>> on routine matters. Um I was I was going
[1:05]
to have our attorney um James Pay
clarify for us on the approval of the
[1:10]
talk about the approval of
[clears throat] the special meeting
[1:12]
minutes where we approved a um a quote
that was over 25,000 and his
[1:18]
understanding on how it was possible.
Thanks James. [cough]
[1:23]
» Sure. [clears throat] And I'm I'm
basically paraphrasing what's in the the
[1:27]
code section which is 65 ILCS5-8-9-1
[1:34]
which says you know the project if it's
$25,000 under does not have to be bid.
[1:39]
Um the idea there is when you when
you're when you're looking at what the
[1:44]
project costs you look at it then if it
ends up costing a little more later
[1:49]
that's okay. You're still outside the
bid process. The other way that you can
[1:54]
kind of paper that is with a super
majority vote of the board. So then
[1:59]
that's that's even if the project was
estimated to start at above $25,000,
[2:04]
you all as a super majority, meaning
four out of six, can can overcome that
[2:09]
bid process on on something like that.
But but just two things to note. One,
[2:14]
it's what you're looking at at the time
with regard to whether or not you go
[2:18]
into the bid process, right? So, if it
looks like a $25,000 project at [snorts]
[2:22]
the time, then you don't have to bid it,
even if it ends up going over a little
[2:26]
bit, right? Now, if it goes over a whole
bunch, then it's pretty easy to look
[2:31]
behind. Well, was it ever really a
$25,000 project to begin with? So,
[2:34]
that's kind of the give and take there.
But again, you've got that ability um as
[2:39]
a board organized for a municipality
that's under 500,000 people to overcome
[2:44]
any of those things with a super
majority vote of your board.
[2:49]
But that is the figure the 25,000.
>> That's that's the right number
[2:52]
» for municipal. It's it's higher for uh
um townships.
[2:58]
» So as you're looking at a project that
always have that number in mind, right?
[3:02]
Because if it's looking like it's going
to be bigger than that. Okay. Well, we
[3:04]
either need to bid or go through a
supermajority vote, right? If it's going
[3:08]
to be under that, you're good. Either
way,
[3:11]
» go ahead.
>> I was just always told it was 30,000.
[3:13]
That's why I questioned it. It's it's
different amounts for different weight.
[3:19]
City, village, town, school board,
>> drains, district. Okay. All that.
[3:24]
» All that. Okay. Thank you.
>> Did anyone have any questions about for
[3:28]
the routine manners?
>> I have a couple. Okay. Um, where did we
[3:34]
survey on something?
Is that what you're Is that what you
[3:38]
did, Steve? Was a survey survey on
that's why I was looking at that print.
[3:45]
Which what bill was it?
>> Hang on.
[3:52]
» Was that the weight and merchant
>> for sidewalks?
[3:56]
» Oh,
the survey was for the sidewalks. Okay.
[4:02]
The 2530 is it?
>> It says sidewalk. So,
[4:08]
» and then the new street storm tour right
under it would be the engineering for
[4:12]
the train project.
>> Was that before we put the sidewalk in
[4:15]
on McKinley? Is that that
>> that's where you know when we we
[4:19]
extended the McKinley um we did had to
redo the drainage. Is that what you're
[4:23]
talking about?
>> Yeah.
[4:24]
» Before we could extend it, we had to
have it looked at.
[4:38]
Where do you see that, Keith? I'm sorry.
You bottom of page two.
[4:42]
» Oh, I'm on
[4:48]
bills payable.
>> Bottom of page two. 81426.
[4:56]
» Okay. So, that's part of Mckenley.
>> Yeah.
[4:59]
» Okay.
And then um I'm just curious do we get
[5:04]
estimate because we I feels like we are
using a lot of we have a lot of sidewalk
[5:09]
material stuff even just in the last
four four days or the payable she did
[5:14]
don't you think it might be a little bit
cheaper to
[5:18]
» maybe get estimates on those then
[5:27]
» where are you talking what we're at on 9
date is 98 imi Illinois Irving materials
[5:35]
it
five invoices just on that you know that
[5:40]
one day they
>> well that was the day that she paid them
[5:43]
all
>> right that's what I'm saying but I mean
[5:45]
even some of the other stuff that's just
one day of you know paying them but we
[5:49]
have a lot of other
[5:55]
» sidewalk
>> I'm sorry what's your question
[5:58]
» well I'm just throwing it out there that
maybe we could look at because we still
[6:01]
got to do uh Mckenley, right?
