburg or on Main Street.

[8:10] obligation for police and non-uniformed employees pension funds for the calendar

[8:15] year 2027. Joe, I don't know if you want to be able

[8:19] to back out on this, but required by the state.

[8:22] » It is a requirement by the state to ensure that the township had equity

[8:26] funding the various pension plans. Uh we have police pension plan. We have a

[8:31] non-uniform pension plan that includes employees who were hired prior to 20

[8:37] 2016. And then we have a defined contribution plan which was uh everyone

[8:44] who's been hired after 2016. Um and county the county actuaries review the

[8:50] plans, review the u the funds that are in the uh funds for the the pension

[8:57] program and then they calculate based on actuarial assumptions what the yearly

[9:03] contribution from the township should be. Um there was slight increases in uh

[9:09] in each one uh nothing major and that usually follows the uh the stock market

[9:16] because the funds we have each of the plans are in in

[9:22] funds for that are largely in the stock market 100%.

[9:26] » No, it's usually about 65 35. So there's some in bonds and and cash as

[9:33] well. Uh but uh it's a pretty standard mix. Um so the

[9:40] MMO for the police pension plan is slated for $342,673.

[9:48] The lower south municipal pension plan is uh

[9:54] $56,000

[9:57] uh $125. um a portion of that $223,

[10:03] uh454 is for the authority, the township

[10:08] authority and the township uh non-uniform plan are are done together.

[10:14] So they're both the employees in the authority and employees in the township

[10:20] are under the same pension. So there's they calculate how each t so the tax

[10:26] portion is 56,000 and the authority portion is 23,000 they have fewer points

[10:33] and the contribution um plan for uh township is $70,924

[10:44] for the authority is 18,65.

[14:27] two and a half acres net. Uh there's some land in the ultimate right ofway,

[14:31] which is typical of something like this. Um that's about another quarter acre of

[14:36] land. And that goes all the way back to the rear property line, which you can

[14:40] see the the left side, the yellow dimension, 655 ft deep. Uh it's

[14:45] trapezoidal in shape. There's uh it's about 124 feet wide in the back and

[18:43] monthly basis to get started, I believe that might be uh an encumbrance at some

[23:04] worked on, didn't we? At one point in the last few months,

[23:08] » we did submit a grant um to enable us to go through a planning process. So

[23:17] voiding point? Where should they be connected?

[23:21] » Definitely they probably will. hand

[23:26] check and then help me understand this open space and trail committee versus

[23:32] the park committee. >> You ask you as a question where where

[23:38] was that coming from? >> Well, I'm going to let Joe feel this

[23:41] because Joe and Holly have done a little research on our park board and I think

[23:46] uh we've got a little more work to do. Well, [clears throat]

[23:50] the park board was formed in 1968. Uh, Slass Township

[23:58] Code requires it to be implemented via pen ordinance, which never happened.

[24:03] [clears throat] So, basically, the park board has been somewhat of an ad hoc

[24:07] committee since 1968, >> but no,

[24:10] » 58 years. But to I guess more to your point, I think that the discussion was

[24:14] and it had been since we've been discussing how this committee was that

[24:20] there was in place an ad hoc committee for frail society and much of the

[24:25] discussion they had was finding connections and connections that were

[24:31] publicly owned connections because everybody those connections a lot easier

[24:34] than if you have to go out and so forth from residents or host. Um so there was

[24:40] a portion of what they did as a trail and sidewalk committee that overlaps

[24:44] with the open space committee. So there they the the committee the open space

[24:50] committee and trails committee were looking at some similar situations and

[24:54] as far as where trails could be placed and also open space. So it just was a

[25:00] kind of a natural progression that the trails committee which was basically ad

[25:03] hoc already was [clears throat]

[25:06] this was making that a more uh formal portion of the trails and so I mean not

[25:13] the open space since you know I mean it's difficult unfortunately we had 19

[25:17] people so it wouldn't be as difficult now as it was in the past but to the man

[25:23] or to have people on two committees is a lot more difficult

[25:28] But since a lot of what they were doing over overlapped cement.

[25:32] » So essentially the charter of the park committee will change to just remove the

[25:35] responsibility of trip. >> Well there was no charter.

