[21:20] responsible. So those are non-negotiables as they're required by

[21:24] Ohio Revised Code and they they keep trying to sneak it back in. So that's

[21:33] indemnification is if we took a million dollars

[21:38] uh cash out of our funding and placed it in an account dedicated just for

[21:44] protecting them with indemnity indemnity >> for and just leave it there for like 10

[35:23] commander also. So it was um a very good tour and everyone's very enthusiastic.

[35:28] They've all been there less than um a month and a half, so they're all brand

[35:32] new to their position. So there's a lot of enthusiasm on base right now, but

[35:36] they are all saying that they would like to step up um community relationships

[35:40] and having events that they bring in uh local local jurisdictions with uh um

[35:46] with base and have um sometimes they'll have events at the club, that sort of

[35:50] thing. So I'll keep you posted if I hear of those sort of things, but that's

[35:54] always great. And I was also there at the Grand County Fair, participated in

[35:58] that and we met about the baby box. Uh, and the we had our our legal council

[36:04] came actually to the township and we had a meeting last week and that prompted

[36:08] the tea meeting that we're going to have this week. So that should be good. the

[36:13] uh marijuana dispensary discussion, just as a reminder, that will now be on

[36:18] October 19th, and that's normally a 12 noon uh meeting, but that one's going to

[36:23] be moved to 7 p.m. so that we can get more um since we had the other meeting

[36:28] in during the day, we wanted to have one during the evening to get more

[36:31] participation from the public. So, make sure that's on your calendars because

[36:35] that is a change from our usual. And uh is uh Sergeant Guerrero still

[36:42] Friday at 11:30 to and that will that be here?

[37:16] specializes her business, she was a prior military and her business is doing

[37:21] strategic planning, that sort of thing. And Barry and I were talking. I was

[37:25] like, well, we could reach out and find out what her price point is and what we

[37:29] want to do. But we were kind of discussing the the pros and cons if we

[37:33] should do that because uh traditionally we are a open space green community is

[37:41] sort of what the the traditional Sugar Creek Township like our our main uh

[37:47] focus would be on and we were just talking about what how would we

[37:53] what would we make that process look like? So we're still

[37:55] » strategic planning. >> Yeah. For strategic planning.

[37:57] » So interesting. I went to um I've been looking at other communities to see if

[38:02] they have posted on their website and even the larger communities uh

[38:07] Westchester Township has one for their fire department

[38:12] but not for any other aspect of the community which was surprising to me. Um

[38:19] I forwarded it to to the chief to have him look at it and see what he thought.

[38:28] It it's an interesting process. Is that fair? What they went through uh to to to

[38:34] develop this plan and I don't know that it says a whole lot in the end. Um

[38:41] there's a lot of words, but I don't know that it says a whole lot. So, it was

[38:46] interesting. So, we're looking at it in other communities to to see what they

[38:51] look like, uh, what they what they put together and and

[38:58] if if there is an actual plan. Um,

[41:00] a bunch of catchphrases and and they're not actually implementing those things.

[41:04] So, whatever we put, I think it it needs to be carried through to to the

[41:09] day-to-day >> or it could be a reflection of like you

[41:13] had a fire levy what year two years ago. It could be a reflection of whatever you

[41:18] promoted, not you, but like the organization promoted when they were

[41:22] trying to pass the levy. Y and it could reflect like this is what we did did or

[41:27] you know what I mean? Like it it should all tie in.

[42:53] would be a core value of the township. So So those kind of things it probably

[43:02] it's stated that now we have a new employee. We just had a new fire fire

[43:07] person and if you saw what those core values were of where we're trying to go,

[43:10] I think you feel more of a >> sense of connected to the organization.

[43:20] you, but I mean like all of us. Is it just going to be a mission that supports

[43:24] all of us or do we want like each department? It

[43:29] things that should be put so we just have a clear understanding of where

[47:43] to the community. I know there were multiple schoolboard meetings where they

[47:46] they brought people in and they did ask for input. Uh what I I know initially

[47:51] they were asking what uh what potentially the old Sugar Creek school

[47:54] building could be used for. Um because it was not ADA compliant. It was old.

[47:58] There were a lot of issues with the building itself. And they they did reach

[48:02] out to Sugar Creek at one point and asked did we have any interest in

[48:05] participating in that whole discussion. And we we already knew that the Lions

[48:09] Club had quite a bit of interest in in the land personally. And uh at at the

[48:14] time the trustees we all discussed it and said that there was no um no action

[48:18] like nothing that we wanted to to do with that with that piece of property.

[48:23] » Okay. >> So we were involved that way. But yes, I

[48:27] um after that we were sort of hands off and like you do your thing and they

[48:31] coordinated with the city on what they wanted to do with the building that way.

[48:35] » But you're right, there was no vote. the way the whole thing was going down

[48:40] » the way buying it for a dollar here and this person

[48:45] » a little bit and I might have it a but if they would have put it for public

[48:51] auction then it would have gone to whomever

[48:56] possibly and I think they were trying to they didn't want it to be a residential

[49:04] they were very against that becoming like apartments or whatever.

[49:09] » And if you sell it that way, you can't control who might buy it and what they

[49:15] might come back and want to zone it for and build there.

[50:15] understand and I mean I I know it's out of compliance like there it would cost a

[51:20] have different things that you're measuring your quality about like your

[51:24] levy. The levy you mentioned that's that's a quality statement for the

[51:29] mission of the fire department or um what you mentioned something else. A

[51:34] couple of things you guys mentioned would be stuff that you would say, okay,

[51:39] this is how we're fulfilling our mission and our strategic plan. And you're

[51:45] measuring those things along the way. And so you can say, well, did we do what

[51:51] we should have done? No. Maybe we need to do something different this coming

[51:55] year to make sure that we pick up what we didn't do. So I think that's an

[52:00] important piece >> if you do that. I think it's smart.