>> Are you saying we need to get quotes for
[6:05]
different concrete or what?
>> But all the amount of money we've spent
[6:09]
on the sidewalks, all the supplies, I
don't know if it would be cheaper to
[6:13]
have to have somebody come in maybe.
>> Do you know the block that um the block
[6:18]
that when Merl could not do it, that
sort section
[6:23]
was $6,500?
65 to $7,000 for one. I'm just throwing
[6:29]
that out.
>> No, no, I mean we can, but I'm just
[6:31]
saying when we've gotten quotes, they
were much higher than having Merl as an
[6:36]
employee doing it and and paying for the
concrete.
[6:38]
» Okay.
>> We didn't pay that much.
[6:43]
» I'm sorry.
>> Our concrete guy was very
[6:48]
» we didn't pay that much.
>> You know, if you need
[6:51]
» give us give us contact information.
That's fine. We'll take contact
[6:54]
information.
And
[6:57]
» and then one more the red line. Is that
the new updated U water software?
[7:01]
» What what's the billing cards for?
>> Is that what we is that that we can send
[7:09]
out?
>> Um honestly I haven't made it that far
[7:12]
in [laughter]
>> it was just delivered. It's the giant
[7:15]
box of cards sitting on the table
program regardless.
[7:19]
» Correct. Right.
>> So it's it is billing cards. It looks
[7:21]
like a
>> whether we use them or not. It just came
[7:24]
with Not unless she needs to.
>> Okay.
[7:27]
» We didn't have an option. That was just
part of it.
[7:29]
» You can have billing cards or something
else. Okay.
[7:32]
» You get it regardless.
>> Anything else?
[7:37]
» Susan,
>> I I just the um animal control report. I
[7:41]
know. I don't know if that's specific to
the old business or the
[7:46]
Do you want to reach out to Shan and I
won't have any answers for that?
[7:49]
» I'm just wondering why we have cats for
the last two months.
[7:51]
» Um Dr. It was a kitten that was smaller
that was too small to get spayed or
[7:56]
neutered and so she kept it down there.
So that's why. Okay.
[8:02]
I believe it's gone now, but you can
check with her for sure.
[8:10]
Anything else?
I don't. Okay.
[8:16]
» All right. Is there a motion for routine
matters?
[8:27]
I'll make a motion to accept the routine
matters.
[8:30]
» Is there a second?
>> I'll second.
[8:32]
» Roll call.
>> Don,
[8:34]
» yes.
>> April,
[8:35]
» yes.
>> Jessica,
[8:37]
» yes.
>> Todd,
[8:38]
» yes.
>> Susan,
[8:39]
» yes.
>> Steve,
[8:41]
» yes.
>> Old business, Steve, it's all you.
[8:48]
uh
drainage work
[8:50]
» looks like this discussion on I guess or
is it both of them I guess Newton and
[8:56]
Oliver for the drainage
uh I reached out the engineer
[9:02]
did his drawings on the report and I
actually reached out to a contractor
[9:07]
about boring underneath Washington
street uh the price I got exceeds 25,000
[9:15]
uh so we're going to have to put it out
for bid and
[9:20]
by doing so I'll just the engineer I'll
have to do another short drawing send it
[9:25]
out for a bid kind of like a a letting
but it will be we should get something
[9:29]
back within like two weeks however
when I talked to him today probably the
[9:34]
soonest he said a contractor may be able
to start maybe two months you're rushing
[9:40]
the engineer agency you're rushing that
they're going to increase their bids
[9:44]
because they're going to push other
workers
[9:46]
more for that's the problem. So, I'm
really hoping this would work, but it
[9:51]
come out more than what we needed. So,
I'd like to make a motion. Uh I guess
[9:57]
any questions on it first.
>> What was your estimate?
[10:01]
» Uh the one I guess 30,000
and then I beat him down a little bit,
[10:05]
tried getting him down. I got him down
about 26,000. He said he couldn't go any
[10:09]
lower. He'd lose money. He's borderline
that.
[10:14]
But that was pouring under the road,
which what we would wouldn't have to
[10:19]
close if we dig trench the road.
