[3:30] The East Lake Fire Protection Territory

[3:32] is hereby created and determined in

[3:35] accordance with Section of the

[3:36] interlocal

[3:37] cooperation agreement

[3:39] between the city and the town, a true

[3:42] and accurate copy of which is attached

[3:43] here to as Exhibit A and is incorporated

[3:48] In conformance with the requirements of

[3:50] the Indiana of Indiana law, the

[3:52] boundaries checking to the boundaries of

[3:54] the East Lake Fire Protection territory

[3:56] shall include all of the incorporated

[3:58] boundaries of the city of Lake Station

[4:01] and town of New Chicago.

[4:03] That the city is authorized to be the

[4:06] provider unit in the East Lake Fire

[4:08] Protection territory as that term is

[4:11] defined in IC 36-8-19-3.

[4:14] The city and town

[4:17] are both authorized to be participating

[4:19] units in the East Lake Fire Protection

[4:21] territory as that term is defined in IC

[4:25] 36-8-19-2.

[4:29] Uh section five, that the city and town

[4:32] shall adopt and impose

[4:34] a uniform tax rate upon all the taxable

[4:37] property within the boundaries of the

[4:39] East Lake Fire Protection territory for

[4:42] fire protection services to fund the

[4:44] East Lake Fire Protection territory

[4:46] general fund and East Lake Fire

[4:49] Protection territory equipment

[4:50] replacement fund as created herein.

[4:53] Consistent section six, consistent with

[4:55] the terms of the interlocal agreement

[4:58] the town council of the city of Lake

[5:00] Station has created the East Lake Fire

[5:03] Protection territory

[5:05] general fund and the East Lake Fire

[5:08] Protection territory equipment

[5:10] replacement fund. The East Lake Fire

[5:12] Protection territory general fund shall

[5:14] be used for

[5:16] expenses for operating and maintaining

[5:18] the fire protection services with

[5:20] in

[5:21] the territory as provided in IC 36

[5:27] The East Lake Fire Protection territory

[5:29] equipment replacement fund shall be used

[5:32] to purchase fire protection equipment

[5:35] used to serve the entire territory as

[5:45] Lake Station and Lake County, Indiana is

[5:48] hereby authorized to and directed to

[5:50] take any and all actions incidental to

[5:53] the establishment of the East Lake Fire

[5:55] Protection Territory as set forth in the

[5:58] interlocal cooperation agreement subject

[6:01] to the approval of the common council of

[22:02] Enforcement activity in the month of

[22:04] February, officer issued a total of 276

[22:07] citations, broken down as 149 local

[22:11] ordinance, 60 state infraction, 26

[22:14] misdemeanor and 30 written warnings.

[22:18] Officers towed 65 vehicles.

[22:24] I'm giving you the CliffNotes version.

[22:26] Uh officers made a total of 46 custodial

[22:29] and non-custodial arrests.

[22:33] In the course of these arrests, they

[22:35] also confiscated 10 g of crack cocaine

[22:38] and approximately 50 g of marijuana.

[22:42] In addition, officers made several

[22:43] firearms related arrests, including four

[22:46] individuals identified as serious

[22:48] violent felons in possession of

[22:50] firearms. These cases represent a

[22:52] significant public safety intervention

[22:54] and align with our continued efforts to

[22:55] disrupt the movement and sale of illegal

[22:57] narcotics and unlawful weapons within

[22:59] our town.

[23:03] Ordinance enforcement and property

[23:04] compliance.

[23:06] Uh concerns have been raised about 65

[23:08] McKinley and 411 Washington.

[23:12] Uh multiple accumulation of trash

[23:14] citations were issued and several

[23:16] illegally parked vehicles were

[23:17] impounded. Both properties have

[23:19] demonstrated measurable improvement in

[23:21] yard condition and overall compliance.

[23:24] Uh fleet status on vehicles, car number

[23:26] six has been out of service for

[23:28] approximately 1 month due to engine

[23:30] issues and now reportedly has been

[23:32] repaired and is back in circulation. Car

[23:34] number one had to be returned to the

[23:37] shop for a water pump pump replacement.

[23:40] And I believe it is back in circulation

[23:42] also.

[23:43] Uh

[23:44] We've upgraded the Wi-Fi units they

[23:47] carry in the cars. It allows them to

[23:50] connect to the internet and do their

[23:52] business. Those were That was done at no

[23:54] cost to the town or the police

[23:55] department. He just got them to upgrade

[23:57] the cameras.

[23:59] Uh we're investigating a new evidence

[24:01] management system

[24:03] and we're just going to kind of go

[24:05] through and take a look at that and then

[24:06] once they've ascertained whether they

[24:07] want to use that, then they'll move

[24:09] forward in some way or another after

[24:10] they've gone through that.

[24:19] moved and we've added some.