[25:38] » Well okayent [laughter] the intention will be the intention will

[25:43] be you got the ordinance now set up for the open space committee. We're going to

[25:47] have a similar ordinance for the park. >> We recreate it

[25:49] » and we're going to recreate it in a manner that they complement one another.

[25:52] » Okay. Because the other thing that the open space committee is going to do is

[25:56] assist I think in the direction of pursuing grants and funding

[25:59] opportunities which isn't something necessarily that the park board did. So

[26:03] there's going to be kind of a division of labor.

[26:10] » And is I mean good good question. So the overlap one of the overlaps would be the

[26:14] trails. >> No they'll redo it.

[26:17] » Now there won't be an overlap. >> No they'll redefine the responsibility.

[26:20] » Yeah. I mean, there still may be things that come up on the trails at a park

[26:24] board meeting that might get kicked back to open space as, hey, here's an

[26:27] opportunity for a connection. Can you guys go try to figure out how to connect

[26:30] these two pieces? And then that would be a challenge back to open space. That's

[26:34] just an example. In the park board would do much of what they do is uh monitor

[26:38] maintenance and park usage and so forth. So, it would probably keep that focus,

[26:44] but obviously people come to the park board and they say, "Hey, I have this

[26:47] great idea to do this." And so maybe that would be where the park board would

[26:50] say hey you know the open space trails commitment is the appropriate place for

[26:55] that question right now you know implementation comes back to the park

[26:59] » and then the oversight of the funds is in connection with

[27:05] » all funds are with you >> recommendations come from that

[27:09] » correct >> in both cases okay

[27:11] » this is a recommend we'll point them in the recommendation

[27:14] » and there's arguments between the two wrestling we had to have a cage Okay.

[28:09] they're putting street lighting because it only kind of makes sense to extend

[28:13] the street lighting to Maple if that's where the other grant money is kicking

[28:18] in. >> Well, it's a cost.

[28:22] that that Maple and Hunsburg would be the only in between those would be the

[28:27] only places would eventually go up. I think it's that's kind of the core of

[28:31] the village and that's the first place to start. And I guess that's where I'm

[28:34] saying if I don't think you finalize that development at the Clemens, if

[28:40] there's an opportunity to have them continue it into the new neighborhood

[28:44] along Sunny Town because they're going to be putting in sidewalks along Sunny

[28:47] Town, a couple new homes. If they could put one or two or three to get it down

[28:53] to closer to Maple to keep it going so we don't have to pay for it.

[28:56] » Maybe we should get a spec for the street lighting on Main Street that we'd

[29:00] like to see. I think we have them right.

[29:03] » Yeah, we were looking um to use similar lighting ornamental structures that is

[29:53] write the check we will take and we'll make a big one up don't get so anyway

[32:09] Um I just when I went on a bike ride the other day, um I was wondering if there's

[32:15] plans to connect off Oak Drive. There's those two new developments that went in.

[32:21] Um I forget the names of them, but it I looked at the plans that were available

[32:25] online. It looked like there was going to be a a trail that was

[32:31] going to connect to that development across that stream. There is a bit of a

[32:36] and I was just wondering >> change in elevation

[32:38] » there. Change in elevation. That's right.

[32:43] some of the planning commission minutes I might have missed something. Seemed

[32:48] like like one was built sooner than planned or later than planned. Is there

[32:53] a plan to connect that or how long would that is there any estimate on the time

[32:58] frame? >> Yes, there is plan conceptually to

[33:03] connect uh through you're talking about the post office and the new up there all

[33:08] the way down to Main Street. Uh there's a bridge structure that needs to be

[33:13] installed because of the change in elevation. So that's kind of the future

[33:17] improvement that uh we're hoping to will occur. Uh it's going to take some fun.

[33:22] So, uh, we're looking for grant opportunities to do that. I don't think

[33:26] we've developed plans yet >> for the covert.

[33:33] » Yeah. The cover then the road beyond the bridge,

[33:39] » but the trail it wouldn't take a whole lot to connect that to that development

[33:50] Sturgeis neighborhood. Uh the oldest is I think it goes the trail goes

[33:57] through there, doesn't it? >> Yeah. The the trail's going to go over

[33:59] the cover and and connect to the culdeac in the back. In fact, there'll be

[34:03] another single family home built back there.