They're telling me it take approximately
[10:24]
three at least three days to do that,
put that line in and do the work. So
[10:29]
that's an 80,000 lb highway with truck
traffic coming from south town with
[10:33]
nowhere for trucks to turn around. So,
we'd have to divert truck traffic out at
[10:38]
the township road at the second S-curve,
which in turn he felt the engineer
[10:44]
thought it'd be cheaper to dig saw the
road and dig it. But talking to one
[10:49]
contractor, he said, "No, by the time
you put a flagger out there, you got to
[10:52]
divert that traffic. That road be closed
for three days."
[10:56]
So, uh, boring may be the way to go.
But, uh, either way, I think we need to
[11:02]
put it out for bid. get some bids on it
and I should be able to get something
[11:07]
within two weeks
and go from there.
[11:17]
» Is that was that where your was your
motion just for the West Newton at this
[11:21]
point and then we'll go in onto the
>> Yeah, then I'll go on talking about
[11:24]
Oliver. I don't
>> Is there a second for the West Newton
[11:27]
motion?
>> What's that? I said, "Is there a
[11:30]
second?" Because you made a motion.
>> So, this is boring under under
[11:35]
Washington at noon.
>> Yes. Only thing that is is getting
[11:39]
underneath and then from that point on
down, we'll have to inhouse the tile all
[11:45]
the way down to Davis Court.
>> Okay.
[11:48]
» That's just getting under the road. So,
>> okay.
[11:52]
» We try contracting it out. I mean, we
looking at probably a quarter of a
[11:55]
million dollars.
[12:01]
Is there a second?
>> I'll second.
[12:04]
Roll call.
>> Don,
[12:06]
» yes.
>> April,
[12:07]
» yes.
>> Jessica,
[12:09]
» yes.
>> Todd,
[12:10]
» yes.
>> Susan,
[12:12]
» yes. Steve,
>> yes.
[12:16]
Okay. Then the other discussion I got is
down on Oliver Street. Uh, talked a
[12:21]
little bit with Keith on it. Uh, we
probably need to We haven't got a cost
[12:26]
on that yet, have we? Yet for piping.
>> I got some numbers for what different
[12:34]
sizes cost. A single 18 more water than
212s, which is what we have now.
[12:41]
So, I would
>> because that one I don't actually have a
[12:44]
cost on, but uh
I don't really got anything to vote on
[12:49]
on it yet till we get a final cost. But
I think we need to replace that tile.
[12:54]
What you and I discussed from there on
Jefferson, right? Or no, I'm sorry,
[13:00]
Maine.
>> Maine all the way down to the street
[13:04]
down there by uh
>> east
[13:06]
back in that junction box.
>> And then
[13:10]
» something like $20,000 just for the
>> I got I got the numbers out of the shop.
[13:21]
I'd like to if we can vote to move
forward with that, but I probably need
[13:25]
to get that cost first.
>> Can we do like a cost up to like 40,000
[13:31]
that and then if it's more than that, we
could
[13:35]
» feel like it not to exceed.
>> Yeah. I mean, in the budget, do you know
[13:39]
» 85,000?
>> So there's
[13:41]
» there's still some there.
>> Yeah. So just make a motion that we
[13:44]
would to proceed up to a certain amount.
And I mean, and I'm just throwing out
[13:48]
there for you if you guys have a
different number you want to use that we
[13:51]
could approve it so it doesn't slow it
down. So,
[13:54]
» just remember, we got other pipe we're
going to have to run on down uh Newton
[14:00]
Street also
>> after we get the the one foot under the
[14:04]
road.
>> Well,
[14:05]
» that's not the end of it. There's
another would you say 300 ft there,
[14:09]
right?
>> Probably more than that.
[14:12]
» Yeah, more than that. Yeah, 300 was to
the that one catch base in there at the
[14:19]
» Yeah, I think it was 360 and
I looked at too much stuff. Was more
[14:25]
300.
>> I thought it was like 600.
[14:29]
» Wasn't it like 630 instead of 360?
>> Huh?
[14:32]
» Wasn't it like 630 and not 360?
>> Might be. I thought I heard 360, but I
[14:36]
think that was just to the house.
>> I think that was just the first.
[14:40]
» Yes. Yeah,
>> if I remember. I think that one of you
[14:44]
guys
>> Yeah, it's a way down there.
[14:46]
» So, we're going to have that cost also.
>> So, do you want to I mean, do you want
[14:51]
to have a lower amount and we're going
to have other costs? And I mean, it just
[14:54]
means that if it goes over what we get
for a quote, we we can't proceed until
[14:59]
we come back and vote for more money. I
think we need to do something to get it
[15:03]
start.
>> I mean,
[15:05]
» Newton's important. I mean, both of them
streets
[15:09]
» are big problems in town.
>> So, I mean, like you said, worst case
[15:13]
we'd have to redo the budget. We
>> We'd have to have a special meeting,
[15:17]
right, to change the budget. Lisa,
>> you would to vote on
[15:22]
» if you wanted to if you go more than 10%
over budget, we would have to reduce the
[15:28]
budget. But in order to approve more
money, you would just have a special
[15:32]
meeting. Okay. Okay. Thank you. All
right. So, does 40,000 sound good or
[15:40]
somebody make a motion? I'll make a
motion to start on those repairs not
[15:45]
exceeding 40,000.
>> Is there a second?
[15:48]
» Second.
>> Roll call.
[15:50]
» Don,
>> yes.
[15:52]
» April,
>> yes. Jessica,
[15:53]
» yes.
>> Todd,
[15:55]
» yes.
>> Susan,
[15:57]
» yes. Steve, [clears throat]
>> yes.
[15:59]
» All right. For new business.
>> Has anyone talked to Frontier lately?
[16:04]
People that own that field there?
Originally when they bought that land,
[16:08]
they told me they were going to put tile
in there.
[16:11]
» Did you talk to them once, Todd?
>> No, I've never talked.
[16:14]
» What land are we talking about? I'm
sorry.
[16:16]
» The farm ground on the south side of
Newton Street.
[16:20]
» I don't know how much that would work,
though. When I was looking at the the
[16:24]
hill just to the south of that,
>> even you put tile in there, you're still
[16:28]
going to get a lot of runoff in that
ditch. I don't think there's anything we
[16:31]
can do about it.
>> Okay. I was just wondering. I was just
[16:34]
looking at that one day when we had all
the standing water there. There's a
[16:37]
pretty good bridge there and tiling will
help depend on where they put their
[16:41]
tile. If they want to put in their
ditch, it's going to make it worse.
[16:45]
» South.
[16:52]
» All right. So, for new business,
>> I got a couple.
[16:56]
» Oh,
>> where we at with the Mckenley property
[16:58]
update?
>> Um, we're going to try to put those all
[17:01]
out for bid next month.
for the four properties.
[17:07]
» Sure, we we can do that. We just need I
need to know.
[17:10]
» Yeah.
>> Where where the actual leaves of
[17:13]
property?
>> Okay. Yeah, I'll get all that to you.
[17:14]
So, we'll put it out for bid for October
to open at the November meeting that
[17:19]
» are we still going to do all the
stipulations on them or are we just
[17:22]
going to do as is?
>> We're going to do stipulations for
[17:24]
houses on all four.
[17:32]
And what about the crosswalk signs of
the school? Where we at with them?
[17:35]
» Uh, it's less. [laughter]
>> Probably five, six weeks.
[17:41]
» Seriously?
>> Seriously?
[17:43]
» Wow.
>> Well, they keep sending us the wrong
[17:47]
size. [laughter]
>> Oh my gosh.
[17:50]
So, one you couldn't even see the LED
lights on the last ones that they I mean
[17:54]
they were like this big and they were
the sides are bright yellow and those
[17:58]
were like a dark orange. They were like
an amber color. So,
[18:02]
» can they even supply them for us? But we
were actually
[18:05]
» Oh, they sent really nice high quality
ones. They were just the wrong sign.
[18:09]
They weren't the school crossing sign.
They were just pedestrian crossing sign.
[18:12]
» I wonder. So then they sent the school
crossing sign to try and you know get us
[18:19]
to put it up for school while they
corrected the first one and those were
[18:23]
jokes. So I said just give me the right send it to me move on
[18:28]
» right
>> and school's already started
[18:32]
» it's an ongoing
>> problem in my opinion
[18:34]
» nobody nobody stocks anything you
manufacture by orders
[18:38]
» it's in Asia he said oh it'll be six
weeks it comes out factory of course
[18:47]
» thank you for that input [laughter]
[18:51]
» I have a couple things that he's
I'm done.
[18:54]
» You're done?
>> Yes.
[18:56]
» Okay. Uh, last week or last month,
somebody asked about being able to put
[18:59]
the police like a police log on the
agenda or on the audience portion. Did
[19:04]
we find out about that?
>> Um, we are working on that with the
[19:07]
attorney.
>> Okay.
[19:11]
» And then, uh, we're redoing the water
ordinance.
[19:14]
» We're working on that.
>> Right. Um, because I know like in this
[19:18]
heat they've been working going to work
early. Can we put the hours of the
[19:23]
working hours [clears throat] just in
case there's a problem with
[19:26]
» They still haven't been leaving. You've
been leaving at 3:30, right? You guys
[19:30]
haven't left earlier than that.
>> I know he's he started early Friday, so
[19:33]
I'm assuming he with the heat, he didn't
work.
[19:37]
» Yeah, I don't know.
>> I sometimes we come in sometimes do much
[19:44]
because
>> but I know people call it, you know, 350
[19:51]
Um,
you want us to put the hours? What? I'm
[19:56]
I'm sorry. What are you asking?
>> The working hours just in case he starts
[20:00]
early.
>> Where would you like us to put them?
[20:04]
» It says in the ordinance during business
hours. Oh.
[20:07]
» To actually put the hours of the regular
time,
[20:10]
» the 7 to 3:30.
>> Okay.
[20:13]
» So, but he's he's working on the working
I mean on the water ordinance. So, we'll
[20:18]
we'll discuss that next month.
>> Are we going to vote on it next month?
[20:22]
» Um, it all depends on what he has and
what we if if it's we want changes from
[20:27]
what they're asking for. So, I mean, if
it's going to be we're starting on it. I
[20:34]
mean, he'll present what he's giving to
us if we like what it is the changes
[20:38]
are. If we have questions, it may take
until November to to approve it if
[20:43]
there's any changes need to be made, but
we'll have it for review, I'm sure, by
[20:46]
now.
So,
[20:53]
anything else,
Susan?
[20:59]
» No.
>> So, for new business, um,
[21:05]
with Heather stepping down, Kylie
Reynolds has offered to step up to
[21:09]
oversee the Mansfield community events.
Um it'll go into a um village of
[21:15]
Mansfield checking account. Lisa will it
it since it's going to be a village of
[21:20]
Mansfield checking account, it will be
included in the audit. It won't be a
[21:24]
separate account. It'll it'll be in the
audit. Lisa will reconcile it as she
[21:28]
does all the other accounts. So that'll
be done. It'll still be um the signers
[21:34]
will be as if I think it's Todd Duffy
and I are on the the signers on the
[21:40]
account and it'll work that way. There
will be a debit card if she needs to
[21:44]
purchase something. But um that way
there's there's no conflict or problems.
[21:52]
Anybody have any questions?
[21:56]
Is there a motion to
um appoint Kylie Reynolds as the to
[22:01]
oversee the Mansfield community events?
>> I'll make that motion.
[22:05]
» Is there a second?
[22:09]
» I'll second.
>> Roll call.
[22:12]
» John,
>> yes.
[22:13]
» Yes.
>> Jessica,
[22:14]
» yes.
>> Todd,
[22:16]
» yes.
>> Susan,
[22:17]
» yes.
>> Steve,
[22:18]
» yes.
All right. And then, um, Todd, business.
[22:24]
» Okay. Um, our tornado siren on the south
side of town quit working. Keith
[22:30]
replaced batteries because the batter is
completely dead. Wouldn't hold the
[22:33]
charge. Um, they lasted a few days and
then they were dead again. So, we called
[22:40]
GTSI. They came out, looked at the
siren. They say it got hit by lightning
[22:47]
or took a power surge.
Um, so we submitted a claim with the
[22:52]
insurance. Uh, the first problem is the
insurance says it's not insured. It's
[22:57]
not on the policy. Um, that when it was
put in 22 years ago, nobody insured it.
[23:03]
Um,
but they will come out and look at it
[23:07]
and they will give a good faith payment
of 10,000 if there's damage.
[23:14]
Um, I personally think we need to find
someone else to look at it before we
[23:20]
proceed too much further. Um, Keith took
the batteries back out before he was on
[23:24]
vacation, put them in, and it's worked
every day since till today. I think it
[23:29]
died today, finally. Um, but it's just
not charging. They say the motherboard
[23:35]
and all the electronics are bad. I'm not
sure that's true. I don't know anything
[23:40]
about electronics like that. Um, so I
think we should probably search for a
[23:45]
second opinion, but the insurance is
going to come out this week or next to
[23:51]
look at it and evaluate it. Um, a new
siren is $41,000.
[23:59]
[clears throat] So, um, if if it's just
a charger, we can order a charger and
[24:05]
put in there separately instead of going
through the control board, and it will
[24:09]
do the same thing.
[24:14]
Okay.
>> So, it should be tomorrow.
[24:15]
» So, there's really nothing to vote on
right now. I'd say just let's It's
[24:20]
working. It goes off at noon. We can
still control it from here in the
[24:24]
sheriff's office. So,
>> without a battery?
[24:28]
» Well, it's got battery with batteries.
Yeah.
[24:30]
» You can control it without it or without
the battery or No,
[24:33]
» it has to have batteries. It's It's run
strictly off batteries.
[24:39]
So, it's still operational if we need
it. Um, I think we just need a second.
[24:46]
So,
>> do you know of a company that does
[24:48]
» I'm researching that now. That's the
problem. It's hard to find somebody.
[24:53]
» But these people come from Jacksonville,
so they're already from quite a
[24:56]
distance.
So,
[25:00]
and
this falls under old business, new
[25:04]
business. Um the ANR mechanical has
started doing work on the water main
[25:11]
system. They did some potholeing today
locating utilities. So they should be
[25:18]
progressing the next week or so. Um
they're starting on the west side of
[25:24]
town on Oliver Street. So here in a few
days you might try to avoid the area if
[25:30]
you're over there. Um, they've got all
the stuff down at the shop to start the
[25:35]
construction and do the digging.
That's all I got.
[25:44]
» All right. Audience comments.
>> I have a couple. Sorry. Um, when are
[25:47]
they going to start the demo in that
house?
[25:49]
» Do you know?
>> I don't know. The excavator's there. So,
[25:52]
I imagine this week.
[25:56]
» They must have extra equipment.
>> I know. Been there. Been there a while.
[26:00]
having gone away.
>> Oh yeah. No.
[26:02]
» Yeah, it was all it was there all last
week.
[26:04]
» And then are we done with the sidewalks
for the year?
[26:08]
» And no more trees for the year, right?
>> Unless it's an emergency, but the house
[26:13]
or the tree on Mckenley. We're not doing
that one, right?
[26:17]
» On North Mckenley.
>> It's dead. I mean, it's been dead. But
[26:23]
» you mean the one on Griggs and No,
Mckenley. Which Which one are you?
[26:28]
» It's a Griggs and Mckenley. Right
past um the junkyard
[26:34]
» where Tony lives.
>> Yeah.
[26:36]
» Yeah. Right.
>> Chris Night. It's not dead though, is
[26:40]
it? I don't think that's a dead one
there.
[26:43]
» Tony O'Donn
while
[26:48]
» not 100% sure that's even ours.
>> Tony O'Donnell's.
[26:52]
That's Griggs and Mckenley. I thought
you had
[26:55]
» He has two trees up front. One
>> one This one's on the side. The one was
[27:00]
It's on Mckenley's side.
>> Yeah.
[27:01]
» The one that he painted.
>> Yeah. Yes.
[27:05]
» I don't know if that's ours.
>> I don't think that's ours.
[27:07]
» No, that's the one that he's he's been
talking about is on Gregs.
[27:11]
» This one.
>> And he also ones out front.
[27:13]
» Yeah.
[27:16]
» I mean, it's dead and like you said,
it's he's painted it several times.
[27:21]
» Is that
>> Yeah, that's Billy Ray Williams place
[27:25]
there.
>> And then right next to the tree.
[27:27]
» So, this one right I don't remember.
>> Yeah, that one's not
[27:33]
» going.
[27:37]
Okay.
>> I think Yeah.
[27:41]
» Yeah. But it looks like it's on
according to my
[27:45]
» Well, with side his
>> I think it's his. I don't think it's
[27:49]
steady, but I want to make sure we
didn't we're not
[27:54]
» any I'm good. Okay. All right. Any
audience comments? Hope.
[28:00]
» Um, why are we spending so much on cat
food in the cat?
[28:04]
» Because she had a cat for two months
that was there. So, it shouldn't I
[28:10]
talked to her about not keeping it for
that long. So, she stocked up. She
[28:14]
shouldn't need it again. So,
[28:19]
thank you, Erin.
>> I have a couple. [clears throat] Um,
[28:24]
last month somebody asked about the
comment section being at the end of the
[28:28]
meeting and you had stated that you're
respect
[28:37]
and it doesn't provide for a format. You
can do them at the beginning. Um, and I
[28:43]
would strongly urge you guys to reorder
the meeting so that the audience can
[28:50]
weigh in at the beginning of the
meeting. you guys had stated that the
[28:56]
you provide the agendas like you know a
couple days ahead which have to by the
[29:01]
open meetings act. Um but that's not a
reason because then we get to sit here
[29:08]
and watch everybody vote but people
might have comments about some of the
[29:12]
agenda items. It'd be nice to have an
opportunity to give those comments
[29:17]
before they're voted on.
>> All right. Thank you for your input. Um
[29:20]
my other item is that
um
[29:25]
why are there no committee meeting
minutes available?
[29:28]
» We haven't had any committee meetings
recently.
[29:32]
» Are they like so they're just whenever
like ad hoc meetings whenever they're
[29:37]
needed?
>> Yes.
[29:39]
» Why are there
why have committed?
[29:46]
It's our it's our process and thank you
for your input. So I appreciate your
[29:51]
concern and we'll take it under
adisement. Is there any other
[29:55]
» Can we spray more than once a week?
[30:00]
» Mosquitoes spraying more than once a
week. Is that what you're saying?
[30:06]
» They're terrible now.
>> Um
[30:11]
you can only spray so much to figure out
whether you can or not. Whatever the
[30:14]
label says,
>> they do make products that you can spray
[30:18]
at home that will last longer than what
we do.
[30:23]
» Ortho makes one. It's a liquid
application. It stays on foliage for a
[30:28]
couple weeks as opposed to
[30:35]
» Demon Max. I use it's
rated for like six months or something,
[30:40]
but if it rains, it washs it off.
You can't keep anything in the air for
[30:46]
flying mosquitoes. I'm guaranteeing you.
I don't care what they say.
[30:50]
» I did spray. The mosquito has to fly
into that fog. That's the only way it
[30:54]
works. So once I go down the street, you
see that fog for four minutes and then
[30:58]
it's gone.
>> That's it.
[31:02]
» Thank you.
>> They took my eye on off. That worked.
[31:06]
[laughter]
[31:08]
» And all those kids are in heaven.
[31:15]
Chris, did you have your hand up?
>> Yeah, I had a question. So, I'm excited
[31:18]
the village is doing stuff about
drainage. I was just curious where
[31:20]
Liberty is going to follow on on that.
We've been here for about 12 years
[31:25]
have a lot of problems being full of
water. That of course problem.
[31:31]
» We're we're starting we're we're
starting on Newton. We're starting on um
[31:37]
Oliver and it's my understanding that
those two areas will expand out, but
[31:45]
we'll we're doing that this year. Well,
I mean, they probably should have a
[31:49]
street and drainage committee needing to
figure out some long-term planning for
[31:53]
that, but we'll take that into account.
Thank you.
[31:57]
» Any other questions?
[32:00]
All right. So,
okay, there's one more announcement. Um,
[32:06]
I have packets for election um available
as of the conclusion of this meeting.
[32:13]
Um, I've only got three ready to hand
out. We had to order more paper. Um, and
[32:18]
I've got five more ready to go when the
paper's here in two days. Um, so, um, if
[32:24]
you're interested in, [clears throat]
you'll have to get with me to get one.
[32:28]
How many seats are?
>> Three.
[32:32]
» All right. So, our next regular meeting
is Monday, October 5th, 2026 here at the
[32:37]
fire department at 7 p.m. Is there a
motion to adjurnn?
[32:41]
» I'll make a motion to
>> I'll second.
[32:46]
» Don,
>> yeah.
[32:47]
» April,
>> yes. Jessica,
[32:49]
» yes. Todd,
>> yes.
[32:51]
» Susan,
>> yes. Steve,
[32:52]
» yes.
[33:06]
Put that again.
[33:21]
I'm trying.
